Republican Lawmakers Say Trump Is ‘Fired Up,’ And Made Up His Mind About 2024 Following FBI Raid

All signs are pointing to former President Trump being even more “fired up” about running in 2024 following the FBI raid on Mar-a-Lago earlier this week.

Representatives Jim Banks (R-IN) and Claudia Tenney (R-NY) were two of nearly a dozen members of the House Republican Study Committee who huddled with Trump at a New Jersey retreat earlier in the week. Both left with impressions on the 2024 presidential election.

Banks indicated that the FBI raid hadn’t dampened Trump’s spirits.

“He didn’t seem defeated in the least bit—he was very fired up, very upbeat,” he told Fox News.

Banks added that the incident seems to have accelerated the former President’s desire to announce a decision on a 2024 campaign and that “we are going to like his decision.”

FBI Raid May Have Motivated Trump to Run in 2024 Even More

Rep. Claudia Tenney also seemed to indicate Trump’s spirits were alive and well following the FBI raid.

Tenney thanked the likely Republican nominee for his continued support and endorsement in her congressional district following her visit to Trump National Golf Club at Bedminster.

And if you thought he was down following the raid, she says best think again.

“Thrilled to report he’s feeling better than ever despite the Democrats’ endless smears against him,” she wrote. “Trump 2024!”

Tenney, in an interview on Real America’s Voice, said the actions taken by the FBI and DOJ amounted to the “fourth impeachment” of President Trump.

“They’re going to try to attempt to stop him from running for president,” Tenney said. “And that’s really what it’s about. Because they’re afraid he will get out there and he will run and he will win.”

When Will He Announce?

In a statement following the FBI raid, Trump himself concurred that the weaponization of the Justice Department was an attempt to stop him in 2024.

“It is prosecutorial misconduct, the weaponization of the Justice System, and an attack by Radical Left Democrats who desperately don’t want me to run for President in 2024 …” he said.

Trump, as The Political Insider reported, had made up his “own mind” about running last month, though the timing of an official announcement was still up in the air.

Some had suggested committing to a run prior to the midterms might negatively affect races by stirring up Democrat turnout.

Banks, however, suggested Trump “enjoyed encouragement” from the House Republican Study Committee to “get the decision out sooner rather than later.”

“He only helps us win back more seats in November,” Banks insisted. “The Republican Party is bigger and stronger than ever before because of Donald Trump’s leadership.”

The former President does seem further motivated by the FBI raid, as do his supporters.

As is characteristic of his personality, Trump came out swinging immediately following this week’s events with an ad posted to his Truth Social media account.

“We are a nation that in many ways has become a joke,” Trump said in the ad. “But soon we will have greatness again.”

In it, he predicts that “the best is yet to come.”

Becky Noble of The Political Insider notes that the FBI raid may have backfired on Democrats for 2024.

“If his enemies thought he was defeated,” she wrote, “they were wrong.”

Added Banks, “What happened at Mar-a-Lago unifies Republicans in our outrage … and we stand with President Trump.”

Report: Trump Considering GOP Rep. Elise Stefanik As Potential 2024 Running Mate

Reports have surfaced indicating Donald Trump is considering Representative Elise Stefanik as a potential running mate in 2024.

Sources told CNN that the former President likes the New York congresswoman whom they describe as a “moderate-turned-MAGA star.”

“Conversations about adding Stefanik to a future Trump ticket have gained steam in recent weeks at Mar-a-Lago and in other Republican circles,” the media outlet is reporting.

Sources close to Trump reportedly point out Stefanik has become “a fierce and loyal attack dog,” and that the ticket “would benefit from tapping a woman for vice president” should he run again in 2024.

RELATED: GOP Leader Kevin McCarthy Endorses Elise Stefanik To Replace Liz Cheney

Elise Stefanik Replaced Liz Cheney With Trump’s Endorsement

Elise Stefanik was tapped to replace Representative Liz Cheney (R-WY) as the number three Republican in the House after the former neglected her party principles and focused exclusively on denigrating Donald Trump.

Stefanik became conference chair in May of 2021 thanks in part to Trump’s endorsement.

The former President offered his “complete and total endorsement for GOP Conference Chair,” adding that she is “a tough and smart communicator.”

After being named Cheney’s replacement, Stefanik thanked Trump.

“I believe that voters determine the leader of the Republican Party and President Trump is the leader that they look to,” she praised at the time.

A Curious Choice

Elise Stefanik first caught the eye of President Trump during his first impeachment hearings where she vehemently defended him from the specious claims being made by Democrats.

She earned personal praise from the former President and record-breaking fundraising for her reelection based on those efforts.

Still, her choice as running mate seems curious. She’s far less of a conservative based on her record than Mike Pence, and we saw how that relationship went.

Trump recently blasted Pence for exhibiting insufficient loyalty, calling him a “disappointment.”

Stefanik has a more liberal voting record than even Cheney, according to a Fox News analysis.

“According to a tool on the FiveThirtyEight website on ‘Tracking Congress In The Age Of Trump,’ Cheney voted with Trump 92.9% of the time compared to 77.7% for Stefanik.”

That could be more a function of having to represent a district in liberal New York where one sometimes has to pick their battles.

More recently, she voted in favor of $40 billion in aid to Ukraine even as Americans are currently struggling. It is a bill Trump called “a national disgrace.”

That said, Stefanik has been a vocal supporter of Trump throughout his administration and was also key in recruiting more GOP women to run in 2020.

Trump Ally Sean Reyes Is Preparing To Primary Mitt Romney For Utah Senate Seat

Utah Attorney General Sean Reyes, an ally of former President Donald Trump, is reportedly planning to primary Mitt Romney for his Utah Senate seat in 2024.

Politico revealed that Reyes is discussing a potential run with political players in state politics and supporters and allies associated with Trump.

A source for the outlet who is close to Reyes said he is “very seriously considering running” regardless of what Romney decides to do in 2024.

“He’s confident that regardless of what Senator Romney wants to do, he’s going to pursue this,” they told Politico.

RELATED: Tulsi Gabbard Demands Mitt Romney Resign After He Accuses Her Of ‘Treason’

Sean Reyes May Challenge Mitt Romney in 2024

Romney has a couple of options in the 2024 election cycle.

A national poll last month shows that Senator Romney runs even with fellow Republican Senator Ted Cruz at 4% of those voters making a choice for the Republican presidential primary.

That number ranks well below the 53% Trump received in the same poll, but would land him some votes.

Another poll one month earlier shows 64% of Republicans in Utah disapprove of Romney’s job performance, including half who strongly disapprove.

Last spring, the Senator had boos and catcalls cascaded down upon him from well over 2,000 Republican delegates at the Utah Republican State Convention.

The Republican Party in Weber County, Utah, issued a formal censure of Romney for his multiple votes to convict Trump during his impeachment trials.

Trump issued a statement around that time calling the Utah senator “a stone-cold loser!”

Romney’s Odd Behavior

Politico describes Sean Reyes as “a Trump loyalist” and reports that he’s met with the former President on two occasions “and each time Trump encouraged him to run against Romney.”

“When he meets with Trump, the only thing that comes up is ‘Will you run against Romney? I need you to run against Romney. Get that guy out,’” their source is quoted as saying.

Reyes backed Trump’s efforts to challenge the 2020 election results.

Asked about the prospect of running against Reyes, a confident Romney welcomed the challenge.

“Were I to decide to run again, the best news I could get would be that Sean Reyes was my opponent,” he said laughing and walking away.

Romney, often touted as center-right, moderate, or simply the voice of reason in the Republican Party, has been engaged in some extreme commentary and behavior of late.

He blamed the Russian invasion of Ukraine on the Trump-touted concept of ‘America First.’

“Putin’s impunity predictably follows our tepid response to his previous horrors in Georgia and Crimea, our naive efforts at a one-sided ‘reset,’ and the shortsightedness of ‘America First,’” said Romney.

This week, Romney joined Democrats as the only Republican to vote against repealing the transportation mask mandate.

Even eight Democrats had more courage than Romney and voted to end the yearlong mask charade.

He also engaged in truly extreme rhetoric, the likes of which you’d expect to hear “The View” or CNN, rather than a supposedly level-headed member of Congress, when he accused decorated Iraq War veteran and former Democratic Representative Tulsi Gabbard of being a Russian asset and spreading “treasonous lies.”

And, lest we forget, Senator Romney took part in a Black Lives Matter march to the White House in 2020.

Romney was filmed marching with protesters while explaining that he was walking “to make sure that people understand that Black Lives Matter.”

“We need a voice against racism … we need many voices against racism and against brutality,” he said. “And we need to stand up and say black lives matter.”

Report: Never-Trumpers Kinzinger, Hogan, And Cheney Could All Run Against Trump In 2024

Critics of former President Donald Trump – Representatives Adam Kinzinger and Liz Cheney, along with Maryland Governor Larry Hogan – could all launch presidential campaigns in 2024.

The news comes via a report from the Associated Press.

The report notes that all three have some irons in the fire regarding 2024:

  • Hogan is “planning trips to Iowa and New Hampshire.”
  • Kinzinger is “considering a rough timeline for a potential presidential announcement.”
  • Associates of Cheney are “openly talking up her White House prospects.”

The AP points out that this is the first time ‘Never Trump’ operatives have plotted a ‘shadow primary’ knowing it is very likely Trump himself will run in 2024.

RELATED: Hawley Mocks Liz Cheney For Possible Presidential Run: She Has ‘No Support In Her Own Caucus’

Cheney-Kinzinger 2024

The goal for Hogan, Cheney, and Kinzinger in 2024 supposedly isn’t about winning the nomination, as each is clearly destined to fail. As per usual, they view themselves as having a more noble cause – stopping Donald Trump.

“Their goal would not necessarily be to win the presidency,” the outlet writes. “Above all, they want to hinder Trump’s return to the White House.”

In that, 2024 might not end up being very different than 2016.

“It’s there as an option, but it’s not necessarily because this is all some big plan so I can be in the White House,” Kinzinger admitted.

“It’s looking and saying, ‘Is there going to be a voice out there that can represent from that megaphone the importance of defending this country and democracy and what America is about?’” he added.

Kinzinger seems to think he’s that man. Of course, he’s the same drama queen who said Republicans who stand up to Trump are the same as the heroes of Flight 93 who fought back against terrorists on 9/11.

The report indicates that the ‘anti-Trumpers’ all believe there are “a significant number of less vocal Republican voters” who “are eager to move past Trump.”

RELATED: Goodbye: Anti-Trump Rep. Adam Kinzinger Won’t Seek Reelection

It’s in the Works

The report that Cheney, Hogan, and Kinzinger are planning a run at the Republican nomination for president in 2024 has been hinted at in the past.

A Politico column in August notes that those close to Kinzinger believe he may run for statewide office or “he could even mount a 2024 presidential bid.”

The Political Insider reported back in April that Cheney refused to rule out a future run for President of the United States when asked.

“I’m not ruling anything in or out — ever is a long time,” Cheney was quoted as saying.

The comments prompted Senator Josh Hawley to mock the anti-Trump Representative, saying she doesn’t speak for Republicans and has “no support in her own caucus.”

The pair – Kinzinger and Cheney – are nearly indistinguishable after abandoning any semblance of Republican values and shifting their focus to an exclusively anti-Trump campaign.

Hogan, according to the AP, is busy “working to help Trump’s loudest Republican critics in other states” as he plans trips to Iowa and New Hampshire – the first two states on the traditional presidential primary calendar.

Perhaps that says something about the relative value of a nominal Republican who is able to win a deep blue state, like Hogan in Maryland or Mitt Romney in Massachusetts.

Kinzinger also noted he’d be willing to try a presidential run as an Independent in order to stop Trump but his “hope would be to be able to find the salvation of the GOP.”

Never-Trumpers Will Gather In D.C. This Week To Discuss 2024 Presidential Race

In their ongoing attempt to sabotage former President Trump, a group of Never Trump Republicans will gather this week in Washington D.C. The meeting will be part cheerleading session for Jan. 6 Committee members Reps. Liz Cheney (R-WY) and Adam Kinzinger (R-IL), and discussion of a possible viable Never Trump presidential candidate in 2024.

The conference is entitled, “Principles First: The Summit,” and also will include a show of support for several state officials who refused to allow any investigation into possible election fraud.

RELATED: Is She Getting Ready To Switch Parties? Tulsi Gabbard Will Give Headline Speech At CPAC

Interesting Timing

The timing for the Never Trump Summit is interesting. It will fall on the same week as the annual Conservative Political Action Conference, or CPAC. The gathering is the biggest annual conference of conservative personalities and activists.

Republican attorney and founder of Principles For America, the organization hosting the event, Heath Mayo says that the timing of the two events would “certainly be counterprogramming of CPAC.”

He continued,

“We want to come together in a visual show of support for people who have taken stands for ideas when it hasn’t been comfortable. You don’t see those folks, yet, in rooms that are energized. But I think the energy is there. We’ll see how many folks show up.”

Speakers for the “Principles First Summit” is a list of the usual Never-Trump suspects.

In addition to Cheney and Kinzinger, speakers will include, GA Sec. of State Brad Raffensperger, former Weekly Standard editor Bill Kristol, and some new additions to the Never Trump club, Capitol Hill Officer Harry Dunn and retired Army Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman.

Other Topics

Another item on the Principles First agenda is sure to be the recent censure of Cheney and Kinzinger by the Republican National Committee. Both were censured for their roles as members of the Jan. 6 Committee.

For some members of the RNC, censure did not go far enough. They pushed for full expulsion from the House GOP Caucus. But karma may soon be catching up to both Cheney and Kinzinger.

As congressional district lines are being redrawn, Kinzinger’s district is being eliminated and has opted for retirement rather than run against another GOP incumbent for the new district seat.

RELATED: Bill Maher: School Mask Mandates ‘Creating A Generation’ Of ‘Germ-Paranoid’ Kids

Liz Cheney Also Has Problems

Liz Cheney has her own unique set of problems since she voted for impeachment. In addition the the RNC censure, in November, the Wyoming GOP voted to no longer recognize Cheney as a Republican.

In January, Cheney’s primary opponent Harriet Hageman trounced Cheney in a Wyoming GOP straw poll, and recently, House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy officially endorsed Hageman for the Wyoming GOP primary. Last spring, Cheney was ousted from her position as GOP conference chair.

Heath Mayo remains confident that the Principles First Summit will draw a crowd.

“I believe there is a lane here for 2024. The party is completely stuck in a rut talking about if the last election is legitimate and if Liz Cheney, [Maryland Governor Larry] Hogan, or someone else is compelling and wants to run, I think a lot of people would listen.”

Trump Will Run For President In 2024, Jim Jordan Predicts

Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) went on Fox News on Tuesday night to predict that Donald Trump will run for president again in 2024.

Jordan Predicts Trump Will Run In 2024

“I think he is,” Jordan told host Sean Hannity when asked if Trump will run. “Every time I speak to him, it — he says that he wants to run. He plans to run, I think, but he hasn’t fully committed that yet. But I certainly hope he does because no president has done more of what he said he would do than President Trump. Best president I think we’ve ever had:”

“Keeping his word, doing what he said, doing what he was elected to do,” he continued. “That’s the kind of individual we need in the White House, and that’s the kind of individual that our adversaries respected because they knew he was putting America’s interests first and standing strong for the principles that matter.”

Mark Meadows Agrees

Jordan’s former House Freedom Caucus colleague Mark Meadows feels the same way.

“Listen, Sean, when he came down that escalator, the left has been going after him attack after attack after attack, from Russia hoax to impeachment,” Meadows said. “Now, we’re even still seeing it in New York City.”

“Here’s what I will say is, the American people want him to run,” he added. “I believe he’ll run. And at the end of the day, it’s a time for choosing, and the American people will choose Donald Trump.”

Trump ‘Beyond Seriously’ Considering Running

Last month, Trump said that he is “beyond seriously” considering running for president again in 2024.

“I say this: I am looking at it very seriously, beyond seriously,” Trump told Fox News when asked about a potential 2024 run. “From a legal standpoint I don’t want to talk about it yet.”

Related: We Don’t Need A New Party, This Is Our Party Now

Sources close to Trump told Politico that he has been saying that he will run again assuming he is healthy enough to do so.

“He has been saying he’s going to. He’s seriously considering it — he’s probably going to do it — so we’ll see what happens,” said Rep. Ronny Jackson (R-TX), who served as White House physician, told Insider’s Kimberly Leonard.

McCarthy’s desperation to be speaker unites an entire coalition against the GOP and its Big Lie

The more things change, the more they stay the same ... and the more they don't.

First off, what’s stayed the same (and there is simply no nice to way to say this): GOP Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy is a lying sack of sh*t.

It's an observation McCarthy made necessary Wednesday, when he stood outside the White House following an Oval Office meeting and lied about House Republicans' fervent backing of Donald Trump's Big Lie that the 2020 election was stolen.

Asked if he had any qualms about elevating Rep. Elise Stefanik of New York to a leadership post after she spent the last week spewing Trump's election fraud lies, McCarthy told reporters, "I don't think anybody is questioning the legitimacy of the presidential election. I think that is all over with."

To state the obvious, McCarthy joined 138 members of his caucus in voting to reject certification of the 2020 results. McCarthy also orchestrated the ouster of the only member of the GOP leadership team who has loudly and consistently rejected Trump's lies on the matter, Rep. Liz Cheney of Wyoming. McCarthy has also very publicly enlisted the help of Trump—chief promoter of the baseless fraud lies—in retaking control of the House next year. In essence, McCarthy has now built the foundations of House Republicans' 2022 strategy entirely on Trump's overt lies about "the legitimacy of the presidential election," as he put it.

As Cheney later told NBC News of McCarthy's debased leadership, "I think that he is not leading with principle right now ... and I think that it is sad and I think it’s dangerous.”

The operative word in Cheney's measured response is "dangerous." And when we look back on what is yet another pathetic and frightening episode in the Republican Party's continued detachment from reality, it may actually prove to be more of a turning point than it initially seemed.

On Thursday, a group of about 150 high-profile disaffected members and former members of the Republican Party announced an alternative movement to help save democracy from the GOP, which they now view as a "material threat to the nation."

"We will not wait forever for the GOP to clean up its act," they wrote in a Washington Post op-ed. "If we cannot save the Republican Party from itself, we will help save America from extremist elements in the Republican Party."

The piece was authored by several people, including former Pennsylvania Congressman Charlie Dent, former George W. Bush secretary of transportation Mary Peters, and former Republican National Committee chair Michael Steele.

What exactly they are proposing is admittedly squishy. They are urging likeminded Americans to join their "Call for American Renewal," an alliance that will apparently back politicians from either party in an attempt to defeat extremist Republicans.

"We will fight for honorable Republicans who stand up for truth and decency, such as Liz Cheney, Adam Kinzinger, Lisa Murkowski and Mitt Romney, to name a few," they write. "But we will not rely on the old partisan playbook. We intend to work across party lines with other Americans to oppose extremists and defend the republic wherever we can."

But perhaps the most important takeaway from their piece is the fact that they have declared the Republican Party to be an unsalvageable trash heap in its current form—a virtual wasteland of corruption, bereft of principled ideas and leadership.

"Tragically, the Republican Party has lost its way, perverted by fear, lies and self-interest. What’s more, GOP attacks on the integrity of our elections and our institutions pose a continuing and material threat to the nation," they write.

They are no longer working to save the Republican Party as we know it today, even if they will work to protect certain members of it. They have effectively declared war on the party leadership and its unholy alliance with Trump.

It may seem merely symbolic, but it's important—the more prominent Republicans who are willing to take this step, the better for democracy. It will free up some longtime Republican voters who have been harboring misgivings about the party to either vote Democrat or independent or not at all in the next few election cycles. Any of those options are good ones from the standpoint of trying to save our democracy.

In the meantime, some Republicans working within the party plan to make life as difficult as possible for GOP leaders like McCarthy. Rep. Adam Kinzinger of Illinois, one of 10 who voted to impeach Trump, tweeted Wednesday that McCarthy "wrongly" assumes GOP members like himself would vote for McCarthy as House speaker if Republicans manage to win the majority next year. It's also true that Kinzinger may not survive to take part in that vote, but a group called the Republican Accountability Project plans to do as much as possible to protect the 10 House Republicans who voted for Trump's impeachment, including both Cheney and Kinzinger.

Another possibility that will make liberals queasy but would also make McCarthy's life hell is the idea of a Cheney run for president in 2024, which she didn’t exactly shoot down in her NBC interview with Savannah Guthrie. Asked about the prospect, Cheney ultimately said she would do “whatever it takes” to keep Trump from occupying the Oval Office ever again.

Sarah Longwell, executive director of the Republican Accountability Project and publisher of The Bulwark, pushed the idea of a Cheney bid for the GOP nomination in a Thursday post, but most certainly as a Republican, not a third-party candidate.

"Of course Cheney should run for president as a Republican," Longwell wrote. "She will almost certainly lose. But there is a long and noble tradition in running for president in order to shape a party, to organize and persuade voters, to lend prominence to an issue."

Cheney running for the GOP nomination would be the worst-possible-case scenario for congressional Republicans who have now bet their entire party on Trump. She would be a loud and constant reminder of the Big Lie they have embraced and the fact that they all sold their souls for political gain.

While no strategy is exactly clear or well-formed at the moment, it does seem like McCarthy's actions have advanced the thinking of some never-Trumpers and unleashed a more difficult political environment for the party overall. Many who had hoped that they could somehow influence the direction of the GOP without having to declare war on it appear to have been disabused of that notion. What happens now remains to be seen, but taking an action that cements an entire coalition against your cause is about the worst of all possible worlds for a supposed political leader. Congrats, McCarthy.

Donald Trump Jr. Rips Liz Cheney For Palling Around With Biden Before His Big ‘Socialist’ Speech

On Thursday, Donald Trump, Jr. criticized Republican Conference Chair Liz Cheney on Twitter for warmly greeting President Joe Biden with a fist bump after his address to Congress, in which he laid out a “radical socialist vision.”

Trump Jr. joined his father in calling the anti-Trump Cheney a warmonger.

“‘Republican’ warmonger Liz Cheney gives Sleepy Joe a fist bump after he delivered a radical socialist vision for the future of America,” Trump Jr. tweeted.

“So glad she’s in the GOP leadership, I guess they wanted to be more inclusive and put Democrats in there too?!?”

Cheney Defends Warm Greeting To Biden

Hours later, Cheney responded.

“I disagree strongly w/@JoeBiden policies, but when the President reaches out to greet me in the chamber of the US House of Representatives, I will always respond in a civil, respectful & dignified way,” Cheney tweeted.

“We’re different political parties. We’re not sworn enemies. We’re Americans,” she finished.

Cheney Explains Her Differences With Biden Administration

In another tweet, Cheney discussed her disagreement with the Biden administration’s policies.

Cheney wrote, “Biden, Pelosi and Democrats are set on abusing their power and infringing on our freedoms as they try to pass their radical agenda into law.”

Cheney And Trump Sworn Enemies?

While Cheney says we’re all Americans and not sworn enemies, she has been aggressive in her condemnation of former President Donald Trump.

Cheney has been at odds with the Trump forces within the Republican Party for some time, including working with Democrats to block Trump’s withdrawal from Afghanistan.

But things really became heated after she voted for the second impeachment of the former president for alleged incitement of insurrection at the Capitol on January 6.

After Cheney said earlier this week that she would not rule out a 2024 presidential run, Donald Trump issued a statement denouncing the Republican congresswoman using the same “warmonger” rhetoric his son did in his tweet.

“She’ll either be yet another lobbyist or maybe embarrass her family by running for President, in order to save face,” wrote Trump.

“This warmongering fool wants to stay in the Middle East and Afghanistan for another 19 years, but doesn’t consider the big picture — Russia and China!” Trump said..

Trump Fires Back At Liz Cheney, Calls Her A ‘Warmongering Fool’

On Tuesday, former President Donald Trump released a statement in which he called anti-Trump Republican Congresswoman Liz Cheney a “warmongering fool” who only teased she might run for president because she might lose her congressional seat.

Cheney has repeatedly attacked Trump in recent months, blaming the former President for the violence at the Capitol on January 6th.

On Tuesday, Trump responded to Cheney’s attacks.

Trump Blasts ‘Warmongering Fool’ Cheney

“Liz Cheney is polling sooo low in Wyoming, and has sooo little support, even from the Wyoming Republican Party, that she is looking for a way out of her Congressional race,” Trump said in a statement.

“Based on all polling, there is no way she can win,” Trump continued. “She’ll either be yet another lobbyist or maybe embarrass her family by running for President, in order to save face.”

Trump then become even more aggressive in his rhetoric.

“This warmongering fool wants to stay in the Middle East and Afghanistan for another 19 years, but doesn’t consider the big picture—Russia and China!” Trump said.

Cheney Received Backlash From Republicans For Impeachment Vote

When asked on Monday if she ever considered running for president in 2024, Cheney told a reporter, “I’m not ruling anything in or out — ever is a long time.”

Cheney is still part of House GOP House leadership despite almost facing censure for voting to impeach former President Trump in the wake of the January 6 Capitol Hill riot.

Mrs. Cheney also suffered backlash from Republicans in her home state for her stance on Trump.

Carbon County GOP Chairman Joey Correnti IV said in January, “Our representative did not represent our voice.”

Cheney also received a challenger for her seat, Republican State Sen. Anthony Bouchard.

But none of this has stopped Cheney from continuing to denounce Trump and Republicans who still support the former president.

“I think that we’re going to be in a good position to be able to take the White House,” Cheney said. “I do think that some of our candidates who led the charge, particularly the senators who led the unconstitutional charge not to certify the election, you know, in my view that’s disqualifying.”
