Katie Couric’s Calls To ‘Deprogram’ Trump Supporters Come Back To Haunt Her As She Prepares To Host ‘Jeoparydy’

Earlier this week, we reported that Katie Couric had asked how we would “deprogram” supporters of Donald Trump during an interview with Bill Maher. Now, this has come back to bite her, as it has put her upcoming gig guest hosting the game show “Jeopardy!” in danger.

Couric’s Initical Commetns

“I mean, it’s really bizarre, isn’t it, when you think about how AWOL so many of these members of Congress have gotten. But I also think some of them are believing the garbage that they are being fed 24/7 on the internet, by their constituents, and they bought into this big lie,” Couric said to Maher.

“And the question is how are we going to really almost deprogram these people who have signed up for the cult of Trump,” she added.

‘Jeopardy!’ Producers Fire Back

A source with “Jeopardy!” told Page Six that producers of the game show are not happy about Couric’s remarks because much of the program’s audience is conservative.

“Katie’s comments so soon after she was announced as a host are very concerning to the producers,” the insider said. “They are worried there will be a backlash against her. There has already been some complaints.

“Jeopardy viewers are quite a traditional bunch, and there’s fears she might be too polarizing after this,” the source added. “At the very least, she already appears to have ruled herself out of becoming the permanent host of the show.”

Couric has been widely criticized for the comments that she made, with The Hill columnist and Fox News contributor Joe Concha speaking out to blast her.

“This sort of rhetoric from Couric — which comes across as so condescending and elitist — underscores the divide between our media, which primarily resides in New York and Washington, and the rest of the country, which is moderate to center-right per multiple polls,” he said. “And it’s why the industry is so mistrusted and frowned upon.”

“Jeopardy!” lost its longtime host Alex Trebek to pancreatic cancer back in November, and Couric is scheduled to be the second of many guest hosts to take the helm of the show before a permanent host is decided on.

Meghan McCain Unleashes On Biden, Fauci, And Amazon Over Hypocrisy – ‘I Was Lied To’

On Friday’s episode of “The View,” Meghan McCain unloaded on Joe Biden, Dr. Anthony Fauci, and Amazon for their hypocrisy when it comes to the coronavirus pandemic.

McCain Goes Off

McCain kicked off her rant by blasting Fauci for previously telling Americans that masks “didn’t work” in an effort to preserve them for first responders during a time when they were in short supply.

“Look, I think the great horror of living in America right now is the absolute, complete and total breakdown of trust in our institutions,” McCain said, adding that she had been pregnant when Fauci said this and gave her masks away because of him.

“Just say to me, ‘First responders need them more than average American. Please donate them for the good of your heart.’ I would have done the same thing, but I was lied to,” she added.

McCain went on to call out Biden and his family for not wearing masks on federal property immediately after he signed an executive order mandating that masks had to be worn there.

“So again, I think the ‘Rules for thee, but not for me’ that have been going on for a long time in the Trump Administration and now you’re seeing with President Biden, I was really disappointed he wasn’t wearing a mask,” she said.

McCain Doubles Down

Not stopping there, McCain went after Amazon for suddenly volunteering to help with the COVID-19 vaccine rollout after Donald Trump left office.

“That seems political as well,” she said. “So why does Jeff Bezos all of a sudden want to help with vaccine distribution, but he didn’t during the Trump Administration?”

“There is a lot of blame to go around everywhere,” McCain concluded. “Yes, President Trump was integral in spreading false information, but I’m not about to give Dr. Fauci a profile in courage award this morning.”

McCain hits the nail on the head here, as the hypocrisy from the left has been truly staggering on these issues.

Greta Thunberg Ominously Claims AOC’s Green New Deal Is ‘Very Far From Being Enough’

The teenage environmental activist Greta Thunberg, who hails from Sweden, went on MSNBC on Friday to claim that the radically liberal Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s (D-NY) Green New Deal is “very far from being enough” when it comes to fighting climate change.

Thunberg Talks Green New Deal

“How can we expect people will want climate action?” Thunberg said. “How can we expect people to support any kind of action when the general public welcome awareness is so low when it comes to the climate. We have not been made aware of what is happening because the climate crisis has never once has been treated as a crisis. So how can we expect a to happen when we aren’t treating this crisis like a crisis.”

“The Green New Deal obviously it’s not — if you include crucial aspects like the aspect of equity and so on it is very, very far from being enough, from being in line with the Paris agreement and so on,” she added. “That’s not my opinion if people may think that, but it at least gets the discussion going.”

“We can’t negotiate and compromise with the laws of physics,” Thunberg concluded. “Yes, this will affect us in the future. This will mostly affect the future generations. But we must not also forget that people are suffering and dying from the consequences of the climate and ecological crisis already today.”

Thunberg Goes After Ted Cruz

This comes after Thunberg trolled Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) for his condemnation of President Joe Biden rejoining the Paris Climate Agreement.

“By rejoining the Paris Climate Agreement, President Biden indicates he’s more interested in the views of the citizens of Paris than in the jobs of the citizens of Pittsburgh,” Cruz wrote. “This agreement will do little to affect the climate and will harm the livelihoods of Americans.”

Thunberg fired back by mockingly tweeting, “So happy that USA has finally rejoined the Pittsburgh Agreement. Welcome back!”

Thunberg is still just a teenager, yet she has long been the face of the radical anti-climate change movement, traveling the world to lecture the rest of us about how evil we are when it comes to the environment.

Joy Behar Comes Unglued – Says Trump ‘Made It His Business For Four Years To Rape This Country’

Joy Behar has spent the past four years ranting against Donald Trump and his supporters in some of the most vile ways imaginable. Though Thursday was the day after Trump left office, Behar was up to her old tricks again as she had one of her worst rants against him yet, outrageously claiming that he “made it his business for four years to rape this country.”

Behar Comes Unglued

“I worry about my grandchild, you know, I only have one grandchild and one daughter,” Behar said. “There are some people who have no children who don’t worry about the environment as much. I know them. They just say, ‘Well, I’m not going to be here.’ Well, I’m not going to be here either, but my little Luca is going to be here, and I want him to be able to drink the water and breathe the air.”

“Joe Biden has already done a couple of things by going back into the Paris agreement and by canceling the Keystone pipeline. He has other things on his agenda that he is going to do to fix the environment,” Behar continued. “This man, this Trump, he made it his business for four years to rape this country. It’s disgusting, and I’m so happy to have somebody who cares about the children back.”

Behar Attacks Trump Supporters

This is far from the first time these women have shamed Trump and the millions of people who voted for him. Just after the November election, Behar went on the attack against Trump voters, saying that they need to “look in the mirror” and see what they did.

“A lot of people in this country need to have a come-to-Jesus moment and look in the mirror and see what they did,” Behar said. “Again, we don’t call people names but look in the mirror and say, ‘Did I vote because of my pocketbook and did I ignore the fact that children are being separated from their parents?”

“Did I vote because I don’t want Black people moving into the suburbs and ignore the fact that Black people are always behind the eight ball in this country and can’t get a leg up because of my vote?’” she added. “People need to look in the mirror.”

Pelosi ‘Not Worried’ About Alienating Trump Supporters With Impeachment – Dropping Trial Is ‘Not How You Unify’

During her weekly press conference on Thursday, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) spoke out to say that she is “not worried” about alienating those who supported Donald Trump by moving forward with his impeachment trial, saying that dropping it would not be “how you unify.”

Pelosi Discusses Impeachment

Pelosi said this after she was asked by a reporter if a Trump impeachment trial would “undercut” President Joe Biden’s call for unity that he made at his inauguration speech the day before.

“No, I’m not worried about that,” Pelosi said. “The fact is the president of the United States committed an act of incitement of insurrection. I don’t think it’s very unifying to say, ‘Oh, let’s just forget it and move on.’”

Related: Pelosi Sending Impeachment Article to Senate Monday, GOP Senators Warn McConnell Against Vote To Convict

The House impeached Trump for a second time last week for “incitement of insurrection” in last week’s Capitol riot. Pelosi is set to send the article of impeachment to the Senate for a trial, and she claims that dropping it would be the opposite of unifying.

“That’s not how you unify. Joe Biden said it beautifully. If we’re going to unite, you must remember that we must, we must bring this— look, that’s our responsibility to uphold the integrity of the Congress of the United States,” Pelosi said. “That’s our responsibility, to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States. And that is what we will do.”

“Just because he’s now gone — thank God — you don’t say to a president, ‘Do whatever you want in the last months of your administration. You’re gonna get a get-out-of-jail card free,’ because people think we should make nice-nice and forget that people died here on January 6, that the attempt to undermine our election, to undermine our democracy, to dishonor our Constitution— no, I don’t see that at all. I think that would be harmful to unity,” she added.

McCarthy Fires Back

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) has said that while Trump “bears responsibility” for the Capitol riots, he does not support impeachment because he feels that it goes against a message of unity.

“I think impeachment was totally wrong. It was purely politically driven. … Now President Trump is a private citizen. Why would you spend your time on this?” McCarthy told Fox News on Thursday. “This is where I think President Joe Biden could have shown the nation he really was uniting. Let’s not do impeachment. Let’s dismiss this. Let’s unite this nation.”

Liz Cheney Squirms As She Twice Refuses To Say If Senate Should Hold Impeachment Trial For Trump

Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) became visibly uncomfortable in an interview on Thursday as she twice refused to say if the Senate should hold an impeachment trial for Donald Trump.

Cheney Refuses To Give Straight Answer On Senate Impeachment

“There’s a Constitutional process that’s underway and you know that is something that the Senate is gonna determine,” Cheney said while appearing on Fox News.

“I think that … again we all need to take a step back and recognize that the fragility of our system, the security, the survival of our republic depends upon making decisions — that have to do with things like the attack that we saw on Jan. 6 — that are separate from the party that can never be partisan … ” she added.

The House voted to impeach Trump for a second time last week, and Cheney was one of ten Republicans who voted in favor of his impeachment, saying that she believes he “lit the flame” of the Capitol riot.

Cheney Dodges Again

Fox News host Bill Hemmer pointed out that Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) “still has the article. If she so chose she could probably keep it. Would you support that now?”

“They’re going to have to decide what the next steps are here. Of course the Senate will have to decide how they’re going to run the trial,” Cheney said, adding that former Vice President Mike Pence deserves “tremendous praise and our gratitude for standing firm for his Constitutional oath, for doing what he knew was right.”

The third highest ranking Republican in the House then said that it was time to “come together as a party now to move forward” and that the GOP caucus must focus its energies on “fighting against the kind of policies” now being advanced by President Joe Biden and a Democratic-controlled Congress. Cheney concluded by calling for a “positive agenda of hope and opportunity.”

This comes as calls are growing for Cheney to resign from her leadership position in the House, but she was defiant when she was questioned about this.

“I’m not going anywhere,” she said. “We’re going to have these discussions inside the conference. We have differences of opinion about a whole range of issues including about this one.”

Trump Gets Bad News As Screen Actors Guild Finds ‘Probable Cause’ To Expel Him

The Screen Actors Guild – American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA), which is the actor’s union, has announced that it has found “probable cause” that Donald Trump has “violated the union’s Constitution.” The former president has been a member of the union for over thirty years.

Trump Gets Bad News From SAG-Aftra

This matter is set to be heard by the union’s Disciplinary Committee, and if found guilty, Trump will be reprimanded in some way. He could be censured, fined, suspended, or even expelled from the actor’s union, according to Deadline.

The report cites Article XIV of the union’s Constitution, which states that members could be expelled for “engaging in actions antagonistic to the interests or integrity of the union.”

The complaint against Trump is in relation to the Capitol riots earlier this month, claiming that the ex-president supported “a reckless campaign of misinformation aimed at discrediting and ultimately threatening the safety of journalists, many of whom are SAG-AFTRA members.”

Union President Speaks Out

“Donald Trump attacked the values that this union holds most sacred — democracy, truth, respect for our fellow Americans of all races and faiths, and the sanctity of the free press,” said SAG-AFTRA president Gabrielle Carteris. “There’s a straight line from his wanton disregard for the truth to the attacks on journalists perpetrated by his followers.”

The union’s national executive director David White spoke out about this situation as well.

“Our most important role as a union is the protection of our members,” he said. “The unfortunate truth is, this individual’s words and actions over the past four years have presented actual harm to our broadcast journalist members.”

“The board’s resolution addresses this effort to undermine freedom of the press and reaffirms the principles on which our democratic society rests, and which we must all work to protect and preserve,” White continued.

The union sent a letter to Trump this week to let him know about the charges that have been made against him. A vote of two-thirds of the SAG-AFTRA board is needed to expel Trump.

Given how radically liberal and hateful towards Trump Hollywood has become, it would be no surprise if the union does indeed end up expelling him.

AOC And Her ‘Squad’ Celebrate Biden And Harris – We Must Begin ‘Healing Our Planet’

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) and her radically liberal “Squad” were quick to celebrate the inaugurations of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris on Wednesday, undoubtedly hoping that this new administration will help them inflict their radical agenda on our nation.

AOC Praises Biden And Harris

As per usual, Ocasio-Cortez led the charge among her “Squad” in praising Biden and Harris.

“A historic day,” she tweeted. “Congratulations to our new President @JoeBiden and our new Vice President @KamalaHarris. Now we must begin creating justice, healing our planet, and improving the material conditions for all people. The work is on all of us to organize and build a better future.”

Ilhan Omar Gets In On The Action

Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) got in on the action as well, tweeting, “Today, we begin a new chapter in America. President Joe Biden and Vice-President Kamala Harris will build back a better world for all Americans. I can’t wait to work with the Biden-Harris administration to implement meaningful change for the people.”

Omar went on to lay out exactly what she wants to see Biden do as president.

“I’m excited about Biden’s promises to end the Muslim ban, reenter the Paris Climate Agreement, reinstate DACA and increase refugee admissions by over 100,000 in 2021. These executive orders will help undo the damage of the last four years,” she wrote.

“We cannot be too bold in responding to this pandemic. People don’t just need $2K checks, but recurring payments until the end of this pandemic,” Omar added. “We don’t just need a rent moratorium, we need rent cancellation so people aren’t shackled with debt when the moratorium ends.”

“There is so much the president can do through executive orders that would have a tangible impact on millions of people’s lives—from student debt, to lowering drug prices, to a $15 minimum wage,” Omar concluded.

We will have the opportunity to carry out the most progressive agenda our country has ever seen,” she said. “This is our chance to create the America I dreamed about as a refugee—a country where anything is possible. We are rooting for you, @JoeBiden and @KamalaHarris.

Rest Of ‘Squad’ Weighs In

Not wanting to be left out, Rep. Ayanna Pressley tweeted the Psalm 30:5 Bible verse, “Weeping may endure for a night but joy cometh in the morning.”

“After drinking from a firehose of contempt for the American people, we now have leaders committed to compassion & empathy. For that, I am joyful,” she dramatically added. “Congratulations @POTUS & @VP.”

“Today, we will witness President @JoeBiden repeal the #MuslimBan, a racist policy, that left so many families separated & set a tone of hate,” Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) wrote on her Twitter page.

Rep. Cori Bush (D-MO), the newest member of the “Squad,” let her voice be heard as well.
“Congratulations on making history, Madam Vice President @KamalaHarris,” she tweeted. “I’m excited to partner with you and President @JoeBiden to get our communities the help we need.”

The “Squad” has been open in the past about wanting to pressure Biden to carry out their radical agenda. It remains to be seen just how successful they will be in this endeavor.

Joy Behar Calls For Trump To Be ‘Convicted’ – Sunny Hostin Says Trump Voters ‘Have Been Brainwashed’

Joy Behar and her fellow cohosts of “The View” have spent the past four years bashing Donald Trump and his supporters, and Tuesday was no different despite the fact that it was the day before their beloved Joe Biden was sworn into office.

Hostin Discusses Trump Family

The radically liberal cohost Sunny Hostin attacked the 74 million Americans who voted for Trump, claiming that they have been brainwashed by this “misinformation campaign over the past four years.”

“I also wonder if he’ll try to issue a pre-emptive pardon to Jared Kushner,” she began. “I don’t think we know the half of what this family has been up to. I wonder if he’ll try to pardon himself. That’s never been done in the history of this country. I don’t think it’s legal. I would be surprised if he did it, but he has been such an unconventional president that it’s possible that he may try to preemptively pardon himself.”

That’s when Behar chimed in to say that Trump must be “convicted.”

“I just wanted to say, Sunny, if he pardons himself, Sunny, that admits that he’s guilty and then when the impeachment in the Senate comes up, what are they supposed to do with that?” she said. “They have to convict him. He himself is saying I’m guilty.”

Hostin Says Trump Supporters ‘Have Been Brainwashed

“Absolutely. Absolutely,” Hostin agreed. “But his defense, I think, is going to be, ‘This is a witch hunt. This is a witch hunt against me, so of course, I have to try to pardon myself because everyone’s out against me.’ And guess what? Seventy-four million will believe that because they have been brainwashed, Joy. I really believe that they’ve been brainwashed by this misinformation campaign over the past four years.”

This is far from the first time these women have shamed Trump and the millions of people who voted for him. Just after the November election, Behar went on the attack against Trump voters, saying that they need to “look in the mirror” and see what they did.

Liz Cheney Voting To Impeach Trump Backfires On Her As She’s Censured By Wyoming Republicans

Last week, Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY), who is the third-highest ranking House Republican, broke with her party last week when she was one of ten Republicans to vote with Democrats in impeaching President Donald Trump.

This has already come back to bite her, however, as she has just been censured by Wyoming Republicans for making this vote.

Liz Cheney’s Impeachment Vote Backfires

The House voted to impeach Trump for a second time by a vote of 232-197. Prior to the vote, Cheney released a scathing statement blaming Trump for the Capitol riots. She claimed that Trump “summoned” the rioters and then “lit the flame of this attack.”

“Everything that followed was his doing,” she added. “None of this would have happened without the president. The president could have immediately and forcefully intervened to stop the violence. He did not.”

This backfired on Cheney on Monday, when the Republican Party Central Committee in Carbon County, Wyoming voted unanimously to censure her for supporting impeachment.

“Representative Cheney has violated the trust of her voters, failed to faithfully represent a very large majority of motivated Wyoming voters, and neglected her duty to represent the party and the will of the people who elected her to represent them,” the censure resolution declared.

Related: If Republicans Put America First, They’ll Remove Liz Cheney, Not Donald Trump

“The Carbon County Republican Party does hereby censure U.S. Representative Liz Cheney of Wyoming for her actions on Wednesday, January 13th 2020, as those actions stand in contradiction to the quantifiable will of the majority of the electorate of Wyoming, and for devaluing the political influence of the State of Wyoming by voting in favor of a process that followed no known hearing process, provided no evidence to consider, called no witnesses to be sworn, and allowed none of the accusers to be questioned by the accused,” the resolution added.

Things Get Worse For Cheney

Carbon County GOP Chairman Joey Correnti blasted Cheney to the Washington Times, saying that she has thus far refused to answer constituents angry over her vote.

“People in the county party have attempted to get a hold of Rep. Cheney through email, phone calls — and I think only one person got a response from a staffer and it was pretty short,” Correnti said. “We haven’t heard anything.”

The Wyoming Republican Party had already released a statement that slammed Cheney for voting in favor of impeachment.

“The wind in Wyoming has been horrendous today — with gusts up to 65 miles per hour,” the party said. “That is nothing compared to the whirlwind created by Representative Cheney’s announcement that she would be voting to impeach President Trump, and her subsequent follow-through of doing just that.”

“There has not been a time during our tenure when we have seen this type of an outcry from our fellow Republicans, with the anger and frustration being palpable in the comments we have received,” the statement added. “The consensus is clear that those who are reaching out to the Party vehemently disagree with Representative Cheney’s decision and actions.”

Pressure has been mounting for Cheney to resign, with House Freedom Caucus Chairman Andy Biggs (R-AZ) saying that she does not represent Republican ideals.

“The reality is, she’s not representing the conference, she’s not representing the Republican ideals,” Biggs told Fox News. “And I think that that’s a problem…I’m not alone in that sentiment.”
