MSNBC’s Joy Reid Compares Floridians Evacuating Hurricane Ian to Illegal Immigrants: ‘Ironic That They Have to Pour Over the Borders and Go North’

MSNBC host Joy Reid belittled Floridians trying to escape Hurricane Ian, comparing them to illegal immigrants and suggesting it’s “ironic” they have to “pour over the borders” to get out of the state.

Reid made the comments on her show Tuesday, as Ian was strengthening into what is likely to be a catastrophic storm once it hits the Sunshine state.

Reid would have done well to test her messaging out by saying it in a mirror where she surely would have picked up on the fact that her claim is plain dumb.

But she didn’t. Instead, viewers were treated to this deep thought.

“It’s a bit ironic now that you might have Floridians having to pour over the borders and go north and get out of the state of Florida in the exact same crisis we have been talking about on a trolling level in that state for a long time,” she said.

Joy Reid Compares Florida Residents Fleeing Hurricane Ian to Illegal Immigration

The idea that people temporarily leaving their homes ahead of Hurricane Ian by evacuating to another part of the state or a neighboring state within their own country is akin to illegally entering another country altogether is as stupid as it sounds.

Which is exactly the kind of programming you’d expect from MSNBC.

And Reid doubled down.

“And be careful about attacking people who have to move to save their own lives and safety, because you never know who, it’s your people that have to move, when it’s your people who have to migrate, when it’s your people who have to get on that road,” she continued.

“So just a thought.”

But there isn’t a ‘thought’ to be found anywhere in that statement. They aren’t evacuating to another country. And in a short period, everybody will be moving back to their home.

Accuses DeSantis of Owning the Libs

Rest assured, liberals in the media are hoping Hurricane Ian results in a catastrophic disaster. They can’t wait for any crisis that can be used to ‘own’ Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.

They’ve put on their dancing shoes.

Ironically, Reid suggested the hurricane will test DeSantis in a way he hasn’t been tested because he doesn’t work and spends most of his time allegedly on Fox News.

“Florida prepares for a monster storm, with landfall expected tomorrow,” she said during the broadcast. “Governor Ron DeSantis is going to be put to the test, forced to actually do his job. When he’s used to spending most of his time hanging out on Fox News and owning the libs.”

All while trying – and failing – to own DeSantis.

While it is true that he absolutely owns the libs, it’s usually a side benefit of doing his job. Left-wing hacks that infest the American media don’t like politicians that actually do what is good for their state or what is good for the country. That’s why he is so reviled by people like Joy Reid.

Bottom feeders like this will always have jobs on mainstream outlets as long as Republicans are successful at putting America first. Consider her continued presence to be a good sign.

Top Dem Nadler Knew Trump Impeachment Process Was ‘Unconstitutional’ But Schiff and Pelosi Dismissed Him

Powerful Democrat Representative Jerry Nadler was reportedly convinced the process behind the first impeachment trial of Donald Trump was “unconstitutional” and tried warning House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and fellow Rep. Adam Schiff, only to be rebuffed.

The extraordinary accounting comes from excerpts of a new book titled, “Unchecked: The Untold Story Behind Congress’s Botched Impeachments of Donald Trump.”

Fox News, which obtained the excerpts, reports that Nadler had issues with how Schiff (D-CA) was planning to run impeachment proceedings, particularly concerned that the then-President was not being afforded due process.

The New York Democrat was so concerned, the book’s authors reveal, that he told Schiff the process is “unfair, and it’s unprecedented, and it’s unconstitutional.”

RELATED: Schiff: Impeachment Necessary to Stop Trump In 2020

Nadler: Trump Impeachment is Unconstitutional

Despite Nadler’s initial concerns, House Democrats impeached former President Trump on the basis of a July 25, 2019, phone call between he and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

Trump, according to transcripts of the call, asked Zelensky to “look into” Joe Biden and his son Hunter.

Trump maintained that nothing untoward took place during the conversation.

Schiff, who seemed unconcerned about potential constitutional violations of Trump’s rights during the impeachment proceedings, responded to Nadler’s concerns by saying, “I don’t appreciate your tone.”

He also said, “I worry you’re putting us in a box for our investigation.”

Nadler’s warnings persisted.

“If we’re going to impeach, we need to show the country that we gave the president ample opportunity to defend himself,” he demanded.

The Fox News report indicates again that Pelosi and Schiff were less concerned with due process and more concerned that Trump’s lawyers, if allowed to convey their own messages during the proceedings, would hurt Biden’s chances of being elected.

“F*** Donald Trump,” Schiff’s team is accused of saying.

Pelosi, meanwhile, was arguing that Americans weren’t going to understand the complexity of the impeachment charges and that they’d have to carefully construct the narrative.

“We need to make the case more strongly that this is a national security issue,” Pelosi said, according to the book.

“Eighty percent plus say it’s not okay for the president to ask for foreign assistance [in an election] — despite Trump asserting that he can do it,” she added. “I just think we need to make this case to rural voters, evangelicals, and Republicans.”

Pelosi: If Trump Complains About Due Process, We’ll Ignore Him

The authors of the book contend that Pelosi’s strategy to combat concerns of due process were to simply ignore them.

“Let’s not give them any attention,” she allegedly said adding, “Democrats are giving Trump more rights than the Democrats had under the Clinton impeachment.”

Anybody who witnessed the show that was the impeachment proceedings knows Democrats were more concerned about stopping Trump from being re-elected than anything else.

Schiff, you may recall, argued that impeachment couldn’t wait at that time because Trump cheated in the 2016 presidential election and Democrats couldn’t afford for that to happen again.

“The argument, ‘why don’t you just wait?’ comes down to this,” Schiff claimed. “‘Why don’t you just let him cheat in just one more election? Why not let him have foreign help one more time?'”

Whoa. You heard that correctly. Schiff, very clearly denying the results of the 2016 presidential election.

Some would call that ‘insurrection.’

Schiff also completely fabricated quotes by President Trump during a congressional whistleblower hearing on the Ukraine controversy. Something so absurd even George Stephanopoulus called him out.

And while the proceedings were so “unfair” that Jerry Nadler had to call them out, Senator Mitt Romney (R-UT) came to the defense of Pelosi at the time.

“She’s able to do what she feels is right. That’s up to her,” Romney said in defending Pelosi. “At this stage, the process is to continue to gather information but clearly what we’ve seen from the transcript itself is deeply troubling.”

Of course, the narrative from that “deeply troubling” transcript was manipulated by anti-Trump lawmakers and media members from the start.

Nadler, somewhere along the line, went from accusing Schiff of conducting things unconstitutionally, to saying Senate Republicans, by not going along with the sham, were behaving in the same manner.

“If the Senate doesn’t permit the introduction of all relevant witnesses and of all documents that the House wants to introduce, because the House is the prosecutor here, then the Senate is — is engaging in an unconstitutional and disgusting cover-up,” he claimed.

He said that knowing what Democrats had just done in the House was ‘unconstitutional and disgusting.’

Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) responded to those comments by alluding to what Nadler had previously argued about the process.

“We’re not going to do a kangaroo court, like they did in the House,” Paul fired back. “The House only produced witnesses that Adam Schiff agreed to.”

Matt Gaetz Warns There Are Republican Squishes Already Trying to Shut Down Biden Impeachment

MAGA Representative Matt Gaetz, in an interview on Steve Bannon’s War Room podcast, claims there are Republican lawmakers already voicing opposition to impeaching President Biden should the GOP take back the House.

Gaetz also says some of his Republican colleagues are working against the impeachment of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, who he accuses of “purposefully turning our border into a turnstile.”

“There are current members of the Republican majority, people who will be in the next Congress, who are arguing very, very fervently that they will oppose the use of the ‘I’ word, impeachment, in any context for any official in the Biden administration,” he told Bannon.

“And I believe that would totally misunderstand the mandate that the American people are giving us.”

Gaetz: Biden Impeachment is a Priority

Gaetz has insisted impeachment must be a priority for Republicans should the midterms yield control of the House. He notes that it’s time to start fighting fire with fire.

Democrats, after all, did not hesitate to impeach Trump for a pair of absurd reasons that did not amount to high crimes and misdemeanors.

“If we don’t use the same tools, if we don’t engage in impeachment inquiries to get the documents and the testimony and the information we need, then I believe that our voters will feel betrayed,” said Gaetz.

“And that likely could be the biggest win that Democrats could hope for in 2024,” he surmised.

Plenty of Reasons to Impeach – But Who Will Actually Do It?

The Political Insider reported in December that the GOP is planning investigations on several fronts should they prevail in the midterms: The IRS, the National Security Agency, parents of school children, the border crisis, COVID response, and Afghanistan.

While it would be nice to get them all on record, we can only guess as to which Republicans would actually follow through on an impeachment inquiry into President Biden regarding any of these issues.

I’m pretty confident Gaetz would pursue the inquiry.

Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) as recently as a few weeks ago insisted Biden should be impeached following his divisive speech in which he called Republicans who back Donald Trump “extremists.”

“I guess when President Butterbeans is frail, weak, and dementia ridden, the Hitler imagery was their attempt to make him look ‘tough’ while he declares war on half of America as enemies of the state,” Greene tweeted.

Another MAGA Rep., Lauren Boebert (R-CO), wasn’t shy about calling for Biden’s impeachment over last year’s disastrous troop withdrawal from Afghanistan.

Who else would be on board?

Representative Nancy Mace, by contrast, recently made the absurd argument that impeaching President Biden would be a “divisive” move.

“I will not vote for impeachment of any president if I feel that due process was stripped away, for anyone,” she told MSNBC. “I typically vote constitutionally, regardless of who is in power.”

Senator Ted Cruz has suggested the House has grounds to begin impeachment hearings against President Biden.

“If we take the House, which I said is overwhelmingly likely, then I think we will see serious investigations of the Biden administration,” Cruz said.

Cruz, unlike the Republican squishes who Gaetz claims are already backing down, understands that the Democrats are the ones who opened Pandora’s Box.

“Whether it’s justified or not, the Democrats weaponized impeachment. They used it for partisan purposes to go after Trump because they disagreed with him,” Cruz said.

According to Rasmussen Reports, a majority of voters – including a third of Democrats – believe President Biden should be impeached.

“Republican voters overwhelmingly believe President Joe Biden should be impeached, and half of independents agree,” the polling outfit reports.

GOP lawmakers and candidates should be asked if they’d be willing to consider moving on a matter that a majority of Americans want them to pursue.

Report: Mitch McConnell Said He’s ‘Done’ With ‘Crazy’ Trump Over Capitol Riot

Senator Mitch McConnell was considering a vote to convict Donald Trump in the impeachment trial over his alleged role in the Capitol riot and said he was “done with” the “crazy” former President over the incident.

The revelations surfaced in excerpts published from the upcoming book, Unchecked: The Untold Story Behind Congress’s Botched Impeachments of Donald Trump, written by Politico’s Rachael Bade and the Washington Post’s Karoun Demirjian.

Explaining that the vote to convict Trump would represent “one of the most pivotal votes of his career,” the authors indicated McConnell (R-KY) was all but certain the GOP would purge themselves of the then-President.

“But while McConnell was ready to be done with Trump, his party, it seemed, was not,” they wrote.

RELATED: Trump Slams ‘Broken Down Hack’ Mitch McConnell And His ‘Crazy Wife’

Mitch McConnell Said He’s ‘Done With’ Trump

The book excerpts provided by the Washington Post quickly put Mitch McConnell in AOC or Adam Kinzinger territory with his melodramatic reaction to the events of January 6.

They describe him as “stunned” at what “marauders” had done at the Capitol and illustrate a man “overcome with emotion at the trauma [his aides] experienced.”

The result was this promise: “We’ve all known that Trump is crazy,” McConnell told them. “I’m done with him. I will never speak to him again.”

And while the Senate Republican leader may have been prepared to move on, it became clear that the GOP didn’t have the votes to convict Trump, despite efforts by Liz Cheney (R-WY) to convince him to take action in short order, circumventing due process.

“She pressed him in a series of phone calls to bring the Senate back from a congressional recess before the Biden inauguration and quickly convict Trump before he left office,” the authors reveal.

“Republicans would follow his lead, she insisted to McConnell. And besides, Trump still posed an ongoing threat to the country.”

On that last point, according to the book, McConnell “did not disagree” though he knew the logistics would make a quick conviction impossible.

“We don’t disagree on the substance; we just disagree on the tactics,” he allegedly told Cheney. “Let’s just ignore him.”

Trump Says McConnell is a Broken Down Hack

The latest book on the events surrounding the Capitol riot square with another previously published effort alleging Mitch McConnell admitted he was “exhilarated” that Trump had “totally discredited himself” over the entire ordeal.

He also took joy that Trump seemingly had ‘committed political suicide.’

“I feel exhilarated by the fact that this fellow finally, totally discredited himself,” McConnell said. “He put a gun to his head and pulled the trigger. Couldn’t have happened at a better time.”

McConnell, it seems according to a New York Times column from the authors of that particular book, thought the “The Democrats are going to take care of the son of a bitch for us.”

Trump has repeatedly taken shots at Mitch McConnell ever since the Senate Minority leader vowed to be “done with” him.

How Did No One Notice Bill Clinton’s Response To His Nemesis Ken Starr’s Death?

It appears that time does not heal all wounds, especially in politics. On Sunday, former President Bill Clinton was interviewed by CNN’s Fareed Zakaria.

At one point, Zakaria mentioned the recent passing of former White House Independent Counsel Ken Starr. Starr’s family announced his death last week from complications from surgery.

Starr was the special prosecutor that presided over the Whitewater investigation, and of course Clinton’s involvement with then-White House Intern Monica Lewinsky that resulted in Clinton’s impeachment.

Clinton’s reaction to Zakaria’s question should have raised eyebrows from coast to coast.

Clinton And Starr Not BFF’s

Clinton’s response to Starr’s passing might well go down as an all-time backhanded slam.

Zakaria posed the question to Clinton, “Ken Starr just passed away. This was the Special Prosecutor, Independent Counsel for Whitewater. Never filed a charge on Whitewater. But put the second term of your presidency upside down. Do you have any thoughts, any reflection?”

It had to be one the most careful moments of Clinton’s life. He stated matter of factly:

I read the obituary, and I realized that his family loved him, and I think that’s something to be grateful for. And when your life is over, that’s all there is to say. But I was taught not to talk about people that, you know…I have nothing to say, except that I’m glad he died with the love of his family.

Brutal.

From Whitewater To Lewinsky

Ken Starr’s deep dive into the financial life of Bill and Hillary Clinton began with the investigation into a land deal that would become the Whitewater Development Corporation.

The deal eventually fell through, and neither Clinton was charged with a crime. Their partners the McDougals, however, did not fare as well. Both were charged with crimes and served time in prison.

As Starr investigated the Clintons more, it led him to the sexual harassment allegations of Bill Clinton by Paula Jones, and ultimately several other women, and the affair with Monica Lewinsky.

Starr’s investigations into Bill Clinton led to charges by Democrats and the media as being politically motivated. Starr denied any charges of political attacks. He said at the time:

“I was assigned to do a job by the attorney general, and that was to find out whether crimes were committed in this (Paula Jones) sexual harassment lawsuit. The whole idea of equal justice under law means that you’ve got to play by the rules. It has nothing to do with the underlying subject matter. You just tell the truth.”

Clinton Not The Villain, Starr Is

Prior to the mainstream media’s bromance with Barack Obama, there was Bill Clinton. There was not much he could do wrong, and anyone who suggested any wrongdoing was going to be subject to the wrath of the Clinton cheering section. Ken Starr was not spared.

Famous leftist Ketih Olbermann compared Starr to Nazi Heinrich Himmler. Dianne Sawyer, sure that it was just the mind of a “Puritan” on overdrive, said this: “I think there were 62 mentions of the word ‘breast,’ 23 of ‘cigar,’ 19 of ‘semen.’ This has been called demented pornography, pornography for Puritans.”

Conservative Actor Jon Voight Promises to Show Trump’s ‘Beautiful Side’ in Upcoming Documentary

Conservative actor Jon Voight, previewing an upcoming documentary and exclusive interview with Donald Trump, promises to reveal the former President’s “grace,” “humility,” and his “beautiful side.”

Voight, an Academy Award-winning actor, perennial favorite at The Political Insider, and staunch supporter of Trump, has produced an exclusive documentary highlighting the historic Abraham Accords achievement of the former President.

Viewers, according to the actor, will be surprised by how Trump comes across in some portions of the interview.

“You’ll see a side to him that you’ve never seen before — or most people haven’t seen before,” Voight said. “A side of patience, of grace, even humility, I must say. It was it’s a very beautiful side to him that is exposed here.”

“The Abraham Accords” is set to air on Newsmax this Sunday at 8 p.m.

RELATED: Hollywood Conservative Jon Voight Calls On Joe Biden To Be Impeached

Jon Voight Promises a Whole New Side to Trump

The Abraham Accords, which then-President Donald Trump aptly described as “the dawn of a new Middle East,” were signed by former Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the leaders of several Arab and Muslim-majority nations.

UAE Foreign Minister Abdullah bin Zayed al-Nahyan and Bahrain Foreign Minister Khalid bin Ahmed Al Khalif initially signed the agreement, which involved establishing embassies, exchanging ambassadors, and instituting a process to work together as partners.

Morocco and Sudan soon followed.

Democrat Rep. Ted Deutch (FL) praised the Accords, noting bipartisan support.

“It provided a transformative, positive lens through which we can all now look at what is sometimes a challenging region,” Deutch said.

An Unprecedented Movement Toward Peace

Trump’s efforts with the Abraham Accords earned him two Nobel Peace Prize nominations, something the media failed to promote even though peace in the Middle East had once been thought unheard of.

“It’s an unbelievable thing, a movement towards peace of this kind; it was unprecedented,” Voight told Newsmax host Eric Bolling.

“It’s really been quite a remarkable thing what happened — peace for the first time in that area was brought forth.”

And he accomplished something that former Democrat presidential candidate John Kerry completely dismissed as a possibility.

“There will be no separate peace between Israel and the Arab world,” Kerry said, indicating it couldn’t be done without including Palestinians in the negotiations. “I want to make that very clear with all of you.”

Then-White House senior adviser Jared Kushner explained the exact opposite approach is what led to The Abraham Accords.

“Faced with the same Palestinian rejectionism that had stymied previous negotiators, Kushner focused on accomplishing the possible rather than the impossible,” Newsweek wrote.

“When they signed the Accords, the mainstream media, of course, didn’t want to do anything to encourage any praise for Trump, so they kept it quiet,” Voight told Newsmax.

He posted a video this past summer calling for the impeachment of President Joe Biden.

“He must be impeached,” Voight said. “Don’t let this President Biden tear down every inch that was sacrificed with blood, sweat, and tears for his dictation of lies.”

Nikki Haley Says Immigrants Often More Patriotic Than Americans – Is She Right?

Former Republican Governor of South Carolina and U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley is in the hot seat for comments she made while at a campaign event on Saturday with Republican Pennsylvania Senate candidate Dr. Mehmet Oz.

Dr. Oz is the son of Turkish immigrants and Haley is the daughter of Indian immigrants. Both were born in the U.S.

While apparently trying to make a point about immigrants’ love for America she said this, “My parents came here because they wanted a better life for their family…they came here legally…legal immigrants are more patriotic than most Americans these days. Because they appreciate how wonderful this country is.”

Is she right?

RELATED: Border Patrol: Mexicans ‘Virtually Absent’ At Top Border Crossings, Instead People Coming From 115 Different Countries

Fair Statement?

While Haley may have gotten a bit of pushback for her comments, she also appeared on the Dom Giordano radio program to clarify her comments – arguing that she meant immigrants are more patriotic than progressives.

But is it fair to say that a big chunk of native born Americans feel no sense of patriotism for their country? A quick perusal of social media does not say if the author of any post is a natural born citizen, however, there is plenty of anti-American sentiment to go around.

Nikki Haley may have a very good point.

There is no shortage of people willing to say it out loud. This is one of many.

But in most cases, there really just aren’t any words.

And of course, at the end of the day, it’s Donald Trump and MAGA followers’ fault.

The Cato Institute looked at numbers in the General Social Survey in 2019 and found that, in many instances, immigrants do perceive America more positively than native citizens. However, respondents weren’t split up by ideology or political party.

RELATED: Hillary Clinton On Whether Trump Should Be Indicted: ‘No One Is Above The Law’

Sobering Observation

Haley also gave a speech at the National Honor Society on Saturday, where she sounded a warning about patriotism and love of country fading among America’s young people. She stated about young people in the U.S., “You, above all others, remind us that America is worth fighting for.”

Haley also spoke of her time as U.N. Ambassador, and the anti-American sentiment abroad:

“It pains me to say that we live in a time when national pride is fading fast. Now, I’m no stranger to people hating on the United States. I saw it every day at the U.N. Dictators and thugs loved to get in front of the camera and tell the world how bad America is. It’s their favorite pastime, and as far as I can tell, it’s now the main purpose of the United Nations. Proving the haters wrong and defending our country was the best part of the job. But I never expected to hear those same lies from my fellow Americans.”

In her speech, Haley also mentioned ongoing atrocities in other nations, and added, “America is the best nation in human history — and she deserves all of our love. We have to get our patriotism back. We have to raise up the next generation to love our country, not hate it.”

RELATED: Expert: CA Spends $54B To Fight Climate Change With ‘No Realistic Plan’

Checking Which Way The Winds Are Blowing

Since the end of the Trump administration, Nikki Haley has been something of a question mark. Immediately following the Jan. 6 riot, as Democrats were preparing a second impeachment of former President Donald Trump, Haley appeared to turn on her former boss.

Weeks after the riot, in an interview with Politico, Haley stated, “We need to acknowledge he let us down. He went down a path he shouldn’t have, and we shouldn’t have followed him, and we shouldn’t have listened to him. And we can’t ever let that happen again.”

Almost immediately following that statement, Haley requested a meeting with Trump at Mar-a-Lago, and was turned down. Even with the appearance of a snub from Trump, Nikki Haley continues to be on the list of possible 2024 GOP presidential hopefuls, along with names like Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, former Vice President Mike Pence, and former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.

Talking about a return to patriotism during an administration that sees half of Americans as enemies of the state could be something that gets Nikki Haley a bit of traction.

Biden Ripped for Continuing to Assail Trump Supporters, Says ‘MAGA Proposals’ a Threat to the ‘Soul of the Country’

President Biden on Labor Day weekend sent a message to his followers that “MAGA proposals” – an intentionally vague term encompassing nearly all platforms opposed to his own policies – are “a threat to the very soul of this country.”

The commentary is yet another attempt to portray Republicans as the “other” folks, dangerous and hell-bent on taking down this nation.

Last week, Biden assailed Trump supporters – 74 million of them – by repeatedly referring to “MAGA Republicans” in a speech about the ‘soul of the nation’ as extremists and a “threat to this country.”

He revealed what some of those ‘MAGA proposals’ entail during that same speech.

RELATED: MAGA Rep Marjorie Taylor Greene Calls For Biden’s Impeachment Following ‘President Butterbeans’ Divisive Speech

What Is He Talking About?

During last week’s speech, President Biden repeatedly painted supporters of former President Trump as being “extremists” and a “threat.”

“MAGA forces are determined to take this country backwards — backwards to an America where there is no right to choose, no right to privacy, no right to contraception, no right to marry who you love,” he said, without evidence, in an angry tirade.

“They promote authoritarian leaders, and they fan the flames of political violence that are a threat to our personal rights, to the pursuit of justice, to the rule of law, to the very soul of this country.”

That must be what ‘MAGA proposals’ are in Biden’s mind – Not killing babies. How extreme.

The fact that he lumped the abortion argument into his rant seems to suggest he views the Supreme Court of the United States as a ‘MAGA’ institution, thereby making them “extremists.”

Biden’s ‘MAGA Proposals’ Tweet Gets Slammed

Prior to the ‘MAGA proposals’ tweet, President Biden also criticized the “MAGA agenda” as a threat to the nation.

“The MAGA agenda represents an extremism that threatens the very foundations of our Republic,” he (or his handlers) wrote. “It doesn’t respect our Constitution. It doesn’t believe in the rule of law. And it doesn’t recognize the will of the people.”

Critics swiftly took President Biden to task for suggesting ‘MAGA proposals’ are a threat to the nation.

Fox News contributor Guy Benson called Biden’s statement “idiotic” and pointed to several ‘MAGA’ proposals which are a benefit to the soul of the nation.

“The tax cuts & deregulation? The Middle East peace accords? Border enforcement? These ‘MAGA’ policy proposals are not ‘threats to the very soul of this country’ & idiotic to say so,” Benson wrote.

“If you have a serious critique, tailor it specifically. This ain’t it.”

“If I were Trump, I’d encourage wedding proposals at his rallies, like tomorrow,” joked Fox News personality Greg Gutfeld.

“Who is this intern? He/she, whatever pronoun, this is stupid and dangerous,” wrote RedState columnist Buzz Patterson.

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy chimed in saying, “He’s right about one thing … There IS a threat to the soul of this country.”

His message was accompanied by an image of Biden at his now infamous speech, looking like a fascist dictator.

Trump himself responded to Biden’s attacks by declaring the President to be an “enemy of the state.” Predictably, the media were outraged over the comments, even though he was simply using Biden’s own words against him.

“This week, Joe Biden came to Philadelphia, Pa., to give the most vicious, hateful and divisive speech ever delivered by an American president, vilifying 75 million citizens … as threats to democracy and as enemies of the state,” said Trump.

He’s an enemy of the state.”

Oddly enough, ‘President Butterbeans,’ as Marjorie Taylor Greene might say, made his ‘MAGA proposals’ comment after he apparently tried to walk back his speech demonizing 74 million Americans.

“I don’t consider any Trump supporter a threat to the country,” Biden said Friday.

Two days later, they were once again “a threat to the very soul of this country.”

Florida Senator Rick Scott Tells Mitch McConnell To Stop Trash-Talking Candidates

As the midterm election battle heats up, establishment Republicans seem to have a problem, and it’s not former President Donald Trump. At least not totally.

It is other Republicans who do not have a problem standing up to them (many of those being tied to Donald Trump.)

The latest example is Sen. Rick Scott (R-FL). Scott is also the head of the National Republican Senatorial Committee, the Senate campaign arm of the GOP.

Scott is not pleased with some comments made last month by Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell.

Demeaning Candidates

Mitch McConnell was at the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce Luncheon when he was asked about the possibility of Republicans taking over control of the Senate in November.

McConnell stated that there was a better chance of the House being taken over by the GOP than the Senate. But it was this knock on the candidates chosen by Republican voters that have drawn some ire: “Senate races are just different, they’re statewide. Candidate quality has a lot to do with the outcome.”

In response, Scott stated that he and McConnell have “a strategic disagreement” about that.

During an interview with Politico, Scott said:

“We have great candidates. He wants to do the same thing I want to do: I want to get a majority. And I think it’s important that we’re all cheerleaders for our candidates. If you trash talk our candidates … you hurt our chances of winning, and you hurt our candidates’ ability to raise money. I know they’re good candidates, because I’ve been talking to them and they’re working their butts off.”

Scott added that negative talk about GOP candidates was “not productive.”

Trump Also Responds

At the time of McConnell’s comments, Donald Trump also had some thoughts on the leader of the Senate Republicans bad mouthing candidates, many of whom just happened to be endorsed by Trump.

It’s the latest episode in an ongoing feud of sorts between Trump and McConnell. Their back and forth tends to illustrate the growing pains going on within the party. Old Guard establishment types who have been in Washington D.C. forever and don’t want to confront Democrats on anything, versus a new generation of no-nonsense Republicans who have no problem taking on the Democrats and winning.

Trump stated, “Why do Republicans Senators allow a broken down hack politician, Mitch McConnell, to openly disparage hard-working Republican candidates for the United States Senate? This is such an affront to honor and to leadership.”

Earlier the same week, Trump had called for the GOP to immediately oust McConnell. He called McConnell “a pawn for the Democrats.” The second statement on Truth Social was in response to a story by the The Federalist, which claimed that McConnell and his wife, former Trump Secretary of Transportation Elaine Chao, had “spent decades getting rich on China.”

Trump also said of the McConnells, “The Democrats have Mitch McConnell and his lovely wife, Elaine ‘Coco’ Chao, over a barrel. He and she will never be prosecuted, as per the last paragraphs of this story, as long as he continues to give the Radical Left the Trillions and Trillions of Dollars that they constantly DEMAND.”

Maybe Mitch Could Start Helping

Mitch McConnell has made it clear that not only does he not like Donald Trump, but he doesn’t like Trump-endorsed candidates as well. The former is fine. The second is not, for a person in his position.

McConnell is going to have to answer whether he really wants to win in November and retake the Senate, or continue to be a puppet for Chuck Schumer and the Democrats and go along to get along.

While there is still a way to go, GOP candidates in key Senate races could use the boost. According to Real Clear Politics average polls, in Arizona, Democrat Senator Mark Kelly is up by six points to GOP challenger Blake Masters.

In Georgia, the race is tightening, with Sen. Raphael Warnock up by just one point over Herschel Walker. In Ohio, J.D. Vance is up by 3.7 points over Sen. Tim Ryan. In the all-important Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, far-left Democrat Lt. Gov. John Fetterman is up by 6.5 points over Dr. Mehmet Oz, and in Wisconsin, Democrat Lt. Gov. Mandela Barnes is up over Sen. Ron Johnson by 4.3 points.

Maybe Mitch McConnell could stop playing mean girls with Donald Trump long enough to help some Republicans win.

37 Years And 7 Tours In The Military, And All We Get Is Our President Calling Us Extremist Fascists?

My husband and I consider ourselves ordinary people. We rent a 3 bedroom town home and pay our taxes. We raise our children as best we can, and my husband homeschools our 6-year-old daughter. My husband is an artist, and I am a writer and content creator.

What makes us extraordinary is the cumulative 37 years of service to our nation. My husband was in the Air Force for 17 years, and I retired last year from the Air Force after 20 years and 8 months of service.

We both deployed numerous times to various locations, including Afghanistan.

We both saw varying levels of combat, including gunfights, explosions, enemy detention facility riots, and death on a scale that words cannot do justice.

And for all that sacrifice, we were treated to our President calling us extremists.

How Could You?

My husband and I often joke that if it wasn’t for the defense issues, we’d probably be Libertarians versus Republicans. We believe that government rarely fixes anything and that government should stay out of social issues and trust in the people to innovate and know what is best for themselves and their families.

We voted for Donald Trump both times. The first time I voted for him was because there was absolutely no way I could vote for Hillary Clinton. Still, for the sake of word count and my editor’s sanity, I’ll just drop one big reason: Benghazi.

I voted for Trump the second time because while I didn’t care for the tweets, and I personally think he often lacks class, I do believe that President Trump had done wonders for the economy pre-COVID, and I liked his fresh take on Foreign Policy.

Besides, Joe Biden is an establishment politician who I believe is disingenuous. I feared he would bend to the will of his more dare I say it… extreme left members of his party.

How Dare You

So we voted for Trump twice. Does that make us “MAGA Republicans?” I don’t think so because, personally, I think the term is stupid.

We are Republicans. I think the President believes, along with the elite members of his party who like to tout inclusion and civility, that we are too dumb to know that when they say MAGA Republicans, they really mean all Republicans.

I was still in uniform when January 6th happened. I was so upset by what I saw on TV; I felt like the air had been sucked out of my chest. I would only feel this sick feeling one other time while watching the botched withdrawal in Afghanistan.

My husband and I spent large chunks of our young adult lives in Afghanistan. We were lucky; we came back alive with all our appendages. But, unfortunately, many of our friends didn’t come back or left parts of themselves behind.

Are we extremists? No. We know what an extremist looks like. We are well acquainted with what an extremist is capable of. We didn’t leave parts of our bodies in Afghanistan, but parts of our minds will never leave.

Men and women like us have PTSD at various levels thanks to the extremism we witnessed at the behest of politicians. How dare you, Mr. President, call us extremists.

With Honor and Distinction

My husband and I are ordinary people who sacrificed our young adult lives in an extraordinary act by swearing an oath and wearing the uniform with pride. We served with honor and distinction, following lawful orders of those appointed over us and representing the best of what our country has to offer.

When you deploy to a war zone, you put your life on hold. Relationships and family plans get put on pause, your education goals often get put on hiatus, and no one who hasn’t done it can ever fully understand what you miss when you are away from home for so long.

For the families we leave behind; the wives, husbands, and children – their lives must continue without you. They have to learn to live day-to-day events without your presence. And when we return, they have to relearn how to live with you back in their lives.

My husband and I aren’t the only veterans who voted for Donald Trump. We aren’t the only veterans that the Commander-in-Chief called extremists last night.

Shame on you, Mr. President.

The Truth

I didn’t want to just say what I believe in this piece. While I’m the writer in my family, my husband is also a veteran and had some thoughts about last night.

We both acknowledge that there are bad actors who are Republicans who are extremists. Just as there are bad cops, bad teachers, bad soldiers, there are bad Republicans.

But my husband said to me last night while we were watching our President call us extremists:

“What about the extremists in his party? Will he call them out too?”

What is my husband referring to? The Democrats who advocate for abortion up to birth. The Democrats who advocate for parents to be cut out of the education of their children. Democrats who advocate for violence against Supreme Court Justices. Democrats who celebrated the Summer 2020 BLM riots.

That is who my husband is referring to. My husband and I don’t believe all Democrats are extremists, evil, fascists, or any other terrible blanket moniker floating around. But not calling out both sides makes you a hypocrite, Mr. President, and is part of why we didn’t vote for you.

Who We Are

My husband and I are ordinary people. We love our country, we love our family, and we believe in something greater than ourselves.

We are two people that want to raise our kids in peace, teach them to be critical thinkers who contribute to society, and perhaps serve in some way as service to something greater than yourself teaches you about sacrifice, duty, and resilience.

We are two people who have had family members disown us because of our political beliefs. Yet, we are two people who spent decades sweating, bleeding, and crying with one of the best families you can ever sign onto…our brothers and sisters in arms.

We are Republicans. We are Americans. We are Patriots.

And you, Mr. President, should be ashamed of yourself.
