GOP Rep: Stefanik Too Liberal To Replace Cheney, Urges GOP To Choose A Conservative

With the vote to oust Congresswoman Liz Cheney from House Republican leadership looming, one conservative House Freedom Caucus member circulated a memo to every GOP office claiming that her presumed successor, Congresswoman Elise Stefanik isn’t much different from a Democrat.

On Tuesday, Congressman Chip Roy sent a memo asking the House Republican conference to reconsider Stefanik, citing her voting record, and encouraging Republicans to choose someone more conservative.

Republican Roy Rejects Stefanik: ‘Choose Someone Who Reflects Our Conservative Values’

In his memo, Roy argues that Stefanik voted against Trump’s agenda often, siding with Democrats.

Roy asked House Republicans to instead, “choose someone who reflects our conservative values.”

“We must avoid putting in charge Republicans who campaign as Republicans but then vote for and advance the Democrats’ agenda once sworn in,” Roy wrote to his fellow GOP members.

“Therefore, with all due respect to my friend, Elise Stefanik, let us contemplate the message Republican leadership is about to send by rushing to coronate a spokesperson whose voting record embodies much of what led to the 2018 ass-kicking we received by Democrats,” Roy added.

Other Conservatives Not Happy With Stefanik Succeeding Cheney

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy announced on Monday that the secret ballot vote to oust Cheney from her leadership position will happen on Wednesday.

Cheney has drawn heat from Republicans for not only voting to impeach former President Donald Trump on the second impeachment vote, but for continuing to attack him in op-eds and during interviews.

McCarthy and other leaders believe Cheney has become too much of a distraction away from what the party should focused on: Winning more House seats for Republicans in 2022.

Roy is not the only conservative to complain about Stefanik’s lack of a conservative voting record.

The conservative Club for Growth said, “Elise Stefanik is NOT a good spokesperson for the House Republican Conference.”

“She is a liberal with a 35% CFGF lifetime rating, 4th worst in the House GOP. House Republicans should find a conservative to lead messaging and win back the House Majority.”

Stefanik Has The Backing Of Republican Leadership And Trump

Roy’s memo to House Republicans highlighted several problematic Stefanik votes for conservatives, including her opposition to a border wall.

“The forgotten men and women of this country simply want us to stand up for them,” Roy wrote. “Please tell me how we are sending a message today that we are standing up for them with a leadership-tapped colleague with that record as our spokesperson?”

Roy said that if the GOP strays from Trump’s America First Agenda it could hurt the party at the ballot box.

Trump and McCarthy, along with GOP Minority Whip Steve Scalise have all endorsed Stefanik.

Meghan McCain Calls Trump ‘Cheeto Jesus’ And Defends Liz Cheney

Meghan McCain blasted Republicans for “shivving” Representative Liz Cheney because she supposedly won’t “debase herself to Cheeto Jesus.”

McCain delivered the diatribe during a Wednesday broadcast.

“Let’s cut the crap,” she said. “They’re shivving her for her … saying that the election wasn’t stolen and for refusing to debase herself to Cheeto Jesus.”

She accused House Minority Kevin McCarthy of intentionally saying “I’ve had it with her” on a hot mic during an off-camera moment on Fox & Friends.

Recent reports have indicated that Cheney (WY), the number three Republican in the House, could be ousted from her leadership role before the end of the month.

Meghan McCain’s ‘Cheeto Jesus’ Insult Wasn’t the Worst Thing She Said

Some of the latest reports indicate Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY) may be the woman who replaces Cheney.

Stefanik has the support of Trump himself, along with Minority Whip Steve Scalise.

Rather than prop Stefanik up on her leadership credentials, McCain practically accused the GOP of using her on behalf of Trump.

“I feel very defensive of Liz Cheney,” a clearly shaken McCain said. “I promise you there’s going to be consequences.”

“Go ahead in this sausagefest of MAGA up on Capitol Hill!” she continued. “Pull her out and put another woman in who will do anything you want for President Trump.”

McCain then mocked Trump supporters: “The election wasn’t stolen … He’s Jesus.”

The View’s Token Conservative Had A Liberal-esque Meltdown

McCain seems unable to comprehend that “Cheeto Jesus” insults are just as reprehensible as anything Trump has ever mean-tweeted.

Not to mention the inability to understand that Cheney’s tenuous hold on her leadership role is less about Trump and more about her inability to move on and put the party first.

Remember, it’s the same, as McCain says, “sausagefest of MAGA on Capitol Hill” that supported Cheney despite her impeachment vote back in February. They voted to keep her in the role of leadership, 145-61.

Since then, Cheney has refused to stop talking down to Trump supporters, accusing them of believing “the big lie” that the 2020 presidential election was stolen, has gone after colleagues in her own party who support Trump, and vowed to campaign on impeaching Trump “every day of the week.”

Cheney fist bumps President Biden and seems unable to focus on defeating an administration that supports government funding of abortions, will be taxing the hell out of the American people, and has created a humanitarian crisis at the border.

Meghan McCain’s mom, meanwhile, works for that same administration.

And for some reason they think they can tell you that denouncing Trump – a man who fought to push conservative values as President – is the only way to show you’re a true Republican.

If being a Republican means siding with the Cheneys and McCains of the world, then it’s time for a new party.

Trump And GOP Leadership Endorse Replacement For Liz Cheney

Anti-Trump Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) could face a vote on whether or not she will lose her leadership role in the House as GOP Conference Chair as early as next week.

It’s becoming clear that Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY) will be the primary challenger to Cheney for the Conference Chair position.

Stefanik has been calling House GOP members in order to drum up support, and she’s gotten support from the biggest name around.

On Wednesday, Trump officially endorsed Stefanik to replace Cheney as the GOP Conference Chair.

Cheney’s Clash With Republicans

Liz Cheney has been at odds with many of her fellow Republicans since she voted to impeach Trump after the Jan. 6 Capitol riot.

Cheney promptly blamed Trump for the violence, and has stated on a number of occasions that the GOP needs to distance themselves from Trump after Trump continued to claim that the 2020 presidential election was fraudulent.

In February, Cheney avoided being removed as Conference Chair position, but was censured by several Republican committees in Wyoming.

She has continued to be outspoken about her opposition to Trump having any sway in the Republican Party.

The dust ups between Cheney and House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy also began in February.

When asked at a news conference about whether Trump should speak at the annual CPAC conference that was being held the following weekend, McCarthy said, “Yes, he should.”

When the question was posed to Cheney, she stated, “That’s up to CPAC. I’ve been clear on my views about President Trump. I don’t believe that he should be playing a role in the future of the party or the country.”

Cheney’s Views On Trump Could Pave The Way For Stefanik

Liz Cheney’s steadfast opinion that the GOP should have nothing to do with Trump could pave the way for the new school of Republicans.

But as GOP leaders attempt to unite the party in advance of the 2022 midterms, many are describing Cheney and her comments about Trump to be a “liability.”

House Leader McCarthy was caught on a hot mic Tuesday making the comment that, “I think she’s got real problems. I’ve had it with … I’ve had it with her. You know, I’ve lost confidence.”

House Minority Whip Steve Scalise (R-LA) is also supporting replacing Cheney with Stefanik. A spokesperson for Scalise stated:

“House Republicans need to be solely focused on taking back the House in 2022 and fighting against Speaker Pelosi and President Biden’s radical socialist agenda, and Elise Stefanik is strongly committed to doing that, which is why Whip Scalise has pledged to support her for Conference Chair.”

Stefanik is a fourth term Congresswoman, representing upstate New York’s 21st district.

Cheney Getting Support… From Nancy Pelosi

Not everyone is on board with Liz Cheney’s removal from the Conference Chair position.

Utah Senator Mitt Romney came out in support of Cheney on Monday. Romney lauded Cheney as “a person of conscience,” and that “she refuses to lie,” referring to the Capitol riot.

Romney continued, “As one of my Republican Senate colleagues said to me following my impeachment vote: ‘I wouldn’t want to be a member of a group that punished someone for following their conscience.”

But Romney may not be the support Cheney could use. Romney was roundly booed at the Utah GOP convention over the weekend. The convention was attended by more than 2,000 Republican delegates.

Cheney also received strong support from House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

While calling her by the wrong name, Pelosi commended Cheney’s “courage” and “patriotism.”

The Republican Party needs to decide one way or the other if Donald Trump has a future with the party. They will find out in 2022 if they made the right decision.

GOP Rep. Stefanik Demands Cuomo Resign For Harassing Women And ‘Criminal’ Cover-Up

Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY) spoke out on Monday to blast Andrew Cuomo as the “worst governor in America” as calls continue to grow for him to step down.

Earlier on Monday, Republicans in the New York State Assembly launched an impeachment resolution against Cuomo, saying that he has lost “credibility and trust” and has an “inability to lead” the state after multiple aides accused him of sexual misconduct and his handling of the COVID-19 pandemic was called into question.

Stefanik Attacks Cuomo

In an interview with Fox News, Stefanik stood by dubbing him the “worst governor in America.”

“Well, he has earned that title,” she said. “Governor Cuomo has been enveloped by multiple scandals. First, you have the nursing home scandal and the cover-up, which I believe is a criminal. It’s a crime, a federal crime and an obstruction of justice.”

“You have his most senior aide admit to withholding information from the Department of Justice when they requested information on the numbers of deaths,” Stefanik continued. “And we now know that it’s over 15,000 vulnerable seniors who died because of Governor Cuomo’s nursing home edict forcing positive covid patients into nursing homes.”

Stefanik Doubles Down

“You also have these sexual harassment scandals, not one, not two, but five women have come forward and have shared their personal, horrific experiences of sexual abuse, sexual harassment and sexual grooming,” Stefanik added.

“It’s not just Republicans who are speaking out for his resignation,” she said.  “It’s Democrats as well. And if they really want to take action on behalf of everyday New Yorkers, they need to join Republicans to start impeachment proceedings.”

Not stopping there, Stefanik pointed out that she has been pushing for Cuomo to be investigated for months.

“The Democrats had to really be pushed to call for an investigation,” Stefanik said. “I was the first member of Congress, the first senior elected official to call for an investigation on December 14th when the first victim, Ms. Boylan, came forward. We now know there are multiple accounts. And what’s really interesting is they’re all very similar.

Stefanik Accuses Cuomo Of ‘Preying’ On Women

“This is about the governor preying on vulnerable, much less powerful individuals, oftentimes very young, in their 20s, alone in his office on state government property,” she continued.

“We should take these women’s personal experiences very seriously and I call for his resignation,” Stefanik concluded. “If you look at the governor’s own statement. He has called for fellow elected officials for much less to immediately resign. He’s not following his own words.”

At the time of this writing, Cuomo has still refused to step down, despite bipartisan calls for him to do so.

GOP Rep. Calls For Cuomo To Be Prosecuted For Withholding Alleged COVID Nursing Home Deaths

Rep. Elise Stephanik (R-NY), along with other Republicans have called for the prosecution of New York Governor Andrew Cuomo as well as anyone on his staff who may have been involved in knowingly withholding coronavirus death tolls in nursing homes.

This comes after a report came out in which an aide of Cuomo’s admitted that they had done just that.

Full Story: Andrew Cuomo Aide: To Avoid Federal Investigation, New York Hid COVID-19 Nursing Home Deaths

Stephanik tweeted out a statement that said, “Governor Cuomo, the secretary to the Governor, and his senior team must be prosecuted immediately-both by the Attorney General of New York state, and the U.S. Department of Justice.”

“This bombshell admission of a cover-up and the remarks by the secretary to the Governor indicating intent to obstruct any federal investigation is a stunning and criminal abuse of power,” she added.

A Stunning Admission

The horrific admission came from Cuomo’s Secretary Melissa DeRosa while on a video conference call with New York state Democrat leaders. In a report from the New York Post, DeRosa claimed that the Cuomo administration had rejected a request from the New York State Senate back in August for a complete tally of COVID deaths.

DeRosa went on to say that former President Trump had turned the New York state numbers “into a giant political football.” During the meeting, DeRosa said of Trump that, “He starts tweeting that we killed everyone in nursing homes.

“He starts going after [New Jersey Gov. Phil] Murphy, starts going after [California Gov. Gavin] Newsom, starts going after [Michigan Gov.] Gretchen Whitmer,” and that “Trump directs the Department of Justice to do an investigation into us. And basically we froze.”

Multiple Calls For Investigation/Prosecution

In addition to Congresswoman Stephanik’s call for investigation and possible prosecution of Cuomo, other state and national Republican office holders have come out in support of holding Cuomo and his staff to account for possible obstruction of an investigation.

New York State Senate Minority Leader Robert Ortt demanded a “top to bottom investigation.

Chairman of the New York State Republican Committee Nick Langworthy called for the impeachment of Cuomo, and state Assembly Minority Leader William Barclay called for subpoenas and subsequent hearings.

Even some Democrats were outraged enough to speak out. Democrat Assembly Woman Yuh-Line Niou called the Cuomo administration’s actions “criminal.”

The Numbers And Those Effected

Bill Hammond, Senior Fellow for Health Policy at the Empire Center, sent out a tweet in September 2020 that stated that the CDC “unfortunately made it optional for nursing homes to report COVID deaths in March, April, and early May of 2020. this was when NY’s pandemic was at it’s worst.”

He went on to say that “some homes did the right thing, and often gave numbers strikingly higher than reported by NYS DOH.”  In September on the Empire Center website, he said that:

“The result is that a major public health disaster affecting New York’s nursing home residents is not being accurately documented by either of the agencies responsible for protecting them-because state officials are refusing to share the true numbers, and federal officials haven’t yet asked for them.”

One of the most outspoken critics of the Cuomo administration’s COVID nursing home policies is Fox News Channel Meteorologist Janice Dean, who lost both of her in-laws to Governor Cuomo’s nursing homes.

On Thursday, Dean said that,”I would like to thank whoever that Democratic lawmaker that was the leak yesterday that gave us that information because i believe all of them should go to jail.”

“We need to see these people on the stand, with a jury, with us, the people that lost our loved ones, in the audience to see them tell the whole truth and nothing but the truth,” she added.

“Justice needs to be served,” Dean continued. “We don’t have our loved ones here today, but by God, I am here to be a voice for all of them.”

Republican Elise Stefanik Wants ‘Independent Investigation’ Into Cuomo’s Nursing Home Policies

Republican New York Representative Elise Stefanik is calling for an “independent investigation” into Democratic New York Governor Andrew Cuomo’s nursing home policies.

Stefanik Think Gov. Cuomo’s Bad Policy Led to More Deaths and Flawed Data

Stefanik said Tuesday that an investigation is necessary after reports suggested that her state was undercounting the number of COVID-19-related deaths in assisted living facilities.

New York leads the country in nursing home deaths, with over 5,000 reported.

RELATED: Federal Intel Boss Confirms Investigation Is Underway Into Whether COVID-19 Outbreak Was ‘Result Of An Accident’ In Wuhan, China Lab

Stefanik told Fox News’ “Fox & Friends“ on Tuesday, “New York has mismanaged how we have approached and how we’ve protected our seniors in our nursing homes. We knew, going into this, that our most vulnerable are our seniors and particularly in those assisted living facilities, whether they’re senior living facilities or nursing homes.”

Cuomo originally required nursing homes to admit COVID-19 patients, but the governor reversed that policy in early May.

“New York, when compared to other states, took a number of negative actions that cost over 5,000 lives,” Stefanik said. “They also didn’t fully tell the public how many seniors’ deaths there were coming from nursing homes. So that reporting data, they didn’t count the hospital deaths when there was a positive case that was transmitted because of the senior nursing home.”

Stefanik: ‘It’s not just Republicans who are calling for this independent investigation. It’s Democrats as well’

Stefanik also said that she does not believe a fair investigation will happen if directed by current Democratic New York Attorney General Letitia James.

“I’ve heard from families who are still grieving for loss of their loved ones and they deserve answers,” Stefanik said. “And it’s not just Republicans who are calling for this independent investigation. It’s Democrats as well.”

“It cannot be conducted by New York’s attorney general either,” she added. “It needs to be an independent investigation.”

“I’m calling for the Department of HHS to conduct this independent investigation, but I think it needs to come from the federal government,” Stefanik finished.

GOP Rep. Elise Stefanik Suffers ‘Vicious, Vile, Sick Attack’ In Grocery Store

Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-N.Y.), who made a name for herself during the House impeachment trial by staunchly defending President Donald Trump, was just viciously harassed and attacked while shopping at a grocery store.

Stefanik, who represents New York’s 21st district, took to Twitter to post a photo of a hateful note that was left on her windshield by a liberal who had recognized her.

“Rot in hell FASCIST PIG,” the note read.

“My husband and I went grocery shopping this morning before district events and enjoyed chatting with constituents throughout the store,” Stefanik wrote. “This vile anonymous note was left on our car.”

MORE NEWS: Hillary Clinton pushes false story that Trump called coronavirus a ‘hoax’

Republicans have long been warning Democrats that encouraging their followers to target GOP officials in public is a very bad idea. Maxine Waters (D-CA) infamously told her supporters in July of 2018 to confront Trump supporters whenever they see them in public.

“Let’s make sure we show up wherever we have to show up,” Waters said, according to The Blaze. “And if you see anybody from that Cabinet in a restaurant, in a department store, at a gasoline station, you get out and you create a crowd. And you push back on them. And you tell them they’re not welcome anymore, anywhere. We’ve got to get the children connected to their parents.”

Stefanik has asked Tedra Cobb, her Democratic opponent, to condemn the attack against her.

“As an elected official, I understand that respectful & passionate policy disagreements are foundational to our democracy. But this note is just sad hatred,” Stefanik said. “We are praying for the author. This hateful rhetoric should be publicly condemned by my opponent immediately.”

Cobb, however, refused to condemn the attack, only describing the note as “damaging and wrong.”

“I think it’s time you joined me in pledging not to name call in this campaign. I’d love to work with you to set a better example for #NY21,” Cobb said.

Stefanik responded by pointing out that Cobb didn’t condemn the attack.

“One is a policy difference (you have voted numerous times to raise taxes) the other is a vicious, vile, sick attack,” she said. “They are not the same and voters know it.”

Democrats and the mainstream media have vilified conservatives to the point where crazed liberals think it is acceptable to attack them in any way they see fit. Attacks such as this one are only escalating, and if Democrats don’t start condemning them soon, something really bad is likely going to happen to a Republican.

Please keep all Republican lawmakers in your thoughts and prayers.
