Graham: ‘We’ve Got The Votes To Confirm Justice Ginsburg’s Replacement Before The Election’

Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Lindsey Graham said Monday night that Senate Republicans have “the votes to confirm Justice Ginsburg’s replacement before the election.”

The Republican also said that the Senate Judiciary Committee will report the nomination so there can be a vote on Trump’s nominee on the Senate floor before the election.

He also noted that Republicans will confirm Ginsburg’s replacement before November 3rd.

Graham: ‘We’ve Got The Votes’

Graham made his comments on Monday’s “Hannity” on Fox News, where he also promised all the Republicans on the Senate Judiciary Committee would vote for the nominee to replace Ginsburg on the Supreme Court.

“We’ve got the votes to confirm Justice Ginsburg’s replacement before the election,” Graham told Sean Hannity.

“We’re going to move forward in the committee. We’re going to report the nomination out of the committee to the floor of the United States Senate so we can vote before the election.”

“That’s the constitutional process,” Graham noted.

Graham Vows He And Republicans Won’t Be Intimidated By The Left

The senator continued, “After Kavanaugh, everything changed with me. They’re not going to intimidate me, Mitch McConnell, or anybody else.”

“The nominee is going to be supported by every Republican in the Judiciary Committee, and we’ve got the votes to confirm the judge — the justice on the floor of the Senate before the election,” Graham insisted.

“And that’s what’s coming,” he vowed.

The night before Graham made his comments to Hannity, protesters gathered outside the senator’s Washington, DC residence to demand he not confirm a replacement for Ginsburg.

Expect The Left’s Shrill Reaction To Get Worse

Given the tone and even violent aggressiveness of today’s left, this was not surprising.

And as President Trump and Republicans continue to go through the process of what the Constitution demands when a Supreme Court seat becomes vacant, expect the left’s reaction to become increasingly worse.

We are already seeing it from Democrat leaders.

They have threatened to pack the courts.

They have threatened to impeach the president for merely doing his Constitutionally-prescribed job.

Left-wing liberals like CNN commentator Resa Azlan have threatened to burn down the country.

It will get worse from here.

Rush Limbaugh: Skip the Senate Hearings And Go Straight To A Vote On Trump’s SCOTUS Nominee

Rush Limbaugh toyed with the idea that Senate Republicans skip the confirmation hearings for President Trump’s next Supreme Court nominee.

Limbaugh, a conservative radio host, mentioned the idea during his Monday broadcast.

He believes whoever the nominee is, Democrats will be planning to drag their name through the mud, just as they did with other Republican presidential nominees.

“I want the Judiciary Committee — I think it’d be great if it were skipped,” suggested Limbaugh.

“We don’t need to open that up for whatever length of time so that whoever this nominee is can be Kavanaughed or Borked or Thomased,” he added. “Because that’s what it’s gonna be, especially when it’s not even required.”

Rush Limbaugh Explains Why Republicans Should Skip SCOTUS Hearings

Aside from noting that the next nominee to the court will have their lives turned upside down by Democrats, Limbaugh believes there is no requirement dictating hearings must be held.

“You know, I mentioned that the Judiciary Committee does not have to do its thing. It’s become a tradition, but it’s not a requirement,” he explained.

“Why not just blow up another tradition? Because, I’ll tell you, that’s how we’re gonna maintain the ones that matter,” continued Limbaugh.

“They have to be defeated. This Supreme Court seat has to be confirmed, it has to be named and confirmed before the election.”

The United States Senate website on nominations states that the practice was not initially common:

“In the 19th century, the Senate referred few nominations to committees. Since the mid-20th century, committee referral has become routine and most nominees testify at Senate hearings.”

Article II, Section 2 of the U.S. Constitution alludes to the “advice and consent of the Senate” being required.

The president “shall nominate, and by and with the Advice and Consent of the Senate, shall appoint Ambassadors, other public Ministers and Consuls, Judges of the Supreme Court, and all other Officers of the United States, whose Appointments are not herein otherwise provided for…”

The Senate site notes that this section though, “has inspired widely varying interpretations” of its meaning.

SCOTUS Process Was Always Going to Come Back to Haunt Dems

If holding confirmation hearings in the Senate is nothing more than a tradition, we see no reason for President Trump not to ‘blow it up.’

For two reasons:

1. Democrats are already threatening to blow up the process by using impeachment – a process reserved for ‘high crimes and misdemeanors’ – as a means to stop Trump’s nominee.

2. Is there any doubt that the resistance party would take any action necessary the moment they have power again? Please.

In 2017, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell triggered the so-called ‘nuclear option’ after Democrats filibustered the nomination of  Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch.

Doing so abolished the 60-vote requirement for nominees, something the Democrats themselves instituted for other judicial nominees under the leadership of Harry Reid in 2013.

And McConnell warned him not to do it …

“You’ll regret this, and you may regret this a lot sooner than you think,” McConnell warned from the Senate floor.

Gorsuch, and later Brett Kavanaugh, were both beneficiaries of the ‘nuclear option’ being invoked.

It will certainly come into play with Trump’s selection to fill the vacancy left by the passing of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

We have Democrats to thank for the controversial tactic. Now Limbaugh wants to see Republicans toss out another archaic tradition. Should they do it?

What Ginsberg Said Four Years Ago About Filling A SCOTUS Vacancy During An Election Year

While liberals continue to circulate and praise the late Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s “fervent wish” that her seat isn’t filled until after the November election, they have not been as eager to share what she thought about filling vacancies to the nation’s highest court before the 2016 presidential election.

When the GOP blocked former President Obama’s pick of Merrick Garland to fill the late Antonin Scalia’s seat through Republican-controlled Senate, Ginsburg instructed them to proceed with reviewing the nomination.

Most Democrats Believed The 2016 SCOTUS Vacancy Should Have Been Filled Before The Election

“That’s their job,” Ginsburg said to The New York Times. “There’s nothing in the Constitution that says the president stops being president in his last year.”

Then-President Barack Obama said basically the same thing in 2016.

“When there is a vacancy on the Supreme Court, the president is to nominate someone, the Senate is to consider that nomination'” Obama said. “There’s no unwritten law that says that it can only be done on off-years.” That’s not in the Constitution text.”

Biden Said In 2016 That Not Appointing A SCOTUS Justice Could Result In A ‘Constitutional Crisis’

Not surprisingly, 2020 Democratic nominee Joe Biden is now saying filling Ginsburg’s vacant SCOTUS seat should wait until after the election, though in 2016, the then-vice president believed that blocking Garland might result in a “constitutional crisis.”

Hillary Clinton also believes the nomination process should wait – but that’s not what she necessarily thought about Garland’s appointment four years ago.

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer said before the 2016 election, “Every day that goes by without a ninth justice is another day the American people’s business is not getting done.”

The Republican National Committee shared a video on Sunday with examples of what Democratic leaders were saying in 2016 about filling a seat during an election year.

Cruz Agrees With Biden (Four Years Ago) – Failure To Nominate A Justice Could Lead To A ‘Constitutional Crisis’

Sen. Ted Cruz – similar to Democrats in 2016 – worries that an eight-member court hading into the election could pose a “constitutional crisis.”

“Democrats and Joe Biden have made clear they intend to challenge this election,” Cruz said Friday on Fox News “Hannity.”

“They intend to fight the legitimacy of the election,” he said. “As you know, Hillary Clinton has told Joe Biden ‘under no circumstances should you concede, you should challenge this election.’”

RELATED: Trump Fires Back After Obama Says He Shouldn’t Fill SCOTUS Vacancy

“And we cannot have Election Day come and go with a 4-4 Court,” Cruz told Sean Hannity.

“A 4-4 Court that is equally divided cannot decide anything,” the senator continued. “And I think we risk a constitutional crisis if we do not have a nine-justice Supreme Court, particularly when there is such a risk of … a contested election.”

McMaster And The ‘Deep State’: Some People In The Administration Are Trying To Save The World ‘From The President’

Former National Security Adviser H.R. McMaster made a recent comment that will surely leave believers of the ‘deep state’ wondering.

McMaster, during an interview with “60 minutes,” stated there is a group of people within the White House who believe they are saving the world “from the President.”

He believes there are three groups of people operating within the administration.

“There is certainly one group of people there who are there to serve the elected president and to serve the country,” said McMaster.

“I think there are other groups there though, as well, a second group that is there really, instead of providing options to the elected president, they really want to advance their narrow agendas,” he admitted.

The third group is one Raw Story defines as “secret members.”

H.R. McMaster Downplays the Deep State

McMaster explained there is “a third group … who cast themselves in the role of saving the country and maybe the world from the president.”

He did add, though, that he believes this is the case with “any administration.”

“60 Minutes” reiterated the point, saying “as in all administrations, the West Wing was riven by rivals.”

Reporter Scott Pelley pressed McMaster on whether or not he fell into the group trying to save the world from Donald Trump.

“No,” he replied. “It was my duty to help the president come to his own decisions.”

Was it not your duty to let him know there were people trying to undermine the duly elected President?

Trump Believes in a Deep State

President Trump recently accused a “deep state” at the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) trying to slow down the testing of COVID vaccines.

“The deep state, or whoever, over at the FDA is making it very difficult for drug companies to get people in order to test the vaccines and therapeutics,” he tweeted weeks ago.

“Obviously, they are hoping to delay the answer until after November 3rd. Must focus on speed, and saving lives!”

While McMaster contends there is a ‘deep state’ battling every administration, there hasn’t likely been quite at the level of those battling President Trump.

Recently released documents from the Department of Justice show multiple members of Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s team that investigated the President engaged in some shady activity.

They “accidentally wiped” their phones after the Office of the Inspector General (OIG) requested them.

Meanwhile, the Senate Homeland Security Committee has voted to authorize over three dozen subpoenas and depositions of Obama-era officials.

The officials – which include former FBI Director James Comey – were involved in the 2016 Russia investigation into the Trump campaign.

These seem like ‘deep state’ actors, some of who engaged in a cover-up.

A Daily Beast article from 2018 parrots exactly what McMaster is saying, with some in the Justice Department practically admitting to their ‘deep state’ activities.

“We see ourselves as rebels,” one official told the Beast, laughing at the notion.

They added that a “senior official” in the anti-Trump movement who had written an anonymous New York Times op-ed was cause for celebration.

A separate official admitted actual celebrations took place after the ‘resistance’ op-ed was published.

“We even went around fist-bumping each other,” they said.

AOC, Pelosi Hint Impeachment Should Be Considered To Stop Trump Supreme Court Selection

Nancy Pelosi and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) have hinted impeachment would be considered as a weapon to halt President Trump from filling a Supreme Court vacancy.

The vacancy arose following the passing of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg on Friday.

Trump has vowed to nominate an individual to fill her seat while Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) announced the nominee “will receive a vote on the floor of the United States Senate.”

House Speaker Pelosi (D-CA) and AOC (D-NY) demonstrated that they are in lockstep in trying to stop the Presidential’s Constitutional duty to select a replacement.

They’ve even gone so far as to wield impeachment – potentially – as a tool to accomplish their politically motivated goals.

Pelosi Refuses to Rule Out Impeachment

Pelosi appeared in an interview with ABC News’ “This Week,” where the topic of impeachment was broached by former Bill Clinton aide George Stephanopoulos.

Stephanopoulos discussed impeaching either President Trump or Attorney General William Barr.

“You and the House could move to impeach President Trump or Attorney General Barr as a way of stalling and preventing the Senate from acting on this nomination,” he suggested.

“We have our options. We have arrows in our quiver that I’m not about to discuss right now, but the fact is we have a big challenge in our country,” Pelosi replied.

She added, “This president has threatened to not even accept the results of the election.”

When questioned again Pelosi claimed her oath to the Constitution would compel her to use every tool at her disposal.

“We have a responsibility. We take an oath to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States,” she continued.

“We have a responsibility to meet the needs of the American people.”

Pelosi concluded: “When we weigh the equities of protecting our democracy, it requires us to use every arrow in our quiver.”

AOC Suggests Impeachment As Well

If you thought Pelosi’s response was unhinged, you needn’t point to any further proof than the fact that AOC is on board with the idea.

Yes, the former bartender believes impeachment – a process reserved for ‘high crimes and misdemeanors’ – is a viable option.

“Would you be in support of potentially reviewing talks of impeachment hearings either against the attorney general or the president?” a reporter asked.

“These are procedures and decisions that are largely up to House Democratic leadership,” she deferred.

“But I believe that also we must consider, again, all of the tools available to our disposal, and that all of these options should be entertained and on the table.”

Take note that the reporters are the ones throwing out the impeachment suggestion, leading both Pelosi and AOC to comment on the matter.

It’s almost as if they’re working together to harness these wild and unhinged ideas into action.

Pelosi’s interview also raised questions as to whether or not she was reading off a teleprompter with her answer because of this curious exchange.

Let’s reiterate that exchange:

Stephanopoulos – “To be clear, you’re not taking any arrows out of your quiver, you’re not ruling anything out?”

Pelosi – “Good morning. Sunday morning. The, uh, we have a responsibility …”

This is strikingly similar to moments when Joe Biden has been caught reading words he wasn’t meant to read off of a teleprompter.

Did ABC feed her the question ahead of time for the answer to be queued up on the screen?

Chris Rock Says Democrats ‘Let The Pandemic Come In’ While They Were Obsessed With Impeachment

Comedian Chris Rock said that Democrats are responsible for the spread of COVID-19 because party leaders “let the pandemic come in” while they were busy pushing to impeach President Donald Trump.

Rock told The New York Times that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi in particular was to blame.

Rock Said Democrats ‘Let The Pandemic Come In’

“It was totally up to Pelosi and the Democrats,” Rock said “Their thing was, ‘We’re going to get him impeached,’ which was never going to happen.”

“You let the pandemic come in,” he added. “Yes, we can blame Trump, but he’s really the 5-year-old.”

Democrat leaders did not show much interest in taking the coronavirus pandemic seriously during the pandemic’s early months. When concerns were being raised about COVID-19 in January, congressional Democrats were busy with staged photo-ops with the articles of impeachment.

In early February, as pandemic concerns were taking shape, Speaker Pelosi infamously tore up a copy of President Trump’s State of the Union address on live television.

Rock Compares Trump To Child Ruler In The Movie ‘The Last Emperor’

In that address, Trump promised that the White House “will take all necessary steps to safeguard our citizens from this threat.”

In his Times interview, Chris Rock, showing little respect for the President, compared him to a child ruler.

“Did you ever see that movie The Last Emperor, where like a 5-year-old is the emperor of China?” Rock said. “There’s a kid and he’s the king.”

“So I’m like, it’s all the Democrats’ fault,” Rock continued. “Because you knew that the emperor was 5 years old. And when the emperor’s 5 years old, they only lead in theory. There’s usually an adult who’s like, ‘OK, this is what we’re really going to do.’”

Rock also revealed that he didn’t believe Barack Obama’s presidency did much good for black Americans.

“Obama becoming the president, it’s progress for white people,” Rock said.

“It’s not progress for Black people,” he added.

Ilhan Omar Demands That President Trump Resign For Downplaying COVID-19

Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) just called for President Donald Trump to resign once again, this time because he downplayed the COVID-19 pandemic while simultaneously admitting in interviews with Bob Woodward that he knew the virus was “deadly.”

Omar Demands Trump Resign

“Over and over again, Donald Trump downplayed the threat of COVID-19 — all while knowing how dangerous it was,” Omar tweeted on Thursday. “Almost 200,000 people have paid the price for his lies with their lives. If he refuses to resign, we will vote him out.”

RELATED: Ilhan Omar Claims Violent Riots Are Simply An ‘Uprising’ Against American Oppression

Omar posted this alongside a tweet of Trump’s from March 2020. In this tweet, the president pointed out that the common flu had killed more Americans than coronavirus.

“So last year 37,000 Americans died from the common Flu,” he tweeted. “It averages between 27,000 and 70,000 per year. Nothing is shut down, life & the economy go on. At this moment there are 546 confirmed cases of CoronaVirus, with 22 deaths. Think about that!”

Biden Also Downplayed COVID

Trump has said that he downplayed the COVID-19 pandemic because he did not want the public to panic. Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden did the exact same thing back in February, something that Omar is conveniently ignoring.

“Barack [Obama] and I, when we were — as president and vice president – we took on the virus that was threatening all of Africa and, uh, the rest of the world,” Biden said as he forgot the name of the Ebola virus. “And we set up a mechanism that worked.”

“But I want to take a moment to say it’s not a time to panic about coronavirus, but coronavirus is a serious public health challenge,” he added.

Omar Has Previously Called For Trump To Resign

This is far from the first time Omar has called for Trump to resign. She first called for his resignation in November 2019, during the House impeachment investigation into his alleged efforts to have Ukraine interfere in the election.

“The President of the United States broke our laws and betrayed our country,” Omar tweeted at the time. “He needs to resign.”

Fact Check: Media And Democrats Downplayed Coronavirus, Not President Trump

While the media rewrites history because of the Bob Woodward tapes, claiming President Trump ‘knew and did nothing’ to protect Americans from the COVID pandemic, their own words and those of their favorite political party have betrayed them.

In reality, it was the media and top Democrat politicians like Joe Biden who downplayed the pandemic – even attacking President Trump for taking the virus seriously.

The President’s role as a leader requires him to make public statements that quell panic and project calm and confidence. It’s a relatively understood tactic for America’s leader.

Anyone recall Barack Obama telling the American people that ISIS had been “contained” one day before they killed over 130 people in Paris? Was there a single media outlet that blamed him for knowing and doing nothing? Of course not.

That said, Trump stands accused of telling Woodward on February 7th that the COVID pandemic was “more deadly than your, you know, your — even your strenuous flus,” while telling him a month later that he “wanted to always play it down … because I don’t want to create a panic.”

Most people understood why the President would make such comments. But the media and the Democrat Party aren’t most people. They’ve seized on the opportunity to accuse Trump of downplaying the crisis and doing nothing to stop it.

One accusation is hypocritical, while the other is simply false.

RELATED: Biden – Just Like Trump – Told Americans Not To ‘Panic’ About COVID At Beginning Of Pandemic

The Media Downplayed the Virus – Here’s Proof

Hypocrisy comes in the form of the mainstream media and their keepers – the Democrat Party – criticizing President Trump of downplaying the threat of the virus to the American people.

Nobody did this more than they did. Yet they have the gall to pretend as if they knew all along how bad things were going to get, sanctimoniously pointing accusatory fingers at the President for having blood on his hands.

The examples are legion, and glaring in how hypocritical they are:

  • The Washington Post said the flu is “much bigger threat than coronavirus.”
  • In another Washington Post ‘perspective‘ piece, they suggest our brains are actually making coronavirus “seem scarier than it is.”
  • The Post also ran a column warning against an aggressive government response to the pandemic.
  • The New York Times claimed that fear “spreads faster than the coronavirus itself.”
  • CNN declared that “racist assaults and ignorant attacks against Asians” were spreading faster than the pandemic.
  • CNN’s Anderson Cooper: “Half the people in America do not get a flu shot, and the flu is far deadlier. So if you’re freaked out at all about coronavirus, you should be more concerned about the flu and actually do something about it, which is get a flu shot.”
  • CNN hosted a doctor who claimed no special precautions were in order because Americans should do “what you do every cold and flu season.”
  • CNN ran a segment citing physicians who said “there’s no need to wear surgical masks … when treating viruses.”
  • Vox tweeted a question asking, “Is this going to be a deadly pandemic?” before answering, “No.”

Democrat lawmakers weren’t much better as they also went out of their way to downplay the threat in the United States.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi told people to leave their concerns behind and head on down to San Francisco’s Chinatown in late February – after President Trump banned travel from China.

“What we’re trying to do today is to say everything is fine here,” Pelosi said. “Come because precautions have been taken. The city is on top of the situation.”

New York City mayor Bill de Blasio was telling people to “go on with your lives” and hit the movie theaters despite the threat.

Following the President’s implementation of a travel ban from China, Democrat presidential nominee Joe Biden vociferously objected, calling the move “xenophobic.”

RELATED: Here’s The Reason Trump Deserves The Nobel Peace Prize And Obama Didn’t

Trump Acted Quickly and Decisively

The second part of the media narrative is to suggest President Trump did nothing to stop the spread – a provable, bald-faced lie.

Unserious journalists make that accusation based simply on the President having told Woodward on March 19th that he “still like(s) playing it down.”

His administration’s actions up until that date show a man taking definitive action behind the scenes.

By the date in question, President Trump and his administration had done the following:

  • The CDC established a coronavirus incident management system to better share and respond to information about the virus.
  • Dr. Fauci announced the National Institutes of Health was working on the development of a vaccine for the coronavirus.
  • The White House Coronavirus Task Force started meeting to help monitor and contain the spread of the virus and provide updates to the President.
  • Declared the coronavirus a public health emergency.
  • Announced Chinese travel restrictions, followed by more from other hotspots such as Italy and the UK.
  • President Trump vowed in his State of the Union Address to “take all necessary steps” to protect Americans from the coronavirus.
  • The CDC began shipping CDC-Developed test kits for the 2019 Novel Coronavirus to U.S. and international labs.
  • Trump signed an $8.3 billion bill to fight the coronavirus outbreak.
  • Trump declared a national emergency in order to access $42 billion in existing funds to combat the coronavirus.

What had the Democrats and the media focused on during that time? Impeachment. And any other coverage that would reflect poorly on the President.

They have no interest in protecting the American people. President Trump did. He took action. And that is the only thing that matters.

When Anti-Trump Neil Cavuto Tried To Use Democrat Talking Points Jim Jordan Wasn’t Having It

Fox News host Neil Cavuto and Republican Congressman Jim Jordan had an exchange on Friday that revealed how some members of the media seem to take Democrat talking points to heart more than they should.

And that member of the media in this case would be the anti-Trump Cavuto.

Cavuto Asks Jordan About Trump And USPS

Cavuto asked Jordan, “What did you make of what the Postmaster General was saying on the whole mail-in ballot issue. He says ‘Because I think the American public should be able to vote by mail.’ He says ‘we’ll deploy processes and procedures that advance any election mail, in some cases first class mail.”

“Do you think that adequately addresses the concerns some Democrats had and many in your own party, that he was sent there by the president to make that next to impossible?” Cavuto questioned.

RELATED: Al Gore: Trump’s Overhaul Of USPS Is The President “Putting His Knee On The Neck Of American Democracy”

Jordan replied, “Well the real concern is when you go with live ballots sent out to everyone as some states are doing that haven’t done this before. You need no better example than the sponsor of today’s legislation. The Chairwoman of the Oversight Committee, Carolyn Maloney, her election was on June 23rd but it took six weeks to determine who the winner was.”

“So that’s the concern the president has,” Jordan continued. “That’s the concern I have. That’s the concern I think lots of Americans have.”

“This is not about the postal service,” Jordan added. “This is about politics.”

Cavuto and Jordan further discussed the mail-in ballot issue, but Cavuto kept circling around and pressing the GOP congressman on the same Democratic talking point – that President Trump was somehow trying to sabotage the election by manipulating the postal service.

Cavuto Asks Again

Cavuto said, “Nevertheless Congressman, the president did say earlier this week that he opposed election aid for states and an emergency bailout for the postal service, citing among other things that it might restrict many Americans of their ability to vote by mail. but he also said that voting by mail, has repeatedly made the claim that mail-in ballots can lead to widespread fraud.”

“So do you believe this is as much about his trying to stymie the process than enhance it?”

“No, I think this is the Democrats playing politics,” Jordan replied, repeating himself, since apparently Cavuto didn’t take the hint the first time.

Jordan continued, “Neil, ask yourself this question and your viewers: Why are we voting on the bill today but not having the hearing on the legislation and hearing from the postmaster general until Monday? Normally it’s the other way around. Normally you want to get all the information from the person in charge, the Postmaster General.”

Jordan then went down the list of empty Democratic attacks on President Trump.

“First it was the Russia investigation,” Jordan said. “The first big committee hearing, this Congress? Michael Cohen, then he came in and lied seven times. Then it was the fake Ukraine impeachment.”

“Now this is just the latest effort of the Democrats to go after the president,” Jordan finished.

Cavuto Asks A Third Time

But Cavuto wasn’t finished.

The Fox news anchor pressed forward, “I understand where you’re coming from Congressman, but if you’re the President of the United States and you’ve long expressed reservations about an overwhelmed system dealing with what could be 100 million mail-in ballots. Do you think he would welcome cutting financing for the post office to make that next to impossible?”

“Of course not,” Jordan replied.

Cavuto added, “That’s what Democrats are charging. Is that not odd to you? Is it not odd?”

“It’s not true,” Jordan shot back. “No, it’s like so many things the Democrats have said. It’s not true.”

“I’ll tell you what is a concern,” Jordan said. “Do you really think if you mailed a ballot to every single voter 150 million ballots, do you really think we’d know the outcome and have all those ballots counted on election night? ”

And A Fourth Time…

But Cavuto STILL wasn’t done. So he rephrased the question.

To ask it a fourth time.

“No, I understand and maybe I wasn’t clear on my question, Congressman,” Cavuto said. “But the timing of cutting aid would actually fit in with that notion that it’s going to overwhelm the system, that we will, ahead of time, make things more difficult. That’s what Democrats are going to argue because of the coincidental timing.”

Jordan was having none of it.

“But we aren’t cutting aid,” Jordan said. “The CARES Act that we passed clearly back in March, the first big stimulus to deal with the coronavirus situation had a $10 billion line of credit. They got $14 billion they’re sitting on and they are, as I said earlier, actually bringing in more money now than they were at this point last year.”

“So it’s just not based in reality, the Democrats’ claims,” Jordan finished.

Why Was Cavuto So Hung Up On This?

Cavuto’s question to Jordan was a fair one, even if the charge isn’t true, because it is in the news and part of our current national discussion.

But to ask the same question four times? Because maybe Cavuto didn’t like the answers he was getting?

And is it a journalist’s job to get the right answers – the truth – or only the kind of answers he or she likes?

Neil Cavuto should strive to be more fair and balanced.
