Trump And RNC Fundraising Far Outpaces Biden And Democrats

Amid the impeachment battle and the virus, the American people have still continued to express their confidence in President Trump in a very personal and significant way, with their wallets.

The president’s reelection campaign and the Republican National Committee brought in $212 million in the first quarter of 2020. That includes $63 million in March alone as the virus raged. The $63 million is Trump’s second best month ever, only surpassed by the previous month at $86 million raised for the reelection effort.

This contrasts starkly with the Democrats, who have only $20 million in the bank as of the last reporting period. By comparison, the GOP reports having $240 million in the bank at the end of March. This cycle the GOP and Trump have raised more than $677 million. That is $270 million more than Barack Obama had at this point in his successful 2012 campaign. This GOP cash was raised despite the economic calamities befalling many voters. Some may even be out of work right now. But they still gave their money to the president’s campaign and the GOP.

Trump campaign manager Brad Parscale commented Monday, “Americans can see President Trump leading this nation through a serious crisis and they are responding with their continued enthusiastic support for his reelection. Joe Biden, Democrats, and the media continue to oppose his every action, but the people know that President Trump is fighting for them so they are fighting for him as well.”

RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel also said Monday, “President Trump’s unyielding commitment to the American people has shown time and again that he is the President we need to lead our country through the crisis and it’s clear that voters are responding to his bold leadership. The enthusiasm for President Trump and our Party remains strong, and we continue to be all systems go toward November.”

Money is ammo in politics and without it a campaign cannot buy media or pay staff. Fundraising is also an indicator of how much enthusiasm a campaign is generating and how much commitment a political effort has produced among their base and the politically-involved public. These current Republican fundraising numbers highlight a very strong GOP and Trump campaign showing going into the summer, even in the middle of a national public health crisis and economic uncertainty.

Schiff Introduces Bill To Create Coronavirus Commission

Representative Adam Schiff has submitted a bill that would create a Senate commission to investigate the country’s response to the coronavirus outbreak.

Schiff: “Comprehensive and Authoritative Review Required”

Schiff had announced the creation of the commission at the start of the month, claiming that the country needed a 9/11 and Pearl Harbor style commission to “review our response and how we can better prepare for the next pandemic.”

On Friday, Schiff said that he had created a bill with Senators Dianne Feinstein and Kamala Harris to establish such a commission.

“Though we are still in the midst of the Coronavirus crisis, over 16,000 Americans have died,” Schiff tweeted. “It’s clear we’ll need a bipartisan commission to ensure we’re better prepared for the next pandemic.”

“After Pearl Harbor, September 11, and other momentous events in American history, independent, bipartisan commissions have been established to provide a complete accounting of what happened, what we did right and wrong, and what we can do to better protect the country in the future,” Schiff said in a statement. “And though we are still early in this crisis, over sixteen thousand Americans have died so far. It is clear that a comprehensive and authoritative review will be required, not as a political exercise to cast blame, but to learn from our mistakes to prevent history from tragically repeating itself.”

The commission would be composed of 10 individuals, 5 Democrats and 5 Republicans, none of whom would be current federal officials, would possess subpoena power, and would proceed to make a full report on the outbreak and the nation’s response.

Impeachment 2.0!

This follows an announcement from House Speaker Nancy Pelosi about the creation of a Congressional committee to investigate the coronavirus. They will investigate the management of the bailout package to help coronavirus victims (which amounts to over $2 trillion of government spending), and the general response from the White House, President Trump and his administration to the pandemic.

We can all see what this is: it’s nothing more than “Impeachment 2.0.” Schiff and the other Democrats are still salty from the fact that President Trump is still in office, and want to batter him over the head with this deadly pandemic that has claimed over 18,000 American lives so far.

Schiff said the commission will be “bipartisan,” so why haven’t any Republican congressmen supported his bill? Surely a bipartisan commission, if necessary, would gain the support of legislators from across the aisle?

The fact that it hasn’t should be huge red flag.

Rosie O’Donnell Reveals All About Drama On ‘The View’ – Whoopi Goldberg ‘Didn’t Like Me’

Rosie O’Donnell spoke out this week to reveal some shocking behind-the-scenes details about her time on the ABC talk show “The View,” confirming that there really is a ton of drama.

O’Donnell revealed that she never considered going back to “The View” after leaving the show for a second time a few years ago because of her drama with co-host Whoopi Goldberg. “No, I think we all agreed that the last time, that it was better for everyone,” O’Donnell, 58, said during an interview with Howard Stern. “You know, Whoopi really didn’t like me.”

O’Donnell went on to explain that she had signed on to the show thinking she would be part of an “ensemble,” only to get off on the wrong foot with Goldberg when she signaled for commercial. “She was upset… I threw to commercial because I didn’t know that she saw the countdown,” O’Donnell remembered. “Now, listen, she’s been there forever. Maybe that’s normal. I saw, and there was a pause, and I said, ‘We’ll be right back after this.’”

“That was the first day and then there was trouble from then on,” she added. O’Donnell rejoined the show in 2014 after leaving for the first time in 2007. Ironically, she said she had a “come to Jesus” moment just before returning to “The View” when she told Goldberg at her home that she would only come back if she wanted her to.

“I was thinking we were going to be like Scottie Pippen and Michael Jordan,” O’Donnell said, referring to the legendary NBA players. “Like that it was going to be the greatest thing of all time.” O’Donnell left the show after just one season in 2015.

During this interview, O’Donnell also talked about how she bizarrely has become pen pals with Michael Cohen, the former personal attorney to President Donald Trump, after visiting him in prison. She explained that she decided to write to him back in December, at the height of the Democrats’ impeachment efforts against Trump.

“I said, ‘I can’t help but find myself thinking about you there in jail, you who’s from Long Island who sounds like everybody I grew up with, you who’s near my age, you are the guy who’s paying for what this man did. And it seems horrifically unfair,'” O’Donnell said she wrote to Cohen. “And he wrote back to me and said, ‘I can’t believe you’re writing me. I have such guilt over the way I participated, you know, with Trump.’ And so we became pen pals. And then I went to the prison to visit him.”

O’Donnell has been in a longstanding feud with President Trump for over a decade, and her obsessive hatred’s only grown since he took office. Clearly, she’ll become friends with anyone willing to say something bad about him, which may seem pretty pathetic.

Democrats Create Committee To Scrutinize Trump’s Response to Coronavirus

Democrats have created a new House committee designed to scrutinize and review the Trump administration’s response to the coronavirus outbreak.

Committee Will “Examine All Aspects of the Federal Response” to Coronavirus

Democrat House Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced the coronavirus committee on Thursday. They will investigate the management of the bailout package to help coronavirus victims (which amounts of over $2 trillion of government spending), and the general response from the White House, President Trump and his administration to the pandemic.

The panel, which will be chaired by James Clyburn, the Democrat House Majority Whip, will “examine all aspects of the federal response to the coronavirus and ensure the taxpayer’s dollars are being wisely and efficiently spent,” Pelosi told reporters. “The panel will root out waste, fraud, and abuse; it will protect against price-gauging, profiteering, and political favoritism,” she continued, saying that the country needed “transparency and accountability” in managing the outbreak and the funds. “Where there’s money there’s also frequently mischief.”

Schiff Demands 9/11 Style “Nonpartisan Commission”

It follows an announcement on Wednesday. from Representative Adam Schiff to set up a 9/11-style “nonpartisan commission” to investigate the administration’s response to coronavirus.

“After Pearl Harbor and 9/11, we looked at what went wrong to learn from our mistakes,” Schiff tweeted. “Once we’ve recovered, we need a nonpartisan commission to review our response and how we can better prepare for the next pandemic. I’m working on a bill to do that.”

We all know where this is going. Does anyone think the Democrats won’t simply use both the commission and the committee to attack the President for doing all he can to slow the outbreak of the Chinese coronavirus? Just like impeachment, this is going to end up as a partisan attack on the President, most likely led by Pelosi, Schumer, and Schiff – all working together to batter the deaths of American citizens over the head of President Trump for political pointscoring.

FLASHBACK: Watch Nancy Pelosi Completely Ignore Trump’s Coronavirus Comments During SOTU Speech

A video circulating on social media shows House Speaker Nancy Pelosi seemingly ignoring President Donald Trump as he discusses the coronavirus during his February 4th State of the Union address.

The video was shared by Steve Guest, Rapid Response Director for the Republican National Committee.

Guest describes Pelosi’s actions during the clip as ‘zoning out.’

Did She Zone Out?

While it is difficult to ascertain what is going on in Pelosi’s head as the President speaks, it’s quite clear she’s doing everything BUT paying attention to what he is saying.

She’s fidgeting with papers, checking notes, reading excerpts, and even staring at somebody or something off to her right.

What she’s not doing is listening to President Trump say the following:

Protecting Americans’ health also means fighting infectious diseases.  We are coordinating with the Chinese government and working closely together on the coronavirus outbreak in China.  My administration will take all necessary steps to safeguard our citizens from this threat.

And knowing Pelosi had been planning to rip up the President’s speech like a petty and petulant child all along, it’s hard not to assume that is what was on her mind at the time.

Who Ignored The Threat?

That clip is pretty damning considering two things.

One, Pelosi has accused President Trump of denying the seriousness of the pandemic.

“The president’s denial at the beginning was deadly,” the House speaker told CNN’s Jake Tapper. “His delay in getting equipment to where it’s needed is deadly … As the President fiddles, people are dying.”

This video literally shows Pelosi fiddling while the President tells all of Congress and the world that he is taking the threat quite seriously, taking steps to try and protect the American people, and even working with the Chinese government to stop the spread.

And two, the clip serves as a reminder that while the President was busy working for the American people, Democrats were focused on other things. Other things like the shiny, red object known as impeachment.

Lying Pelosi

Whatever she’s doing in the aforementioned clip, it’s quite clear Pelosi is lying and trying to deflect blame on President Trump.

While she and her Democrat colleagues ‘fiddled,’ the administration from the onset did the following:

  • January 6: The CDC issued a travel notice for Wuhan, China due to coronavirus.
  • January 7: The CDC established a coronavirus incident management system to better share and respond to information about the virus.
  • January 8: The CDC issued an advisory to “state and local health departments and health care providers” regarding coronavirus.
  • January 11: The CDC issued a “Level I Travel Health Notice” for Wuhan, China.

What was Pelosi doing? She was ordering commemorative impeachment pens for her friends to celebrate bogging down the entire country with their little political games.

“There’s something wrong with the woman,” Trump recently said of the House Speaker. “She focused on impeachment, and she lost, and she looked like a fool.”

“She’s a sick puppy in my opinion.”

Schiff drafting plans for 9/11-styled commission to investigate failed pandemic preparations

In an interview with Washington Post columnist David Ignatius, House Intelligence Committee chair Rep. Adam Schiff says that his staff is now working on a "discussion draft" for creating an independent commission to investigate the failures of the United States in preparing for the COVID-19 pandemic. The commission would be modeled after the 9/11 Commission, created to investigate the events leading up to the 2001 terrorist attacks on New York City and the Pentagon.

Schiff told Ignatius that that would be delayed "until the crisis has abated to ensure it does not interfere with" agencies' ongoing response efforts.

The most obvious concern, of course, is whether Trump and surrounding loyalists ignored warnings about the rapidly spreading virus due to Trump's obsession over his own self-interests. Ignatius reports that intelligence officials are already concerned that new acting Director of National Intelligence Richard Grenell, a partisan Trump loyalist, is "trying to shape intelligence that might challenge or embarrass Trump."

If this is the case, and there is absolutely no reason to believe Grenell would not act in such a fashion, an investigation of administration actions cannot be delayed for long. The Trump administration has already been caught once engaging in criminal conduct intended solely to benefit Trump's own reelection, resulting in impeachment; there is no question that Trump's team, having been immunized from consequences for those acts by a similarly corrupt Republican-held Senate, may engage in more.

Trump Calls Nancy Pelosi A ‘Sick Puppy’ After She Blames Him For Coronavirus Deaths

President Donald Trump slammed House Speaker Nancy Pelosi as a “sick puppy” following comments she made suggesting his actions in dealing with the coronavirus crisis have been “deadly.”

The President responded to Pelosi’s attack during a phone interview with Fox & Friends Monday morning.

“She’s got a lot of problems and that’s a horrible thing to say,” Trump fumed, before noting that it was his actions very early on that saved lives.

“I stopped some very, very infected, very, very sick people, thousands coming in from China, long earlier than anybody thought, including the experts, nobody thought we should do it except me,” he insisted.

Sick Puppy

Pelosi, in an interview with CNN’s Jake Tapper this weekend, compared President Trump to the Roman Emperor Nero and implied that Democrats might embark on another investigation of his actions.

“What did he know and when did he know it?” Pelosi asked. “That’s for an after-action review. But as the president fiddles, people are dying.”

She also suggested, despite evidence to the contrary, that Trump’s “denial at the beginning, was deadly.”

Trump on Monday said, “She’s a sick puppy in my opinion.”

Trump Unloads

The President responded to the suggestion that an investigation might be forthcoming by reminding viewers that Democrats were focusing on the impeachment sham when word of the coronavirus spreading to the United States was starting to hit.

“There’s something wrong with the woman,” he understated. “She focused on impeachment, and she lost, and she looked like a fool.”

Trump concluded by insinuating Pelosi is “a disgrace to her country [and] her family.”

Trump Saved Lives

During the Fox & Friends interview, President Trump pointed out that Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, has repeatedly credited him with saving countless lives through swift action.

One of the key actions necessary to control the spread of the virus, Fauci explained, is to “contain the influx of people who are infected coming from the outside.”

Dr. Ronny Jackson, former lead White House doctor appointed by Barack Obama, has made similar comments that refute Pelosi’s blame game claims.

The President’s actions, he concluded, are “going to save countless American lives.”

Coronavirus reshuffles battle for the House, boosting Democratic prospects

Just two months ago, the House impeachment and subsequent Senate acquittal of Donald Trump was the talk of Washington. Throughout the fall, GOP-aligned groups had blasted House Democrats with ads attacking their votes to impeach Trump. The conservative American Action Network had already dumped $11 million into targeting Democrats over impeachment, but by early February all those ads had been pulled, according to Politico

Now everyone's reassessing. After a political year that featured a record-setting government shutdown, the conclusion of the Mueller investigation, and a historic impeachment vote, the coronavirus has shifted the political calculus all over again—and likely for the long haul.

“This is just going to dominate American life through Election Day,” one Democratic strategist who tracks House campaigns told Politico. This week, a Democratic super PAC said it was making its first calculated foray into messaging on the coronavirus—a $5 million digital ad buy criticizing Trump’s response to the pandemic. But for the most part, strategists in both parties are trying to figure out how to calibrate both their messaging and fundraising so as not to be seen as capitalizing on a national tragedy that is also wreaking havoc around the world.

One group of lawmakers breathing a sigh of relief in particular is freshman Democrats who flipped conservative seats blue in 2018. Republicans had tagged that bloc for special treatment after House Democrats voted to impeach Trump last fall. Now, however, that vote doesn't carry the baggage Republicans had hoped it would. In fact, Trump's supremely dismal leadership has put that vote in a whole new light, even for the Democrats who took it.

“Some of his reaction and what he says — ‘I didn’t want the people off that boat because I like the numbers where we are’ — that reminds me of the president we impeached. Because, again, it’s about thinking of the self-interest ahead of the nation," said New Jersey Rep. Tom Malinowski, a freshman Democrat who flipped a Republican-held seat in 2018.

Democrats will have plenty of chances moving forward to skewer Trump’s leadership in the critical early stages of this epidemic using his own words. In fact, Trump’s repeated assertions that the virus was “under control” when it was clearly spiraling out of control, and his persistent failure to take responsibility during the crisis will continue to compromise the position of Republican lawmakers straight through November.

President Trump Taunts Romney Over Coronavirus Test Results

President Donald Trump again taunted Senator Mitt Romney (R-UT) Wednesday, this time over the results of his coronavirus test.

Romney announced on Tuesday that his test results came back negative, but would have to remain in quarantine for the remainder of an initial 14-day period.

“Thankfully I’ve tested negative for COVID-19,” the at-times Republican wrote to his followers on Twitter.

“Nevertheless, guidance from my physician, consistent with the CDC guidelines, requires me to remain in quarantine as the test does not rule out the onset of symptoms during the 14-day period,” he added.

Trump Just Can’t Resist

The President couldn’t resist taking a jab at Romney, firing off an early morning tweet laced with sarcasm over the “RINO’s” negative test results.

“This is really great news! I am so happy I can barely speak,” he quipped.

“He may have been a terrible presidential candidate and an even worse U.S. Senator, but he is a RINO, and I like him a lot!” Trump announced.

RELATED: Trump Responds To Romney Having To Self-Quarantine: ‘Gee, That’s Too Bad’

Can Barely Speak

While the President claims he can barely speak on the matter due to overwhelming joy, this is the second time he has trolled Romney over the serious effects of potentially being exposed to coronavirus.

Earlier this week, Romney announced that he would have to self-quarantine upon learning that Senator Rand Paul had become the first of his colleagues to test positive for coronavirus.

He explained that the two had “sat next” to each other “for extended periods in recent days.”

Trump responded, not by joking about the virus, but by joking about Romney having to be isolated.

“Romney is in isolation?” he asked a reporter. “Gee, that’s too bad.”

Trump Mocks Avenatti Too

Romney has been a perpetual thorn in the President’s side, most recently suggesting Trump was ill-prepared for the coronavirus crisis.

This, despite the fact that many experts, including Dr. Anthony Fauci, have said his actions very early on saved lives and will prevent the United States from going down the same path as Italy.

Not to mention Romney, around the same time Trump was taking precautions to protect America in late January, was joining Democrats in voting for the President’s impeachment.

Trump was really dishing out the sarcasm, as he also went after media-darling Michael Avenatti.

A judge rejected Avenatti’s plea for release from prison due to the coronavirus crisis. He was convicted for attempting to extort more than $25 million from Nike in February.

Pelosi And Schumer Play Politics While Americans Die

The Democrats have done a lot of despicable things as of late: The Russian hoax, the Mueller probe, the impeachment scam, trying to socialize our healthcare system (Can you imagine today, if they had been successful?), their open borders policy, and many other travesties too numerous to mention outside of a tome.

But this, this…holding up aid to working families because the Senate economic rescue package does not contain socialist boondoggles, has to be the worst thing they have ever done in modern history.

Fox News reports that GOP senators are expressing outrage on the floor of the Senate: “The country is burning, and your side wants to play political games,” said Senate Majority Whip John Thune, (R-SD). “It is time to get this done. The American people expect us to act, they need action. We need to get this done for the American people. Here we are dilly-dallying around. This bill is about workers, families, people out there hurting economically—we’re in a position to do something about it and it is high time that we did.”

Watch Thune during this crisis. He has long been respected in DC. He could be making a national name for himself.

MORE NEWS: Sanders campaign on the brink of quitting

“Republicans understand that a national crisis calls for urgency and calls for bipartisanship,” GOP Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) said. “It’s time for Democrats to stop playing politics and step up to the plate… We’re at war with no ammo. Democrats are talking about this as if it is some juicy political opportunity. This is not a juicy political opportunity… This has got to stop and today’s the day it has to stop. The country is out of time.”

McConnell is right. Democrats like Nancy Pelosi (CA) and Chuck Schumer (NY) see this as just another chance to fatten the coffers of their pet radical groups and special interests. This while millions could go without jobs and paychecks. They are playing a dangerous game. They will likely lose.
