Logical question on impeachment had Speaker Mike Johnson changing the subject

House Speaker Mike Johnson took time away from being a homophobe to hold a press conference on Wednesday. He spent most of the time doing what Republican leaders usually do in front of a press corps: equivocate, change the subject, and spew a few empty talking points. In a video posted by reporter Aaron Rupar, Johnson is asked a pretty easy-to-answer question by a reporter.

Of course, the question gets considerably more difficult to answer when the logic of your position is as deplorable as the current Republican speaker’s.

Here’s what Johnson was asked:

The official act that was corrupt that Republicans are alleging today was that when he was vice president, Joe Biden pushed for the firing of a Ukrainian prosecutor—and this was the subject of the impeachment of Donald Trump—and you had a lot of State Department officials who came in and said, “This wasn't Joe Biden's policy. This was our policy. He didn't do this to benefit his son. He did this because we wanted him to do it.”

So did they all commit perjury, or are you going to bring them back for more interviews? Why are Republicans just ignoring all that testimony.

Johnson’s response is to change the subject. “Look, no one's ignoring testimony,” he said. “Let me tell you the top four pieces of evidence with regard to Biden, if I just give a bulletpoints here. From 2014 to 2019, Biden family members and their affiliated companies received over $15 million from foreign companies and foreign nationals.”

That’s $15 million over five years to anyone connected to Biden, got it! It isn’t great form to play whataboutism, but in this case, let’s remember that during the four years of Donald Trump’s disastrous administration, his daughter and son-in-law reportedly made more than half a billion dollars in “outside” income. Jared Kushner alone received more than $2 billion from Saudi nationals for a business where operations were considered “unsatisfactory.”

Johnson is out of his depth. In his defense, the entire Republican Party is drowning in a swamp of MAGA extremism and anti-democratic authoritarianism.

Instead of working on keeping government open, Marjorie Taylor Greene tries to impeach head of DHS

On Thursday, the Republican-led House decided that after having wasted weeks arguing about who should be their next speaker, they needed to take a nice long weekend. With eight days left to fund our government, the Republican Party still can’t get its act together long enough to pass anything.

Mere days before Veterans Day, while some House members used their time to commemorate U.S. veterans, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene stood up and spoke for a very long time—and introduced articles of impeachment against Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas for “high crimes and misdemeanors.”

This is nothing new for Greene, who has authored about a half-dozen articles of impeachment against Biden and others in his administration. On Tuesday, instead of working toward a Republican consensus to keep the government open, Greene passed an amendment to have Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg’s salary reduced to $1.

Greene is not alone. Targeting Mayorkas has been a way for conservatives to pretend the Biden administration has failed to secure America’s borders. Xenophobia and anti-immigrant sentiment appear to be the only things resembling policy for Republicans. The logic of how dismantling the U.S. government’s ability to operate will help improve … its operation … remains a mystery.

Did the Republicans vote on anything else?

With a Republican shutdown looming, the GOP seems able to produce only political theater aimed at hampering the government’s ability to serve the American people. This week’s election results suggest the American people have noticed.

Oklahoma schools chief shared misleading TikTok. It led to bomb threats

Oklahoma Democrats are demanding that Republican Superintendent of Public Instruction Ryan Walters be subjected to an impeachment probe due to fallout from his hate- and disinformation-filled social media posts. In a statement, they called on the Republican speaker of the House to investigate possible charges against Walters, and said, ”The safety of Oklahoma’s students and families depends on changes to the current situation.”

Walters recently retweeted a selectively cropped TikTok video posted by the hatemonger and conwoman behind a social media account called Libs of TikTok. The video showed a Union Public School District librarian Kirby Mackenzie with an overlay reading, “POV: teachers in your state are dropping like flies but you are still just not quite finished pushing your woke agenda at the public school.” Walters retweeted the post, adding: “The liberal media denies the issue. Even some Republicans hide from it. Woke ideology is real and I am here to stop it.”

That led to bomb threats on six consecutive days.

Of course, Libs of TikTok had cropped the original video to exclude the caption, which provided crucial context. The excluded text read, “My radical agenda is teaching kids to love books and be kind hbu?? I think I’m going to make one of these every year until i die or end my teaching era.” Mackenzie also included an emoji showing two hands making the shape of a heart.

Libs of TikTok’s account is operated by Chaya Raichik. There were good reasons Raichik’s account was suspended multiple times by what was then called Twitter, but it has found a new life being amplified on the X platform by billionaire Elon Musk. While Raichik’s bread and butter is spreading hate and endangering the lives of the LGBTQ+ community by harassing and doxxing educators she doesn’t agree with, she isn’t just homophobic: She’s bigoted across the board. Her recent work characterizing a get-together for families of color at an Oakland elementary school as some kind of attack on white people led to bomb threats at that school, as well.

The chances that the Republican supermajority in Oklahoma opens up an impeachment probe into Walter for helping provoke bomb threats against 16,000 Oklahoma children are nil. Republican House Speaker Charles McCall told NBC News, “Impeachment is not something that should be taken lightly, and the call by a group of House Democrats seems to be more of a ready, fire, aim approach.”

Before Walters sicced the world’s most grotesque social media account on Oklahoma’s children, he was openly posting about his intentions to defy Supreme Court decisions separating church and state in order to fund private religious schools. He recently embarrassed himself by trying to talk about Oklahoma history while pretending that race had nothing to do with the Tulsa Race Massacre.

He has spent his political career as a theocratic culture warrior. Unsurprisingly, he has been saving his biggest attacks for the predominantly Black Tulsa Public Schools system by threatening to take away its accreditation. Tulsa Public Schools is the largest school district in the state.

Here’s a video posted by davidhth showing Tulsa Public Schools Board President Stacey Woolley’s public statement about the matter.

Ryan Walters accusing teachers of a woke agenda is stirring hatred. Today, there was a third bomb threat after Walters retweeted a TikTok video made by a Tulsa librarian as a joke. Republicans Call for Impeachment of Biden’s DHS Chief Over Border Invasion

By Casey Harper (The Center Square)

A group of U.S. House Republicans on Tuesday called for the impeachment of Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas.

The lawmakers, led by U.S. Rep. Andy Biggs, R-Ariz., made their remarks during a news conference outside the Capitol Building, calling for Mayorkas’ impeachment amid the soaring number of illegal immigrants crossing into the U.S.

RELATED: Record Number of Border Apprehensions, Gotaways in November

“Every day he remains in office, America is less safe,” Biggs said.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection have released a steady stream of figures showing that the number of illegal immigrants entering through the southern border has soared to record levels since President Joe Biden took office.

Those numbers are poised to get worse. Trump-era Title 42 protections that allowed feds to expel migrants more quickly because of COVID-19 concerns are set to expire later this month, and experts predict a surge of illegal immigrants are awaiting that expiration.

Some areas, like El Paso, are seeing thousands of migrants cross over each day.

Those larger numbers of migrants have also brought large quantities of fentanyl, a deadly drug that is trafficked in the U.S. via cartels. Fentanyl overdoses have soared in recent years as well.

Some in the Senate have echoed the criticism of Mayorkas.

“The southern border has been an issue for a long time,” said Sen. Marsha Blackburn, R-Tenn. “Secretary Mayorkas only showed back up when the mainstream media caved and reported on the issue.”

MAGA Rep Marjorie Taylor Greene Calls For Biden’s Impeachment Following ‘President Butterbeans’ Divisive Speech

Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene called on President Biden to be impeached following his speech Thursday night in which he vilified “MAGA Republicans” as extremists and a “threat to this country.”

“Joe Biden just declared all of us enemies of the state. Biden is a danger to us all,” she tweeted from her official account. “Joe Biden must be impeached!”

Greene was incensed over the President’s remarks, posting various tweets in which she mocked Biden as “President Butterbeans” and compared the speech – including the blood red lighting behind him – to that of Hitler.

“They chose this imagery. It’s unreal,” she seethed. “Joe Biden is Hitler.”

That tweet included the hashtag ‘#NaziJoe.’

Marjorie Taylor Greene Wants Biden Impeached

In another social media post, the firebrand congresswoman shared a video in which Biden’s speech is altered to look like Hitler speaking in front of Nazi imagery.

“What we all saw tonight from Biden,” Greene wrote.

“I guess when President Butterbeans is frail, weak, and dementia ridden, the Hitler imagery was their attempt to make him look ‘tough’ while he declares war on half of America as enemies of the state.”

Just to be clear, it’s not real. I know that’s a ridiculous statement to have to make, but we also know full well the fact-checkers are going to write a column clarifying that Biden does not have a mustache and did not deliver a speech in German.

Biden, during his speech, did however declare that “Donald Trump and the MAGA Republicans represent an extremism that threatens the very foundations of our republic.”

“There is no question that the Republican Party today is dominated, driven, and intimidated by Donald Trump and the MAGA Republicans, and that is a threat to this country,” he added.

Biden Just Declared War on Half of America

President Biden’s speech was such an authoritarian production that criticism was everywhere.

Ohio Republican Senate nominee J.D. Vance accused Biden of “declaring war” on 74 million MAGA Republican voters.

“I just can’t imagine anything more divisive and more dangerous coming from a president who if he said anything during his campaign, it’s that he would unite the country,” Vance told Fox News. “This is not uniting at all. He’s declaring war effectively on half of the country.”

That’s saying something, considering Vance once viewed Donald Trump as either “a cynical asshole” or “America’s Hitler.”

Turns out – It was Biden all along.

Speaking of Trump, the main target of Biden’s divisive speech, he asked people to explain to the President what ‘MAGA’ stands for “slowly but passionately,” and suggested there were indications he was “suffering from late-stage dementia.”

Then there was this American hero who captured the thoughts of most sane people watching Biden’s speech.

This isn’t the first time Marjorie Taylor Greene has called on President Biden to be impeached. In fact, she’s one of only a few people with the stones to call for it every time he commits a heinous act, of which there have been many.

Just over a year ago, Greene introduced three impeachment resolutions against Biden, one focusing on his deadly withdrawal from Afghanistan, another involving the crisis at the border, and one more pointing to his extension of an eviction moratorium during the pandemic.

Now imagine a speech like that was delivered by Trump instead of ‘Dark Brandon.’

How many Democrats today would be accusing Trump of being a fascist and calling for his impeachment? And the thing about the Democrats – they’d actually follow through on it.

What are Republicans going to do? Anything?

What Biden did last night was effectively call for a civil war in this country. He spoke from the standpoint of a true fascist. He did everything Trump has been accused of doing by the media.

And it’s nothing new. He’s been calling Republicans “ultra-MAGA” for some time. He essentially called people who wanted kids unmasked and to be able to attend school in person Neanderthals. He launched his Justice Department against parents by equating them to ‘domestic terrorists.’

Biden should be impeached. It should have happened a long time ago. But it better happen if Republicans take back the House.

Republican Tom Rice gives long interview, calls Trump some pretty bad names

Republican Rep. Tom Rice of South Carolina was one of the architects of the enormous tax breaks for the rich that the Republican Party passed during the Trump administration. While it was wildly unpopular and led almost entirely to further extremes in wealth inequality in our country, it may be considered the only piece of Republican legislation to actually be passed during all of the years the GOP enjoyed majority control under Trump. This, of course, is not good enough for the more fascist wing of the Republican Party, and after Donald Trump’s attempts to orchestrate a coup d’etat fell through, Rep. Rice found himself among the 10 Republican representatives who voted for his impeachment.

To be crystal-clear here: Rep. Rice is the only one of the 10 Republicans to vote for impeachment that also voted against certifying the results of 2020 election. He subsequently told reporters, months later, that while he still has reservations about the results of the presidential election, he regrets his anti-certification vote, and felt it was clear that “President Trump was responsible for the attack on the U.S. Capitol.” This means that in 2022, Rice is persona non grata among wannabe fascist henchmen like craven Republican Rep. Kevin McCarthy and others.

Rice is facing a backlash and a Donald Trump rally-machine that has continued to call him a Benedict Arnold to the MAGA-Nazi movement. Trump has endorsed GOP primary candidates against Rice and has traded public jabs with him, with Trump calling Rice a “disaster” while Rice called Trump a “would-be tyrant.”

As a result of the orange-grey-haired elephant in the room, Rice has tried to remind his blood-red congressional district that he is the same misinformation-peddling anti-masker who has called COVID-19 the “Wuhan flu,” like every other racist shitheel in his Party. He has tried to remind everyone that he basically voted with Donald Trump all of the time and has done his part to vote with his fellow Republicans against popular legislation and emergency aid for front line workers. He even voted in support of Marjorie Taylor Greene to keep her committee assignments, in a showing of non-accountability for promoting blatantly white supremacist ideologies and conspiracy theories.

Listen and subscribe to Daily Kos Elections’ The Downballot podcast with David Nir and David Beard

Depending on whose polling you go by, the primary race for Rice’s 7th Congressional District is going great for him … or his opponent. So Rice, like Reps. Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger, has decided to lean into bashing Trump while attempting to remind the GOP’s base that Donald Trump is just the bluntest version of what Rice and the rest of the Republican Party have always been.

On Sunday, Rep. Rice did an interview with ABC News’ Chief Washington Correspondent Jonathan Karl to help promote himself, as well as further explain why Donald Trump is sort of a terrible person. The interview was a pretty softball one (you can watch below) where Karl attempts to paint Rice as some kind of maverick. It’s a bit embarrassing, honestly. That being said, Rice does a solid job of pointing out that Donald Trump did to try and orchestrate the overthrow of the government, and that when the Capitol building was being invaded by his followers and conspirators, Trump didn’t do a single thing to protect the legislative branch of the U.S. government. In fact, he didn’t even do anything to protect his own vice president.

“When he watched the Capitol, the ‘People's House,’ being sacked, when he watched the Capitol Police officers being beaten for three or four hours and lifted not one thing or to stop it -- I was livid then and I’m livid today about it,” Rice recalled. “And it was very clear to me I took an oath to protect the Constitution.”

Rice also points out that while Donald Trump has publicly called him a “disaster” who lacks the respect of his fellow GOP operatives, he was a good little foot soldier to the Donald, until he wasn’t: “If I am a ‘disaster,’ and a ‘total fool’ and I voted with him 169 times out of 184, what does that make him? I was following his lead.”

Here is where we see the limitations of the modern Republican Party, and more specifically, the neocon wing of the Party that is hoping to retain control while waiting for Trump to pass. Rice told ABC News that he hopes Trump does not run for office again. But his hope has nothing to do with what’s good for the country. It’s not simply because Trump is, in Rice’s words “ a narcissist, and he’s driven by attention, and he’s driven by revenge.” It isn’t because Trump should be in jail or on trial for treason, but because “We’ll [the GOP] get painted more in the corner of extremism, they'll try to label us as extremist. And he’ll feed that.”

Asked about whether or not he would support a Kevin McCarthy speakership if the GOP took majority control of the House in November, Rice was equally mushy-mouthed, saying, “We’ll see what happens.”

Nearly 70% Of Republicans Want Biden Impeached After 2022 Midterm Elections

As the November midterm elections inch closer, Americans’ struggle everyday with inflation and increasing gas and food prices with no end in sight.

Needless to say, that doesn’t bode well for those who are in charge – but it also has the effect of energizing the opposition.

A new UMass Amherst/YouGov poll shows that should Republicans retake Congress this fall after the midterm election, 68% of Republicans want President Joe Biden impeached.

And if the nation’s economic woes continue, that number is likely to climb.

RELATED: Hillary Clinton’s Campaign Manager Drops Bombshell Admission That She Personally Approved Press Leak Of Trump-Russia Allegation

Poll Highlights

Of those polled, over two-thirds of Republicans want Biden charged with “treason, bribery, or other high crimes and misdemeanors.”

As many would guess, the issue that’s by far top-of-mind for most voters is the economy. (Though for Democrat voters, while the economy takes top billing at 22%, the next ‘most important issue’ is ‘climate change’ at 20%.)

Immigration takes second billing, followed by abortion and health care.

Broken down by party, the top issues for Republican voters are the economy, immigration, and abortion.

For Democrats, it’s the economy, climate change, and abortion.

For independents: the economy, health care, and immigration.

‘Multiple Grounds’

The way the Republicans see it, there are plenty of reasons to bring charges of impeachment against Joe Biden, and it has been talked about for a while.

Back in January on his podcast, Texas Senator Ted Cruz gave one of the strongest arguments for a Biden impeachment:

“Probably the most compelling is the utter lawlessness of President Biden’s refusal to enforce the border. His decision to just defy federal immigration laws and allow 2 million people to come here unimpeded in direct contravention of his obligation under Article 2 of the Constitution to take care that the laws be faithfully executed. That is probably the strongest grounds right now for impeachment, but there may be others.”

Even as far back as fall of 2021, a group of Republicans did file articles of impeachment after the disastrous pullout of American forces from Afghanistan. Rep. Bob Gibbs (R-OH) tweeted at the time,

“I filed articles of impeachment against @POTUS based on what I believe to be clear violations of his duties. There are dynamics in Congress preventing this from being debated. But I could not stand by while Biden commits flagrant & deliberate violations of his oath of office.”

Several other items that could trigger impeachment proceedings are possible hearings looking into the foreign business dealings of Biden’s son Hunter, and what if any involvement the President had in those deals.

Other Biden Worries

Joe Biden and the Democrats have plenty to worry about way before any impeachment proceedings. A new Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Research poll shows Biden’s approval ratings at a dismal 39%.

When broken down by issues, the numbers are still as bad. On things like the economy and the Russian-Ukraine conflict, more Americans disapprove of Biden’s job performance than approve.

Joe Biden is also rapidly losing a previously reliable Democrat demographic. Approval among Hispanics has dropped to 26%, while a whopping 60% disapprove.

Rep. Bob Good of Virginia may have given the best insight into what Republicans plans might be if they win big in 2022. He stated,

“I believe Joe Biden has intentionally done more to harm the country than any president in American history with the border situation. He deserves to be impeached for that alone, let alone anything else.”

Report: George W. Bush Donating To Republicans Who Voted To Impeach Trump

George W. Bush made donations to two Republican congresswomen who voted to impeach Donald Trump over the January 6 riot at the Capitol.

The revelation comes via Politico, which reports that maximum allowable amounts were donated by Bush to Representative Liz Cheney (R-WY) and Senator Lisa Murkowski’s (R-AK) re-election campaigns late last year.

The outlet reports that while Bush has donated in the past to numerous Republican candidates, the $5,800 to Cheney and $2,900 to Murkowski appear to be his “first donations of 2021” and “are significant in their symbolism.”

Cheney and Murkowski are both facing primary challengers endorsed by former President Trump after they voted in favor of a second impeachment for his alleged role in inciting the Capitol riot.

Bush Vs. Trump

Liz Cheney is the daughter of Bush’s vice president, Dick Cheney, and as such, it may not come as much of a surprise that the former President donated to her campaign.

That said, FEC records show his contribution to Murkowski, long considered a more liberal Republican, marks the first of its kind.

Trump endorsed Republican Kelly Tshibaka in the Alaska Republican primary against Murkowski, but also curiously lent support to Harriet Hageman, the Wyoming attorney running against Cheney.

Hageman tried to stop Trump from getting the Republican nomination in 2016, and called him “racist and xenophobic.”

Headlines Cheney Fundraiser

Bush appeared at a fundraiser for Liz Cheney back in October, despite her only current platform being constant opposition and criticism of Donald Trump.

Along with the former President, attendees reportedly included former Bush advisors Karl Rove and Karen Hughes, and also former U.S. ambassador to NATO and Texas Senator, Kay Bailey Hutchison.

Trump ripped Bush and Rove in a statement upon learning of the fundraiser.

“RINO former President George ‘Dubya’ Bush and his flunky Karl Rove are endorsing warmongering and very low polling, Liz Cheney,” the statement read.

Trump went on to say Bush’s ‘stupid’ actions in the Middle East resulted in decades-long wars with no clear objective and astronomical costs.

“Bush is the one who got us into the quicksand of the Middle East and, after spending trillions of dollars and killing nearly a million people, the Middle East was left in worse shape after 21 years than it was when he started his stupidity,” he said.

His foreign policy blunders culminated in a disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan under the purview of President Biden in August.

Cheney has been a source of irritation for conservatives and supporters of Trump, preening for Democrats as a savior of the republic following the Capitol riot on January 6th.

“President Bush is impressed by Liz Cheney’s strength and vision, and he’s proud to support her,” a spokesman for Bush told CNBC in September.

The former President has also echoed Cheney in expressing outrage over the January 6th riot.

“It did make me sick. I felt ill. And I just couldn’t believe it,” Bush said. “What’s really troubling is how much misinformation there is and the capacity of people to spread all kinds of untruth.”

He even seemed to equate Trump supporters at the Capitol to Islamic extremists who carried out 9/11 – on the 20th anniversary of the attacks that took place when he was President.

“There is little cultural overlap between violent extremists abroad and violent extremists at home,” Bush said.

“But in their disdain for pluralism, in their disregard for human life, in their determination to defile national symbols, they are children of the same foul spirit.”

Bush, aside from supporting Never Trump Republicans, has said he would like to see a presidential candidate for the GOP in 2024 with pro-gun control and pro-amnesty views.

“Bush remained hopeful that a more moderate Republican — one who supported reasonable gun reform measures, increased public school funding and a path to citizenship for undocumented workers … could succeed in the party’s 2024 presidential primary,” Politico reported.

Fox News’ Janice Dean Demands ‘Monster’ Andrew Cuomo Be Impeached By NY Assembly

Fox News meteorologist Janice Dean spoke out on Tuesday to say that the New York Assembly needs to impeach Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D-NY) after an independent investigation found that he allegedly sexually harassed several current and former employees.

Backstory: New York AG Announces Gov. Cuomo Sexually Harassed Multiple Women

Dean Calls Out Cuomo

“I have always said that I don’t care what brings him down, and to these strong women today, I stand with you, I am holding your hand in unity,” Dean said. “Brave, brave women that came forward. You know, it just shows you the power and abuse that this man thought he had, and he’s been doing it for years now.”

“I have been fighting for justice for my in-laws since May of last year when we found out he was putting COVID positive patience in a nursing home, and then he covered up the numbers for months and months to sell a $5.1 million book to celebrate himself in the middle of a pandemic,” she added.

“There is not only the sexual assault and harassment charges, but we are still waiting for justice when it comes to over 15,000 seniors that died in nursing homes,” Dean continued. “I think that’s due in part to his March 25th order to put effective patience into nursing homes.”

Dean Doubles Down

“Not only that, we had the VIP COVID test he was giving to his brother and families, while nursing homes could not get any to test incoming patience,” she stated. “There are state resources he used for that $5.1 million book and so many other scandals that plague this governor. Today I embrace, I salute, I thank the Lord for these women that were brave enough to tell their stories and show what a monster this man is.”

“I think it’s up to Carl Heastie and the Assembly in Albany to get their impeachment in line,” Dean added. “They have enough to impeach this governor. They’ve had enough for weeks, and they continue to stonewall. Now is the time to get the impeachment going.”

“And we need those lawmakers to stand up. They have been stonewalling. They have been weak. They have been waiting to really find out from this attorney general to see how damning this report will be. Well, you’ve got your proof, now’s the time to put it in writing.”

Report: 9 Of The 10 Republicans Who Voted To Impeach Trump Facing Primary Challengers

Nine out of the 10 Republican lawmakers who voted to impeach former President Donald Trump are facing primary challenges for their congressional seats.

Fox News reports that a majority of those who joined Democrats and the media circus during the second impeachment trial are facing a “barrage of pro-Trump primary challengers.”

“Some of them,” like Reps. Liz Cheney (R-WY) and Adam Kinzinger (R-IL), according to Fox, “may have a very hard time holding on to their seats.”

The former President has vowed to back challengers to any Republicans who voted in favor of impeachment as they gear up for a fight in 2022.

RELATED: NRCC Chair Warns Trump Against Backing Primary Challenges

Republicans Who Voted To Impeach Trump Face Challenges

Cheney and Kinzinger both represent the higher-profile Republicans who voted to impeach former President Trump.

Cheney last month called for a criminal investigation into Trump and the events surrounding the Capitol riot back in January.

“Certainly any president who did what we know this former president did has got to be investigated criminally,” she said in an interview with NBC’s Today Show.

Cheney, behind insistence from the former President, was ousted from her leadership role in the GOP and replaced by Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY) as the House Republican conference chair.

Kinzinger, meanwhile, has become a darling of the mainstream and liberal media.

He recently referred to Republican colleagues who have suggested the Capitol protest wasn’t as bad as the media has made it out to be as “something you see out of North Korea.”

RELATED: Liz Cheney Calls For Criminal Investigation Into Trump

Trump’s Ready To Fight

Fox News reports that the only Republican who voted to impeach Trump that isn’t facing a primary challenger is Rep. John Katko (R-NY).

They write that Katko “appeared to get back into good graces with GOP leadership quickly after his impeachment vote” and noted “he was one of the faces of a border trip” with House Republicans earlier this year.

He did, however, join Cheney, Kinzinger, and the other Republicans who voted to impeach Trump, in also voting to establish a “9/11-style” commission to investigate the Capitol protests.

In April, CNBC revealed that Trump’s leadership PAC “Save America” has $85 million on hand heading into the midterms, something one person with knowledge of the matter describes as a “gargantuan sum of cash.”

Another report indicates Trump is teaming up with Newt Gingrich on a new ‘MAGA doctrine’ for the Republican Party, using the famed “Contract with America” as a framework.

The original ‘Contract With America’ was instrumental for the GOP in 1994, helping propel the party to a pickup of 52 House seats and 9 seats in the Senate.

In 2022, the GOP needs five House seats and one Senate seat in 2022 to regain control of each respective chamber.

Trump is clearly gearing up for a fight to unseat these Republicans who voted to impeach him. Will it translate to regaining the House and Senate during the second half of President Biden’s term?
