Kinzinger Rips Trump For CPAC Speech – Says Former President ‘Just Needed His Monthly Dose Of Adoration’

Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-IL) went on CNN on Tuesday to blast Donald Trump for the CPAC speech he gave this past weekend, claiming that he was “really bored” during it because it was like many of the others the former president had previously given.

Kinzinger Attacks Trump

“I think that that was the first time we had heard Donald Trump speak,” Kinzinger stated. “It would be shocking, you know, all that stuff … but it was the same exact — I mean … he could have given that speech in September, and with the exception of having talked about impeachment, it would have been the same speech he gave this time. He had no new ideas.”

“I mean, to me, it looked like somebody that just needed his monthly dose of adoration in front of a crowd. So, I really was bored,” he added.

“Honestly, I watched it because I knew he was going to call my name out, and I wanted to be able to know how to respond and what was said,” Kinzinger said.

“But it was a hard speech to get through because I was just like, you know, looking at my phone a lot, as you can tell by the number of the tweets I had,” he concluded.

Trump Called Out Kinzinger In His Speech

Kinzinger was one of the Republicans who Trump attacked by name in his speech, with Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) and Sen. Mitt Romney (R-UT) being mentioned as well. Kinzinger has been trying to fire back at Trump ever since, appearing on “Morning Joe” on Monday to respond as well.

“I think, you know, what you could see at that speech yesterday was recycling old talking points,” Kinzinger said, according to The Hill.

“You know, just stream of consciousness and I think it’s obvious there is no vision from Donald Trump there’s no desire to paint a vision,” he said. “All he really desires is to stand in front of a crowd and be adored and he got that in ample amounts yesterday.”

“This president has done nothing but reflect people’s darkness back to them, reflect their fears back to them,” Kinzinger added.

“It was sad, but I’m still hopeful that, you know, 45 percent of people at this Trump rally didn’t want Donald Trump again, and I think there’s a growing number of people out there that see he’s a has-been,” he concluded.

Award-Winning Reporter To Sue Gretchen Whitmer Over Nursing Home COVID Data

Michigan’s Democratic Governor Gretchen Whitmer got some bad news this week when a Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist announced plans to sue her for the release of COVID-19 nursing home data.

Reporter Says He’s Preparing Lawsuit Against Whitmer

Seasoned reporter Charlie LeDuff revealed on Twitter that he is teaming up with Mackinac Center, a Michigan-based free market think tank, to file a lawsuit against Whitmer.

“We are preparing a lawsuit against Gov. Whitmer of Michigan,” LeDuff wrote. “She refuses to turn over COVID death data and accurate nursing home numbers to the public. All the way to the Supreme Court, Madam.”

“The public has a right to know,” LeDuff told Fox News. “Above all, the public has a need to know. We shut down the entire economy, we interrupted our children’s lives, all in the name of protecting the most vulnerable.”

“We now know this was the institutionalized elderly. If we could not protect them, at the very least we deserve an explanation from Madam Governor.”

“If there’s something more to it than that, let’s say gross incompetence or gross negligence or gross press conferences designed to cover the facts, then she needs to answer for it. As I’ve always said, the power lies with the people, not the political parties,” he continued.

Whitmer’s office declined to comment when contacted by Fox.

Republicans Demand Investigation Into Whitmer And Nursing Homes

This comes after multiple Republican state lawmakers sent a letter to Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel and acting U.S. Attorney General Monty Wilkinson calling for a “full investigation” into Whitmer’s handling of nursing homes during the coronavirus pandemic.

These Republican legislators cited “discrepancies” in the data surrounding deaths and cases “in the state’s long-term care facilities.”

“It has now come to our attention that these reporting errors have likely not been resolved,” the Republicans claimed, adding that Whitmer’s “regional hub policy put patients with and without COVID-19 in the same facilities” and the decision to do so “may have exacerbated the death toll in those facilities.”

Andrew Cuomo In Hot Water As Well

This comes as New York’s Democratic Governor Andrew Cuomo is facing calls of impeachment for his withholding of data on nursing home resident deaths. This is only one of the problems Cuomo is facing, as multiple former aides have accused him fo sexual harassment.

Dem Senator Hirono Blames Trump Rhetoric For Alleged Rise In Anti-Asian Hate Crimes

Senator Mazie Hirono (D-HI) spoke out on Sunday to blame former President Donald Trump’s rhetoric on COVID-19 for an alleged spike in anti-Asian hate crimes.

“You were the first Asian-American woman elected to the Senate, a striking surge in anti-Asian hate crimes here in America. Why is this happening, and what should be done about it?” asked ABC anchor George Stephanopoulos.

Hirono Responds

“It’s happening because we didn’t have leadership at the top, starting from President Trump calling it the China virus and the Kung flu and all of that, which apparently it unleashed this kind of targeted hate crimes among Asian-Americans, and the increase is dramatic,” Hirono replied.

“Just last week in New York, a person who was just walking down the street got knifed. He is in serious condition,” she added. “Soon thereafter, four people walking in New York were knifed. One died. In California, you have incidents of 90-year-old people being knocked down, attacked. That person died.”

Hirono Praises Biden

“So I’m glad that Joe Biden, unlike Trump, has put this issue forward through his executive memorandum, which by the way contains many of the provisions that I put in a resolution that I tried to pass last year condemning targeted hate crimes against Asian-Americans,” she continued.

“The idea is for the attorney general, soon-to-be new attorney general, to work with community groups to prevent and prosecute these kinds of hate crimes,” Hirono said.

“So it’s being recognized by President Biden and that, you know, leadership throughout our country should condemn in no uncertain terms, when you have Asian-Americans afraid to walk down the street for the fear of being knifed, this is an issue that needs to be dealt with,” she added.

Hirono Addresses Cuomo Claims

In this same interview, Hirono called for an independent investigation into the sexual harassment claims that were made against New York’s Democratic Governor George Stephanopoulos.

“The proper response for any of these kind of allegations of reprehensible, inexcusable behavior is to listen to the — mainly women who come forward … and then to do the appropriate investigation and corroboration of the allegations,” Hirono said.

“In the case of Gov. Cuomo, it seems to me that the New York attorney general would be the independent entity to conduct such an investigation,” she added.

Jim Jordan Defies Left To Say ‘I Hope On January 20, 2025’ Trump Is The President Again

Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) went on Fox News on Monday to fully endorse former President Donald Trump, should he decide to run again in 2024.

Jordan Endorses Potential Trump Run In 2024

“[H]e’s the leader of the conservative movement,” Jordan said of Trump. “He’s the leader of the America first movement, and he is the leader of the Republican Party.”

“And I hope, and you know, I hope — like I said yesterday, I hope on January 20, 2025 he’s, once again, will be the leader of our country,” he added. “I hope he runs, but he’s definitely the leader of our party.”

“We need to stay together, and the vast, vast, vast majority of our party supports President Trump as our leader,” Jordan said.

Jordan Thinks Trump Would Have Won Re-Election Under Normal Circumstances

Jordan went on to say that he believes Trump would have won re-election, had things been done as they normally are.

“I mean, look, the left knew that under existing rules, they couldn’t beat President Trump,” he explained.

“So in the run-up to the election, they had to change the law but they couldn’t because they — and they couldn’t do it in a constitutional fashion because in the key swing states, they didn’t control the legislature,” Jordan continued. “So they had to go around it with Democrat partisan secretary of states, with local Democrat partisan judges.”

“In some cases, you had the partisan supreme — state supreme courts in these states just change the law, go around the state legislature unconstitutionally, and that was the point we made when we objected on January 6,” Jordan added.

“That’s the point the president was making yesterday,” he said. “These state legislatures are going to have to get control of their election law and put in place the changes that President Trump talked about in his speech yesterday.”

Jordan Says Democrats Are ‘Scared’ Of Trump

This comes a month after Jordan ripped Democrats for their second impeachment effort, saying that they are “scared” of Trump.

“Democrats are going to these lengths because they are obsessed with canceling President Trump,” Jordan continued. “They’re scared of him.”

“They know he works [for] the American people, and not the Washington Swamp,” he added. “Unlike most politicians, President Trump did what he said he’d do. Hopefully, one day, he’ll get to do it again.”

Liz Cheney Says Republicans Need To Make It Clear That ‘We Aren’t The Party Of White Supremacy’

Representative Liz Cheney (R- WY), who is one of the Republicans that voted to impeach former President Donald Trump during his last impeachment trial, spoke out at a Reagan Institute event on Tuesday to say that the Republican party needs to “make clear that we aren’t the party of white supremacy” in the wake of last month’s Capitol riots.

Cheney Condemns Capitol Riots

“Certainly the potential of a 9/11-style commission, I think that is very important,” Cheney said. “I think there are many aspects of what happened on the 6th and in the days and weeks and months leading up to it that have to be investigated.”

“It’s very important, especially for us as Republicans, to make clear that we aren’t the party of white supremacy,” she added. “You certainly saw anti-Semitism. You saw the symbols of Holocaust denial, for example, at the Capitol that day.”

“You saw a Confederate flag being carried through the Rotunda,” Cheney continued. “And I think we as Republicans, in particular, have a duty and an obligation to stand against that, to stand against insurrection.”

Cheney Doubles Down

Cheney made it clear that she supports a 9/11-style commission to look into this riot, saying that its mandate should be to take a “clear eyed look” into Trump’s and his allies’ allegations of voter fraud and a “stolen” election.

“The president and many around him pushed this idea that the election had been stolen. And that is a dangerous claim. It wasn’t true,” she said. “There were over 60 court cases where judges, including judges appointed by President Trump and other Republican presidents, looked at the evidence in many cases and said there is not widespread fraud.”

Not stopping there, Cheney added that the commission should look into media organizations that pushed or continue to push the narrative of a fraudulent election, saying they are “contributing to a very dangerous set of circumstances.”

Cheney concluded by saying that this commission should follow the 9/11 commission’s model and have only retired officials serving as members.

“I think there are many aspects to what happened on the sixth and in the days, weeks and months leading up to it that have to be investigated,” Cheney said.

“And I think having a commission with the formality that we saw in the 9/11 Commission, with the bipartisan participation that we saw in the 9/11 Commission, that’s very important,” she concluded.

Lindsey Graham Says That ‘If We Can Get Behind President Trump And Follow His Lead, We Will Win In 2022’

Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) spoke out on Monday night to urge Republicans to stay loyal to former President Donald Trump, saying that moving forward, he is the “alternative” to President Joe Biden.

Graham Sends Message To Republicans

Graham went so far as to say that Republicans will win the 2022 midterm elections if they stay loyal to Trump.

“[H]e will position himself as the alternative to Joe Biden. He, I think, will make a speech that will unify Republicans on policy,” he said. “That I think he’s been working the phones. I was with him all weekend. He wants us to win in 2022.”

“And stay tuned,” he continued. “I think you’re going to see over the next couple of months, Donald Trump lead the Republican Party on policy and give us the energy we need to take back the House and the Senate.”

“The Democrats are doing their part,” Graham added. “If we can get behind President Trump and follow his lead, we will win in 2022. If we argue with ourselves, we’re going to — we’re going to lose. And there’s no reason to lose.”

Graham Meets With Trump

This comes after Graham met with Trump over the weekend at Mar-a-Lago, and he told The Hill that they “just talked about the 2022 cycle.”

“He’s very involved in helping the team win,” Graham added, saying that Trump “made a bunch of phone calls,” specifically with GOP senators, and is “trying to get the best team on the field.”

When asked if there was any indication that Trump would run for president again in 2024, Graham simply said, “Stay tuned,” according to The New York Post.

Graham Slams Richard Burr

This comes days after Graham said that the decision of retiring GOP Sen. Richard Burr of North Carolina to vote in favor of convicting Trump in his impeachment trial makes the former president’s daughter-in-law Lara Trump a shoe-in to win the 2022 Republican nomination to succeed Burr.

“The biggest winner of this whole impeachment trial I think is Lara Trump,” Graham said.

“My dear friend Richard Burr, who I like and I’ve been friends to a long time, just made Lara Trump almost the certain nominee for the Senate seat in North Carolina to replace him if she runs, and I certainly would be behind her because I think she represents the future of the Republican Party,” he added.

Trump Lashes Out At Supreme Court For Allowing New York ‘Witch Hunt’ To Continue

Former President Donald Trump spoke out on Monday to respond publicly after the the Supreme Court rejected his bid to prevent New York prosecutors from obtaining his financial records.

Trump Lashes Out At Supreme Court

“The Supreme Court never should have let this ‘fishing expedition’ happen, but they did,” Trump wrote in a lengthy statement that was released to the press.

This came after the Supreme Court voted to reject Trump’s application to stay a lower court’s order, which allows prosecutors to subpoena his tax, financial, and bank records. This did not sit well with Trump, who blasted the effort of Manhattan District Attorney Cy Vance Jr. as “a continuation of the greatest political Witch Hunt in the history of our Country.”

“The Tea Party was treated far better by the IRS than Donald Trump,” Trump said, according to The Hill. “This is something which has never happened to a President before.”

Trump Doubles Down

Not stopping there, the former president also ripped the investigation as a partisan effort by Democrat New York officials, including Gov. Andrew Cuomo, to punish him for winning the presidency.

“The new phenomenon of ‘headhunting’ prosecutors and AGs — who try to take down their political opponents using the law as a weapon — is a threat to the very foundation of our liberty,” Trump wrote.

Trump then warned that the ongoing probe imitated those of third world countries trying to punish their political rivals.

“That’s fascism, not justice — and that is exactly what they are trying to do with respect to me, except that the people of our Country won’t stand for it,” he wrote.

Despite his strong feelings on this, Trump made it clear that he has no intention of giving up.

“I will fight on, just as I have, for the last five years (even before I was successfully elected), despite all of the election crimes that were committed against me,” Trump said. “We will win!”

This comes as Trump is preparing to give a speech at CPAC this coming weekend. It remains to be seen if he will touch on the Supreme Court scandal.

Dem Rep. Raskin Warns That Trump ‘Remains A Clear And Present Danger To The American People’

Representative Jamie Raskin (D-MD) went on “The View” on Monday to attack Donald Trump, claiming that the former president “remains a clear and present danger to the American people” despite the fact that he is out of office and has been banned from social media.

Raskin Attacks Trump

“I believe in Donald Trump’s mind he absolutely is the future, and he’s going to try to maintain that kind of authoritarian relationship with people in the Republican Party,” Raskin said.

“I think we need to confront his criminality, his corruption, and his dangerousness every single day. As long as he’s still out there, he remains a clear and present danger to the American people,” he added.

“He spent four years in office cozying up to every dictator and despot on earth, from Putin in Russia to Orbán in Hungary to Duterte in the Philippines, el-Sisi Egypt,” Raskin said. “You find a criminal in public office that was Donald Trump’s guy.”

“They’re going to be, you know, sending Jared Kushner out there on a globetrotting tour of every kleptocracy and autocracy on earth in order to collect the money they feel they deserve from having worked with all of these regimes,” he continued.

Related: Jim Jordan Calls Out Dems’ ‘Double Standards’ – They ‘Objected To More States In 2017 Than Republicans Did Last Week’

Raskin Doubles Down

“That money will be used to try to get Donald Trump to return to the White House,” Raskin said. “Of course, if he were to ever able to get back in, he would try to stay forever. He was already talking about a third term and how the Democrats owed him more terms and so on.”

“So I think he remains a very clear and viable threat to the American republic and obviously to the Republican Party. He is likely to destroy the republican party because of his authoritarianism and his determination to remain a cult leader,” he concluded.

During the four years that Trump was in office, Raskin was one of the most fiercely anti-Trump people in Congress. That’s why it came as no surprise when he became the lead House impeachment manager during the Democratic Party’s latest attempt to impeach Trump.

Eric Trump Reveals His Father Is Not Going Away – ‘He Is The Modern Republican Party’

Eric Trump went on Fox News on Monday morning to talk about his father’s future, saying that the actions taken so far in the presidency of Joe Biden are making people miss former President Donald Trump.

Eric Trump Discusses His Father

“I think every single day, Biden makes people miss Donald Trump more,” Eric said of his dad.

“When you see some of these policies that are literally destroying jobs, that are destroying industries, that are causing Texas to freeze, that are cutting off our power to our energy grids and all these other nonsensical policies. Right now, the enthusiasm, it’s better than it’s ever been,” he added.

Eric then talked about Trump’s future after it was announced that the former president would be giving a speech at the CPAC event this weekend, an annual meeting of American conservatives, according to The Independent.

“There’s 75-80 million people who would follow my father to the end of the Earth,” Eric said, adding that they love Trump because he is not a traditional politician.

“There’s no question he will play a pivotal role in politics for a very long time to come,” Eric explained. “I really do believe he is the modern Republican Party.”

Eric also predicted that the Republicans in the House and Senate who turned on Trump and supported impeachment are “going to get primaried” when they come up for reelection.

Eric Declares War On Republicans

This comes weeks after Eric declared war on the Republicans who had turned on his father.

“My father has started a movement, and this movement will never, ever die,” Eric said, adding that this movement “will transcend [Donald Trump], it will transcend all of us”

Eric doubled down on this in a Twitter post.

“I will personally work to defeat every single Republican Senator / Congressman who doesn’t stand up against this fraud – they will be primaried in their next election and they will lose,” he wrote.

His brother Donald Trump Jr. had similar comments.

“They need to fight for Trump, because if not, I’m gonna be in your backyard in a couple of months,” he said. “If you’re gonna be the zero and not the hero, we’re coming for you.”

Newt Gingrich Warns Trump Will Keep Dominating Republican Party – ‘Nobody Can Fight Him’

In a new interview, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich discussed what he believes to be the future of the Republican Party following former President Donald Trump’s departure from the White House.

Gingrich Discusses Trump And GOP

Gingrich said that Trump’s “reach” in the party is still “enormous,” and that nobody in the GOP, including Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY), “can fight him.”

“[W]hat’s very striking is that President Trump still has such enormous reach in the party that nobody can fight him,” Gingrich said on New York City AM 970 radio’s “The Cats Roundtable.” “I mean, you can complain about him.”

“You can criticize him,” he added. “But McConnell can’t possibly fight Trump. He doesn’t have a big enough base. And it’s also a reminder that there is sort of an establishment insider party that sits around at cocktail parties in Washington.”

“And then there’s this huge country outside of Washington,” Gingrich continued. “And that country in 2015, by about two to one, did not like the Republican leadership in the Congress, and that was the forerunner of us ending up with Trump as the presidential nominee.”

“I think … [Kevin] McCarthy has been much smarter as the House Republican leader to recognize his ability to get the extra seats rests almost entirely on working with Trump — not picking a fight with him,” he added.

Gingrich ‘Will Not Accept Joe Biden As President’

Ever since the election, Gingrich has not hidden the fact that he believes it was likely stolen from President Donald Trump.

He recently penned an op-ed called “Why I will not accept Joe Biden as president,” which was published in The Washington Times. In this op-ed, he explained that he can’t accept the results of this election because of an anger he has never felt before.

“As I thought about it, I realized my anger and fear were not narrowly focused on votes,” Gingrich wrote. “My unwillingness to relax and accept that the election was over grew out of a level of outrage and alienation unlike anything I had experienced in more than 60 years involvement in public affairs.”

Related: Gingrich: Pelosi Impeachment Push Is Because She’s Scared Trump Might Run Again – And Win

He went on to complain about the fact that those on the left and the right now “live in alternative worlds.”

“You have more than 74 million voters who supported President Trump despite everything — and given the election mess, the number could easily be significantly higher. The truth is tens of millions of Americans are deeply alienated and angry,” Gingrich wrote.

“If Mr. Biden governs from the left — and he will almost certainly be forced to — that number will grow rapidly, and we will win a massive election in 2022,” he added.
