House Republicans To Launch Climate Caucus After Biden Claims Global Warming Is Greatest Threat To American Security

House Republicans are preparing to launch a caucus designed to educate members on the effects of climate change.

The effort, led by Representative John Curtis (R-UT), will, according to The Hill, “give members information and new strategies for how to talk about” climate change and “possibly even change some minds” on the topic.

The climate caucus reportedly already has 45 members.

Curtis says he is seeking bipartisan solutions on matters such as limiting greenhouse gasses in other countries and supporting nuclear power.

Still, he believes other less popular options for the GOP “should be on the table.”

“I didn’t really know what solutions were good solutions. I didn’t know which ones I could support,” said Curtis.

“It felt like, and I think a lot of Republicans feel this way, I had to endorse the Green New Deal if I was going to … be part of the solution, and a lot of Republicans find that troubling.”

Climate Caucus After Biden Declares Global Warming America’s Greatest Threat

President Biden, during a speech to Air Force personnel in the United Kingdom earlier this month, warned that global warming is the “greatest threat” facing America and that it is “not a joke.”

Biden claimed he was told this by Pentagon officials when he was serving alongside Barack Obama in 2009.

“When I went over to the tank in the Pentagon when I was first was elected vice president with President Obama, the military sat us down and let us know what the greatest threats facing America were, the greatest physical threats,” he told those in attendance.

“This is not a joke,” he insisted. “You know what the Joint Chiefs told us the greatest physical threat facing America was? Global warming.”

Curtis has been seeking to get his GOP colleagues to take the matter of climate change more seriously for some time now.

“This is a Republican bread and butter issue,” he said at a climate change town hall last September. “We care about the Earth, now let’s show it.”

“We have to stop being so afraid of this conversation,” he insisted.

“We’ve got good answers. We’ve got answers that don’t kill the economy. We’ve got answers that can be bipartisan,” Curtis said. “We’re in this. We want to be part of this.”

Curtis Sought to Censure Trump

On Tuesday, The Political Insider reported that wildfires in California, something Democrats have consistently blamed on climate change despite their existence throughout history, are being fought through billions of dollars in funding meant to clear out forest floors.

Perhaps that topic will be addressed in the new Republican climate caucus.

Clearing forest floors to combat wildfires in California is something that was frequently suggested by former President Donald Trump.

He was ridiculed for such suggestions.

Curtis, shortly after the Capitol protest on January 6th, introduced a resolution to censure and condemn Trump.

“The events at the Capitol last week were abhorrent; all those involved must be held accountable, including President Trump,” he said at the time.

“Censuring the President and making it clear that Congress does not support any level of his involvement in the riots nor any attempts to undermine an election is a critical step in holding him accountable as more facts continue to unfold,” added Curtis.

The Utah Republican voted against impeachment, however, citing a lack of time for a full inquiry.

Greta Thunberg Ominously Claims AOC’s Green New Deal Is ‘Very Far From Being Enough’

The teenage environmental activist Greta Thunberg, who hails from Sweden, went on MSNBC on Friday to claim that the radically liberal Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s (D-NY) Green New Deal is “very far from being enough” when it comes to fighting climate change.

Thunberg Talks Green New Deal

“How can we expect people will want climate action?” Thunberg said. “How can we expect people to support any kind of action when the general public welcome awareness is so low when it comes to the climate. We have not been made aware of what is happening because the climate crisis has never once has been treated as a crisis. So how can we expect a to happen when we aren’t treating this crisis like a crisis.”

“The Green New Deal obviously it’s not — if you include crucial aspects like the aspect of equity and so on it is very, very far from being enough, from being in line with the Paris agreement and so on,” she added. “That’s not my opinion if people may think that, but it at least gets the discussion going.”

“We can’t negotiate and compromise with the laws of physics,” Thunberg concluded. “Yes, this will affect us in the future. This will mostly affect the future generations. But we must not also forget that people are suffering and dying from the consequences of the climate and ecological crisis already today.”

Thunberg Goes After Ted Cruz

This comes after Thunberg trolled Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) for his condemnation of President Joe Biden rejoining the Paris Climate Agreement.

“By rejoining the Paris Climate Agreement, President Biden indicates he’s more interested in the views of the citizens of Paris than in the jobs of the citizens of Pittsburgh,” Cruz wrote. “This agreement will do little to affect the climate and will harm the livelihoods of Americans.”

Thunberg fired back by mockingly tweeting, “So happy that USA has finally rejoined the Pittsburgh Agreement. Welcome back!”

Thunberg is still just a teenager, yet she has long been the face of the radical anti-climate change movement, traveling the world to lecture the rest of us about how evil we are when it comes to the environment.

AOC Again Vows To Push Biden Further Left, Says Dems Need To Win Senate To Avoid Being Bipartisan

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) again vowed to push Joe Biden further to the left should he win the election and added Democrats need to retake the Senate to avoid the burden of having to govern in a bipartisan fashion.

AOC, known as one of the more vociferous voices in the far-left element of the Democrat party, made the comments during an interview with CNN’s Jake Tapper.

In the segment, the ‘Squad’ leader dismissed bipartisanship as little more than “Republican manipulation.”

She hinted that the 2020 election could be a “once-in-a-generation opportunity to have the White House, the Senate, and the House majorities Democratically-controlled.”

“We have an obligation to the American people to show what a Democratic administration can actually accomplish,” claimed Ocasio-Cortez.

She went on to suggest her party needs to demonstrate to the American people “that we can govern” and do so as “a memorable shift from just a flatline of this idea of bipartisanship.”

AOC Scoffs at the Idea of Governing in a Bipartisan Manner

So much for the notion of reaching across the aisle. But then, was there any doubt that the fringe elements in the Democrat party plan a full-on takeover should they be voted in?

This is, after all, the same group that forced Democrats into conducting the first partisan impeachment in the nation’s history.

Also of little surprise, but noteworthy for voters, is that AOC has again telegraphed to the entire nation that she and her band of merry progressives plan on pushing Biden as far left as they possibly can.

“Frankly, I think it would be a privilege and it would be a luxury for us to be talking about what we would lobby the next Democratic – and how we will push the next Democratic administration,” she said.

AOC suggested progressives are “the base of the Democratic Party” and she will play a role in pushing Biden to accept their agenda.

“Is my job to push the Democratic Party? Absolutely,” she added. “And that has been a part of my role since I have been elected.”

AOC Will Push Biden Left, Can’t Say She’ll Definitively Back Pelosi For Speaker

Earlier this month, the Working Families Party and all four members of the ‘Squad’ unveiled an agenda designed to push Biden to the far-left should he win the presidency.

Known as the “People’s Charter,” the plan seeks universal health care, re-allocation of resources away from policing, canceling student debt, and advancing the tenets behind the Green New Deal.

AOC has previously expressed confidence that she can push Biden as far left as possible, implementing policies such as the Green New Deal which has a price tag in the trillions.

In the interview with Tapper, Ocasio-Cortez also seemed to be gearing up for a fight with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

When asked if she could commit to supporting Pelosi as Speaker again, she hedged.

“I believe that we have to see those races as they come, see what candidates are there. I am committed to making sure that we have the most progressive candidate there.” she replied.

“But, if Speaker Pelosi is that most progressive candidate, then I will be supporting her.”

Is AOC simply biding her time, ready for a takeover of the entire party should they sweep their way to victory?
