Trump Blasts Bolton Over ‘Nasty’ and ‘Untrue’ Book

On Wednesday, President Trump blasted John Bolton, calling his former national security adviser’s upcoming book that reportedly reveals details about the Ukraine affair at the center of the president’s impeachment “nasty” and “untrue.”

Trump said Bolton “begged” him for a job and that his former top aide made “mistakes of judgment” during his time at the White House, citing a television appearance in April 2018 in which Bolton said the administration was considering the “Libya model” for North Korea regarding negotiations over halting nuclear weapons development.

‘If I listened to him, we would be in World War Six by now’

Trump said Bolton was “fired because, frankly, if I listened to him, we would be in World War Six by now.”

Trump wondered why Bolton would write a book about his tenure “IMMEDIATELY” after his firing, calling it “nasty & untrue.”

These tweets come in the wake of a report by The New York Times that Bolton wrote in his upcoming book that Trump told him he wanted to continue to suspend U.S. aid to Ukraine until the country agreed to investigate former Vice President Joe Biden and his son Hunter Biden.

Trump has repeatedly denied Bolton’s accusation, as have allies of the president who continue to question Bolton’s credibility and motives.

Will Bolton Take the Stand?

Bolton’s revelations have had an impact on the ongoing Senate impeachment trial, raising pressure on Republicans to support calling him as a witness, something the White House would like to avoid.

The Hill reports, “The excerpt contradicts a key part of Trump’s defense — namely that he never tied security assistance for Ukraine to investigations, something House impeachment managers have alleged.”

“Trump’s defense attorneys addressed the issue during their opening arguments on Monday and Tuesday, with the president’s personal attorney Jay Sekulow citing Trump’s denial and urging senators to disregard the reported details of the manuscript by calling it ‘inadmissible,” noted The Hill. “Harvard law professor Alan Dershowitz also argued Monday evening that even if Bolton’s reported account were true, the allegations would not rise to the level of an impeachable offense.”

Trump to GOP: Don’t Get Played By Democrats

Trump tweeted about Bolton and the impeachment trial a few times late night on Tuesday and into Wednesday morning.

“Why didn’t John Bolton complain about this ‘nonsense’ a long time ago, when he was very publicly terminated. He said, not that it matters, NOTHING!” Trump wrote.

Trump continued, “Remember Republicans, the Democrats already had 17 witnesses, we were given NONE! Witnesses are up to the House, not up to the Senate,” the president tweeted. “Don’t let the Dems play you!”

Will Republicans let the Dems “play” them?

Stay tuned.

If Dems Get Witnesses, Trump’s Team Should Be Able To Call Their’s Too

According to the Wall Street Journal, Sen. Mitch McConnell has told his constituents that he doesn’t have the votes to block witnesses during President Trump’s Senate impeachment trial.

He informed them after Trump’s legal team finished with the countermeasures that they want to show the American people how the Democrat-led House pushed the Articles of Impeachment through the system to hurt Trump’s 2020 chances.

The Democrats will not lose in the respect that they have put out a warning to future presidential candidates and judicial nominees that they will ruin their lives and their families lives for going against them. There is no one but Trump that could have stood up to this kind of punishment and there never will be another.

On the third and final day of presentations by the Trump legal team, lawyers tried to cast doubts on the importance and credibility of allegations by former national security adviser John Bolton about the president’s motives for freezing aid to Ukraine.

But at a meeting of all Republican senators late Tuesday, GOP leaders told their conference that they don’t currently have the votes to prevent witnesses from being called, people familiar with the matter said. Republicans had hoped to wrap up the trial with an acquittal of the president by this week, but Democrats have said he should appear under oath to offer a firsthand account of the president’s motivations for freezing aid to Ukraine—a matter at the heart of the impeachment case.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R., Ky.) said the vote total wasn’t where it needed to be on blocking witnesses or documents, these people said. He had a card with “yes,” “no,” and “maybes” marked on it, apparently a whip count, but he didn’t show it to senators.

Using less than half of the 24 hours they were allotted, the president’s lawyers on Tuesday argued that House managers hadn’t established their case that Mr. Trump abused power and obstructed Congress and said the accusations fell short of the threshold needed to remove a president from office, particularly in an election year. [Wall Street Journal]

The Republican Senators who are stupid enough to vote for witnesses need to lose their seats for their bad decisions. They are merely liberals disguising themselves as Republicans. Time for pressure on them.

Whatever Trump told Bolton in a conversation should not matter one bit, it is a private conversation, and it is nobody’s business. What matters is that aid was released and that Ukraine’s president said he never was pressured to announce anything. The issue is those weak Republican Senators, just man up or woman up and support the President. All witnesses should have been called in the House, we have seen enough of those idiots Schiff and Nadler, enough already.

IF there were no impeachment hearings, what would the Senate be doing right now? Looking into Biden’s corruption in Burisma? Who are the loudest voices for impeachment? The same people that are caught up in these corrupt foreign deals that begin with Burisma.

The impeachment exists to distract and prevent the prosecution of corrupt politicians like Pelosi, Romney, Schiff, etc. They can’t let the distraction end or it’s the beginning of the end for them. Those that think they have something to fear don’t want the impeachment hearings to end.

You know, when they conduct these polls and tell you that the American people overwhelmingly want witnesses because they want to see a fair trial, what they don’t tell you is the makeup of the people who answered that poll. I bet if they told you the questions (and responses) behind the poll, you would see a lot of Republicans who want witnesses—-witnesses that they believe will fully exonerate Trump.

That’s why I don’t really care if they call witnesses, as long as Trump gets to call all his witnesses and it isn’t all one-sided in favor of the Dems. Of course, if it does turn out to be one-sided, some Republicans are going to have a LOT to answer for…but the bright side is that this will NOT go down as the “fair trial” that the American people wanted.

Top Republican Leader Sends Stern Message to GOP Senators Thinking About Caving To Democrats On Impeachment

During a Monday night interview by CBS News, Congressman Mark Meadows warned Republican Senators that if they side with Democrats and break with President Donald Trump during the impeachment trial, they could face “political repercussions.”

Meadows Says John Bolton Shouldn’t Testify

“Congressman Meadows, would you support a White House effort to block a Bolton testimony if he were called as a witness?” CBS News host Norah O’Donnell asked Meadows.

“You know, I’ve been one of the few that believe that Secretary Pompeo and Secretary Perry could have testified when it was over here in the House,” Meadows replied. “I’m also one that believes that when you get close to the president, whether it be his chief of staff or his national security advisor, you have to allow for that free flow of conversation back and forth, where ideas can be shared. And so I do believe that executive privilege should be invoked on that and that we shouldn’t hear from Ambassador Bolton.”

Believes Republicans Who Sided with Democrats Would Face ‘Political Repercussions’

“Do you think Republican senators face political repercussions if they break with the president?” O’Donnell asked.

“Yeah, I do,” Meadows said. “I mean, listen, I don’t wanna speak for my Senate colleagues. But there are always political repercussions for every vote you take. There is no vote that is higher-profile than this.”

Meadows is not wrong. As the impeachment circus becomes more and more absurd, whether or not some moderate Republicans decide to stick with President Trump or side with the Democrats is a decision that will rightly define them.

Trump is a Republican president of particular significance, as Meadows rightly pointed out last week.

Desperate Dems

If any Republicans decide to go against Trump, Meadows is right that they will likely pay a political price for it. The Democrats have had it in for Trump since day one, and this Ukraine impeachment angle is only the latest ploy of many. When this doesn’t work, there will be more.

You can expect Democrats to be all in on each of these desperate gambits. Republicans should have sense enough to avoid them.

Or else.

Rep. Adam Schiff makes the irrefutable case for Bolton’s testimony

Donald Trump impeachment trial manager Rep. Adam Schiff has been so very stolid in his handling of the Republican-sham impeachment circus being orchestrated by the White House and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell. As another day of appearances by Trump’s impeachment defense team began, House impeachment managers spoke to reporters in front of the Senate. The last question reporters asked was whether Schiff trusted former national security adviser John Bolton. Schiff used his response to point out the important issue: that the testimony of a witness such as Bolton is vital to a fair trial in the Senate.

REP. ADAM SCHIFF: It's not a question of whether I trust John Bolton or the Republican senators [trust] John Bolton, or the Democratic senators. He should be placed under oath. And this is why we think the testimony should be public. It should be live. Let the American people, along with the senators, evaluate John Bolton’s credibility when he testifies, and make their own judgment. But to say that we’re going to blind ourselves from a witness who has so clearly relevant testimony to one of the central most serious allegations against the president, I don't see how you could have a fair trial without testimony like that.

DEVELOPING: More GOP Senators Could Defect in Impeachment Trial

By David Kamioner | January 27, 2020

Respected political analyst Dr. Tim Blessing of Alvernia College in Pennsylvania has had a look at the Senate GOP caucus and how they may vote on witnesses in the impeachment trial.

“I did a count Friday night. The following are GOP Senators who have publicly left some air in their positions as per witnesses: Murkowski, Gardner, Ernst (though she appears to have walked hers back), Collins, Tillis (who also might be rethinking things), Portman, Inhofe (a bit of a surprise), Lankford (also a bit of a surprise), Toomey (who is quietly moving to a center position–but he cannot be re-elected if he does so), Alexander, Enzi, and Romney. I have no idea what Cruz is doing. If we get down in the weeds, some of these folks could switch.”

It’s a majority vote and current projections show that the Democrats only need to flip four GOP Senators in order to get witnesses.

If Dr. Blessing is right and witnesses are called to testify in the impeachment trial, this becomes an entirely different ordeal and one that could go in very strange directions.

Romney Says He’s ‘Very Likely’ to Join Democrats on Call For New Impeachment Witnesses

Senator Mitt Romney has revealed he’d be in favor of new witnesses being called to testify in the impeachment trial of President Donald Trump.

Romney’s decision comes just prior to controversy over anonymous sources relaying information on a book manuscript by former National Security Advisor John Bolton to the New York Times.

The Times indicates that the manuscript accuses President Trump of withholding military aid to Ukraine until Joe Biden and his son Hunter were properly investigated.

Romney, however, was wavering already and suggesting he’d side with Democrats before the Times published that report.

“I think it’s very likely I’ll be in favor of witnesses, but I haven’t made a decision finally yet and I won’t until the testimony is completed,” the former presidential candidate said on Saturday.

If Romney was in favor of teaming up with Democrats before the Bolton report, he’ll most assuredly be demanding witnesses now.

RELATED: Seven Senators Who May Hold the Key to Trump’s Presidency

Romney Wanted to Hear From Bolton From the Start

Senator Romney was suggesting he’d like to hear from Bolton weeks ago.

“I would like to hear from John Bolton and other witnesses, but at the same time I’m comfortable with the Clinton impeachment model when we have opening arguments first and then we have a vote on whether to have witnesses,” he said.

Democrats would need four Republicans in total to side with them on calling new impeachment witnesses.

Other key individuals that Democrats hope to see defect had listened to the impeachment managers opening arguments and were outraged at the suggestion that if the Senate fails to bend to the whim of their House colleagues they’d be engaged in a “cover-up.”

“I took it as offensive,” Senator Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) said last week. “As one who is listening attentively and working hard to get to a fair process, I was offended.”

Are her offended sensibilities going to outweigh the obvious media collusion with the Bolton revelations?

Aside from Romney and Murkowski, the resistance would also likely need Senators Susan Collins of Maine and Cory Gardner of Colorado to join their side. Collins and Murkowski have, like Romney, been vocal in the idea that they’d be open to new witnesses.

Romney and Political Pressure

Prior to the onset of the impeachment trial, Romney issued a statement explaining his mindset regarding witnesses.

“I have made clear to my colleagues and the public that the Senate should have the opportunity to decide on witnesses following the opening arguments,” he said.

“I will conclude by noting that this is not a situation anyone would wish upon our country,” he continued. “It is difficult, divisive, and further inflames partisan entrenchment. There is inevitable political pressure from all sides.”

The idea that Romney can be so easily swayed from day to day seems to suggest he easily crumbles under that political pressure.

Or is he really being swayed at all? Perhaps this has been the plan all along.

Back in October, Romney hinted that he’d vote to remove the President should impeachment pass in the House of Representatives.

Appearing in an interview with ‘Axios on HBO,’ Romney, according to the outlet, “made it clear that he’s open to voting to remove Trump.”

This is just a continuation of the Senator’s opportunism when it comes to swiping at Trump or praising him when it suits his own needs. Does he smell blood in the water?

‘Right matters and the truth matters’: Read Adam Schiff’s history-making impeachment trial speech

Thursday evening marked the end of a second long day on the Senate floor in Donald Trump’s impeachment trial. Democratic officials presented the evidence to America, detailing how and why Donald Trump must be removed from office. The highlight was lead House impeachment manager Rep. Adam Schiff's powerful 30-minute argument that closed out the day.

Schiff once again detailed some of the steps Trump and his White House took to obstruct the inquiry into his abuses of power. He underlined how the Trump White House went to his handpicked attorney general, William Barr, and got him to refuse to release evidence to Congress. “I know what the law says and it says you shall, doesn't say you may, doesn't say you might, doesn't say you can if you like to, doesn't say if the president doesn't object—it says you shall.” Just like at every other turn in this saga, it’s only because of the Democratic Party’s insistence that a whistleblower’s warnings be heeded that we even discovered how deep our executive branch’s corruption goes.

Finally, Rep. Schiff finished with the powerful, already often-quoted conclusion of his argument, where he tied together why Donald Trump must be removed from office with what’s at stake for America. The final nine minutes of Schiff’s speech is transcribed below.

REP. ADAM SCHIFF: But even now, our ally can’t get his foot in the door. Even now, our ally can’t get his foot in the door. And this brings me to the last point I want to make tonight, which is, when we’re done, we believe that we will have made the case overwhelmingly of the president’s guilt. That is, he’s done what he’s charged with. He withheld the money. He withheld the meeting. He used it to coerce Ukraine to do these political investigations. He covered it up. He obstructed us. He’s trying to obstruct you and he’s violated the Constitution. But I want to address one other thing tonight. Okay, he’s guilty. Okay, he’s guilty. Does he really need to be removed? Does he really need to be removed? We have an election coming up. Does he really need to be removed? He’s guilty. You know, is there really any doubt about this? Do we really have any doubt about the facts here? Does anybody really question whether the president is capable of what he’s charged with? No one is really making the argument “Donald Trump would never do such a thing,” because of course we know that he would, and of course we know that he did. It’s a somewhat different question though to ask, okay, it’s pretty obvious whether we can say it publicly or we can’t say it publicly. We all know what we’re dealing here with this president, but does he really need to be removed? And this is why he needs to be removed.

Donald Trump chose Rudy Giuliani over his own intelligence agencies. He chose Rudy Giuliani over his own FBI director. He chose Rudy Giuliani over his own national security advisers. When all of them were telling him this Ukraine 2016 stuff is kooky, crazy Russian propaganda, he chose not to believe them. He chose to believe Rudy Giuliani. That makes him dangerous to us, to our country. That was Donald Trump’s choice. Now, why would Donald Trump believe a man like Rudy Giuliani over a man like Christopher Wray? Okay. Why would anyone in their right mind believe Rudy Giuliani over Christopher Wray? Because he wanted to and because what Rudy was offering him was something that would help him personally. And what Christopher Wray was offering him was merely the truth. What Christopher Wray was offering him was merely the information he needed to protect his country and its elections, but that’s not good enough. What’s in it for him? What’s in it for Donald Trump? This is why he needs to be removed.

Now, you may be asking how much damage can he really do in the next several months until the election? A lot. A lot of damage. Now, we just saw last week, a report that Russia tried to hack or maybe did hack Burisma. Okay. I don’t know if they got in. I’m trying to find out. My colleagues on the Intel Committee, House and Senate, we’re trying to find out, did the Russians get in? What are the Russian plans and intentions? Well, let’s say they got in and let’s say they start dumping documents to interfere in the next election.

Let’s say they start dumping some real things they hack from Burisma. Let’s say they start dumping some fake things they didn’t hack from Burisma, but they want you to believe they did. Let’s say they start blatantly interfering in our election again to help Donald Trump. Can you have the least bit of confidence that Donald Trump will stand up to them and protect our national interest over his own personal interest? You know you can’t, which makes him dangerous to this country. You know you can’t. You know you can’t count on him. None of us can. None of us can. What happens if China got the message? Now you can say, he’s just joking of course. He didn’t really mean China should investigate the Bidens. You know that’s no joke.

Now maybe you could have argued three years ago when he said, “Hey Russia, if you’re listening, hack Hillary’s emails.” Maybe you could give him a freebie and say he was joking, but now we know better. Hours after he did that Russia did, in fact, try to hack Hillary’s emails. There’s no Mulligan here when it comes to our national security. So what if China does overtly or covertly start to help the Trump campaign? You think he’s going to call them out on it or you think he’s going to give them a better trade deal on it? Can any of us really have the confidence that Donald Trump will put his personal interests ahead of the national interests? Is there really any evidence in this presidency that should give us the iron-clad confidence that he would do so?

You know you can’t count on him to do that. That’s the sad truth. You know you can’t count on him to do that. The American people deserve a president they can count on to put their interests first, to put their interests first. Colonel Vindman said, “Here, right matters. Here, right matters.” Well, let me tell you something, if right doesn’t matter, if right doesn’t matter, it doesn’t matter how good the Constitution is. It doesn’t matter how brilliant the framers were. Doesn’t matter how good or bad our advocacy in this trial is. Doesn’t matter how well-written the Oath of Impartiality is. If right doesn’t matter, we’re lost. If the truth doesn’t matter, we’re lost. Framers couldn’t protect us from ourselves, if right and truth don’t matter. And you know that what he did was not right.

That’s what they do in the old country that Colonel Vindman’s father came from. Or the old country that my great grandfather came from, or the old countries that your ancestors came from, or maybe you came from. But here, right is supposed to matter. It’s what’s made us the greatest nation on earth. No Constitution can protect us, right doesn’t matter any more. And you know you can’t trust this president to do what’s right for this country. You can trust he will do what’s right for Donald Trump. He’ll do it now. He’s done it before. He’ll do it for the next several months. He’ll do it in the election if he’s allowed to. This is why if you find him guilty, you must find that he should be removed. Because right matters. Because right matters and the truth matters.

Otherwise, we are lost.

Adam Schiff Wants Trump Removed Because He Won’t Do “What’s Right For This Country”

When the never-ending impeachment trial of Donald Trump adjourned on Thursday, Congressman Adam Schiff explained why the President – who is accused of no crime – has to be removed from office.

Schiff said it is because of what Trump might do.

“You can’t trust this president to do what’s right for the country,” Schiff said. The Democrat also said Trump must be removed from office now, “before he continues his efforts to corrupt our next election.”

His argument assumes that if Trump wins again in 2020, the election results would be inherently tainted.

Democrats No. 1 Mission: Get Trump

Republicans have insisted that Democrats have looked for ways to attack Trump since day one. Of course, Democrats feign innocence. Yet, in his closing remarks Thursday night, Schiff was explicit that his party’s primary mission is to undermine Trump.

“Now, you may be asking how much damage can he really do in the next several months until the election?” Schiff said. “A lot. A lot of damage.”

Schiff continued, “Now, we just saw last week a report that Russia tried to hack or maybe did hack Burisma. OK? I don’t know if they got in; I’m trying to find out, my colleagues on the Intel committee, House and Senate, we’re trying to find out, did the Russians get in, what are the Russians’ plans and intentions?”

“But let’s say they got in,” he said. “And let’s say they start dumping documents to interfere in the next election — let’s say they start dumping some real things they hacked from Burisma; let’s say they start dumping some fake things they didn’t hack from Burisma but they want you to believe they did.”

“Let’s say they start blatantly interfering in our election again to help Donald Trump,” Schiff imagined. “Can you have the least bit of confidence that Donald Trump will stand up to them and protect our national interest over his own personal interest? You know you can’t.”

“Which makes him dangerous to this country,” Schiff insisted. “You know you can’t. You know you can’t count on him. None of us can. None of us can.”

Fear-Mongering Schiff

Schiff did not hesitate to spread fear even further.

“What happens if China got the message?” Schiff went on. ” Now you can say, well, he’s just joking, of course. He didn’t really mean China should investigate the Bidens. You know that’s no joke. Now maybe you could have argued three years ago, when he said, ‘Hey Russia, if you’re listening, hack Hillary’s emails.’ Maybe you could give him a freebee and say he was joking. But now we know better. Hours after he said that, Russia did indeed try to hack Hillary’s emails.”

“There’s no mulligan here when it comes to our national security,” Schiff said, alarmingly.

Schiff blathered on trying to frighten anyone willing to listen finally ending with this warning.

“If right doesn’t matter, we’re lost,” he said. “If the truth doesn’t matter, we’re lost. The Framers couldn’t protect us from ourselves if right and truth don’t matter. And you know that what he did was not right.”

The Mask Has Been Ripped Off Dems

Schiff and his party have been out to get Donald Trump through any means necessary from the beginning. This impeachment trial is simply their latest attempt, thus undermining its credibility severely.

Adam Schiff just said in plain English that his primary goal is to remove Trump, no matter the results of this trial. The mask has been ripped off.

Now, can we finally end this debacle and get on with the business of the country?

Trump Attorney: Not Simply Going on Defense, We’re Going to Attack the Democrats

Attorney to the President, Jay Sekulow, explained that the legal team isn’t content to offer a rebuttal to Democrats impeachment arguments, they plan on attacking them.

Sekulow made the comments during an appearance on ‘Fox and Friends First,’ where he accused the resistance party of selectively editing witness testimony to fit their argument that the President should be impeached and removed from office.

“Adam Schiff, who is the House management leader, has had a problem with the truth since he’s been holding these hearings in the House of Representatives, all the way back to the Mueller report,” Sekulow told viewers. “So, we will not, in a sense, it’s not a rebuttal.”

Instead, he added, “what we are going to do is attack.”

RELATED: Trey Gowdy Unloads On Adam Schiff’s ‘Wildly Stupid’ Trial Strategy

On the Offensive

Sekulow went on to suggest the President’s legal team would be more proactive than defensive when it came to swatting back the impeachment sham.

We will “attack all the misstatements, all of the half-played clips that didn’t play the entire clip, the entire statement, which ends up changing the entire meaning of what they tried to imply,” he said.

“I mean, how many times in those videos did you hear, did you see someone’s mouth keep going and the clip stop?”

Heck, we even saw it well before the impeachment trial got underway, as Democrats and their kindred spirits in the media doctored a phone transcript to turn a mundane phone conversation into something more nefarious.

Attack!

It shouldn’t be all that difficult for Trump’s team to dismantle the many lies coming out of Schiff, or Jerry Nadler, or any of the other Democrat impeachment team’s mouths.

Former South Carolina congressman Trey Gowdy chastised Schiff for presenting unto the American people a “wildly stupid trial strategy.”

Sekulow and his team will find their biggest challenge in getting the facts out to the American people.

President Trump took to social media to complain that his team is forced to present their case on a Saturday when it’s nearly guaranteed to audience will be much smaller.

Aside from that, there will be the usual media bias in which the legal team for the President is shut down if they make a good point.

Exhibit A:

Still, Sekulow believes they’ll get the message out.

“We’re going to make sure the American people and all one hundred U.S. senators get to see exactly what those Democrat witnesses – that’s all they were: 17 Democrat witnesses – what they had to say, in full,” he insisted.

“Because, what they had to say – in full – is on our side.”

Ted Cruz: Democrats Made ‘Very Serious Strategic Error,’ Hunter Biden Testimony Now Needed

This week, Senator Ted Cruz said Democrats made a “very serious strategic error” in making their case for removing President Donald Trump from office. And, that flub meant that testimony from Hunter Biden, 2020 Democratic Party presidential candidate Joe Biden’s son, was now necessary.

House Managers Made ‘Strategic Error’

“I think the House managers made a very serious strategic error today,” Cruz said to reporters. “Adam Schiff’s arguments to open the day today directly drew into question Hunter Biden and made not only his testimony relevant, which it already was, but it is now critical because the House Democrats have built their entire case on the proposition that any investigation into Burisma and corruption was a sham, that it was completely debunked.”

This is particularly interesting because Schiff has explicitly said including Hunter Biden in the trial was not only unnecessary, but would be an “abuse” of the impeachment process.

Cruz pressed on regarding the former vice president’s son.

RELATED: Hunter Biden’s Baby Mama Allegedly Paid by His Company

“The problem is there is very significant prima facie evidence of corruption,” Cruz continued. “Hunter Biden, the son of the then-sitting Vice President Joe Biden, was being paid $83,000 a month, a million dollars a year, this is someone with no background in oil and gas, no experience, and at the same time Joe Biden has publicly admitted that he threatened Ukraine, he withheld, or threatened to withhold a billion dollars of aid unless and until Ukraine fired the prosecutor that was potentially investigating the company on which his son served on the board.”

Hunter Biden’s employment by Burisma is curious to say the least.

Democrats are very curious about President Trump’s every move. Hunter Biden? Not so much.

We need to ‘hear the testimony of Hunter Biden’

Cruz added, “If the House managers case is based on the allegations of corruption concerning Hunter Biden and Joe Biden being a sham than it is directly relevant and I got to say the need for the Senate to hear the testimony of Hunter Biden and the need for the Senate to grant the White House lawyers the ability to take that testimony has become all the more relevant.”

Later, Cruz responded to comments made by House Judiciary Committee Chairman and impeachment manager Jerry Nadler during the Senate trial.

“One last observation: Yesterday, representative Nadler threw up great indignation and he said out of hundreds of thousands of Ukrainian companies, how can it be that President Trump was just concerned with this one, this one company Burisma?” Cruz said. “Well, the obvious answer that the House managers ignore is Burisma was the only Ukrainian company that had the son of the vice president that had real prima facie indications of American corruption.”

RELATED: Biden Says You Can’t Have Military Strikes Without Congressional Approval–the Exact Opposite of What He Said in 2008

The Democrats Case For Impeachment Is Getting Weaker By The Day

“We’re not talking about some abstract interest in any sort of corruption that might exist in Ukraine but if you have a sitting vice president making public policy decisions to benefit his family to the tune of a million bucks a year that raises a serious question of corruption and a president not only is justified in asking for that to be investigated, but has a responsibility to see that that’s investigated and that was a question not about Ukrainian corruption, but a question about American corruption and Ukraine being integral in helping investigate whether there was, in fact, American corruption,” Cruz said.

“I think we’re gonna hear another two and a half days of arguments from the House Democrats, but the longer they talk at this point, the weaker the case is getting,” Cruz concluded.

The Democrats case for the impeachment Donald Trump is getting weaker by the day. A Hunter Biden testimony could be its death knell.
