Republican Afghanistan Veteran: Biden’s Actions Meet ‘Constitutional Definition Of Treason’

On Sunday, Republican Congressman Brian Mast, who fought in Afghanistan and now serves on the House Foreign Affairs Committee, said that President Joe Biden’s actions involving that country amount to “treason” and he should be removed from office.

Mast made his comments during an interview on Fox News.

RELATED: USA Today Issues Correction For ‘Fact-Check’ Of Biden Looking At His Watch During Service For Fallen Service Members

Mast: ‘Impeachment Is Absolutely Something That Should Be Considered’

Mast’s reasoning includes how quickly the Taliban retook Afghanistan, Biden being more worried about optics than national security, and also the controversial July phone call in which Biden reportedly encouraged Afghanistan’s president to change the perception of what was happening.

The president reportedly told the Afghan leader he didn’t care if the narrative he came up with was true or not.

Reuters reported that Biden said, “I need not tell you the perception around the world and in parts of Afghanistan, I believe, is that things are not going well in terms of the fight against the Taliban. And there is a need, whether it is true or not, there is a need to project a different picture.”

Mast believes some and perhaps all of these are impeachable offenses.

“Impeachment is absolutely something that should be considered,” Mast told Fox News. “I would say no less than 10,000 counts of reckless endangerment, all of the American lives over there that’s the minimum, which is actually a real crime.”

Mast continued, “Beyond that, as I’ve said already, I think we absolutely need to look at what is the truth about this phone call with the former Afghan president.”

“We know for a fact that the Taliban is the sworn enemy of the United States of America,” Mast added. “We are still in the midst of the war on terror, and as I said, I would absolutely consider the manipulation of intelligence, giving aid and comfort to the enemy, all three of those things are part of what meets the constitutional definition of treason.”

Mast then focused specifically on Biden and what kind of leader Mast thinks he is.

“You look at President Biden, and I would say these two things about him,” Mast said. “He is hollow. His decisions are empty. They are void of wisdom in their entirety and across the board, we see a naïveté to the aggressors he’s dealing with.”

RELATED: Afghanistan Shows Biden To Be A Weak And Failed President

Mast: Biden’s Statements Are ‘Schizophrenic’

The Republican congressman continued, “Maybe there is an element of dementia there that we might hear about in years to come. But I would say at a minimum, this man appears to be schizophrenic with the statements that he’s making in front of one camera and the way that they’re directly changing in front of a camera on a different day or the day after that or what his members of his cabinet are saying.”

“There’s definitely got to be schizophrenia there,” Mast finished.

MAGA Rep. Boebert Calls For Biden And Harris Impeachment, Pelosi To Be Removed Over Afghanistan Withdrawal

Pro-Trump Representative Lauren Boebert went scorched earth during a press conference, calling for the impeachment of President Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris over the chaotic withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan.

Boebert (R-CO), speaking on Tuesday with the House Freedom Caucus, called for the Commander-in-Chief’s impeachment.

But she also sought impeachment for Harris, who she believes has failed the American people by not invoking the 25th Amendment.

“The blame starts at the top with Biden and his hand-picked Vice President who bragged that she was right there making the same bad decisions,” declared Boebert.

“And if not for her own dereliction of duty, she should be impeached for not demanding we invoke the 25th amendment,” the fiery right-wing Republican added.

“It is time for action. Impeach Biden. Impeach Kamala Harris.”

Boebert Calls For Accountability Down The Line

In addition to calling for President Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris’ impeachment, Boebert went after a member of the Cabinet, Secretary of State Antony Blinken.

She also expressed hope that the House would vote to remove Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

“It is time for action … impeach Biden impeach Kamala Harris, and throw in the Secretary of State, if you could get him back from vacation, take a vote to vacate the chair to get Nancy Pelosi the heck out of here,” she railed.

The 25th Amendment to the Constitution allows the vice president and members of the cabinet to vote to remove a president who they deem unable to fulfill their duties.

Nobody Has Been Fired Or Punished Over Afghanistan Withdrawal

Remarkably, nobody in the administration has paid the price over the botched Afghanistan withdrawal which culminated in a terrorist attack that claimed the lives of 13 U.S. service members and roughly 200 Afghans, and left Americans behind.

And why would they, with an agitated and defensive President Biden hardly able to contain his excitement in declaring the mission an “extraordinary success” in remarks Tuesday?

The Washington Post earlier this week reported that some Democrats were privately expressing their concerns about the handling of the Afghanistan crisis and would like to see top Biden administration officials fired over the debacle.

“In private discussions, some House Democrats have raised the prospect of whether Secretary of State Antony Blinken and national security adviser Jake Sullivan — two of Biden’s most trusted aides — should lose their jobs,” the Post revealed.

That doesn’t appear to be happening any time soon.

As for the 25th Amendment talk, Kathy McCollum, the grieving mother of United States Marine Rylee McCollum, who was killed in last week’s suicide bombing is likely to support the move.

McCollum called President Biden’s Afghanistan withdrawal an “unnecessary debacle.”

“I never thought in a million years that (my son) would die for nothing. For nothing,” she anguished. “Because a feckless dementia-ridden piece of crap wanted a photo-op on Sept. 11, that’s what kills me.”

When Reporters Ask About Abandoned Americans, Secretary Of State Blinken Turns Back And Walks Away

Secretary of State Antony Blinken’s press briefing on Afghanistan on Monday ended with him turning his back and walking away when reporters began asking about the hundreds of American citizens that have been left behind in Afghanistan.

Blinken had given a nearly 20 minute speech about the status of the withdrawal.

As he left, a reporter said, “Did this administration break its word that no American would be left behind?”

Blinken didn’t answer any questions, instead he left the room.

Blinken: ‘We Will Hold The Taliban To Its Pledge To Let People Freely Depart Afghanistan’

During his speech, Blinken said that the Biden administration would “lead with our diplomacy” and work with the Taliban to get Americans still in the country home.

“We will continue our relentless efforts to help Americans, foreign nationals and Afghans leave Afghanistan if they choose. Our commitment to them holds no deadline.”

The Secretary of State said, “We will hold the Taliban to its pledge to let people freely depart Afghanistan.”

RELATED: Report: American University Students In Afghanistan ‘Terrified’ After Having A List Of Their Names Given To Taliban

“The Taliban is committed to let anyone with proper documents leave the country in a safe and orderly manner,” Blinken said. “They said this privately and publicly many times.”

“On Friday, a senior Taliban official said it again on television and radio,” he added. “And I quote, ‘any Afghans may leave the country, including those who work for Americans if they want and for whatever reason there may be.’”

“Here, too, we will hold them accountable to that commitment,” he added. “But while we have expectations of the Taliban, that doesn’t mean we will rely on the Taliban.”

Americans Left Behind

The Political Insider reported that although “President Joe Biden originally promised that the U.S. would ‘stay’ in Afghanistan until every American was evacuated,” many still remain in the country.

“On Monday, Marine Corps Gen. Kenneth F. McKenzie Jr. announced that the last of the U.S. troops stationed at the Kabul airport had left,” The Political Insider noted. “And hundreds of Americans were left behind.”

For what many consider a dereliction of duty, House Republicans filed articles of impeachment against Blinken on Thursday.

The Articles read, “Secretary Blinken has failed to faithfully uphold his oath and has instead presided over a reckless abandonment of our nation’s interests, security, and values in his role in the withdrawal of American forces and diplomatic assets from Afghanistan.”

Report: Some Democrats Want Biden Administration Officials Fired Over Afghanistan Debacle

The Washington Post is reporting that some Democrats are privately expressing their concerns about the handling of the Afghanistan crisis and would like to see top Biden administration officials fired over the debacle.

“In private discussions, some House Democrats have raised the prospect of whether Secretary of State Antony Blinken and national security adviser Jake Sullivan — two of Biden’s most trusted aides — should lose their jobs,” the Post revealed this past weekend.

Seems like a reasonable proposition considering the botched withdrawal of US forces in Afghanistan, culminating with last week’s suicide bombing which claimed the lives of 13 American soldiers and as many as 170 civilians.

That is, until you start digging a little deeper into the article where you find the true reason they’d like to see Blinken and Sullivan fired over what transpired in Afghanistan.

RELATED: Psaki Responds To Calls For Biden’s Resignation: ‘Not A Day For Politics’

Why Do They Want Them Fired Over Afghanistan?

Remarkably, the Washington Post doesn’t try very hard to sugar coat why some Democrats want to see Blinken and Sullivan fired over Afghanistan.

It’s not for accountability or some semblance of justice for the 13 service members who unnecessarily lost their lives.

It’s the Democrat agenda they care about.

Take a listen to John Jackson, the chairman of the DeKalb County Democrats in Georgia.

He tells the Washington Post, “I just worry about his ability to achieve his agenda.”

Really? That’s his concern as 13 flag-draped coffins were sent home from the scene in Afghanistan over the weekend?

It sure seems like that’s the main concern as the Post goes on to suggest Democrats are simply hoping to “weather the storm” with the negative Afghanistan news so they can focus on ‘more important’ things. Things like infrastructure and their social agenda.

“They see positive developments on the horizon if they can weather the storm over Afghanistan,” the Post writes, “such as the prospect of signing legislation making historic investments in roads, bridges and social programs.”

Nobody Held Accountable

As it stands, the only person held accountable for the tragic turn of events in Afghanistan has been Lt. Col. Stuart Scheller who was reportedly relieved of duty for daring to demand accountability from military leaders following the terror attack.

Scheller had posted a viral video demanding answers.

“I’m not making this video because it is potentially an emotional time,” he said. “I’m making it because I have a growing discontent and contempt with my perceived ineptitude at the foreign policy level. I want to specifically ask some questions to some of my senior leaders.”

On Friday, House Reps. Ralph Norman (R-SC) and Andy Harris (R-MD) introduced articles of impeachment against Blinken citing “failures in leadership over [the] Afghanistan situation.”

It’s unclear why they introduced the articles against a Cabinet Secretary rather than the Commander-in-Chief, Joe Biden.

There have been calls for President Biden himself to resign over what has transpired in Afghanistan, an idea White House press secretary Jen Psaki swatted away by saying it is “not a day for politics.”

Not a day for politics – and yet, Democrats want Blinken and Sullivan fired over Afghanistan in part because of how it reflects on their party politically.

The Post describes President Biden as having a “devastating month of his tenure in office” in August and said such crises as the resurgent pandemic and the Afghanistan mission have “sent waves of anger and worry through his party as his poll numbers decline.”

If only Democrats could get just as angry over the coffins of young American soldiers being sent home from faraway lands.

Kinzinger Refuses To Call For Biden To Resign Or Be Impeached Over ‘Bad Decision’ On Afghanistan

Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-IL) went on CNN on Friday to push back at calls from his colleagues that President Joe Biden resign or be impeached over the disaster in Afghanistan.

Kinzinger Defends Biden

Despite Biden’s mishandling of the crisis that led to thirteen U.S. service members being killed in a terror attack in Kabul on Thursday, Kinzinger said he won’t be calling for Biden to resign or be impeached. It should be noted that Kinzinger voted in favor of impeaching former President Donald Trump over the Capitol riot earlier this year.

“I do believe some people on [Biden’s] national security team should resign. That’s up to them, and it’s up to him. But no, I mean, look, we impeach presidents for high crimes and misdemeanors. This is a very bad decision,” Kinzinger explained. “Other presidents have made bad decisions, but I’m not going to call on the president to resign for this nor to be impeached.”

“Look, we need some stability in our government, and we’ve gotten to this back and forth where it’s just constant battle of power, who can take over next year, instead of looking at this country needs some real help,” he added. “We need actually grown-up politics for once and not just kind of next-day news cycle politics.”

Kinzinger Blames Trump

Earlier this week, Kinzinger tried to blame Trump for the disaster in Afghanistan.

“What breaks my heart probably more than anything on a political side is that America is being displayed out in the world and embarrassed in the world, and our American allies are saying America looks weak,” Kinzinger said

“Honestly, the Republicans are putting out talking points to make Biden look bad. The Democrats are putting out talking points to the administration — the past administration,” he stated. “They are both responsible. We’re so tribalistic as a country. It’s hard to imagine a Republican saying everybody is responsible.”

Full Story: Kinzinger Says Trump Got ‘Rolled’ By The Taliban – ‘Set This Up To Fail’ In Afghanistan

“Let’s keep in mind, Mike Pompeo met with the Taliban as Donald Trump was publicly saying we have to get out of Afghanistan at all costs, it’s not worth it,” he added. “Mike Pompeo meets with the Taliban and tries to negotiate something.”

“By the way, they end up getting rolled harder than ever, almost as hard as Neville Chamberlain because they knew what the outcome was,” Kinzinger said. “They set this up to fail but always, of course, Joe Biden could have easily turned this around and instead used it as the excuse to get out. Both parties have failed the American people.”

Jen Psaki tells Fox News’ Doocy to stop being a part of the problem and help with the solution

The traditional media seems to have a short memory, but no one has a shorter memory than conservative media. Seizing on the decades-long foreign policy disaster that is Afghanistan, conservatives are trying their darndest to blame President Biden’s administration for being the people who finally picked up the corrupt and incompetent can that has been kicked down the road for three administrations now. The issues that the United States and its allies face now that we have withdrawn from our 20-year occupation of Afghanistan are messy. They fall at the feet of President George W. Bush, Vice President Dick Cheney, “architect” of the Afghanistan invasion Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld, Deputy Secretary of Defense Paul Wolfowitz, and Secretary of State Colin Powell.

But regardless of our foreign policy’s pedigree, Joe Biden is the president now. And not unlike the South American caravans of yesteryear, conservative outlets play video of the human suffering and confusion that surrounds Afghanistan’s changing power dynamics and jack their fear and warmongering volume knobs way up. The hope is that the sounds coming from the Middle East and will drown out the wails of thousands of Americans suffering from a pandemic that has continued to rage out of control, due in no small part to conservative policy impotence. Enter Peter Doocy. Like his father Steve Doocy, the Fox News legacy hire’s job consists of coming up with undercooked headline premises and then asking a question of press secretary Jen Psaki, followed up by an even more fact-free Republican-talking point follow up that he will turn into whatever it is he’s going to report back to Fox News.

Press secretary Psaki has made it a practice to pleasantly humiliate Doocy at virtually every press briefing. Monday was no different.

Doocy began by pointing out that the images Fox News, OAN, CNN and others are showing the world right now of the Taliban include them sporting American weaponry and military clothing. Doocy and others have clearly forgotten that this move by the Biden administration is based on the deal Donald Trump cut with the Taliban. The fact that the U.S. withdrawal was very quickly followed by proof that the last 20 years didn’t seem to change anything in regard to regimes is a failure of our military, our intelligence apparatus, the administrations that allowed it to continue, and the traditional media that generates the recent mania. The last group on that list spent most of the past 20 years of our occupation not covering Afghanistan or investigating how poorly we were doing over there for two decades.

And now, after an administration begins to complete the deal the previous Republican administration struck, and after an administration tries to pick up the pieces of a disaster that was started 20 years ago by one of the worst foreign policy initiatives the planet has ever seen, conservatives want to try and pin some kind of trash ‘soft on terrorism’ label to the Biden administration’s lapel.

On Monday, Peter Doocy, doing his continuously pathetic part, attempted to angle his followup to Psaki by saying that the criticisms of President Biden were due to the fact that Americans have been “stranded” in Afghanistan. So far, the administration has estimated that there were somewhere between 10,000 and 15,000 U.S. citizens in Afghanistan the day before the Taliban took control of the capital city of Kabul. This number does not include the many more Afghans who allied themselves over the past 20 years with the U.S. forces, many of whom are also trying to leave the country fearing reprisal from the Taliban. The New York Times reported that as of Saturday, U.S. military claim they have evacuated “about 2,500 Americans” The administration says that including allied Afghans, just about 28,000 people have been flown out of the country.

On Monday, officials told NBC news that the number of people evacuated over the weekend brought up the total number to 37,000. Psaki said Doocy’s use of the term “stranded” was “irresponsible,” saying that the Biden administration has no plans to just turn around now and pretend that there aren’t people that still need to leave Afghanistan. It’s an important distinction that applies not only to Peter Doocy and Fox News but to most of the media outlets in our country. Our foreign policy can only be level-headed if we report on it with some factual and critical understanding of what is happening.

"I am just calling you out for saying we are stranding Americans in Afghanistan when we have been very clear that we are not leaving Americans who want to return home. We are going to bring them home. And I think that’s important for the American public to hear,” Psaki said. You cannot have it both ways. It is fine to criticize the president for seemingly not knowing how quickly the Taliban would take control of the capital. If you want to criticize the last president for making a deal that put an accelerant on the chances for heightened bloodshed if the U.S. didn’t leave the country when Biden did, you can criticize that. If Peter Doocy wants to investigate our military and the trillions of dollars we have spent in Afghanistan setting up a government that seems to have easily been toppled, please go ahead.

But we are not trying to re-invade and occupy Afghanistan right away; and attempting to turn this transition into an instant humanitarian crisis belies not only the facts but jeopardizes countless peoples’ lives on the ground in Afghanistan.

Jen Psaki calls out Peter Doocy for falsely claiming that Biden is stranding Americans in Afghanistan, "I am calling you out for saying we are stranding Americans in Afghanistan we have been very clear that we are not leaving Americans who want to return home." pic.twitter.com/HzKZSF5G0s

Majority Of Americans Disapprove Of Biden’s Afghanistan Disaster

According to a new poll, a large majority of Americans disapprove of how President Joe Biden has handled the U.S. military withdrawal from Afghanistan.

A withdrawal in which as many 15,000 Americans were left behind, and billions of dollars of U.S. military equipment was left to fall into the hands of the Taliban.

The poll was conducted Aug. 14-15 among 1,084 likely voters.

RELATED: MSNBC’s Nicolle Wallace Claims Republicans Silent About Capitol Riot ‘Shouldn’t Be At The Table’ For Homeland Security

69 Percent Disapprove Of Biden’s Actions

The Trafalgar Group and Convention of States Action released a survey that found that 69 percent of polled Americans disapprove of Biden’s handling of the U.S.’s military presence in Afghanistan.

23 percent approved.

As for party breakdowns, 48 percent of Democrats disapprove of Biden’s Afghanistan policies, and almost 40 percent approve.

When it came to Republicans, that gap was predictably wider.

Nearly 89 percent disapprove of Biden’s actions as president in Afghanistan.

Only 7 percent approved.

On the companies conducting the survey, The Hill reported, “The Trafalgar Group was the only nonpartisan polling company to predict former President Trump would win Pennsylvania and Michigan in 2016, but since then has faced some criticism over its methodology.”

The survey was conducted as the Taliban took over the Afghanistan capitol of Kabul.

The Hill noted, “Taliban fighters stepped up their military offensive in recent weeks as the U.S. troop withdrawal neared its end. President Biden previously said the mission in Afghanistan would wrap up by the end of this month.”

Team Biden Is Defending Afghanistan Policies

“Politicians in Washington are now debating what went wrong with the U.S. withdrawal, and who is to blame for the rapidly deteriorating situation,” the outlet reported.

Republicans have been very critical of Biden for not having a better exit strategy in place and also for not following the same withdrawal outline that former President Donald Trump had in place beforehand.

The Biden administration is defending its actions.

The Hill reported, “Secretary of State Antony Blinken on Sunday argued that the Taliban takeover of Afghanistan would have occurred even if U.S. forces remained deployed in the region.”

That’s arguably true. But the Biden administration has yet to excuse, or even explain, why they left behind thousands of Americans and allowed to so much military materiel to fall into enemy hands.

Dan Crenshaw Slams Biden For Being ‘Utterly Incompetent’ On Afghanistan – ‘Owes The American People A Lot Of Explanations’

Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-TX) went on Fox News on Wednesday to slam President Joe Biden for his handling of the U.S. troops’ withdrawal from Afghanistan.

The Navy SEAL and combat veteran is less than pleased with what is happening.

Crenshaw Wants An Explanation

Crenshaw went so far as to say that Biden has been “utterly incompetent” when it comes to Afghanistan, and that he has behaved the opposite of how President Donald Trump would have. The Republican also said that the “State Department really botched this” and the “Secretary of State owes the American people a lot of explanations.”

RELATED: Marjorie Taylor Greene Readying Articles Of Impeachment For Biden Over Afghanistan Fiasco

“How Biden did this is so utterly incompetent, and my office has been in touch with sources who are very close to the operation. And this is a State Department-led operation. OK? The State Department overruled DoD,” Crenshaw said. “When DoD wanted to make Bagram the last place where we would have troops — the State Department overruled them. It was a foolish mistake because Bagram can hold a lot more aircraft, for instance, than Kabul.”

“They didn’t like how it would look to abandon Kabul before Bagram,” he added when asked why things were handled this way.

“And here’s another thing the State Department never did: They never even built a contingency plan to take people out of the embassy. They were planning on just staying even though conditions on the ground were getting worse and worse. … By Saturday they had no plans to leave. This is what we’re hearing from insiders. The Secretary of State owes the American people a lot of explanations for this. Of course, the buck stops with Biden. Biden made all of these decisions, and it’s reprehensible, but the State Department really botched this.”

Crenshaw: World More Dangerous

Crenshaw had said earlier in the week that Biden’s “incompetence” has led to the Taliban’s takeover, which means the world is now “a lot more dangerous.”

“It just blows my mind that this is where we’ve come to,” Crenshaw told Fox News. “I’ve been beating this drum for a long time trying to explain to people that you send people like me over there so that you fight them there instead of here.”

“There’s a lot of intelligence that demonstrates that the people there do want to commit terrorist attacks here on the homeland. They always have,” he continued. “This is what they do. They hate Western civilization.”

MCNBC’s Nicole Wallace Attacks Tucker Carlson And Laura Ingraham For ‘Racist Fear Mongering’ On Afghan Refugees

MSNBC host Nicolle Wallace, who previously worked for George W. Bush, attacked Fox News Channel hosts Tucker Carlson and Laura Ingraham for what she described as their “racist fear mongering” about Afghan refugees.

Wallace Ties Fox To ‘White Nationalism’

“Some members of the right-wing media including some of the same people who downplay or outright defend the white nationalists and domestic violent extremists who attacked the Capitol January 6 are using this moment, right now to spread misinformation and engage in what can only be described as racist fear mongering,” Wallace said, according to Mediaite.

“Take a listen to what two of Fox’s most watched host had to say on this topic.”

RELATED: Biden Says He Doesn’t Know How Afghanistan Withdrawal Could Have Been Handled Better

Wallace then played a video in which Ingraham said, “Is it really our responsibility to welcome thousands of potentially unvetted refugees from Afghanistan? All day we’ve heard phrases like ‘we promise them.’ Who did? Did you?”

Carlson was then showed saying, “If history is any guide and it’s always a guide, we will see many refugees from Afghanistan resettle in our country in the coming months probably in your neighborhood and over the next decade that number may swell to the millions. First we invade and then we’re invaded.”

Wallace Attacks Fox News

Wallace chimed back in at that point to double down in her attack on the Fox News hosts.

“The opposite is true,” she said. “These are people that had to make a choice. So far away from here, so far away from the cozy climate-controlled studios at Fox News headquarters. In Afghanistan they had to choose between America and their country, and the Taliban, and they chose us, from all the way over there. The notion that their sort of horrific fear mongering and racism doesn’t carve out the men and women in Afghanistan who kept our soldiers alive for two decades is a new level of reprehensible.”

DEVELOPING: Taliban Claims it Shot Down U.S. Air Force Plane Carrying CIA Officials in Afghanistan

By LifeZette | January 27, 2020

The Taliban has just taken responsibility, claiming they shot down a United States Air Force plane in Afghanistan which they say was carrying ‘high-ranking’ CIA officers.

The Daily Star reported that the aircraft was shot down on Monday afternoon in the Ghazni province of the Middle Eastern nation.

Originally, it was claimed by local officials that the plane was a Boeing 737-400 jet belonging to Ariana Airlines that was carrying 83 people, but photos clearly showed that the aircraft had a U.S. Air Forces logo.

This caused the U.S. military to launch an investigation into the incident, and the Taliban has since admitted that they shot down the plane, which was in fact a U.S. Air Force Bombardier E-11A.

According to the The Daily Star, a Taliban spokesman said in a statement that everyone onboard the plane was killed, and that passengers included high-ranking CIA officers.

Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid added that “lots” of U.S. service members were killed in the crash, but since the terrorist group is known to exaggerate when it comes to casualty figures, it is unknown at this time just if the statement is true or not.

RELATED: Rocket Strikes U.S. Embassy in Baghdad

The plane reportedly came down in the mountainous Deh Yak district just 10km (6.2 miles) from a U.S. military base at around 1:15pm local time.

The area where the plane crashed is controlled by the Taliban, which made it difficult for Afghan forces to reach the crash site earlier.

The U.S. Air Force has yet to officially commented on this situation.

“We are aware of the reports and are investigating,” an official with the U.S. Defense Department told Military Times. “At this point, we cannot confirm it is a DOD [Department of Defense] asset.”

Ghazni police commander Ahmed Khalid Wardak told the BBC that there is currently no information available about casualties, as it is unknown just how many people were onboard the plane at the time of the crash.
