Pelosi Refuses To Allow Trump Allies On Capitol Investigation – McCarthy Pulls Every Republican In Response

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi rejected the recommendations of Representatives Jim Jordan and Jim Banks to serve on the select committee investigating the January 6 riot at the Capitol, prompting House GOP Leader Kevin McCarthy to pull every Republican pick from the committee.

McCarthy even threatened to hold his own investigation of the events if Pelosi didn’t reverse course.

Earlier this week, McCarthy announced that he had chosen five Republican Representatives to serve on the committee – Jordan (OH), Banks (IN), Rodney Davis (IL), Kelly Armstrong (AL), and Troy Nehls (TX).

Banks, who along with Jordan and Nehls objected to certifying the results of the 2020 presidential election, had been chosen to serve as the ranking member.

Jordan is a staunch and very vocal ally of former President Trump.

Pelosi (D-CA) decided she couldn’t have individuals with opposing viewpoints on the committee, rejecting Banks and Jordan.

Pelosi Refuses To Allow Jim Jordan, Jim Banks On ‘Bipartisan’ Select Committee

Nancy Pelosi’s decision to reject the opposition party’s selections to serve on a select committee is probably expected by most of our readers.

“With respect for the integrity of the investigation, with an insistence on the truth and with concern about statements made and actions taken by these members, I must reject the recommendations of Representatives Banks and Jordan,” she announced.

The move prompted McCarthy to hold a press conference noting that Banks and Jordan currently serve on other standing committees and accusing Pelosi of a power grab.

“Speaker Nancy Pelosi has taken the unprecedented step of denying the minority party’s picks for the Select Committee on January 6,” McCarthy said in a statement.

“This represents an egregious abuse of power and will irreparably damage this institution,” he continued.

“Denying the voices of members who have served in the military and law enforcement, as well as leaders of standing committees, has made it undeniable that this panel has lost all legitimacy and credibility and shows the Speaker is more interested in playing politics than seeking the truth,” McCarthy said.

He added that if Pelosi doesn’t reverse course, he would be pulling every Republican off the committee and pursuing “our own investigation of the facts.”

Liz Cheney Praises Pelosi

Anti-Trump Representative Liz Cheney (R-WY), the only Republican picked by Pelosi to serve on the committee due to her anti-Trump history, naturally sang the praises of the House Speaker for her naked partisanship.

“At every opportunity, the minority leader has attempted to prevent the American people from understanding what happened, to block this investigation,” she said.

Cheney, who had her leadership role stripped due to an inability to focus on representing the Republican Party as opposed to her hatred of the former President, suggested McCarthy should no longer be the House GOP leader.

“Any person who would be third in line to the presidency must demonstrate a commitment to the Constitution and a commitment to the rule of law, and Minority Leader McCarthy has not done that,” she railed.

Had Cheney opted for an intelligent response, she would have at least tangentially criticized Pelosi for the move and promoted the charade that the two were interested in a fair and balanced select committee.

Even before Pelosi’s decision, Banks and Jordan were hammering away at the select committee’s seriousness, or lack thereof.

Jordan referred to it as “impeachment, round three,” while Banks accused Pelosi of creating the committee “solely to malign conservatives and to justify the Left’s authoritarian agenda.”

It should be noted that Pelosi’s decision seems to hinge in part on the fact that Jordan and Banks objected to certifying the election results, something Democrats have insisted contributed to the protest at the Capitol.

In fact, Cheney alluded to this in her response suggesting Jordan “may be a material witness to events that lead to that day.”

Somebody may want to ask Cheney and Pelosi about the presence of Representative Jamie Raskin (D-MD) on the select committee in that case.

Democrats, including Raskin, tried objecting to the certification of electoral votes for Donald Trump in 2017 on 11 separate occasions.

Using the Democrat Party’s own standard today, one could argue that the constant insistence that Trump didn’t really win the election in 2016 led to an incitement of violence on his inauguration day.

Liz Cheney, Adam Kinzinger Only GOP To Vote For Committee To Investigate Capitol Riot

The House of Representatives voted Wednesday to create a select committee to probe the January 6 Capitol protest, with Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger being the only two Republicans to back the effort.

The predominantly Democrat effort to keep the one-time incident in the news cycle passed by a vote of 220-190.

The committee will be under the control of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and will feature a 13-member panel, eight of whom will be chosen by Pelosi, five of whom will be selected by House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA).

“We cannot wait,” Pelosi said Wednesday.

“We believe that Congress must in the spirit of bipartisanship and patriotism establish this commission,” she added.

“It will be conducted with dignity, with patriotism, with respect for the American people, so that they can know the truth.”

Liz Cheney, Adam Kinzinger Vote In Favor Of Select Committee

Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger’s vote in favor of the select committee is further indication that they, like their Democrat colleagues, have little interest in moving the country forward.

Instead, they actively seek out the liberal media for attention and enjoy being brought to heel by Pelosi.

“Since January 6th, the courage of my party’s leaders has faded. But the threat to our Republic has not,” Cheney (R-WY) said.

“On an almost daily basis, Donald Trump repeats the same statements that provoked violence before,” she claims. “His attacks on our Constitution are accelerating. Our responsibility is to confront these threats, not appease and deflect.”

What words were those, Liz – his statement to supporters that they “peacefully and patriotically make your voices heard” on that day?

Is that what you consider an attack on the Constitution?

An enterprising reporter may want to ask Cheney how she feels about voting with and supporting a select committee alongside some Democrats who tried objecting to the certification of electoral votes for Donald Trump in 2017 on 11 separate occasions.

NeverTrump Republicans

Adam Kinzinger joined Cheney in bending the knee to Pelosi, saying the January protest at the Capitol was a “most egregious attack.”

“We need a full accounting of what happened on January 6, 2021—we need answers on who was involved in the insurrection and who played a role in orchestrating it,” Kinzinger (R-IL) said. “We need transparency and truth.”

Kinzinger and Cheney’s vote was so completely in line with the Democrats that the other 8 House Republicans who voted to impeach Trump in January, and the other 33 who voted in favor of creating an independent bipartisan commission, weren’t so easily duped.

An additional 19 Republicans did not vote on the resolution to create a select committee, though several of them were joining Trump on a visit to the southern border.

McCarthy slammed the committee as a partisan political ploy.

“Nancy Pelosi has spent all the time and all these months playing politics with this, and now we’re finding [the] select committee will be more politics of what she wants to do,” he said.

Liz Cheney was ousted from her leadership role earlier this year for consistently attacking Trump and his supporters and refusing to move the Republican Party forward.

She has called for a criminal investigation into the former President.

“I think the American people have to know (what happened on January 6th),” Cheney insisted. “And certainly any president who did what we know this former president did has got to be investigated criminally.”

Adam Kinzinger, meanwhile, has also allowed Trump to live rent-free in his head, recently claiming supporters of the former President were supporting “a loser president.”

“It was a rally of a loser president. I mean, he’s the first president to lose reelection in decades,” Kinzinger told his friends at CNN following an event in Ohio last weekend.

“I don’t know why these people would go there and in essence ogle at and in many cases just sort of worship a loser.”

Cheney and Kinzinger are now facing primary challenges for their congressional seats.

Fox News reported that some of the Republicans who voted to impeach Trump “may have a very hard time holding on to their seats.”

Imagine choosing to ruin your career just so you can get fawning media coverage from outlets like CNN and MSNBC.

News Roundup: Republicans filibuster the commission, commission, commission

It is Friday! In the wee hours of the night, the Republican Party destroyed the chances for our country to investigate the closest our nation has come to a coup d’etat since the main form of visual media was the  daguerreotype. It’s not surprisng but it is a sad statement about where our country is at. But it is Friday! We have a long weekend to spend with loved ones and friends, and to think about the millions of those who have come before us and passed on after defending our country in its many battles these last 244 years, 10 months, and 24 days.

Liz Cheney Says Republicans Need To Make It Clear That ‘We Aren’t The Party Of White Supremacy’

Representative Liz Cheney (R- WY), who is one of the Republicans that voted to impeach former President Donald Trump during his last impeachment trial, spoke out at a Reagan Institute event on Tuesday to say that the Republican party needs to “make clear that we aren’t the party of white supremacy” in the wake of last month’s Capitol riots.

Cheney Condemns Capitol Riots

“Certainly the potential of a 9/11-style commission, I think that is very important,” Cheney said. “I think there are many aspects of what happened on the 6th and in the days and weeks and months leading up to it that have to be investigated.”

“It’s very important, especially for us as Republicans, to make clear that we aren’t the party of white supremacy,” she added. “You certainly saw anti-Semitism. You saw the symbols of Holocaust denial, for example, at the Capitol that day.”

“You saw a Confederate flag being carried through the Rotunda,” Cheney continued. “And I think we as Republicans, in particular, have a duty and an obligation to stand against that, to stand against insurrection.”

Cheney Doubles Down

Cheney made it clear that she supports a 9/11-style commission to look into this riot, saying that its mandate should be to take a “clear eyed look” into Trump’s and his allies’ allegations of voter fraud and a “stolen” election.

“The president and many around him pushed this idea that the election had been stolen. And that is a dangerous claim. It wasn’t true,” she said. “There were over 60 court cases where judges, including judges appointed by President Trump and other Republican presidents, looked at the evidence in many cases and said there is not widespread fraud.”

Not stopping there, Cheney added that the commission should look into media organizations that pushed or continue to push the narrative of a fraudulent election, saying they are “contributing to a very dangerous set of circumstances.”

Cheney concluded by saying that this commission should follow the 9/11 commission’s model and have only retired officials serving as members.

“I think there are many aspects to what happened on the sixth and in the days, weeks and months leading up to it that have to be investigated,” Cheney said.

“And I think having a commission with the formality that we saw in the 9/11 Commission, with the bipartisan participation that we saw in the 9/11 Commission, that’s very important,” she concluded.

Pelosi Wants ‘9/11-Type Commission’ To Investigate Capitol Riot

On Monday, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said that she plans to create an “outside, independent 9/11-type Commission” to investigate January’s Capitol Hill attack.

In her weekly letter to colleagues, Pelosi told her House colleagues that the commission will “investigate and report on the facts and causes relating to the January 6, 2021, domestic terrorist attack upon the United States Capitol Complex.”

Pelosi’s Call For 9-11-Style Commission Comes Two Days After Trump Acquittal

Pelosi added that the query will also delve into anything “relating to the interference with the peaceful transfer of power.”

This call from the Democrat leader comes only two days after former President Donald Trump being acquitted on impeachment by the U.S. senate.

That vote was 57-43, with seven Republicans voting against Trump and for a conviction.

Democrats can’t seem to give up Trump. Pelosi isn’t the only Democrat calling for an independent commission.

Democratic Senator Chris Coons has signaled support for such an investigation, saying, “There’s still more evidence that the American people need and deserve to hear and a 9/11 commission is a way to make sure that we secure the Capitol going forward.”

Coons added, “And that we lay bare the record of just how responsible and how abjectly violating of his constitutional oath President Trump really was.”

Democrats And Media Still Obsessing Over Trump

Before Trump was acquitted on Saturday, Republican Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell told Republican senators that he too would vote to acquit Trump.

But McConnell also blasted Trump, claiming the former president was “practically and morally responsible for provoking the events of that day,” meaning the January 6 Capitol Hill riot.

And while McConnell also argued that the impeachment trial was unconstitutional now that Trump is no longer president, such a high ranking Republican making those comments was easy fodder for the Democrats.

Democratic Congresswoman Madeleine Dean said of McConnell and the Republicans, “It was powerful to hear the 57 guilties and then it was puzzling to hear and see Mitch McConnell stand and say ‘not guilty’ and then, minutes later, stand again and say he was guilty of everything.”

“History will remember that statement of speaking out of two sides of his mouth,” Dean added.

CNN’s Wolf Blitzer reminded followers in a tweet on Monday that in addition to Pelosi’s commission, other happenings regarding Trump will make sure we “learn a lot more” about the final days of his administration.

In other words, the media will not give up their addiction to all things Trump.

CNN’s Blitzer: ‘Bottom line: we are going to learn a lot more’

“The Trump trial is over but local, state & federal investigations continue,” Blitzer tweeted. “There might be a 9/11-type commission.”

“News organizations continue to investigate,” Blitzer continued. “And @realBobWoodward is working on a book on Trump’s final days in office.”

“Bottom line: we are going to learn a lot more,” the CNN host finished.

Donald Trump might be gone from the White House but don’t expect the Democrats or their media spokespeople to stopped being obsessed with him anytime soon.

Report: Democrats Plan To Pursue Investigations Into President Trump After He Leaves Office

Democrats have every intention of pursuing investigations into President Trump and his administration even after he leaves office, CNN reports.

According to the network, some lawmakers have expressed interest in continuing the witch hunt against the President.

“They [Democrats] argue they have an obligation to scrutinize the actions of Trump and his administration that they charge violated constitutional norms and eroded the separation of powers,” the report states.

There are also multiple ongoing lawsuits according to CNN, “including efforts to obtain Trump’s tax returns, key financial documents, testimony from a former White House counsel and grand jury material from the Mueller report.”

These “will continue into the new Congress,” likely throttling any effort by President-elect Biden to create unity in an increasingly dysfunctional place like Washington, D.C.

Democrats Plan To Investigate Trump After He Leaves Office, Something They Did Before He Ever Took Office

To demonstrate how absurd the left’s dogged pursuit of President Trump is and has been, CNN notes Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD) “would want to investigate things that are profoundly damaging to our system of government.”

Raskin, of course, plotted Trump’s impeachment before he stepped foot in the White House.

In fact, prior to President Trump’s inauguration day, Raskin had impeachment on the brain.

“I just know that if I’m going to vote to impeach the man at some point, I would like to be able to look him in the eye on Inauguration Day,” he said when asked if he planned on attending the event.

Raskin has also been a strong proponent of invoking the 25th Amendment as a means to remove the President from office.

The Democrats’ past four years, with Raskin as a prime example, have resulted in zero legislative accomplishments as they focused solely on harassing Trump from the day they found out he beat Hillary Clinton.

President Trump Should Pardon Himself Regarding Future Investigations

Congressman Matt Gaetz believes President Trump should consider a pardon for himself and others in his administration as a means to fend off the radical left.

“He should pardon everyone from himself to his administration officials to Joe Exotic if he has to,” Gaetz joked.

While the comments may have been light-hearted, the threat from the radical left is real.

Congressman Bill Pascrell, Jr. (D-NJ) has demanded a thorough and continuing investigation and prosecution of the President and members of his administration.

Actor Rob Reiner has also advised that a “non-partisan commission” should be created to investigate Trump after he leaves office to “restore faith in our Constitution and the Rule of Law.”

And Democrat Rep. Maxine Waters (CA) has also called for continuing investigations into the President.

“We should send a message across the world that we will not tolerate the undermining of our democracy in the way this president has done,” Waters said.

“So again, I don’t know what President-elect Biden would do, but I certainly would support investigating the president.”

If President-elect Biden had a spine and the brain cells to pull it off, he’d pardon Trump and his family as one of his first moves towards unity and a clear call to the radical left that their destruction of the integrity of the office of the presidency will no longer be tolerated.

Schiff Vows To ‘Dive Deep’ Into Trump Coronavirus Investigation

House Intelligence Committee chairman Rep. Adam Schiff vows to conduct a thorough investigation into the Trump administration’s handling of the coronavirus pandemic.

Earlier this month, Schiff (D-CA) vowed to create a “nonpartisan” 9/11-style commission to study why America was “so unprepared” for the crisis.

He joined Senators Dianne Feinstein and Kamala Harris in submitting an actual bill last week.

Another Partisan Witch Hunt

Speaking to low-information viewers of the MSNBC show “AM Joy,” Schiff declared that his commission would thoroughly investigate the Trump administration.

“We are diving deeply into what does the intelligence community know, what resources we would bring there, and what do we need to do prospectively to better protect the country in the future,” he announced.

Schiff also inadvertently admitted his investigation would be anything but ‘non-partisan,’ revealing that as the House Intelligence Committee chair he has already committed the ultimate sin of any investigator – drawing a conclusion first.

“It is very important, I think, in reviewing the intelligence component to this to realize the intelligence piece is just one piece of the warnings coming to the administration,” he said.

“A lot of those warnings were in the public domain. They came from public health organizations, like WHO or CDC or his own National Security Council, and ignored those warnings.”

‘Ignored those warnings.’

Schiff is now confessing to be in search of evidence pointing to a conclusion he’s already made. No competent, reasonable, or trusted investigator would ever operate in such a manner.

RELATED: Schiff Wants 9/11-Style Commission to Investigate Trump Administration’s Response to Coronavirus

Schiff is a Hack

Based on Schiff’s own commentary, one can only conclude that he is likely the most partisan political hack to ever head the House Intelligence Committee.

He has been a threat to this President from day one.

It was Schiff and his Democrat colleagues who bogged down an entire nation with impeachment dreams while the coronavirus was beginning to flourish, distracting lawmakers in Congress from protecting America.

“We have seen Americans unite with incredible selflessness and compassion,” President Trump recently stated. “I want to remind everyone here in our nation’s capital, especially in Congress, that this is not the time for politics, endless partisan investigations.”

Schiff is an embarrassment, yes, but worse, he is an imminent danger to this country.

While the President will be working diligently to revive America from the economic devastation wrought by this pandemic, Democrats will be working feverishly to slow him down yet again.

Make no mistake, Schiff cares more about his political future than he does the well-being of the American people.

Schiff Wants 9/11-Style Commission to Investigate Trump Administration’s Response to Coronavirus

Adam Schiff says he will introduce a bill to create a “nonpartisan” 9/11-style commission to study why America was “so unprepared” for the coronavirus pandemic.

Let’s repeat that.

The man who bogged down an entire nation with impeachment dreams while the coronavirus was beginning to flourish, is mobilizing the House Intelligence Committee, which he chairs, to figure out why the country wasn’t necessarily focused on the problem at hand.

Pearl Harbor, 9/11 … Coronavirus

Schiff shared an article from the Washington Post that cited his desire to begin an investigation once the crisis subsides.

“After Pearl Harbor and 9/11, we looked at what went wrong to learn from our mistakes,” Schiff (D-CA) tweeted. “Once we’ve recovered, we need a nonpartisan commission to review our response and how we can better prepare for the next pandemic.”

“I’m working on a bill to do that,” he added.

The Post article goes on to cite positive and negative actions taken by the Trump administration, leaving little doubt as to who Schiff is actually going after.

RELATED: Watch Nancy Pelosi Completely Ignore Trump’s Coronavirus Comments During SOTU Speech

Says Trump ‘Screwed Up’

Further proof that Schiff is focused not on “our mistakes” but the supposed mistakes made by President Trump himself are comments the impeachment manager made the night before.

In an appearance on MSNBC, Schiff said those blaming his impeachment sham for distracting the country were inadvertently admitting that “the administration screwed up this response.”

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell blamed the highly partisan effort for distracting lawmakers when coronavirus was.

“It came up while we were tied down in the impeachment trial,” McConnell asserted. “And I think it diverted the attention of the government because everything every day was all about impeachment.”

RELATED: Rep. Crenshaw Blasts Obama Senior Adviser For ‘Vitriol’ Making ‘Americans Feel Awful’ During Coronavirus Crisis

Schiff Is Full Of It

“Yeah, the president said something similar, which, you know, was an interesting acknowledgment that the administration screwed up this response,” Schiff claimed without evidence.

“The facts are quite clear that the president’s weeks long, maybe months-long delay in taking this seriously has had catastrophic consequences that we are only now beginning to see the scope of.”

The facts ARE quite clear.

While Schiff, Pelosi, and the Democrats were developing their impeachment arguments, President Trump would issue travel restrictions with China, establish the Coronavirus Task Force, and declare coronavirus a public health emergency.

If there is any investigation, it needs to encompass the resistance party’s lack of action or hindrance to those trying to take action.
