Chris Rock Blasts President On ‘SNL’ – ‘Trump Is In The Hospital With COVID…My Heart Goes Out To COVID’

While hosting the season premiere of “Saturday Night Live” last night, the comedian Chris Rock used his opening monologue to take a shot President Donald Trump over his COVID-19 diagnosis.

Rock Mocks Trump’s COVID Diagnosis

Rock described the president’s diagnosis as the “elephant in the room” before adding that his heart went out to COVID, referring to Trump’s medical condition.

Before we even get started, let’s — you know, hey, the elephant in the room: President Trump’s in the hospital from COVID, and I just want to say my heart goes out to COVID,” Rock said. “This is a special show this show is quite different than every other show.”

“There are so many protocols — everybody in this audience has been checked, and all week I’ve had things going up my nose,” he added. “Every day I come in here — I haven’t had so much stuff up my nose since I shared a dressing room with Chris Farley.”

“Now, you know,  the world is insane right now,” the comedian added. “But one thing we can agree upon, COVID, has ruined our plans. We all used to have plans before COVID. Remember we all used to have plans?”

“My sister was getting married, man,” Rock said. “I paid Bel Biv Devoe $80,000, man. And I can’t get it back. I had tickets to Coachella, man. I know 200,000 Americans are dead, but I’m not seeing Rage Against the Machine this year, man. That is a travesty.”

Rock Talks American Government

Later in his monologue, Rock said that everything that has happened as of late should make America rethink its relationship with government.

“I think Joe Biden should be the last president ever,” Rock said. “I mean, do we even need a president president?”

“I mean, what job do you have for four years no matter what?” he asked. “Show me one job. Like if you hired a cook and he was making people vomit every day, do you sit there and go, ‘Well, he’s got a four-year deal. We’ve just got to vomit for four more years.’”

“You realize there’s more rules to a game show than running for president? Like Donald Trump left a game show to run for president because it was easier,” Rock joked. “You can’t just throw your son on Jeopardy, or your son-in-law. Steve Harvey can’t put his family on Family Feud.”

Chris Rock Says Democrats ‘Let The Pandemic Come In’ While They Were Obsessed With Impeachment

Comedian Chris Rock said that Democrats are responsible for the spread of COVID-19 because party leaders “let the pandemic come in” while they were busy pushing to impeach President Donald Trump.

Rock told The New York Times that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi in particular was to blame.

Rock Said Democrats ‘Let The Pandemic Come In’

“It was totally up to Pelosi and the Democrats,” Rock said “Their thing was, ‘We’re going to get him impeached,’ which was never going to happen.”

“You let the pandemic come in,” he added. “Yes, we can blame Trump, but he’s really the 5-year-old.”

Democrat leaders did not show much interest in taking the coronavirus pandemic seriously during the pandemic’s early months. When concerns were being raised about COVID-19 in January, congressional Democrats were busy with staged photo-ops with the articles of impeachment.

In early February, as pandemic concerns were taking shape, Speaker Pelosi infamously tore up a copy of President Trump’s State of the Union address on live television.

Rock Compares Trump To Child Ruler In The Movie ‘The Last Emperor’

In that address, Trump promised that the White House “will take all necessary steps to safeguard our citizens from this threat.”

In his Times interview, Chris Rock, showing little respect for the President, compared him to a child ruler.

“Did you ever see that movie The Last Emperor, where like a 5-year-old is the emperor of China?” Rock said. “There’s a kid and he’s the king.”

“So I’m like, it’s all the Democrats’ fault,” Rock continued. “Because you knew that the emperor was 5 years old. And when the emperor’s 5 years old, they only lead in theory. There’s usually an adult who’s like, ‘OK, this is what we’re really going to do.’”

Rock also revealed that he didn’t believe Barack Obama’s presidency did much good for black Americans.

“Obama becoming the president, it’s progress for white people,” Rock said.

“It’s not progress for Black people,” he added.

Dave Chapelle Defends Trump Supporters – Says He Doesn’t See Them ‘As My Enemy’

By PopZette Staff | January 30, 2020

The liberal world of Hollywood is so vehemently anti-Donald Trump that it’s rare to see any entertainer say anything that humanizes the president’s supporters, as doing this can be considered risky to one’s career. That’s why it came as a refreshing surprise when comedian Dave Chappelle spoke out this week to defend Trump supporters, going so far as to say that he understands why people voted for him.

During a conversation with reporters in Iowa this week, Chappelle said that while he personally supporters the Democratic presidential candidate Andrew Yang, he welcomes fans from all sides of the political spectrum, according to Daily Wire.

“I don’t look at Trump supporters as my enemy at all,” Chappelle explained. “I understand why people voted for Trump, I understand people are desperate. And I think that Andrew is right you run against the reasons that Trump got elected. I got friends on both sides of the political aisle, I got fans on both sides of the political aisle.”

Though Chappelle does not identify as conservative, he has teamed up with those on the right in the past to combat cancel culture, something that he despises. After he was given the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor back in October, Chappelle gave an acceptance speech that was widely praised by conservatives in which he defended free speech.

“I like not knowin’ what’s going to happen. I like makin’ memories. Sometimes I do all this crazy s*** around my colleagues just so they can tell their friends I did it,” Chappelle said at the time. “Rather than talk about myself, just briefly, I want to just talk about my genre. Stand-up comedy is an incredibly American genre. I don’t think any other country can produce this many comedians. Unbeknownst to many people in this audience, I don’t think there’s opinion that exists in this country that is not represented in a comedy club by somebody. Each and every one of you has a chance of bein’ in the room.”

“We watch you guys fight, but when we’re together, we talk it out. I know comics that are very racist, and I watch ‘em on stage, and everyone’s laughin’, I’m like, that motherf***** means it,” the renowned comedian continued. “Don’t get mad at ‘em, don’t hate ‘em, we go upstairs and have a beer and sometimes I even appreciate the artistry that they paint their racist opinions with. Man, it’s not that serious. The First Amendment is first for a reason. The Second Amendment is just in case the first one doesn’t work out.”

Most entertainers avoid conservatives like the plague these days, so it’s nice to see someone as famous as Chappelle humanizing Trump supporters and saying that they have some good points of view. If only more celebrities would do the same thing.
