Rand Paul Says the Name of Alleged Whistleblower, Asks if Impeachment Was Rigged from Beginning

On Tuesday, Sen. Rand Paul took the Senate floor, where he read the name of the alleged whistleblower at the center of the House impeachment inquiry.

His comments occurred after Paul was not allowed to read the same statement last week. He submitted the same question last week during President Trump‘s impeachment trial and it included the person’s name.

Paul Silenced No More

“I think they made a big mistake not allowing my question. My question did not accuse anybody of being a whistleblower,” Paul said Tuesday from the Senate floor.

RELATED: Rand Paul Says President Trump Would Be ‘Going Against The Law If He Didn’t Investigate The Bidens’

The question made reference to two alleged Democratic operatives including one who has been reported to be the whistleblower who filed a complaint about Trump’s July 25 phone call with Ukraine’s President, Volodymyr Zelensky.

‘I think they made a big mistake not allowing my question’

“Now during the proceedings, I asked a question that was disallowed. And I’m going to ask that question again this morning, because the Constitution does protect debate and does protect the asking of questions,” Paul said. “I think they made a big mistake not allowing my question. My question did not talk about anybody who is a whistleblower. My question did not accuse anybody of being a whistleblower.”

Paul noted that he “simply named two people’s names,” then repeated his question, including saying the names.

“And you say, well we should protect the whistleblower, and the whistleblower deserves anonymity. The law does not preserve anonymity,” Paul said. “His boss is not supposed to say anything about him, he’s not supposed to be fired. I’m for that.”

Paul said naming names was necessary to determine if there was a possible plot to take down the president.

“My point is, is by having such protection, such overzealous protection, we don’t get to the root of the matter of how this started,” the senator said. “‘Cause this could happen again.”

Don Jr. Approves!

The President’s son, Donald Trump Jr. praised Paul for asking these questions.

“Must watch,” Don Jr. tweeted along with a video of Paul’s presentation. “Great job Rand Paul for calling this nonsense out.”

Sen. Paul’s comments came as both Republican and Democratic senators spent the day making arguments for and against removing Trump from office due to his supposedly questionable dealings with Ukraine.

Jill Biden Says Donald Trump’s Attacks on My Kid Are ‘Disgraceful’

During MSNBC’s coverage of the Iowa caucus on Monday, former second lady Jill Biden said that President Donald Trump’s remarks about her stepson Hunter Biden were “disgraceful.”

‘Disgraceful’

MSNBC host Nicolle Wallace said to Mrs. Biden, “You’ve been in the center of the beginnings of the primaries, but also of the national story in Washington, the impeachment trial of Donald J. Trump. How have those two things collided for your family on the campaign trail?”

RELATED: Adam Schiff Wants Trump Removed Because He Won’t Do “What’s Right For This Country”

Biden replied, “Well, you know, it’s been a little difficult. I’m a mother. I know you’re a mother. It’s hard when you see your kids attacked. But I think that voters realized this is about Donald Trump. It’s not about my son Hunter or my husband, and I think it’s disgraceful what Donald Trump has done. And we know this is all a distraction.”

She also said that Trump’s comments could be a rallying cry for supporters of her husband.

It’s All About Beating Trump

“The bottom line I think for most Iowans is they want to beat Donald Trump. That’s the bottom line,” she added. “And so if Donald Trump is doing this because he is afraid of my husband, then that turns out to be a good thing for Joe because they’re getting behind him, and they’re supporting him.”

Give Us a Break, Jill

Jill Biden seriously wants us to believe that her 50-year-old stepson, Hunter Biden, is somehow beyond reproach? Despite the fact that he earned a significant amount of money through the Ukraine Burisma energy firm without knowing anything about that business? And how this kind of seeming nepotism might look in the midst of a ridiculous impeachment witch hunt against President Trump that centers on U.S. dealings with Ukraine?

Give us a break.

What’s “disgraceful” is Democrats continuing to hound this President over nothing while still insisting  Joe and Hunter Biden’s Ukraine activity doesn’t deserve to be scrutinized.

You can’t blame Jill Biden for standing up for family. But that doesn’t mean certain members of her family aren’t covered in sleazy political grime.

Nancy Pelosi Says Even if President Trump is Acquitted ‘He Will Not Be Acquitted’

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi left members of the press confused during her weekly briefing Thursday when she said that President Trump “will not be acquitted” even if he actually is acquitted by the United States Senate.

‘He will not be acquitted’

“When this is over, do you think that President Trump will understand that he’s got a Congress watching this? Or will he be emboldened because the Senate will have acquitted him?” asked a reporter.

“Well, he will not be acquitted. You cannot be acquitted if you don’t have a trial. You don’t have a trial if you don’t have witnesses and documentation,” replied Pelosi.

Pelosi then doubled-down in saying she wanted more witnesses in the ongoing Senate impeachment trial, insisting that Republicans must allow further investigations or “pay a price.”

“It’s about a fair trial. They take an oath to have a fair trial. We think that would include witnesses and documentation. The ball is now in their court, so either do that or pay a price,” warned Pelosi.

RELATED: Pelosi Frets: End of the World If Trump Wins in 2020

Pelosi spoke with reporters Thursday after signing her Articles of Impeachment, saying the entire process is not a “question of proof” but “allegations.”

“It’s not a question of proof, it says what allegations have been made. That has to be subjected to scrutiny as to how we go forward, but it should not be ignored in the context of other events that could substantiate some of that,” said Pelosi.

Pelosi Living in Fantasy Land

What kind of fantasy land is Pelosi living in?

If the Senate acquits President Trump, which it looks like they will likely do this week, how in the world can she still say “he will not be acquitted?”

Trump Derangement Syndrome obviously takes many forms. The usual TDS is just partisan Democrats saying ridiculous things just to oppose Trump.

But now the Speaker of the House believes even if the President is acquitted, he really won’t be? An elected official of this ranking is just going to completely ignore reality?

If this isn’t proof the Democrats have completely lost it, I don’t know what is.

Buttigieg: 63 Million People Might Have Voted for Trump But All of Them Are Still Racist

2020 Democratic presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg has said time and again that he believes Americans who voted for President Donald Trump are racist. On Sunday, CNN’s Jake Tapper asked Buttigieg if he regretted saying this.

Does Pete Buttigieg Really Believe 63 Million Americans are Racist?

“Republicans have been seizing, including in a new Trump ad, a statement you made that ‘Anyone who supported this president is, at best, looking the other way on racism.’ You’ve also said that on my show,” Tapper explained. “That’s almost 63 million Americans who you’re painting with a pretty broad brush. Do you regret saying that at all?”

Buttigieg responded without hesitation.

RELATED: Team Trump Airs Super Bowl Ad Touting President’s Important Criminal Justice Reform

“No. I’m very concerned about the racial division that this president has fostered,” the former South Bend, Indiana mayor explained. “And I’m meeting a lot of voters who are no longer willing to look the other way on that, looking for a new political home.”

Polls Show Trump Approval is Up with Minority Voters

If Buttigieg believes Trump and his supporters represent racism, a host of recent polls might bely that argument.

An Emerson poll in early December put Trump at 35 percent with black voters and 38 percent with Hispanics.

“If you add in Asian voters at 28 percent approval,” notes Emerson’s director of polling Spencer Kimball, “our number is very close to the new Marist poll,” which finds Trump’s approval at 33 percent among non-white voters. Trump received 34 percent approval among black voters in a recent RasmussenReports poll, and a CNN poll puts Trump’s approval among non-white voters at 26 percent.

Rush Limbaugh said of these polls, “We’ve got three polls today showing Donald Trump at 30 percent or higher with black voters. We’ve got Emerson, we’ve got Rasmussen and we’ve got Marist!”

‘You can’t dispute the fact that African-Americans have been benefiting from President Trump’s policies’

“You can’t dispute the fact that African-Americans have been benefiting from President Trump’s policies,” said Katrina Pierson with the Trump campaign. “Four years ago, the president asked the black community, ‘What do you have to lose;’ now we are thinking, ‘Imagine what we stand to gain!’”

No doubt the unemployment rate falling to a 50-year-low has something to do with Trump’s rising popularity with non-white voters.

Buttigieg can continue to call Trump supporters racist all he wants. He’ll be lucky to get anywhere near the Democratic nomination–much less the only poll that counts in November.

Rand Paul to Trump: Revoke John Bolton’s Security Clearance

On Saturday, Republican Senator Rand Paul recommended that President Trump remove the security clearance of former national security adviser John Bolton.

‘No one… should be able to use their security clearance for profit!’

Paul tweeted, “No one, especially not John Bolton, should be able to use their security clearance for profit! I say revoke his clearance now ⁦@realDonaldTrump.”

RELATED: Rand Paul Slams Chuck Schumer, Says Trump Should Sue Him for Defamation

The senator’s tweet was accompanied by a RealClearPolitics article that analyzed how Bolton’s security clearance could be at risk once the impeachment trial is over. The article cites two anonymous government officials saying that the removal of Bolton’s clearance is an “almost certainty.”

Paul a Harsh Critic of Bolton

Paul has been a harsh critic of Bolton’s foreign policy ideas, which he believes go against Trump’s “America First” foreign policy, in which the U.S. is no longer the policemen of the world. Paul has called Bolton’s foreign policy agenda “naive,” and blasted the former ambassador in a witty tweet a few days ago.

“Why didn’t John Bolton testify to the US House? Apparently his book wasn’t quite finished yet for presales!” Paul tweeted Monday.

Many believe Bolton’s book contains damaging information that could hurt President Trump. The book is currently only a manuscript, and Bolton reportedly received a $2 million advance.

President Trump has referred to the book as “nasty” and “untrue.”

Trump Could End Up Agreeing with Paul

Is John Bolton, the Democrats new hero, some sort of truth teller? Or is he smearing President Trump to make a buck as Sen. Paul alleges? $2 million is a lot of bucks.

Either way, someone who is a former national security adviser probably shouldn’t have national security clearance. It wouldn’t be surprising if President Trump ends up agreeing with Rand Paul on this issue.

Senator Hirono: Trump ‘Believes He Is King Now’ — ‘I Think Our Country Is in Great Danger’

In the wake of Sen. Lamar Alexander announcing that he would not vote to allow witnesses in President Donald Trump’s ongoing senate impeachment trial, his fellow Senator Mazie Hirono of Hawaii criticized the direction of the trial, which looks likely to end in an acquittal.

Appearing on MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow, Hirono said that Trump seems to think he is “king” as a result of the trial’s looming outcome.

Hirono Claims Trump Will Face Impeachment as ‘Every Turn’

“[T]his is the last response for these two days of questions and answers that I got from the president’s team, and that is, ‘Let’s just assume he did it. So what?’” Hirono said. “And I’ve been saying for a long time that’s probably what they’re going to end up with — you can say all of these things, but so what? The ‘so what’ means that this president, who believes that he can do anything he wants under Article 2 of the Constitution, will continue to go forward.”

“And I tell you, what the Trump team said, ‘Oh well you’re going to impeach him and convict him for what he did,’ that means this president is going to be facing impeachment at every turn,” Hirono continued.

‘I think our country is in great danger’

“What they really are afraid of is this president unfettered without a conviction means that he’s going to be doing a lot more stuff that will subject him to impeachment because that is what this guy is. He believes he is king now,” she added.

“I think our country is in great danger,” Hirono finished.

RELATED: Democrats Begin to Meltdown as Their Loss Looms

The Democrats are Dangerous – Not Trump

This is comical. Does Hirono not think their lengthy and ridiculous impeachment push has taken everyone’s focus off of important policy issues–to the detriment of the country?

Couldn’t that be considered “dangerous?”

And while Hirono and other Democrats think Trump behaves like a king, they have busily invested everything they have into overturning the 2016 election.

Guess what other kind of figure might seek to undo the will of the people. Kings. Tyrants. Dictators.

All the things Dems continue to accuse Trump of being.

So before another Democrat accuses Donald Trump of being a “king” or having a heavy hand, they might want to look in the mirror.

Rand Paul Says President Trump Would Be ‘Going Against The Law If He Didn’t Investigate The Bidens’

Republican Senator Rand Paul asserts that President Donald Trump had a legal obligation to investigate potential corruption committed by former Vice President Joe Biden and his son, Hunter.

Paul appeared on Fox News Thursday night program “The Story with Martha MacCallum” after making news earlier in the day by reading a question that had been censored by Chief Justice John Roberts on the Senate floor. Paul’s question cited the “original legislation” providing money to Ukraine as having included a provision to “investigate corruption.”

Rand Paul: Trump NOT Asking Ukraine to Investigate Bidens Would Be Breaking the Law

“Did you think there was anything wrong with the phone call?” asked host MacCallum. “Did you see it as a request for a political favor in the coming election against somebody who is likely running against the president?”

“The original legislation that we gave money to Ukraine said that the president has to investigate corruption,” Paul responded. “And so I think there is a lot of evidence that the Bidens are corrupt and that there was corruption, so he would actually be going against the law if he didn’t investigate the Bidens. I think he did what was completely in compliance with the law and this is just partisanship thing gone amok, and ultimately the Democrats are going to regret they did this because they are making it very, very hard for the country to have anything that we can do together.”

Paul was likely referring to a 1998 treaty that former president Bill Clinton signed with Ukraine that called for “Mutual Legal Assistance” to investigate corruption. Fox News host Jesse Watters brought up this fact during a debate back in September with fellow “The Five” co-host Juan Williams, saying that Trump had a “firm legal underpinning” to pursue an investigation into the Bidens.

Paul an Ally of Trump

Rand Paul has consistently opposed the Democrats impeachment scam, including questioning whether Donald Trump’s enemies have conspired against the President long before the Ukraine phone call was a twinkle in liberal eyes.

Not to mention, it doesn’t take a genius to figure out that Joe and Hunter Biden are corrupt!

Adam Schiff Claims ‘I Don’t Know Who the Whistleblower Is’

On Wednesday, House Intelligence Chairman Adam Schiff insisted that he did not know the identity of the so-called “whistleblower” who filed the original complaint about President Donald Trump that led to the impeachment trial.

‘I don’t know who the whistleblower is’

“First of all, I don’t know who the whistleblower is, I haven’t met them or communicated with them in any way,” Schiff said Wednesday during the Senate impeachment trial.

What Schiff failed to mention was that the “whistleblower” approached a House Intelligence Committee aide with supposed details about Trump’s phone call with Ukranian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

The New York Times reported that a Schiff committee staffer told the “whistleblower” to meet with the inspector general and file a whistleblower complaint.

Schiff Denies His Staff Did Anything to Help Whistleblower

Yet Schiff is still denying that any member of his staff did anything to help the “whistleblower.”

“The committee staff did not write the complaint or coach the whistleblower what to put in the complaint,” Schiff said.

Schiff condemned what he called a “conspiracy theory” that someone on his committee staff allegedly “colluded” with the whistleblower to craft a complaint that launched the impeachment investigation.

A spokesman for Schiff told the NYT that the whistleblower, “contacted the committee for guidance on how to report possible wrongdoing within the jurisdiction of the intelligence community.”

Schiff said his staff has shown “complete professionalism,” adding that members of his staff had become subject to threats on social media thanks to “smears” committed by President Trump and his allies.

Schiff Vowed Not to Reveal Identity

Schiff vowed he would not do anything to reveal or endanger the identity of the “whistleblower” as the trial continues.

Republican Congresswoman Elise Stefanik of New York accused Schiff on Twitter of lying about the “whistleblower.”

“Stunning that Adam Schiff lies to millions of Americans when he says he doesn’t know the identity of the whistleblower,” she wrote. “He absolutely knows the identity of the whistleblower because he coordinated with the individual before the whistleblower’s complaint! His staff helped write it!”

Many Republicans have called for the “whistleblower” to testify as part of the impeachment process, with Schiff repeatedly refusing at each turn.

On Wednesday, Schiff told the Senate that the “whistleblower” testifying was no longer relevant because President Trump released the transcript of the call.

“There’s no need for that whistleblower any more except to further endanger that person’s life,” Schiff said.

Three Democratic Senators May Vote to Acquit Trump of Impeachment

According to a new report, three moderate Democratic senators have signaled they might vote to acquit President Donald Trump in the upper chamber’s impeachment trial.

Sens. Joe Manchin, Doug Jones and Kyrsten Sinema Might Vote to Acquit Trump

Sens. Joe Manchin of West Virginia, Doug Jones of Alabama and Kyrsten Sinema could break ranks with their Democratic colleagues. At least one of them has also said they could vote in favor of only one impeachment article — the abuse of power — but oppose obstruction of Congress.

This week in an interview with Politico, Manchin said he will only support only one of the articles if he “can explain one and not the other.” He has yet to decide on whether he will run for re-election in 2024, said he won’t make a final decision on how he will vote until after the trial concludes.

“I know it’s hard to believe that. But I really am [undecided]. But I have not made a final decision. Every day, I hear something, I think ‘this is compelling, that’s compelling,’” Manchin said. “Everyone’s struggling a little bit.”

RELATED: Adam Schiff Wants Trump Removed Because He Won’t Do “What’s Right For This Country”

The most vulnerable Senate incumbent among Democrats is Jones, who had previously criticized the “obstruction of Congress” article and has said he is “troubled” that House Democrats failed to call White House officials as witnesses.

“I don’t think I’ve totally decided. I certainly have [been] leaning one way or the other. That needle moves” Jones told Politico. “I am leaning in certain ways but I want to hear, I truly, honestly, want to hear the entire trial.”

Sinema’s silence on impeachment suggests her vote is still undecided. A spokesperson said she supports gathering more evidence to “make a more fully informed decision at the end of the trial.”

Dems Push for John Bolton to Testify

Theses senators’ comments come as Democrats now want to call former White House National Security Advisor John Bolton to testify as a witness. The New York Times reported Sunday that Bolton’s upcoming book reveals that President Trump wanted to tie U.S. military to Ukraine to inquiries into allegations of corruption in former Vice President Joe Biden, and his son, Hunter Biden.

President Trump has rejected these claims, and took direct aim at Bolton Wednesday morning in a pair of tweets.

“For a guy who couldn’t get approved for the Ambassador to the U.N. years ago, couldn’t get approved for anything since, ‘begged’ me for a non Senate approved job, which I gave him despite many saying ‘Don’t do it, sir,’ takes the job, mistakenly says ‘Libyan Model’ on T.V., and many more mistakes of judgement [sic], gets fired because frankly, if I listened to him, we would be in World War Six by now, and goes out and IMMEDIATELY writes a nasty & untrue book. All Classified National Security. Who would do this?” the president wrote.

Some liberals have urged others to call these senators and ask them to impeach Donald Trump.

What’s stopping conservatives from urging them to do the opposite?

Trump Blasts Bolton Over ‘Nasty’ and ‘Untrue’ Book

On Wednesday, President Trump blasted John Bolton, calling his former national security adviser’s upcoming book that reportedly reveals details about the Ukraine affair at the center of the president’s impeachment “nasty” and “untrue.”

Trump said Bolton “begged” him for a job and that his former top aide made “mistakes of judgment” during his time at the White House, citing a television appearance in April 2018 in which Bolton said the administration was considering the “Libya model” for North Korea regarding negotiations over halting nuclear weapons development.

RELATED: Top Republican Leader Sends Stern Message to GOP Senators Thinking About Caving To Democrats On Impeachment

‘If I listened to him, we would be in World War Six by now’

Trump said Bolton was “fired because, frankly, if I listened to him, we would be in World War Six by now.”

Trump wondered why Bolton would write a book about his tenure “IMMEDIATELY” after his firing, calling it “nasty & untrue.”

These tweets come in the wake of a report by The New York Times that Bolton wrote in his upcoming book that Trump told him he wanted to continue to suspend U.S. aid to Ukraine until the country agreed to investigate former Vice President Joe Biden and his son Hunter Biden.

Trump has repeatedly denied Bolton’s accusation, as have allies of the president who continue to question Bolton’s credibility and motives.

Will Bolton Take the Stand?

Bolton’s revelations have had an impact on the ongoing Senate impeachment trial, raising pressure on Republicans to support calling him as a witness, something the White House would like to avoid.

The Hill reports, “The excerpt contradicts a key part of Trump’s defense — namely that he never tied security assistance for Ukraine to investigations, something House impeachment managers have alleged.”

“Trump’s defense attorneys addressed the issue during their opening arguments on Monday and Tuesday, with the president’s personal attorney Jay Sekulow citing Trump’s denial and urging senators to disregard the reported details of the manuscript by calling it ‘inadmissible,” noted The Hill. “Harvard law professor Alan Dershowitz also argued Monday evening that even if Bolton’s reported account were true, the allegations would not rise to the level of an impeachable offense.”

Trump to GOP: Don’t Get Played By Democrats

Trump tweeted about Bolton and the impeachment trial a few times late night on Tuesday and into Wednesday morning.

“Why didn’t John Bolton complain about this ‘nonsense’ a long time ago, when he was very publicly terminated. He said, not that it matters, NOTHING!” Trump wrote.

Trump continued, “Remember Republicans, the Democrats already had 17 witnesses, we were given NONE! Witnesses are up to the House, not up to the Senate,” the president tweeted. “Don’t let the Dems play you!”

Will Republicans let the Dems “play” them?

Stay tuned.
