Pelosi Backs Down, Says She Won’t Try Impeaching Trump Again: Not ‘Worth The Trouble’

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) backed down on Thursday and revealed that she won’t actually try and impeach President Donald Trump for a second time to block him from nominating someone to the Supreme Court.

“I Don’t Think He’s Worth The Trouble”

“I don’t think he’s worth the trouble at this point, we have 40 days until the election,” Pelosi told reporters when asked if she will be trying to impeach the president again“It’s no use orchestrating one thing or another when what really matters in terms of the peaceful transfer of power is that people vote.”

This comes days after Pelosi hinted in an interview that impeachment was not off the table, saying, “we have arrows in our quiver.”

“We have our options,” she told television host George Stephanopoulos. “This president has threatened to not even accept the results of the election with statements that he and his henchmen have made. Right now, our main goal — and I think Ruth Bader Ginsburg would want that to be to protect the integrity of the election — that we protect the American people from the coronavirus.”

Kevin McCarthy Fires Back

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) fired back by warning that he will introduce a motion to oust Pelosi if she dares to launch a second impeachment inquiry.

“I will make you this one promise, listening to the speaker on television this weekend, if she tries to move for an impeachment based upon the president following the Constitution, I think there will be a move on the floor to no longer have the question of her being Speaker. She may think she has a quiver — we do too,” McCarthy told reporters.

As for Trump, he plans to move forward with announcing his nominee on Saturday to fill the Supreme Court seat that was left vacated by the death of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

“I think it will be on Friday or Saturday and we want to pay respect, it looks like we will have services on Thursday or Friday, as I understand it, and I think we should, with all due respect for Justice Ginsburg, wait for services to be over,” Trump said.

AOC, Pelosi Hint Impeachment Should Be Considered To Stop Trump Supreme Court Selection

Nancy Pelosi and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) have hinted impeachment would be considered as a weapon to halt President Trump from filling a Supreme Court vacancy.

The vacancy arose following the passing of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg on Friday.

Trump has vowed to nominate an individual to fill her seat while Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) announced the nominee “will receive a vote on the floor of the United States Senate.”

House Speaker Pelosi (D-CA) and AOC (D-NY) demonstrated that they are in lockstep in trying to stop the Presidential’s Constitutional duty to select a replacement.

They’ve even gone so far as to wield impeachment – potentially – as a tool to accomplish their politically motivated goals.

Pelosi Refuses to Rule Out Impeachment

Pelosi appeared in an interview with ABC News’ “This Week,” where the topic of impeachment was broached by former Bill Clinton aide George Stephanopoulos.

Stephanopoulos discussed impeaching either President Trump or Attorney General William Barr.

“You and the House could move to impeach President Trump or Attorney General Barr as a way of stalling and preventing the Senate from acting on this nomination,” he suggested.

“We have our options. We have arrows in our quiver that I’m not about to discuss right now, but the fact is we have a big challenge in our country,” Pelosi replied.

She added, “This president has threatened to not even accept the results of the election.”

When questioned again Pelosi claimed her oath to the Constitution would compel her to use every tool at her disposal.

“We have a responsibility. We take an oath to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States,” she continued.

“We have a responsibility to meet the needs of the American people.”

Pelosi concluded: “When we weigh the equities of protecting our democracy, it requires us to use every arrow in our quiver.”

AOC Suggests Impeachment As Well

If you thought Pelosi’s response was unhinged, you needn’t point to any further proof than the fact that AOC is on board with the idea.

Yes, the former bartender believes impeachment – a process reserved for ‘high crimes and misdemeanors’ – is a viable option.

“Would you be in support of potentially reviewing talks of impeachment hearings either against the attorney general or the president?” a reporter asked.

“These are procedures and decisions that are largely up to House Democratic leadership,” she deferred.

“But I believe that also we must consider, again, all of the tools available to our disposal, and that all of these options should be entertained and on the table.”

Take note that the reporters are the ones throwing out the impeachment suggestion, leading both Pelosi and AOC to comment on the matter.

It’s almost as if they’re working together to harness these wild and unhinged ideas into action.

Pelosi’s interview also raised questions as to whether or not she was reading off a teleprompter with her answer because of this curious exchange.

Let’s reiterate that exchange:

Stephanopoulos – “To be clear, you’re not taking any arrows out of your quiver, you’re not ruling anything out?”

Pelosi – “Good morning. Sunday morning. The, uh, we have a responsibility …”

This is strikingly similar to moments when Joe Biden has been caught reading words he wasn’t meant to read off of a teleprompter.

Did ABC feed her the question ahead of time for the answer to be queued up on the screen?

ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos Makes Throat-Slitting Gesture On Camera To Cut Away From Trump Lawyer

During an ABC News broadcast on Friday, anchor George Stephanopoulos made a throat-slitting hand movement to cut away from Trump attorney Jay Sekulow during the news outlet’s live coverage of the President’s impeachment trial.

George Stephanopoulos Shows How He Really Feels About Team Trump

Tim Graham, executive editor of NewsBusters, noted that Stephanopoulos could be seen on camera making the gesture at about 3:00 P.M. EST Friday.

The clip showed a Capitol Hill reporter asking Sekulow questions about Attorney General William Barr, Sen. Lindsey Graham, and lawyer Alan Dershowitz all making the argument that abuse of power is impeachable.

“We’ve got something very different from what you’re hearing up here,” Sekulow replied.

“We’ve got lawyers that will be put forward when our side of the case goes that represents multiple schools of thought on what is an impeachable offense,” Sekulow continued. “They have one thing in common: that the actions alleged and the actions of the president do not reach that level — no matter which school of thought you’re on.”

“We’re not afraid to put out both of those schools of thought because our position is you still have to meet basic, fundamental constitutional obligations and they haven’t,” he added.

BUSTED!

As Sekulow began to take another question, viewers could see Stephanopoulos on camera making a throat-slitting gesture to order the end of the broadcast’s feed. Stephanopoulos then immediately went to a panel segment to discuss the Sekulow’s remarks.

“Dude, we SEE you!” Tim Graham wrote on Twitter.

“These guys are NOT going to like hearing the Trump side of this trial,” Graham said in his previous tweet.

That might be an understatement!

The mainstream media has been anti-Trump throughout his presidency. The sentiment comes through as subtle bias or explicit hatred for this President.

George Stephanopoulos appeared Friday to show us exactly what he and his news outlet thinks of Team Trump. We already know what they think.

But to see it expressed so explicitly is still a sight to behold. Wow.
