Trump State of the Union Speech a Triumph

By David Kamioner | February 5, 2020

President Donald Trump, riding good news on several fronts, gave a masterful performance in front of both houses of Congress and other luminaries Tuesday night during his State of the Union address. He hit all the right notes of policy and emotion and was received well regardless of small Democratic attempts to disrupt his presentation.

He ignored impeachment and focused on his past policy achievements and plans for his next term in office.

His comms staff made sure the speech contained the kind of moments and lines that would force the Democrats to respond positively or look like partisan hacks. Most of them took the bait and stood and clapped on numerous occasions, especially the telegenic Democratic Senator Kyrsten Sinema of Arizona.

Trump was not daunted by the tired trope of unintelligibly shouting and chanting hard left Democratic female House members all dressed in white. Nor was his game affected by the sad little stunts House Speaker Nancy Pelosi tried to pull off to distract the camera.

High points of the evening were comprised of the president’s recognition of audience members such as legitimate Venezuelan President Juan Guaido, Tuskegee Airman USAF Brigadier General Charles McGee, Philadelphia student Janiyah Davis and her mother, and Afghanistan hero U.S. Army SFC Townsend Williams. Williams was reunited with his wife and children, who were in attendance, during the event.

Another powerful moment was the awarding of the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the nation’s highest civilian award, to conservative media titan Rush Limbaugh. After the president recognized Limbaugh for his talent and devotion to American values, the First Lady presented the award to the talk show host as he stood there in the audience.

The ailing Limbaugh, who was just diagnosed with advanced fourth stage lung cancer, was visibly moved by the medal and the standing ovation he received by many members of Congress and other leaders.

Other notable aspects included the presence of Brexit leader Nigel Farage, the wry smile of satisfaction between Trump-appointed Supreme Court justices Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh, and the impotent ripping up of the president’s speech by Nancy Pelosi after the SOTU had finished.

The Democrats were once a great political party. They are now reduced to a socialist mob, ripping up sheets of paper after a speech as a forlorn gesture of opposition, such is what the president has done to them.

That, along with the booming economy and the resurgent U.S. posture around the around, may be President Trump’s greatest accomplishment.

Meghan McCain Eviscerates Joy Behar After She Expresses Hopes Trump Will Go ‘Completely Nuts’ During State Of The Union

By PopZette Staff | February 4, 2020

Yet another argument broke out between Joy Behar and Meghan McCain on the ABC talk show “The View” this morning as the two went at it over President Donald Trump’s State of the Union tonight.

As the women talked about Trump’s upcoming speech, Behar fantasized about how it would go, expressing her hopes that the president would “go off-script and be completely nuts. That’s what I’m praying for.” Unfortunate for her, however, McCain was also on the panel to give her a nice dose of reality.

“Tonight is the State of the Union and I’m hoping people will watch because we have to talk about it tomorrow. It’s like a homework assignment,” Behar said at the beginning of the segment.

“I’m just hoping, you know, let’s watch the body language, you know?” she later continued. “Nancy Pelosi’s going to be sitting behind him, and I’m hoping she’ll have a sign that says ‘impeach.’ Nadler and Schiff and those guys are going to be right in front which will freak him out.”

McCain was not having any of Behar’s liberal fantasy.

“It’s not going to freak him out,” she told her.

Behar took a brief pause to say that Trump needs to be “presidential,” but she quickly went back to her radical side to add there was no way this would happen.

“Like he’s going to be presidential,” she scoffed. “There’s no way this guy knows how to be presidential, and I’m hoping he’ll just get freaked out, go off script and be completely nuts. That’s what I’m praying for.”

Behar and her liberal cohost Sunny Hostin proceeded to fantasize about the things they’d like to hear Trump talk about, from impeachment to their favorite “kids in cages” narrative. Finally, McCain stepped in to shut them both down.

“This is a pipe dream, and I love you, but this is a pipe dream,” McCain said. “He’s going to take a victory lap over the impeachment, he’s going to take a victory lap over the cluster that just happened in Iowa, and now he has the State of the Union which is this huge audience in front of all of America, and in this moment he’s doing pretty well. I mean, I just don’t think the idea he’s going to decombust in front of the State of the Union is logical.”

McCain could not be more right. Despite what crazed leftists in the media like Behar say, Trump’s numbers are good right now, so he has no reason to have a meltdown. Behar can keep fantasizing about Trump’s down fall, but a fantasy is all that is. With America thriving under Trump, Behar should get used to the fact that he’s going to be in the White House for another four years.

Sad! CNN Complains After Trump Blocks Them From Pre-SOTU Lunch

CNN is accusing President Trump of targeting the network by not inviting any of their reporters to an annual pre-State of the Union lunch.

Commentator Brian Stelter reports that three sources have confirmed the network is being excluded from the lunch.

“President Donald Trump’s targeting of CNN is moving to yet another arena: The annual presidential lunch with television network anchors,” Stelter complained.

The lunch gathering is considered off-the-record and journalists from most major news networks are typically invited to get a glimpse of the President’s mindset prior to the address to Congress.

Here Come the Tears

Several mainstream media figures were outraged that the White House would dare not invite CNN to the proceedings.

The off-the-record proceedings. With reporters who are relentlessly anti-Trump.

Hard to imagine why the President wouldn’t want that circus surrounding him before a triumphant SOTU address as he nears acquittal in the Senate impeachment trial.

“Every news organization should stand by its peer CNN, stand up against Trump and stand for a free press and the first amendment by boycotting the impeached president’s lunch,” journalist Steven Beschloss demanded.

Likewise, CNN White House correspondent Kaitlan Collins asked of her peers, “Why would any other anchor go to this?”

Well, because they don’t work for a fake news outlet would be my number one guess.

Why the Sad Face CNN?

Interesting that CNN would be outraged over exclusion from the State of the Union lunch. Especially considering the network themselves boycotted the White House Christmas party in 2018.

Lo and behold, it was Stelter who gleefully announced it on social media at the time.

“[White House] is hosting a Christmas party for media,” Stelter relayed. “Lots of curiosity about who will [and] will not attend. CNN staffers will not.”

So brave, so stunning.

“In light of the President’s continued attacks on freedom of the press and CNN, we do not feel it is appropriate to celebrate with him as his invited guests,” a spokesperson for the far-left network said at the time.

So they complain when they boycott Trump, and they complain when Trump boycott’s them. Which is it? If you didn’t like the attacks before, what changed your mind to the point where you’re begging for an invite?

Quite frankly, the President isn’t about to let up on his attacks against CNN any time soon. Why? Because they have no intention of operating as an organization with integrity any time soon. He’s not obligated to invite anybody, let alone a second-rate outfit.

Anyone recall CNN’s outrage when Barack Obama booted reporters from conservative newspapers off of his airplane? Did they stand in solidarity with their colleagues then?

Spare us the crocodile tears now.

WATCH LIVE: President Trump’s 2020 State of the Union

President Donald Trump will deliver his annual State of the Union address on Tuesday, Feb. 4 in the U.S. House of Representatives--a day before he is expected to be acquitted in the Senate impeachment trial and a day after the Iowa caucuses provide the first results in the Democratic presidential race.

Next Three Days Vital for President Trump

By David Kamioner | February 3, 2020

Monday marks the beginning of three of the most important days in the history of modern America.

On Monday the resumption of the Senate impeachment trial will likely bring the process only two days away from a finish. Senators will get to make speeches on the Senate floor for or against impeachment. From those speeches a good count on the final votes on the charges before the Senate should be able to be discerned. Our call remains 55-45 for the president, thus handing him an impressive victory and complete vindication.

This is the de facto and de jure result no matter what the Democratic strategy may be to ignore the trial outcome and possibly embark on another impeachment investigation and vote. That would be timed for the GOP convention or the fall, when the Democrats still have control of the House. If they do that they will lose the House. So pray that they at least try.

The Iowa Democratic caucus on Monday looks like a close battle between Sanders and Biden. We think Biden will pull it off because many Sanders supporters are young and those under 30 do not usually vote or caucus in large numbers. Trump is probably pulling for Sanders, as are we, for the obvious reason of his non-electability in November. But the Democratic establishment will probably not allow his nomination, just as they cheated him out of it in 2016.

Tuesday brings more trial speeches and the State of the Union address by the president. Expect the Democrats to try a stunt to disrupt the president’s speech. Shouting from the audience, a walkout or boycott, even turning their back on the president are all in their playbook. One or more may take place.

Wednesday should close the chapter, for now, on one of the most divisive and unnecessary dramas in American history, as the Senate will likely vote to acquit President Trump on one count of abuse of power and another of obstruction of Congress. Current smart money has Democrats Manchin and Sinema possibly voting with the president on one or both counts. Jones could also jump to Trump on the votes.

Republicans Romney and Collins could vote to remove the president on one or both counts, with Romney the more likely guilty vote on both charges.
