Trump Speaks Out On Democrats’ Impeachment ‘Witch Hunt,’ Condemns Violence

On Tuesday, President Trump spoke out about an impending second impeachment process being brought by House Democrats in the aftermath of last week’s violent protests in the nation’s Capitol.

The impeachment effort comes after House Democrats attempted and failed to push Vice President Mike Pence to invoke the 25th Amendment in order to remove the president from office.

Trump Speaks Out About Impeachment, Violence

Not only did the president state that he had no intention of resigning, but that he believes that, “On the impeachment, it’s really a continuation of the greatest witch hunt in the history of politics. It’s ridiculous. It’s absolutely ridiculous.”

“This impeachment is causing tremendous danger.”

He stated that, “It’s a really terrible thing that they’re doing for Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer to continue on this path. I think it’s causing tremendous danger to our country, and it’s causing tremendous anger.”

The President added, “I want no violence — never violence. We want absolutely no violence.”

Trump Also Speaks Out About Capitol Violence

Critics of the president have claimed that in his speech to supporters in Washington last week, he incited the riots at the Capitol building by telling protesters to go to the Capitol, and using the words “march” and “fight.”

However, during his speech, the president said, “I know that everyone here will soon be marching over to the Capitol building to peacefully and patriotically make your voices heard.”

Since the violence last week, the president has condemned the violence several times.

Amidst the riots, Trump had addressed the protesters by saying, “But you have to go home now. We have to have peace.”

He also denounce the violence the next day in a video where he described it as, “a heinous attack.”

This video clip from The Daily Mail shows President Trump calling for peaceful protest:

Some Republicans Supporting Impeachment

Impeachment may prove interesting this time around on the Republican side of the aisle.

Fox news has claimed that “multiple sources” say that Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell is supportive of impeachment, believing that a second impeachment of Trump would help the GOP to “purge” itself of Trump supporters.

The Fox News report went on to say that McConnell’s desire to rid the Republican Party of Trump and Trump loyalists stems from the fact that McConnell is angry not only for the way that Trump responded to the riots, but also feels that Trump is responsible for the Georgia Senate race losses the day before.

The Usual Suspects

Among Republicans who are routinely critical of the president, and have expressed support for impeachment in the past, such as Sen. Mitt Romney (R-UT) and Sen. Ben Sasse (R-Neb), Congresswoman Liz Cheney (R-WY) has said that she would vote to impeach the president.

Cheney stated that, “The President of the United Stats summoned his mob, assembled the mob, and lit the flame of this attack.”

She went on to say that, “The president could have immediately and forcefully intervened to stop the violence. He did not.”

However, there are a growing number of those in Congress who are calling for Cheney to step down as GOP Conference Chairwoman. Cheney’s position is third highest in House Republican leadership.

Among those calling for Cheney’s resignation are Rep. Any Biggs (R-AZ) who said, “The reality is she is not representing the Conference-she is not representing the Republican ideals.” and Rep. Matt Rosendale (R-MT) who said, “She is weakening our Conference at a key moment for personal and political gain and is unfit to lead. She must step down as Conference Chair.”

Representative Jim Jordan, who recently received the Presidential Medal of Freedom from President Trump, joined the calls against Cheney.

WH Official: Trump To Visit Texas To See Border Wall Construction – A ‘Promise Kept’

President Donald Trump will spend part of his last full week in office in Alamo, Texas checking on the progress of the wall on the U.S. southern border. Roughly 450 miles of border wall have been completed thus far.

The border wall was the signature campaign promise issued by Trump and his administration.

Trump’s Border Wall – “Promises Kept”

The President’s visit to observe the ongoing wall construction comes as Congress considers a vote of impeachment stemming from last week’s violent protests in Washington D.C.

An unidentified Senior White House official announced the visit, which will happen on Tuesday.

“President Trump is expected to travel to Alamo, Texas, on Tuesday to mark the completion of more than 400 miles of border wall — a promise made, promise kept — and his Administration’s efforts to reform our broken immigration system,” the White House official told Fox News.

Building a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border was a mainstay topic during the 2016 presidential election as then candidate Trump traveled the country. “Build the wall!” was a common chant among Trump’s supporters at his rallies.

The idea behind building a border wall was to protect the roughly 1000 miles that does not have any natural barriers. Trump had promised to have 450 miles completed by the end of 2020.

Congress recently passed an omnibus spending bill that included $16 billion in funding.

However Acting Customs and Border Patrol Commissioner Mark Morgan said that the $1.375 billion included in that package was enough to complete at least 800 miles of border wall.

In addition to the completed 450 miles, there is another 350 miles ready with funding to go in the ground. The contracts for those parts of the wall have already been awarded.

Biden May Halt Border Construction

Construction on the wall could halt within the next few weeks, however.

According to an article in the Dallas Morning News, Biden has stated that, while he would not tear down any existing wall, but he would cease construction of any future stretches of wall.

Biden says he favors a, “high-tech virtual wall to ensure border security.”

In an article in the Washington Post, the Post claims it has reviewed estimates by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and that if Biden were to discontinue construction, it would save the U.S. government $2.6 million.

However, If Biden were to halt construction, that could leave the the U.S. government, and in turn, taxpayers on the hook for billions of dollars in settlement fees should those contracts be abandoned

CBP Commissioner Morgan also went on to say that, not only would walking away rom the project cost taxpayers in funds, it would also cost “thousands of jobs.”

Pelosi Urges Military To Block ‘Unhinged’ President Trump From Nuclear Codes

As attempts to portray Donald Trump as mentally unhealthy and unstable increase, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi on Friday called on Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Gen. Mark Milley to prevent the President Trump from having access to the nuclear codes.

Pelosi called the president “unhinged” and “dangerous.”

Since the rally-turned-riot on Wednesday in Washington D.C., Democrats have blamed President Trump for inciting the violence.

Attempting To Remove Trump From Office

In a statement, Pelosi explained her extraordinary move.

“This morning, I spoke to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Mark Milley to discuss available precautions for preventing an unstable president from initiating military hostilities or accessing the launch codes and ordering a nuclear strike,” Pelosi (D-Calif.) wrote.

“The situation of this unhinged President could not be more dangerous, and we must do everything that we can to protect the American people from his unbalanced assault on our country and our democracy,” she wrote.

Pelosi’s concern for President Trump “initiating military hostilities” come less than two weeks after Congress voted to block President Trump from withdrawing troops from the 20-year War in Afghanistan.

With just twelve days left in Donald Trump’s presidency, Democrats have called on Vice President Mike Pence and the rest of the Cabinet to remove Trump from office via the 25th Amendment.

Failing that, they have threatened a second impeachment.

Since Wednesday, the CEO’s of several of the most prominent social media sites, including Facebook and Twitter, have suspended President Trump’s accounts.

Facebook has suspended Trump’s account until Joe Biden is sworn in as president. Twitter is also considering a permanent ban.

Those Who Are Piling On

While she has not overtly called for President Trump’s removal or resignation, former First Lady Michelle Obama also called for Trump to be banned from social media.

Obama called Trump supporters who were at the rally “a gang,” and said that, “the riots were a fulfillment of the wishes of an infantile and unpatriotic president who can’t handle the truth of his own failures.”

On Thursday, the Editorial Board of the Wall Street Journal also called for President Trump to resign.

In their statement, they claimed that Trump “incited a crowd to march on the Legislative Branch,” and say, “it crosses a constitutional line that Mr. Trump hasn’t previously crossed. It is impeachable.”

Several Cabinet members have resigned in the wake of Wednesday’s events at the Capitol.

Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao and more recently Education Secretary Betsy DeVos have resigned.

Which One Is More Likely To Happen?

Democrats have said that if Mike Pence does not act, they will immediately begin the impeachment process.

In order to invoke the 25th Amendment Vice President Mike Pence would have to have a majority of the Cabinet in agreement with him. The President can dispute this with a letter to Congress.

Congress would vote, and it would take a two-thirds supermajority, 67 Senators and 290 House members, to remove him from power.

Congress can also appoint its own body to review the President’s fitness.

Any impeachment process would have to go through a still-Republican Senate.

According to a report in Politico, two articles of impeachment have already been drafted, but Senate Republicans are not willing to go through another impeachment.

South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham said, “a last-minute attempt to impeach Trump would backfire.”

Former Trump AG Bill Barr Condemns Trump, Cabinet Member Resigns Over Capitol Protest

Former Attorney General William Barr, Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao, and others associated with the Trump administration have condemned the President and resigned over the events that took place yesterday at the Capitol.

Barr, who had disagreed with Trump over the scope of election fraud, called the statements and actions of Trump a “betrayal of his office and supporters.”

Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao resigned on Thursday on the heels of the rally, saying that the actions of Trump supporters had “deeply troubled her.”

Barr had been viewed as a fierce loyalist of Trump until he disagreed with the president on the existence of voter fraud.

Other Trump administration officials to tender resignations include Stephanie Grisham, First Lady Melania Trump’s Chief of Staff and Mick Mulvaney, a former acting Chief of Staff and now U.S. special envoy to Northern Ireland.

Barr And Chao Condemn Violence

Barr and Chao both strongly condemned the actions of Trump supporters who stormed the Capitol building on Wednesday, breaching security, and causing damage.

The gathering had been billed as a rally, a gathering for Trump supporters to voice their outrage at what many of them felt was a stolen 2020 presidential election

The Senate had begun the proceedings yesterday to officially certify the 2020 presidential election, with former Vice President Joe Biden as the victor, when the entire building was evacuated because protesters had breached security and were entering the senate chamber

In announcing her resignation, Chao stated, “Yesterday, our country experienced a traumatic and entirely avoidable event as supporters of the President stormed the Capitol building following a rally he addressed.”

According to CNBC, Barr stated that “Trump was responsible for orchestrating a mob to pressure Congress.” He called the president’s actions, “inexcusable.”

In another report from Politico, Barr called the outbreak of violence, “outrageous and despicable,” and that “Federal agencies should move immediately to disperse it.”

25th Amendment?

In light of yesterday’s violence, and the condemnation of it not only by Barr and Chao, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi has called for the invoking of the 25th Amendment.

She stated earlier today that if the Vice President and the Cabinet did not do so, that Congress would consider a second impeachment.

Several members of Congress, including Republicans, have also joined in for the call for the immediate removal of the president from office.

Illinois Representative Adam Kinzinger stated that Trump was, “unmoored, not just from his duty, or even his oath, but from reality itself.”

He urged Vice president Mike Pence and the remaining Cabinet to “end this nightmare.”

MSNBC’s Joy Reid Claims Capitol Police Went Easy On ‘White’ Protesters, Ignores Killed Woman

While the entire nation is still reeling from the events on Capitol Hill on January 6, 2021, MSNBC’s Joy Reid has claimed that Capitol Police wouldn’t have gone as easy on black protesters.

What started out as a peaceful protest by patriots concerned for the future of their nation, suddenly turned violent by the afternoon.

The Capitol building itself was breached by those who came to do nothing but to stir up trouble and commit violent acts. With any luck, those culprits will be brought to justice.

But it got worse than that. People lost their lives.

We can wax poetic about how they gave their lives for their nation doing what is every American citizen’s right to do, protest.

But we are learning that, even at times like this, it all depends on who you are when it comes to whether or not people will be outraged, or even hear about it.

The Mainstream Media Doing What It Does Best

On Wednesday, as the chaos erupted in Washington D.C., the mainstream media, particularly MSNBC, and even more particularly, Joy Reid, did what they, and she, do best: make everything a race issue.

As Capitol Police clashed with protesters, Joy made the observation that perhaps the police were giving the protesters a free pass.

Why….wait for it….because they are white. Yep, you guessed it, the protesters were unafraid of the police because the police feel like the protesters are just like them….or something.

Reid said, “White Americans are never afraid of the cops, even when they’re committing insurrection.”

Joy continued on about how protesters broke in “because they think they own it”.

Racist Cops?

Here is where things get a little sticky for Joy. As everyone now knows, things went from bad to worse by Wednesday afternoon.

As protesters made their way into the Capital building, Ashli Babbit of San Diego, and a 14-year veteran of the Air Force, was shot and killed by Capitol Police.

This is a terrible tragedy that should not have happened. But let’s look at what we know. Ashli Babbit had come from across the country to gather with her fellow Americans, to support President Donald Trump.

The fact is that she was unarmed, and she was shot by police. Why?

Will there be looting and violence on the streets, and people demanding “justice for Ashli”? No, there will not. Can Joy explain why that is?

Why are we not going to hear Joy go on and on…and on about the injustice of it all? Do the differences really need to be pointed out?

Not only is Ashli Babbit a conservative, even worse, she was apparently Trump supporter. Does her skin color factor in? It is the elephant in the room no one will mention. Can Joy pinpoint which of these things causes her life not to matter?

Joy Reid and the rest of the mainstream media goons gleefully reported on every city that burned over the summer and told us all it was because of racist cops. But that will not happen this time.

Ashli Babbit’s family will bury her, and unfortunately, because cops are human and have seconds to make a decision, more unarmed people will be shot. It’s just a fact.

But we now know there are criteria for that story being heard.

Hypocrisy at it’s finest.
