Former AG Bill Barr Wants Republicans To ‘Move On’ From Trump, Blames Him For Capitol Riot

Attorney General William “Bill” Barr appears to have broken totally with his former boss, if reports about his upcoming memoir are accurate.

In the book, Barr reportedly claims President Trump “lost his grip” and was exhibiting erratic behavior in the final days of his first term, blaming him for the January 6 riot at the Capitol.

Barr made the comments, according to a Wall Street Journal review, in his upcoming book “One Damn Thing After Another.”

“The election was not ‘stolen,’ Trump lost it,” he writes, urging the Republican party to move on from the former President and his “erratic personal behavior” in 2024.

The book is set to be released on March 8th.

The publisher promises a “candid account” of Barr’s two stints as attorney general – under Trump and once under President George H.W. Bush – and will demonstrate “how both men viewed power and justice at critical junctures of their presidencies.”

Barr Says Riot Was Trump’s Fault

Delving further into his book, Barr echoes sentiments expressed by other ‘Never Trumpers’ such as Representatives Liz Cheney (R-WY) and Adam Kinzinger (R-IL), implying that the Capitol riot in 2021 was Trump’s fault.

Barr suggests Trump lost his grip on reality after losing to Joe Biden in the election.

“The absurd lengths to which he took his ‘stolen election’ claim led to the rioting on Capitol Hill,” he claimed.

An odd statement considering anybody who watched Hillary Clinton’s reaction after losing to Trump in 2016 knows that ‘stolen election’ claims, inaccurate or otherwise, have been around for quite some time.

Barr has reportedly spoken to the House select committee investigating the January 6 riot according to chairman Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-MS).

“We’ve had conversations with the former attorney general already,” Thompson revealed in an interview last month.

Democrats Wanted Barr Impeached

Barr accused Trump’s inner circle of feeding him misinformation about the election.

“He stopped listening to his advisers, became manic and unreasonable, and was off the rails,” Barr reportedly writes.

“He surrounded himself with sycophants, including many whack jobs from outside the government, who fed him a steady diet of comforting but unsupported conspiracy theories.”

Barr, you may recall, was the subject of his own impeachment calls by Democrats for his alleged role in clearing out rioters in the summer of 2020.

In a formal impeachment resolution, House Democrat Steve Cohen (TN) accused him of having “undermined the rule of law, abused his power, obstructed justice [and] violated the first amendment.”

Cohen took exception to the former attorney general’s alleged role in a decision to remove rioters from Lafayette Square during a protest last in June of 2020.

The resolution to investigate and consider the impeachment of Barr had 35 Democrat co-sponsors.

Barr was accused of helping clear out protesters at Lafayette Park so Trump could get a Bible photo-op.

An Interior Department report published this past June shows police never cleared the protesters for that reason, as was often reported by the mainstream media.

The report by the department’s Inspector General indicates federal police officers cleared the park instead so a contractor could install fencing.

“That finding … is likely to surprise many critics of Trump, who have long asserted that the president or his attorney general ordered the operation to pave the way for an act of political theater,” NBC News reported.

False narratives have ensnared Barr himself in the past. You’d think he’d have a bit of self-awareness.

“Donald Trump has shown he has neither the temperament nor persuasive powers to provide the kind of positive leadership that is needed,” Barr also wrote in his memoir.

Mitch McConnell At Odds With Trump: Opposes Pardons For January 6 Rioters

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell opposes Donald Trump’s pledge to possibly pardon some individuals who have been arrested for the January 6 riot at the Capitol, saying he’s not in favor of shortening any sentences for those who pled guilty.

McConnell (R-KY) made the comments after being prompted by a reporter who inquired about Trump’s statement.

“One hundred and sixty-five people have pleaded guilty to criminal behavior,” he said. “None of the trials have been finished yet, but 165 have pleaded guilty to criminal behavior.”

“My view is, I would not be in favor of shortening any of the sentences for any of the people who pleaded guilty to crimes,” added McConnell.

McConnell Objects

Former President Donald Trump said that he would consider pardons for January 6 rioters should he run for and win the presidential election in 2024.

“If I run, and if I win, we will treat those people from January 6 fairly. We will treat them fairly,” he vowed. “If that requires pardons, we will give them pardons, because they are being treated so unfairly.”

Senator Lindsey Graham, like McConnell, almost immediately objected to the idea of issuing pardons for the Capitol rioters.

“No, I don’t want to send any signal that it was OK to defile the Capitol,” Graham said. “I think it’s inappropriate … I don’t want to do anything that would make this more likely in the future.”

Peaceful Transition Of Power

McConnell also stated that those involved in the January 6 riot should not be pardoned because they interfered in the election process.

The 2020 election was “decided on December 14 of 2020 when the Electoral College certified the winner of the election,” he said.

McConnell added that the Capitol rioters had engaged in “an effort to prevent the peaceful transfer of power from one administration to another” something that had “never happened before in our country.”

McConnell, following the Capitol riot, joined Democrats in calls for impeachment according to a Fox News report at the time, telling associates that the move “will help rid the Republican Party of Trump and his movement.”

Trump ravaged the GOP leader in response, issuing a statement saying McConnell is “a dour, sullen and unsmiling political hack.”

In July, Representative Lauren Boebert (R-CO) and ten House Republicans sent a letter to Attorney General Merrick Garland demanding to know why protesters at the Capitol had been arrested and jailed while many BLM protesters were not for their role in the race riots across America.

The letter asked Garland to explain an “inconsistent application of the law with respect to rioters across the country.”

Report: George W. Bush Donating To Republicans Who Voted To Impeach Trump

George W. Bush made donations to two Republican congresswomen who voted to impeach Donald Trump over the January 6 riot at the Capitol.

The revelation comes via Politico, which reports that maximum allowable amounts were donated by Bush to Representative Liz Cheney (R-WY) and Senator Lisa Murkowski’s (R-AK) re-election campaigns late last year.

The outlet reports that while Bush has donated in the past to numerous Republican candidates, the $5,800 to Cheney and $2,900 to Murkowski appear to be his “first donations of 2021” and “are significant in their symbolism.”

Cheney and Murkowski are both facing primary challengers endorsed by former President Trump after they voted in favor of a second impeachment for his alleged role in inciting the Capitol riot.

RELATED: George W. Bush To Headline Fundraiser For NeverTrumper Liz Cheney

Bush Vs. Trump

Liz Cheney is the daughter of Bush’s vice president, Dick Cheney, and as such, it may not come as much of a surprise that the former President donated to her campaign.

That said, FEC records show his contribution to Murkowski, long considered a more liberal Republican, marks the first of its kind.

Trump endorsed Republican Kelly Tshibaka in the Alaska Republican primary against Murkowski, but also curiously lent support to Harriet Hageman, the Wyoming attorney running against Cheney.

Hageman tried to stop Trump from getting the Republican nomination in 2016, and called him “racist and xenophobic.”

Headlines Cheney Fundraiser

Bush appeared at a fundraiser for Liz Cheney back in October, despite her only current platform being constant opposition and criticism of Donald Trump.

Along with the former President, attendees reportedly included former Bush advisors Karl Rove and Karen Hughes, and also former U.S. ambassador to NATO and Texas Senator, Kay Bailey Hutchison.

Trump ripped Bush and Rove in a statement upon learning of the fundraiser.

“RINO former President George ‘Dubya’ Bush and his flunky Karl Rove are endorsing warmongering and very low polling, Liz Cheney,” the statement read.

Trump went on to say Bush’s ‘stupid’ actions in the Middle East resulted in decades-long wars with no clear objective and astronomical costs.

“Bush is the one who got us into the quicksand of the Middle East and, after spending trillions of dollars and killing nearly a million people, the Middle East was left in worse shape after 21 years than it was when he started his stupidity,” he said.

His foreign policy blunders culminated in a disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan under the purview of President Biden in August.

Cheney has been a source of irritation for conservatives and supporters of Trump, preening for Democrats as a savior of the republic following the Capitol riot on January 6th.

“President Bush is impressed by Liz Cheney’s strength and vision, and he’s proud to support her,” a spokesman for Bush told CNBC in September.

The former President has also echoed Cheney in expressing outrage over the January 6th riot.

“It did make me sick. I felt ill. And I just couldn’t believe it,” Bush said. “What’s really troubling is how much misinformation there is and the capacity of people to spread all kinds of untruth.”

He even seemed to equate Trump supporters at the Capitol to Islamic extremists who carried out 9/11 – on the 20th anniversary of the attacks that took place when he was President.

“There is little cultural overlap between violent extremists abroad and violent extremists at home,” Bush said.

“But in their disdain for pluralism, in their disregard for human life, in their determination to defile national symbols, they are children of the same foul spirit.”

Bush, aside from supporting Never Trump Republicans, has said he would like to see a presidential candidate for the GOP in 2024 with pro-gun control and pro-amnesty views.

“Bush remained hopeful that a more moderate Republican — one who supported reasonable gun reform measures, increased public school funding and a path to citizenship for undocumented workers … could succeed in the party’s 2024 presidential primary,” Politico reported.

Liz Cheney Releases ‘Stunning’ Text Messages During January 6 Riot, It Appears To Have Backfired

Representative Liz Cheney released text messages provided by former White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows showing several people close to Donald Trump during the Capitol riot on January 6, 2021, urging the then-President to issue a statement condemning the protesters.

The texts have been alternately referred to by The Hill as “stunning,” the Daily Beast as a “bombshell,” and Twitter as “damning.”

They are none of these.

The panel, upon which Cheney serves as token Republican and Vice-Chair, has been trying to create a narrative that the January 6 riot was an “insurrection” and planned by Trump and those in his inner circle beforehand.

The text messages, however, paint a different picture – one of Fox News personalities, Trump’s own son, and his Chief of Staff being caught off guard by events that day and strongly advising the former President to try to stop it.

Which he attempted to do.

RELATED: Former Trump Chief Of Staff Mark Meadows Sues January 6 Committee, Nancy Pelosi

Liz Cheney’s ‘Bombshell’ Text Messages

Liz Cheney read the text messages aloud during a hearing of the United States House Select Committee on the January 6 riot.

The panel voted to recommend a full House vote on whether or not to hold Meadows in contempt of Congress and refer him for prosecution to the Department of Justice for not cooperating with their investigation.

Meadows initially cooperated with the anti-Trump panel but reversed course with the committee due in part to subpoenas over private phone records from Verizon.

He subsequently announced a lawsuit against the panel and Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

The text messages read by Cheney show Meadows and Trump Jr. were caught off guard by the events of January 6 – which defeats their entire theory; that is, that it was pre-planned.

“He’s got to condemn this shit ASAP,” Trump Jr. texted.

Meadows replied, “I’m pushing it hard. I agree.”

“We need an Oval Office address. He has to lead now. It has gone too far and gotten out of hand,” Trump Jr. added.

President Trump did, in fact, deliver a statement, though he was criticized for creating an air of sympathy for the protesters and for taking a long time to tell them to go home, something he requested they do peacefully.

RELATED: Top Pence Aide Marc Short Cooperating With January 6 Committee

Did Cheney’s Stunt Backfire?

The text messages read by Liz Cheney also show Fox News anchor Sean Hannity urging President Trump to issue a statement.

“Can he make a statement? Ask people to leave the Capitol,” Hannity wrote.

Other Fox News personalities joined in.

“Mark, president needs to tell people in the Capitol to go home. This is hurting all of us. He is destroying his legacy,” texted host Laura Ingraham.

“Please get him on TV. Destroying everything you have accomplished,” added Brian Kilmeade.

But the text messages indicate both Trump’s Chief of Staff and his own son weren’t initially expecting the mostly peaceful protest to turn into a breach of the Capitol. Instead, they reacted as they saw events unfold.

“Please support our Capitol Police and Law Enforcement,” the President would tweet at 2:38 p.m.

“The Capitol Police tweet is not enough,” Trump Jr. would say to Meadows.

Trump seemed to concur tweeting, “I am asking for everyone at the U.S. Capitol to remain peaceful” at 3:13 p.m.

Roughly an hour later he released a video urging people to go home.

Ironically, for those who claimed Trump didn’t “do enough,” he was suspended from Twitter shortly after his video imploring people to go home.

A few days later, he was permanently banned merely for stating he would not attend Biden’s inauguration.

Everything Liz Cheney and the panel have asserted about a conspiracy theory regarding the Capitol riot went up in smoke with those text messages.

The House will vote whether to hold Meadows in contempt on Tuesday.

Former Trump White House adviser Steve Bannon was indicted by a federal grand jury on two contempt-of-Congress charges related to his refusal to testify and provide documents to the committee.

Nine Republicans joined Democrats in voting to hold Bannon in contempt.

Cryin’ Adams: Anti-Trump Republican Adam Kinzinger, Dem Adam Schiff Nearly Cry During Capitol Riot Hearing

Representatives Adam Kinzinger and Adam Schiff became emotional during yesterday’s hearing for the House select committee’s investigation into the January 6 riot at the Capitol.

Call them the Cryin’ Adams.

The committee held their first hearing since House Speaker Nancy Pelosi declined to allow two supporters of former President Trump on the panel.

The hearing involved opening statements from the exclusively anti-Trump group, as well as compelling testimony from four police officers who defended the Capitol that day.

The officers themselves were surprisingly emotional and demanded lawmakers address the possibility that Republicans inspired the protest and subsequent riot.

U.S. Capitol Police (USCP) Private First Class Harry Dunn placed blame squarely at the feet of the former President.

“This wasn’t the first time that … the MAGA people came up here to the Capitol,” Dunn said. “There were some skirmishes but it was never an attempt to overthrow democracy.”

“The only difference that I see in [Jan. 6] is that they had marching orders so to say,” he claimed.

Kinzinger Gets Emotional

Adam Kinzinger (R-IL), recently named as an acceptable replacement for people with opposing viewpoints on this one-sided panel, kicked off the melodrama.

The aggressively anti-Trump congressman fought back tears at several points as he described his view of the events.

“Democracies are not defined by our bad days,” Kinzinger waxed poetic. “We’re defined by how we come back from bad days. How we take accountability for that.”

“We may have our deep differences on other policy issues, but we are all Americans today,” he said, eyes puffy, biting his lip. “And we thank you for holding that line.”

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy has referred to Kinzinger and fellow Trump-hater Representative Liz Cheney (R-WY) as “Pelosi Republicans” and is considering punishment for their role on the select committee.

Rep. Bob Good (R-VA), in particular, would like to see McCarthy give the pair the boot.

“I think they’ve left the Republican Party, based on their actions,” said Good. “I think that they should be removed from their committees as Republicans.”

Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) accused the two of “effectively working for Pelosi” and suggested they be banned from private GOP conference meetings.

Schiff Gets Emotional

Adam Schiff (D-CA), the man who cried wolf so many times on RussiaGate and the impeachment trials that it’s hard to take him seriously, followed Kinzinger’s shtick with a little drama of his own.

“If we’re so driven by bigotry and hate that we attack our fellow citizens as traitors if they’re born in another country, or they don’t look like us, then God help us,” Schiff said, visibly emotional.

“But I have faith because of folks like you,” he continued, addressing the officers. “I didn’t expect this could be quite so emotional either but it must be an ‘Adam’ thing today.”

If anything, the common denominator here isn’t the name ‘Adam,’ it’s the name ‘Trump.’

A name so powerful it reduced two grown men to near tears. It was a ‘Trump thing’ yesterday.

We hope Kinzinger and Schiff were able to recover from their emotional breakdown, perhaps drawing a warm bath as the evening was winding down, enjoying a few chapters of The Bridges of Madison County, kicking back in their little ‘No Insurrections Allowed’ swim caps.

Make no mistake, this soap opera will be going on for months before the select committee comes to their predetermined conclusion that Trump is a traitor.

Pelosi Refuses To Allow Trump Allies On Capitol Investigation – McCarthy Pulls Every Republican In Response

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi rejected the recommendations of Representatives Jim Jordan and Jim Banks to serve on the select committee investigating the January 6 riot at the Capitol, prompting House GOP Leader Kevin McCarthy to pull every Republican pick from the committee.

McCarthy even threatened to hold his own investigation of the events if Pelosi didn’t reverse course.

Earlier this week, McCarthy announced that he had chosen five Republican Representatives to serve on the committee – Jordan (OH), Banks (IN), Rodney Davis (IL), Kelly Armstrong (AL), and Troy Nehls (TX).

Banks, who along with Jordan and Nehls objected to certifying the results of the 2020 presidential election, had been chosen to serve as the ranking member.

Jordan is a staunch and very vocal ally of former President Trump.

Pelosi (D-CA) decided she couldn’t have individuals with opposing viewpoints on the committee, rejecting Banks and Jordan.

Pelosi Refuses To Allow Jim Jordan, Jim Banks On ‘Bipartisan’ Select Committee

Nancy Pelosi’s decision to reject the opposition party’s selections to serve on a select committee is probably expected by most of our readers.

“With respect for the integrity of the investigation, with an insistence on the truth and with concern about statements made and actions taken by these members, I must reject the recommendations of Representatives Banks and Jordan,” she announced.

The move prompted McCarthy to hold a press conference noting that Banks and Jordan currently serve on other standing committees and accusing Pelosi of a power grab.

“Speaker Nancy Pelosi has taken the unprecedented step of denying the minority party’s picks for the Select Committee on January 6,” McCarthy said in a statement.

“This represents an egregious abuse of power and will irreparably damage this institution,” he continued.

“Denying the voices of members who have served in the military and law enforcement, as well as leaders of standing committees, has made it undeniable that this panel has lost all legitimacy and credibility and shows the Speaker is more interested in playing politics than seeking the truth,” McCarthy said.

He added that if Pelosi doesn’t reverse course, he would be pulling every Republican off the committee and pursuing “our own investigation of the facts.”

Liz Cheney Praises Pelosi

Anti-Trump Representative Liz Cheney (R-WY), the only Republican picked by Pelosi to serve on the committee due to her anti-Trump history, naturally sang the praises of the House Speaker for her naked partisanship.

“At every opportunity, the minority leader has attempted to prevent the American people from understanding what happened, to block this investigation,” she said.

Cheney, who had her leadership role stripped due to an inability to focus on representing the Republican Party as opposed to her hatred of the former President, suggested McCarthy should no longer be the House GOP leader.

“Any person who would be third in line to the presidency must demonstrate a commitment to the Constitution and a commitment to the rule of law, and Minority Leader McCarthy has not done that,” she railed.

Had Cheney opted for an intelligent response, she would have at least tangentially criticized Pelosi for the move and promoted the charade that the two were interested in a fair and balanced select committee.

Even before Pelosi’s decision, Banks and Jordan were hammering away at the select committee’s seriousness, or lack thereof.

Jordan referred to it as “impeachment, round three,” while Banks accused Pelosi of creating the committee “solely to malign conservatives and to justify the Left’s authoritarian agenda.”

It should be noted that Pelosi’s decision seems to hinge in part on the fact that Jordan and Banks objected to certifying the election results, something Democrats have insisted contributed to the protest at the Capitol.

In fact, Cheney alluded to this in her response suggesting Jordan “may be a material witness to events that lead to that day.”

Somebody may want to ask Cheney and Pelosi about the presence of Representative Jamie Raskin (D-MD) on the select committee in that case.

Democrats, including Raskin, tried objecting to the certification of electoral votes for Donald Trump in 2017 on 11 separate occasions.

Using the Democrat Party’s own standard today, one could argue that the constant insistence that Trump didn’t really win the election in 2016 led to an incitement of violence on his inauguration day.

Democrat Congressman Donates Suit He Wore During Capitol Riot To Smithsonian

Democrat New Jersey congressman Andy Kim announced that he is donating the suit he wore during the Capitol riot on January 6th to the Smithsonian Museum, saying it is a symbol of “resilience and hope” for some people.

The move was accompanied by several melodramatic statements on social media.

Representative Kim had been photographed picking up litter left behind during the riot.

“It really broke my heart and I just felt compelled to do something … What else could I do?” Kim told the media at the time.

The Democrat congressman explained his actions during a lengthy Twitter thread where he claimed he was donating the blue suit to the Smithsonian because the events of the one-time protest “must never be forgotten.”

Democrat Donates Suit To Smithsonian

While Democrat congressman Andy Kim said his actions that day in cleaning up the Capitol were “unremarkable,” it is clear he finds his donation to the Smithsonian to be extraordinarily remarkable.

“The suit still had dust on the knees from Jan 6,” he tweeted, indicating he had worn it again to cast a vote for impeachment. “I wore it so I would have no doubt about the truth of what happened.”

Kim went on to tell followers that he “hid” the suit in his closet because it only brought back “terrible memories” of that day.

“People wrote saying the blue suit gave them a sense of resilience and hope,” Kim claimed.

The Democrat went on to claim he suffered from the incident well after the fact, even being forced to pull his car over later in January to sob uncontrollably.

“The Smithsonian called later in January,” he said. “Honestly, I wasn’t thinking about how the day would be remembered as I was still living it.”

“In fact, after the call, I had to pull over on the side of I-95 as I started to tear up uncontrollably while driving home,” he claimed in an AOC-esque recollection of the protest.

“I was still not ok,” he said.

Kim Likes To Embellish

The Democrat’s story of wearing his suit during the Capitol protest isn’t the first time he’s shown a flair for the dramatic.

In 2018, he was caught embellishing his resume by claiming he worked under a Republican president as a national security officer while he worked at an entry-level position.

Kim, in a campaign ad, claimed that he “worked under both Democratic and Republican Administrations” in an effort to claim bipartisanship.

He was trying to show he could work with Republicans because he was running in a district that voted for Donald Trump in 2016.

The Washington Post called Kim out for his exaggeration.

The House of Representatives voted last week to create a select committee to probe the January 6 Capitol protest by a vote of 220-190.

The committee will be under the control of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and will feature a 13-member panel, eight of whom will be chosen by Pelosi, five of whom will be selected by House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA).

Aside from Andy Kim and his Capitol protest suit, several Democrats have played up the severity of the events of January 6th.

Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) claims she was almost murdered that day and admits she is in therapy because of it.

President Biden declared the events to be “the greatest assault since the Civil War on the Capitol.”

Liz Cheney, Adam Kinzinger Only GOP To Vote For Committee To Investigate Capitol Riot

The House of Representatives voted Wednesday to create a select committee to probe the January 6 Capitol protest, with Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger being the only two Republicans to back the effort.

The predominantly Democrat effort to keep the one-time incident in the news cycle passed by a vote of 220-190.

The committee will be under the control of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and will feature a 13-member panel, eight of whom will be chosen by Pelosi, five of whom will be selected by House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA).

“We cannot wait,” Pelosi said Wednesday.

“We believe that Congress must in the spirit of bipartisanship and patriotism establish this commission,” she added.

“It will be conducted with dignity, with patriotism, with respect for the American people, so that they can know the truth.”

Liz Cheney, Adam Kinzinger Vote In Favor Of Select Committee

Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger’s vote in favor of the select committee is further indication that they, like their Democrat colleagues, have little interest in moving the country forward.

Instead, they actively seek out the liberal media for attention and enjoy being brought to heel by Pelosi.

“Since January 6th, the courage of my party’s leaders has faded. But the threat to our Republic has not,” Cheney (R-WY) said.

“On an almost daily basis, Donald Trump repeats the same statements that provoked violence before,” she claims. “His attacks on our Constitution are accelerating. Our responsibility is to confront these threats, not appease and deflect.”

What words were those, Liz – his statement to supporters that they “peacefully and patriotically make your voices heard” on that day?

Is that what you consider an attack on the Constitution?

An enterprising reporter may want to ask Cheney how she feels about voting with and supporting a select committee alongside some Democrats who tried objecting to the certification of electoral votes for Donald Trump in 2017 on 11 separate occasions.

RELATED: Liz Cheney Calls For Criminal Investigation Into Trump

NeverTrump Republicans

Adam Kinzinger joined Cheney in bending the knee to Pelosi, saying the January protest at the Capitol was a “most egregious attack.”

“We need a full accounting of what happened on January 6, 2021—we need answers on who was involved in the insurrection and who played a role in orchestrating it,” Kinzinger (R-IL) said. “We need transparency and truth.”

Kinzinger and Cheney’s vote was so completely in line with the Democrats that the other 8 House Republicans who voted to impeach Trump in January, and the other 33 who voted in favor of creating an independent bipartisan commission, weren’t so easily duped.

An additional 19 Republicans did not vote on the resolution to create a select committee, though several of them were joining Trump on a visit to the southern border.

McCarthy slammed the committee as a partisan political ploy.

“Nancy Pelosi has spent all the time and all these months playing politics with this, and now we’re finding [the] select committee will be more politics of what she wants to do,” he said.

Liz Cheney was ousted from her leadership role earlier this year for consistently attacking Trump and his supporters and refusing to move the Republican Party forward.

She has called for a criminal investigation into the former President.

“I think the American people have to know (what happened on January 6th),” Cheney insisted. “And certainly any president who did what we know this former president did has got to be investigated criminally.”

Adam Kinzinger, meanwhile, has also allowed Trump to live rent-free in his head, recently claiming supporters of the former President were supporting “a loser president.”

“It was a rally of a loser president. I mean, he’s the first president to lose reelection in decades,” Kinzinger told his friends at CNN following an event in Ohio last weekend.

“I don’t know why these people would go there and in essence ogle at and in many cases just sort of worship a loser.”

Cheney and Kinzinger are now facing primary challenges for their congressional seats.

Fox News reported that some of the Republicans who voted to impeach Trump “may have a very hard time holding on to their seats.”

Imagine choosing to ruin your career just so you can get fawning media coverage from outlets like CNN and MSNBC.

Hillary Clinton Calls For ‘Global Reckoning’ With ‘Disinformation’

Former First Lady Hillary Clinton is advising that social media needs a “global reckoning” with disinformation, and urged the media to “rid themselves of both-sideism.”

In an interview with the Guardian, Clinton made the confusing argument that social media companies are at once too powerful, but also how they also need to tamp down more on certain kinds of views and information.

She also bashed the mainstream press, saying, “They’ve got to rid themselves of both-sidesism.”

“It is not the same to say something critical of somebody on the other side of the aisle and to instigate an attack on the Capitol and to vote against certifying the election.”

“Those are not comparable, and it goes back to the problem of the press actually coming to grips with how out of bounds and dangerous the new political philosophy on the right happens to be.”

Oddly enough, Clinton never opposed anyone objecting to election certifications when Democrats did it over and over again both in 2017 and 2005.

Hillary Clinton Wants Political Opponents Shut Down Over ‘Misinformation’

Can you even recall a time in our nation when Democrats were so open and brazen about their attempts to shut down free speech in America?

Hillary Clinton proceeded to attack Big Tech companies, who have banned President Trump from ever offering his opinion on their platforms, for not doing enough to stop the spread of “misinformation.”

“The technology platforms are so much more powerful than any organ of the so-called mainstream press,” she claimed.

“And I do think that there has to be not just an American reckoning but a global reckoning with the disinformation, with the monopolistic power and control, with the lack of accountability that the platforms currently enjoy,” Clinton continued.

Clinton, who has repeatedly blamed her 2016 presidential election loss on Russian conspiracies, called for world governments to step in and regulate Big Tech.

“So governments are going to have to decide right now that the platforms have to be held to some kind of standard, and it’s tricky,” Clinton said.

Former President Donald Trump was banned from social media for daring to claim the 2020 election was stolen. Here you have Clinton, who claimed that Trump was an “illegitimate” President, saying this isn’t enough.

She Needs A Global Reckoning With Herself

Where to even begin with this obvious case of projection on the part of Hillary Clinton? Perhaps the media needs a global reckoning with her own history of lies and misinformation.

Clinton, after all, admitted that her lawyer, Marc Elias, paid for the infamous Steele dossier.

Elias, in a lawsuit filed by former Trump campaign adviser Carter Page, was accused of using “false information, misrepresentations and other misconduct to direct the power of the international intelligence apparatus and the media industry against” him to “further their political agenda.”

The dossier, which the Wall Street Journal has described as uncorroborated “junk,” was the basis for the Russia/Trump conspiracy news that dominated media during the former President’s administration.

Clinton, of course, was also integral in the lie that the Benghazi attacks were the result of an obscure YouTube video.

Former National Security Adviser under Barack Obama, Susan Rice, even claimed in her book that she was pushed to do five Sunday television interviews by the Obama administration to cover for Clinton by insisting on that story.

What other misinformation came from Hillary Clinton? Well, you could write a book.

Dodging sniper fire in Bosnia, claiming she was named after Sir Edmund Hillary, being “dead broke” after leaving the White House, and trying to join the Marines come to mind.

All of these are provable lies, some mundane, some quite serious. All misinformation that, if social media giants had a global reckoning over, would result in her banning as well.

The problem being, the media isn’t interested in ‘both-sideism.’ In essence, Hillary has already been granted her wish to stifle free speech.

President Trump’s Former Defense Secretary Blames Him For Capitol Riot

On Thursday, former acting Defense Secretary Christopher Miller accused his former boss, President Donald Trump, of helping cause the January 6 riot at the Capitol with his speech earlier that day.

Miller’s remarks came during an interview on VICE on Showtime about one month after Trump was acquitted by the Senate on an incitement charge.

VICE News’ Seb Walker asked Miller, “Did you listen to the president’s speech in the morning? What did you make of it what you heard the kinds of things he was saying?”

Miller replied, “Concerning.”

Walker continued his line of questioning, “When you heard him say, ‘We’re gonna walk down Pennsylvania Avenue,’ ‘take our country back,’ that is what was concerning to you?”

Miller responded, “Sure, yeah. But by the same token, there had been a lot of rhetoric spewed over the previous bunch of years.”

Walker continued, not letting up.

“But on this day, more than any other, when the vote is being certified in Congress, that must of set alarms bells off ringing in your head,” Walker queried.

Miller said, “Yes.”

Then Walker asked his question, point blank.

“Do you think the president was responsible for what happened on the 6th?” Walked pressed.

Miller said he did not think the violence would have unfolded if not for the president’s speech.

“I don’t know, but it seems cause and effect,” Miller said. “Yeah.”

Miller: Violence Wouldn’t Have Happened Without Trump’s Speech

Miller added, “Would anybody have marched on the Capitol, and overrun the Capitol, without the president’s speech? I think it’s pretty much definitive that wouldn’t have happened.”

As to whether or not he believes Trump was actually encouraging the crowd that day to riot, Miller said, “So yes, the question is, did he know he was enraging the crowd to do that? I don’t know.”

Many have speculated that the president telling the crowd to march down streets and be “strong” contributed to what unfolded.

However, Trump explicitly told the crowd that day to “peacefully and patriotically make your voices heard.”

Former President Trump was acquitted of the charge “incitement of insurrection” in relation to the January 6 riot at the United States Capitol on February 13.
