Rand Paul to Trump: Revoke John Bolton’s Security Clearance

On Saturday, Republican Senator Rand Paul recommended that President Trump remove the security clearance of former national security adviser John Bolton.

‘No one… should be able to use their security clearance for profit!’

Paul tweeted, “No one, especially not John Bolton, should be able to use their security clearance for profit! I say revoke his clearance now ⁦@realDonaldTrump.”

RELATED: Rand Paul Slams Chuck Schumer, Says Trump Should Sue Him for Defamation

The senator’s tweet was accompanied by a RealClearPolitics article that analyzed how Bolton’s security clearance could be at risk once the impeachment trial is over. The article cites two anonymous government officials saying that the removal of Bolton’s clearance is an “almost certainty.”

Paul a Harsh Critic of Bolton

Paul has been a harsh critic of Bolton’s foreign policy ideas, which he believes go against Trump’s “America First” foreign policy, in which the U.S. is no longer the policemen of the world. Paul has called Bolton’s foreign policy agenda “naive,” and blasted the former ambassador in a witty tweet a few days ago.

“Why didn’t John Bolton testify to the US House? Apparently his book wasn’t quite finished yet for presales!” Paul tweeted Monday.

Many believe Bolton’s book contains damaging information that could hurt President Trump. The book is currently only a manuscript, and Bolton reportedly received a $2 million advance.

President Trump has referred to the book as “nasty” and “untrue.”

Trump Could End Up Agreeing with Paul

Is John Bolton, the Democrats new hero, some sort of truth teller? Or is he smearing President Trump to make a buck as Sen. Paul alleges? $2 million is a lot of bucks.

Either way, someone who is a former national security adviser probably shouldn’t have national security clearance. It wouldn’t be surprising if President Trump ends up agreeing with Rand Paul on this issue.

CPAC Disinvites Mitt Romney After He Votes For New Witnesses In Trump Impeachment Trial

By PoliZette Staff | February 1, 2020

Sen. Mitt Romney (R-Utah), who was the Republican presidential nominee in 2012, got some bad news on Friday when he was officially disinvited from the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC).

Matt Schlapp, chairman of the American Conservative Union, took to Twitter on Friday to say that Romney had been disinviting from the conservative event.

CPAC cut all ties with Romney after the senator voted to allow new witnesses in the impeachment trial of President Donald Trump, according to The Blaze. Romney and Senator Susan Collins (R-Maine) were the only two Republicans  to join Democrats in voting for more witnesses and evidence. Prior to the vote, a spokesman for Romney said that the senator “has said, he wants to hear from Ambassador Bolton, and he will vote in favor of the motion today to consider witnesses.”

Related: Trump Wins Witness Vote 51-49, Acquittal Looks Solid

Unfortunately for Romney, Democrats needed four Republicans to join them in this vote, so it’s likely that the impeachment trial will come to an end on Wednesday.

As Romney faced backlash on social media for his actions, Sen. Mike Lee (R-Utah) defended him on Twitter.

“Mitt Romney is a good friend and an excellent Senator. We have disagreed about a lot in this trial. But he has my respect for the thoughtfulness, integrity, and guts he has shown throughout this process,” Lee said. “Utah and the Senate are lucky to have him.”

It’s unfortunate that Romney has turned into a Never Trumper who would rather see our country fail than see Trump succeed. If he is going to take such drastic action against the Republican president, he should not be surprised if more conservative groups cut ties with him going forward.

Highlights from the first two weeks of the Republican Party’s sham impeachment trial

Two weeks of history came to something of a head on Friday. The Senate Impeachment trial, while a coverup orchestrated by the Republican Party, is also a historic attempt by American patriots to begin the process of fixing a corrupted executive branch before irreparable damage is done. Lead House Manager Adam Schiff began by explaining the seriousness of the charges against Donald Trump.

x

And then a quick reminder of how Sen. Mitch McConnell and the rest of the Republican party has hamstrung this essential Democratic process,

x

House Manager Jerrold Nadler from New York spoke on the Senate floor on Thursday, and brought some receipts. First the fact that the evidence is overwhelming.

x

And then a relentless barrage of video showing that the conservatives arguing on Trump’s behalf, with names like Alan Dershowitz and Lindsey Graham, arguing the absolute opposite just a few years ago.

x

One of the most glaring realities of the “perfect” phone call, and subsequent statements about Trump’s personal interest in getting an investigation started into the Bidens is the fact that he didn’t care if there were actual investigations into corruption … just the perception of investigations.

x

Schiff came back and delivered what many called an “historic” 30-minute closing argument to end day two of the Senate Impeachment trial. The final eight minutes included a powerfully stark reminder of what is at stake.

x x YouTube Video

On Friday, House Manager Hakeem Jeffries once again reminded the world that this is not a partisan process—at least it is not supposed to be one.

x

On Saturday, the Republican Party—who has made this a thoroughly partisan procedure—had their chance to begin the defense of Donald Trump. As all the president’s men began their disinformation campaign to muddy the waters with conspiracy theories, news began circulating of an almost 90-minute long audio tape purportedly secretly recorded by Igor Fruman and Lev Parnas. Highlights included Trump angrily saying he wanted people to “get rid of” then-Ambassador to Ukraine Marie Yovanovitch. Besides the myriad questions this should bring to anyone’s mind didn’t seem to faze Republican lawmakers: 1) Does Donald Trump not realize he has the right, as president, to replace her, and if he does 2) What was he suggesting be done with Yovanovitch, and 3) What kind of crap national security is being run if any dubious character can record the president secretly for almost 90 minutes?

On Sunday, news came out that former Ambassador John Bolton’s new memoir would feature smoking gun statements of Trump’s guilt in the Ukraine affair. Calls for witness testimony were reinvigorated. It would seem that allowing for such testimony as Bolton’s would be a fait accompli but, with the republic under fire from inside, there is nothing we can take for granted.

x

This, of course, was followed by the deafening silence of Republican officials, and vitriol on Twitter from the the chief executive of our country. On Monday, all the president’s men went back to their posts to defend the indefensible. This might have to do with their fear of their fearful leader. Who is more cowardly, the coward or the cowards afraid of him? And while they went to work, trying to figure out what to do about the John Bolton-sized elephant in the room, the Trump defense spewed lie after lie after lie.

x

Oops. Sorry, that’s a different Republican Senator clearly from an alternate reality.

x

x

x

It is hard to sum up how outrageous the Trump-defense presentation on Monday was.

x

A considerable amount of Monday’s “defense” was dedicated to figuring out ways to use old-fashioned phraseology that could be succinctly grabbed for headlines. Words like “poppycock” provided the deepest defense Trump’s team had to offer. The day ended with a promise of one thing, though.

x

To place you in time, Monday also included Iowa Sen. Jodi Ernst embarrassing herself in remarkable fashion.

x

By Tuesday it became more and more clear that the leaked John Bolton manuscript was becoming too hard to control and witnesses would likely need to be called in to testify. However, the plan for Republican leadership at this point was how best to hide testimony from the public, so that the rightwing propaganda machine could more easily lie about the framing and characterization of said testimonies. The summary of Trump’s defense by the end of Tuesday was best summarized by Steve Vladeck.

x

By the end of Tuesday, Republican Majority Leader McConnell had brought fellow GOP senators into his lair for a closed-door session, to discuss whether or not they had the votes to stop witnesses from actually being called during this “trial.” Reports from numerous media outlets contradicted one another, with the Wall Street Journal and The Washington Post reporting that McConnell did not have the votes secured to stop something resembling a real impeachment trial from breaking out, while Politico and The New York Times’ Maggie Haberman saying he did.

By Wednesday morning, it seemed that the Republican Party was exactly where they’ve always been—inside of Donald Trump’s pocket. The White House, after telling everybody that John Bolton’s memoir meant nothing, decided to threaten legal action against Bolton and his publisher. Republican leadership sent out the new day’s talking points which consisted of admitting that Donald Trump did indeed hold up money in order to force Ukraine to publicly “investigate” a political rival, but … so what? “#WeWantWitnesses” went viral as protestors descended upon our nation’s capital.

x

And then the questions began:

Sens. Lindsey Graham and Ted Cruz thought they were able to put together a real stumper, using the old Obama whataboutism.

x

Trump attorney Dershowitz took the fragments of what was left of his career and integrity and flushed them down the drain of history, by arguing that a president couldn’t be impeached for crimes, because his belief in himself as being awesome made it not a crime. The law scholar he repeatedly cited during this extraordinary argument went on television and also wrote an op-ed in The New York Times to say that Alan Dershowitz was as full of shit as you suspected him to be.

Meanwhile, news broke that Chief Justice Roberts had denied Republicans from outing the “whistleblower,” in the most cowardly fashion available to them: by getting Chief Justice Roberts to read their name as one of the submitted questions. Chief coward amongst them, Sen. Rand Paul.

Lead Manager Schiff  presented the Joseph Heller-level Catch-22 breaking news story of Trump’s Department of Justice, arguing in federal court—resisting subpoenas—that a president can’t be impeached by the House if they cannot be in court to fight for subpoenas … because they are in the Senate making their case for impeachment. “You can’t make this stuff up.”

x

And sadly, none of us have made any of this up. It’s just the lazy writing of corruption and cowardice and incompetence. Americans rolled out of their beds on Friday to news that Sens. Lisa Murkowski, Lamar Alexander, and Cory Gardner—all possible swing votes—were all in agreement that there was no such thing as crime. Just as Donald Trump’s new favorite lawyer Alan Dershowitz instructed. The rest of the day was filled with the bad, illogical theater one has come to expect from this Republican Party. Sen. Murkowski voted against new witnesses and new evidence, even with Bolton revelation after Bolton revelation getting leaked to the public. Her statement on the matter should truly disabuse anyone of the belief that Lisa Murkowski is anything but a corrupt tool of a politician, with zero ethical convictions whatsoever.

x

#RIPAmerica began trending on Twitter.

x

And the cowards we have come to know under Donald Trump continued to fly their bright yellow colors.

x

The Republican Party made their decision clear. Our democracy means far less to them than the promise of short-term power. As Friday wore down, we were left with murmurs of amendments and promises of votes to come.

x

In the end, this was the takeaway for next week, when the United States Senate, led by the Republican Party, decide to set the precedent that a president can be corrupt as long as he—and they are definitely talking about a man—thinks it is in his best interests to be corrupt.

x

But before the very end of Friday, Republican Senators all stepped up to write the first line of their obituaries, voting to nix witnesses and to block five amendments Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer put up.

Commiserate below in the comments. If you feel up to it.

Senator Hirono: Trump ‘Believes He Is King Now’ — ‘I Think Our Country Is in Great Danger’

In the wake of Sen. Lamar Alexander announcing that he would not vote to allow witnesses in President Donald Trump’s ongoing senate impeachment trial, his fellow Senator Mazie Hirono of Hawaii criticized the direction of the trial, which looks likely to end in an acquittal.

Appearing on MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow, Hirono said that Trump seems to think he is “king” as a result of the trial’s looming outcome.

Hirono Claims Trump Will Face Impeachment as ‘Every Turn’

“[T]his is the last response for these two days of questions and answers that I got from the president’s team, and that is, ‘Let’s just assume he did it. So what?’” Hirono said. “And I’ve been saying for a long time that’s probably what they’re going to end up with — you can say all of these things, but so what? The ‘so what’ means that this president, who believes that he can do anything he wants under Article 2 of the Constitution, will continue to go forward.”

“And I tell you, what the Trump team said, ‘Oh well you’re going to impeach him and convict him for what he did,’ that means this president is going to be facing impeachment at every turn,” Hirono continued.

‘I think our country is in great danger’

“What they really are afraid of is this president unfettered without a conviction means that he’s going to be doing a lot more stuff that will subject him to impeachment because that is what this guy is. He believes he is king now,” she added.

“I think our country is in great danger,” Hirono finished.

RELATED: Democrats Begin to Meltdown as Their Loss Looms

The Democrats are Dangerous – Not Trump

This is comical. Does Hirono not think their lengthy and ridiculous impeachment push has taken everyone’s focus off of important policy issues–to the detriment of the country?

Couldn’t that be considered “dangerous?”

And while Hirono and other Democrats think Trump behaves like a king, they have busily invested everything they have into overturning the 2016 election.

Guess what other kind of figure might seek to undo the will of the people. Kings. Tyrants. Dictators.

All the things Dems continue to accuse Trump of being.

So before another Democrat accuses Donald Trump of being a “king” or having a heavy hand, they might want to look in the mirror.

Chief Justice Roberts Visibly Irritated With Warren’s Suggestion His Legitimacy is Tainted Over Impeachment Trial

Chief Justice John Roberts became visibly agitated after having to read a question from Senator Elizabeth Warren which suggested the legitimacy of the Supreme Court, the Constitution, and his own career would be tainted following the impeachment trial.

Roberts had to read the question aloud – as he has throughout the trial with one notable exception – which insinuated an acquittal of President Donald Trump would lead to a loss of faith in major institutions of American government.

“Mr. Chief Justice, I send a question to the desk,” Warren declared from the floor of the Senate.

“At a time when large majorities of Americans have lost faith in government,” Roberts read, “does the fact that the chief justice is presiding over an impeachment trial in which Republican senators have thus far refused to allow witnesses or evidence contribute to the loss of legitimacy of the chief justice, the Supreme Court, and the Constitution?”

RELATED: SHOWDOWN: Rand Paul Vows to Fight after Justice John Roberts Blocks Question Naming Whistleblower

Roberts Angered

It’s difficult to say what Warren’s plan was here. Angering Roberts and the rest of the justices on the Supreme Court when you’re running for President seems unwise at best.

Fox News reports that upon finishing the question, Roberts became “visibly irritated” and “pursed his lips and shot a chagrined look.”

If we’re being honest, isn’t that how we all feel when listening to Senator Warren?

Perhaps Warren is paving the way for a proposal getting legs amongst extremist liberals who wish to abolish the Supreme Court in the era of Trump.

“The Court is now a blunt political instrument, used repeatedly to undermine outcomes of democratic governance — often on behalf of corporate interests,” leftist outlet Vox claimed, adding that “the Brett Kavanaugh confirmation has further delegitimized the Court in the public’s mind.”

Warren herself has proposed ‘packing’ the court with many more Justices as a means to lessen the influence of Presidential appointments, a move explicitly aimed at minimizing Trump’s victories after the Kavanaugh debacle.

“It’s not just about expansion, it’s about depoliticizing the Supreme Court,” she claimed.

Even Schiff Wouldn’t Go There

Upon reading the question directed at Democrat impeachment managers, House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff stepped up to the microphone and promptly ran as far away from Warren as he possibly could.

“Senator, I uh, would not say that it contributes to a loss of confidence in the Chief Justice,” Schiff replied. “I think the Chief Justice has presided admirably.”

What he did suggest would be affected adversely, however, is the nation as a whole.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has expanded on this notion that a trial without fabricating new witnesses eliminates the legitimacy of the presidency.

“He will not be acquitted,” she said realizing he is on the verge of being acquitted.

“You cannot be acquitted if you don’t have a trial,” Pelosi continued. “You don’t have a trial if you don’t have witnesses and documentation and all of that. Does the president know right from wrong? I don’t think so.”

Adam Schiff Claims ‘I Don’t Know Who the Whistleblower Is’

On Wednesday, House Intelligence Chairman Adam Schiff insisted that he did not know the identity of the so-called “whistleblower” who filed the original complaint about President Donald Trump that led to the impeachment trial.

‘I don’t know who the whistleblower is’

“First of all, I don’t know who the whistleblower is, I haven’t met them or communicated with them in any way,” Schiff said Wednesday during the Senate impeachment trial.

What Schiff failed to mention was that the “whistleblower” approached a House Intelligence Committee aide with supposed details about Trump’s phone call with Ukranian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

The New York Times reported that a Schiff committee staffer told the “whistleblower” to meet with the inspector general and file a whistleblower complaint.

Schiff Denies His Staff Did Anything to Help Whistleblower

Yet Schiff is still denying that any member of his staff did anything to help the “whistleblower.”

“The committee staff did not write the complaint or coach the whistleblower what to put in the complaint,” Schiff said.

Schiff condemned what he called a “conspiracy theory” that someone on his committee staff allegedly “colluded” with the whistleblower to craft a complaint that launched the impeachment investigation.

A spokesman for Schiff told the NYT that the whistleblower, “contacted the committee for guidance on how to report possible wrongdoing within the jurisdiction of the intelligence community.”

Schiff said his staff has shown “complete professionalism,” adding that members of his staff had become subject to threats on social media thanks to “smears” committed by President Trump and his allies.

Schiff Vowed Not to Reveal Identity

Schiff vowed he would not do anything to reveal or endanger the identity of the “whistleblower” as the trial continues.

Republican Congresswoman Elise Stefanik of New York accused Schiff on Twitter of lying about the “whistleblower.”

“Stunning that Adam Schiff lies to millions of Americans when he says he doesn’t know the identity of the whistleblower,” she wrote. “He absolutely knows the identity of the whistleblower because he coordinated with the individual before the whistleblower’s complaint! His staff helped write it!”

RELATED: ‘This Ain’t Over’: Doug Collins Challenges Schiff To Testify About Whistleblower

Many Republicans have called for the “whistleblower” to testify as part of the impeachment process, with Schiff repeatedly refusing at each turn.

On Wednesday, Schiff told the Senate that the “whistleblower” testifying was no longer relevant because President Trump released the transcript of the call.

“There’s no need for that whistleblower any more except to further endanger that person’s life,” Schiff said.

‘The Daily Show’ Sends Truck to Washington D.C. to Play Video Of Trump Blasting Senators

By PopZette Staff | January 29, 2020

There was a time when “The Daily Show” was a humorous program that would offer funny takes on news stories of the day. Unfortunately, however, those days are long gone, as “The Daily Show” has devolved into just another bitterly leftwing television program that is hellbent on destroying President Donald Trump.

“The Daily Show” showed it’s anti-Trump bias once again this week by hiring a black truck with a large TV screen on it’s side to drive around Washington D.C. playing videos of the president insulting U.S. senators as they prepare to decide his fate in his impeachment trial. The video of Trump’s insults plays on a never-ending loop, with host Trevor Noah sometimes jumping in to address the senators personally.

RELATED: ‘The View’ Goes Off The Rails As Impeachment Lawyer Alan Dershowitz ‘Triggers’ Hosts By Defending Trump

“As a juror, the most important thing is to remain impartial,” he can be seen saying. “The following remarks by the defendant should not be considered when rendering your verdict.”

Given the fact that the Senate is controlled by Republicans, there is virtually no chance that they will vote to impeach Trump, so this is an enormous waste of time and money. That doesn’t matter at all to the liberals behind “The Daily Show,” however, as they are relishing the opportunity to get in their immature digs at Trump.

“It’s just funny and ironic to see that [Trump’s] fate now rests in these senators’ hands, after he spent all this time insulting them and calling them names,” Ramin Hedayti, a supervising producer at “The Daily Show,” told The Washingtonian.

It was Hedayti who came up with this ridiculous idea during the first few days of the impeachment trial.

“Once the [impeachment] trial started, we just got all the clips of Trump dunking on all his prospective jurors,” Hedayati explained. “We realized — ‘Okay, there’s a lot here.’”

Too bad none of it will have any impact on the senators deciding Trump’s fate.

Nevertheless, Hedayti is standing by the stunt and appears to think it’s ingenious.

RELATED: Actress Evan Rachel Wood Gets Major Backlash For Calling Kobe Bryant A ‘Rapist’ After His Death

“We’re trying to always think of ways to take jokes that we have and take them outside the boundaries of 11:00 to 11:30. Like, how can we exist in the real world? How can we get closer to the people that we’re covering?” Hedayti says. “Literally driving a truck outside of the building they’re in is a way to do that.”

The lunacy of liberals never ceases to amaze!

#WeWantWitnesses takes off on Twitter as Americans demand justice

As the Senate impeachment trial of Donald Trump continues, the Republican Party, behind Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, continues to work a cover-up. Americans everywhere are fed up with the transparent abuses of power of the conservative-led Senate, and #WeWantWitnesses has begun to trend on social media.

x

x

And people are taking this opportunity to make those calls ...

x

… and to organize people on the ground.

x

x

“Do your job.”

x

And the theatricality resulting from McConnell’s creation of a fiction to hide the facts increases.

x

And while all of this is going on, the White House, after saying that John Bolton’s book didn’t matter, is making a legal play because … it seems to matter.

x

And a reminder: Donald Trump is guilty.

Hey Dems, Bolton’s Testimony Won’t Change Anything – Trump Isn’t Being Removed

The Democrats don’t give a damn what John Bolton or anybody else might say; they know it won’t affect the outcome at all.

What they want is the ability to accuse a few Senators, who they perceive as being vulnerable, of participating in a cover-up by voting against calling witnesses. This whole silly charade is about the 2020 election and not just the presidential election, which they already know they will probably lose.

Given that impeachment is delaying the judicial confirmation express, the sooner it ends, the better. That means it would be best to have no witnesses. But if there are any, Hunter Biden and other witnesses requested by Trump’s team must be included.

MORE NEWS: Tucker Carlson Rips Into Bolton, Compares Him to Snake from Trump’s Parable

Sen. Lindsey Graham: “I’m increasingly optimistic this ends Friday. I think the question is whether we should have additional testimony from witnesses that the House refused to call. Lets assume for a moment that John Bolton would say what the New York Times said he would say, ‘The President told me to put a freeze on the aid because I want to look at the Bidens.’ I’m paraphrasing. The President had every reason to want to look at the Bidens.

The House managers told us there’s not a scintilla of evidence the Bidens did anything wrong, this has been completely debunked, thoroughly investigated. That is a complete lie. The defense team destroyed the House’s case,”

“If after listening to Pam Bondi you’re okay with how Hunter Biden conducted himself in the Ukraine and you’re okay with Joe Biden not having a clue of what was going on, that’s more about you that it is about anything else. There’s a mountain of evidence that the Biden’s were involved in corruption. The President would have been wrong not to ask the Ukrainians to help given what we know about Hunter Biden and Joe Biden.”

The Dems have done such a masterful job of deflection; it should be studied in school. They have completely taken Biden’s corruption off the table, smeared Trump, and tied up Bernie during the primaries all at the same time.

MORE NEWS: John Bolton Has a New Career: Going After Donald Trump

They learned the technique of accusing your opponent of what you are guilty of from the master, Bill Clinton. He must be very proud of his students. They have raised such an incredible stink and smokescreen; no one will ever touch Biden again. Certainly not the Republicans, nor Barr. The Bidens have been given a get out of jail free card — just like Hillary.

Actually, the only way to expose the corruption of the Deep State and the Democrats is to call witnesses, bring out everything. I don’t think there’s any chance Trump will be impeached; the votes simply aren’t there. But the Democrats had to be head-faked into demanding witnesses so the public could see exactly who the traitors are and why.

So sit back, enjoy the show, stock up on popcorn, chips, dip, and your favorite beverage. The Democrats will rue the day they pushed impeachment because the perfect storm is upon them but they are so full of hate they can’t think straight; they don’t recognize the peril they’re in!

And first and foremost, watch the plan unfold before your very eyes, the patriots planned this from the beginning!

Three Democratic Senators May Vote to Acquit Trump of Impeachment

According to a new report, three moderate Democratic senators have signaled they might vote to acquit President Donald Trump in the upper chamber’s impeachment trial.

Sens. Joe Manchin, Doug Jones and Kyrsten Sinema Might Vote to Acquit Trump

Sens. Joe Manchin of West Virginia, Doug Jones of Alabama and Kyrsten Sinema could break ranks with their Democratic colleagues. At least one of them has also said they could vote in favor of only one impeachment article — the abuse of power — but oppose obstruction of Congress.

This week in an interview with Politico, Manchin said he will only support only one of the articles if he “can explain one and not the other.” He has yet to decide on whether he will run for re-election in 2024, said he won’t make a final decision on how he will vote until after the trial concludes.

“I know it’s hard to believe that. But I really am [undecided]. But I have not made a final decision. Every day, I hear something, I think ‘this is compelling, that’s compelling,’” Manchin said. “Everyone’s struggling a little bit.”

RELATED: Adam Schiff Wants Trump Removed Because He Won’t Do “What’s Right For This Country”

The most vulnerable Senate incumbent among Democrats is Jones, who had previously criticized the “obstruction of Congress” article and has said he is “troubled” that House Democrats failed to call White House officials as witnesses.

“I don’t think I’ve totally decided. I certainly have [been] leaning one way or the other. That needle moves” Jones told Politico. “I am leaning in certain ways but I want to hear, I truly, honestly, want to hear the entire trial.”

Sinema’s silence on impeachment suggests her vote is still undecided. A spokesperson said she supports gathering more evidence to “make a more fully informed decision at the end of the trial.”

Dems Push for John Bolton to Testify

Theses senators’ comments come as Democrats now want to call former White House National Security Advisor John Bolton to testify as a witness. The New York Times reported Sunday that Bolton’s upcoming book reveals that President Trump wanted to tie U.S. military to Ukraine to inquiries into allegations of corruption in former Vice President Joe Biden, and his son, Hunter Biden.

President Trump has rejected these claims, and took direct aim at Bolton Wednesday morning in a pair of tweets.

“For a guy who couldn’t get approved for the Ambassador to the U.N. years ago, couldn’t get approved for anything since, ‘begged’ me for a non Senate approved job, which I gave him despite many saying ‘Don’t do it, sir,’ takes the job, mistakenly says ‘Libyan Model’ on T.V., and many more mistakes of judgement [sic], gets fired because frankly, if I listened to him, we would be in World War Six by now, and goes out and IMMEDIATELY writes a nasty & untrue book. All Classified National Security. Who would do this?” the president wrote.

What’s stopping conservatives from urging them to do the opposite?
