Joy Behar Claims Trump Voters Who Still Think He Won Don’t Want To Count Black Votes

On Wednesday’s episode of “The View,” Joy Behar launched yet another attack on the 74 million Americans who voted for Donald Trump, this time claiming that those who still think he won the election are enthralled in a “the white supremacy mentality” that does not want Black votes to count.

Behar Makes This All About Race

“This problem that we’re having in this country seems to be much larger than Jim Jordan or any of these people,” Behar said. “There was a professor, Timothy Snyder, a professor of history from Yale yesterday, and he was talking about how Trump believes he won, and these other people believe he won because they only count white people.”

“They eliminate Black people from the rolls,” she added. “They would like it to have only white people vote forever in this country. Then they can say they won.”

Not stopping there, Behar doubled down and further bought into the liberal narrative of making absolutely everything about race.

“Unfortunately, Black people vote and are here to stay, unfortunately for them,'” she said. “When you say 40% still want him to be president, it’s possible that that is the white supremacy mentality that is pervasive in this country. Until you get rid of that— and it’s all around the world, by the way — it’s not just this country.”

“There’s a feeling of the other is not good enough,” Behar concluded. “We saw this in the Holocaust. The Jews were the other, and the Blacks in this country, according to these people in this country, are the other, and they don’t deserve to vote. That’s why they keep saying they win. Because in their minds, only white people should vote.”

Behar Shames Trump Supporters

Behar has spent the past four years relentlessly attacking Trump and his supporters every day on her talk show. Just after the November election, Behar went on the attack against Trump voters, saying that they need to “look in the mirror” and see what they did.

“A lot of people in this country need to have a come-to-Jesus moment and look in the mirror and see what they did,” Behar said. “Again, we don’t call people names but look in the mirror and say, ‘Did I vote because of my pocketbook and did I ignore the fact that children are being separated from their parents?”

Did I vote because I don’t want Black people moving into the suburbs and ignore the fact that Black people are always behind the eight ball in this country and can’t get a leg up because of my vote?’” she added. “People need to look in the mirror.”

Cotton says he opposes Trump impeachment effort in Senate

Sen. Tom Cotton, R-Ark., said in a statement late Wednesday that he will oppose another Senate impeachment trial after the House passed an article of impeachment alleging President Trump incited the riot at the Capitol and is unfit for office.

Opinion: The GOP’s carnival of hypocrisy

History will record that the second impeachment of President Donald Trump branded him forever as a catastrophically immoral and divisive leader. It will also mark most of his defenders in the Republican Party as duplicitous opportunists who claimed at the last moment that the country needed unity after they had contributed to the rhetoric bringing the nation to the precipice of civil war.

Wednesday Night Owls: Federal gov’t needs to release demographic data about vaccine recipients

Night Owls is a themed open thread appearing at Daily Kos seven days a week.

7 days until JOE BIDEN AND KAMALA HARRIS TAKE THE OATH OF OFFICE

Erin Kissane is the co-founder of the The COVID Tracking Project, and Alice Goldfarb leads the COVID Racial Data Tracker and is a 2021 Nieman Visiting Fellow. At The Atlantic, they write—We Need to Know Who Is Getting VaccinatedThe federal government must release demographic data about vaccine recipients:

A year into the coronavirus pandemic in the United States, we still lack a complete understanding of who is getting sick, and where, and when. Demographic data from many states are astonishingly incomplete, and even widely collected information, such as the age of patients at the time of diagnosis or death, is so inconsistently presented that it has been impossible to assemble into a clear national picture. The federal government is now making more demographic data available, but the information continues to emerge at a snail’s pace.

This has left government outsiders to try to assemble the data—groups like us, the COVID Tracking Project, which is housed at The Atlantic. For more than nine months, we’ve compiled data from states to create a composite national picture of the pandemic. Time and again, we have seen that a lack of federal support  has left overburdened state public-health authorities to fend for themselves, resulting in incomplete reporting, incompatible data definitions, and inconsistent data pipelines.

With vaccine data, the United States has the opportunity for a do-over. The national vaccination effort itself is fragmented and inconsistent, guided by state and county policies in the absence of a comprehensive federal system of support—but the data about vaccinations need not mirror this incoherence. Tracking the distribution of vaccines and the pace of vaccination can provide meaningful insights into the volume of future cases, hospitalizations, and deaths. And particularly given the well-established racial and ethnic disparities we see in COVID-19 cases and deaths, we must have access to data that would reveal whether these disparities are being remediated—or intensified—by our national vaccination effort. “The main problem in any democracy is that crowd-pleasers are generally brainless swine who can go out on a stage & whup their supporters into an orgiastic frenzy—then go back to the office & sell every one of the poor bastards down the tube for a nickel apiece.”           ~~Hunter S. BLAST FROM THE PAST

On this date at Daily Kos in 2007—The Real Maverick in the Presidential Race:

By now, John McCain’s identity as a "maverick" has been pretty well demolished among thinking people, though it retains a tenacious grip on certain sectors of the media.  In light of McCain’s support for overturning Roe v. Wade, his cave on torture, his hiring of significant numbers of Bush-Cheney staffers, his turn to Bush’s big donors, and, of course, the McCain doctrine of Iraq war escalation, you’d think that it would be the joke among journalists it is among bloggers, but what can I say?  I guess they’re slow.

Those journalists so desperate for a maverick presidential candidate, though, should take a look at former Alaska Senator Mike Gravel (pronounced Gra-VEL), a long-shot Democratic candidate for president. Like McCain, if elected, Gravel would be the oldest president. Like McCain, Gravel’s major political experience is in the US Senate (1969-1981). Gravel also is a veteran, having served in the Army in the Counter Intelligence Corps in the early 1950s.

And just as McCain's initial reputation was made on an act of Vietnam-era courage—refusing to be released from POW status early—in his past, so was Gravel's—entering the Pentagon Papers into the public record via his Senate subcommittee on Buildings and Grounds, and filibustering the renewal of the draft.  But unlike McCain, Gravel is genuinely a maverick, with the good and the bad that comes with that status.

What a Senate impeachment trial could mean for Trump – and why it might not happen at all

President Trump could face some unpleasant consequences from an impeachment trial if he is convicted, but the proceedings may never begin.

Dem Rep. Swalwell Compares President Trump To Osama bin Laden

Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA), who has had his own fair share of problems lately in the wake of the scandal involving him allegedly associating with a suspected Chinese spy, spoke out on Tuesday night to compare President Donald Trump to the late 9/11 terrorist mastermind Osama bin Laden.

Swalwell Compares Trump To Osama bin Laden

“Well, Osama bin Laden did not enter US soil on September 11, but it was widely acknowledged that he was responsible for inspiring the attack on our country,” Swalwell said on “PBS NewsHour.”

“And the president, with his words — using the word ‘fight,’ with the speakers that he assembled that day, who called for trial by combat and said we have to take names and kick ass — that is hate speech that inspired and radicalized people to storm the Capitol,” he continued.

A visibly surprised host Judy Woodruff asked of Swalwell was really comparing Trump to bin Laden, at which time the Democrat doubled down.

“I’m comparing the words of a [sic] individual who would incite and radicalize somebody, as Osama bin Laden did, to what President Trump did,” Swalwell said. “You don’t actually have to commit the violence yourself, but if you call others to violence, that itself is a crime.”

Republicans Demand Swalwell Be Removed From House Intelligence Committee

This comes one month after seventeen Republicans sent a letter to Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) demanding that Swalwell be immediately removed from the House Intelligence Committee after his relationship with a suspected Chinese spy was revealed.

“We write to you today out of concern with Congressman Eric Swalwell’s reported, close contacts with a Chinese Communist Party spy recently reported by Axios. Because of Rep. Swalwell’s position on the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, his close interactions with Chinese intelligence services, however unintentional they may be, are an unacceptable national security risk,” they said in the letter.

“HPSCI handles some of the most sensitive information our government possesses — information critical to our national defense,” they added. “As such, we urge you to immediately remove Rep. Swalwell from his position on the House Intelligence Committee.”

Not only did Pelosi not remove Swalwell from the intelligence committee, she has also just made him one of her impeachment managers in her effort to remove President Donald Trump from office.

ABC Quietly Edits Story That Claims Republican Movement Should Be ‘Cleansed’ Of Trump Supporters

An ABC News column written by Rick Klein and MaryAlice Parks was quietly edited after it originally argued for “cleansing” the movement of Trump supporters.

“Even aside from impeachment and 25th Amendment talk, Trump will be an ex-president in 13 days. The fact is that getting rid of Trump is the easy part,” they argued in a column for a section called ‘The Note.’

“Cleansing the movement he commands, or getting rid of what he represents to so many Americans, is going to be something else,” it continued.

Klein also tweeted a column with the original phrasing about Trump supporters quoted.

ABC quietly changed the verbiage in the column to “cleaning up,” while Klein simply deleted the tweet.

ABC Reporter Wants Trump Supporters “Cleansed”

Nothing quite says ‘unity’ like the media suggesting that Republicans “cleanse” themselves of Trump supporters – 75 million strong.

The Media Research Center’s Nick Kangadis writes that Klein “can celebrate that Trump is leaving office all he wants.”

“But it is the height of hypocrisy for those in the media to condemn others for violent acts that are dwarfed in comparison to the consistent violence of the far-left — one act doesn’t justify the other — and then go out and call for something like a ‘cleansing’ of people and think there’s nothing wrong with a statement like that,” he added.

It wasn’t long before viewers were able to draw a link between past instances of ethnic cleansing and the call for a political cleansing.

ABC Suggested It, Big Tech Is Actually Doing It

Amid threats of the 25th Amendment being invoked and a second impeachment vote cleared the House, it seems there is a push to completely wipe out any memory of the Trump administration.

Big Tech has been dutifully following the demands of former First Lady Michelle Obama who insisted social media permanently ban President Trump from their platforms.

They did, but weren’t about to stop with the President. They’re going after Trump supporters too.

Thousands of conservatives have reportedly been ‘cleansed’ from Twitter’s platform since the Capitol riots took place.

“The radical left and their big tech allies cannot marginalize, censor, or silence the American people,” former White House press secretary Sarah Sanders said.

“This is not China, this is the United States of America, and we are a free country.”

They’re certainly trying their best to ‘cleanse’ America of the conservative moment. Communist China would be so proud.
