Schumer Promises Quick Impeachment Trial, A Lot Of Witnesses Not Necessary

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer indicated President Trump’s impeachment trial would be “quick” adding no decision has been made on the need for witnesses.

Schumer (D-NY) made the comments during an interview with MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow.

“The trial will be done in a way that is fair but … relatively quickly,” he said.

Schumer added, “I don’t think there’s a need for a whole lot of witnesses,” insisting the trial will be “fair.”

The Hill reports that Schumer “added that no decision had been made on whether or not there would be witnesses,” but his call for a swift process indicates he “didn’t think many witnesses are needed.”

Chuck Schumer Promises Quick Impeachment Trial

President Trump’s first Senate impeachment trial took just 21 days. Bill Clinton’s impeachment trial lasted 36 days.

But Democrats have argued the second Trump impeachment would be quicker due to the riots he allegedly incited having played out in real-time in public.

Or, perhaps it indicates they have less proof of a high crime or misdemeanor than they did with the first minimal-evidence impeachment effort.

Schumer has indicated a desire to move quickly due to concerns that the impeachment trial would interfere with President Biden implementing his 100-day agenda.

“We have so much else to do,” he lamented.

Biden Says Dems Don’t Have Enough Votes

At the very moment the historic article of impeachment was being delivered to the Senate, President Biden indicated the trial would likely not lead to a conviction because Democrats simply don’t have the votes.

Biden, according to CNN, said he doesn’t believe 17 Republican senators – the number necessary to lead to a successful effort by Nancy Pelosi’s manager – will vote to convict Trump.

“The Senate has changed since I was there, but it hasn’t changed that much,” Biden said.

While some Republicans have indicated they might join the effort to convict, several others have said the move would be disastrous for the GOP.

Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) voiced his opinion that having GOP leadership move forward with Trump’s impeachment would be a “huge mistake” and would “destroy” the Republican Party.

Other senators warned Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) that he “could face backlash if he votes to convict Trump.”

Still, Biden said the trial “has to happen” and that there would be “a worse effect if it didn’t happen.”

Poll: Republican Voters Are Siding With Trump Over Mitch McConnell

A new poll from Axios-Ipsos shows Republicans are siding with President Trump over Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, who signaled support of a second impeachment.

The numbers are actually quite astounding.

The poll was conducted during the early part of this week – when impeachment discussions were in full swing, and Democrats and the mainstream media were assailing the President for allegedly having incited an insurrection involving white supremacists at the Capitol.

“Republicans across the U.S. are siding with President Trump over Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell — big time,” Axios writes.

The results show a vast majority of Republicans do not hold Trump responsible for the Capitol riots, believe he has a right to challenge the election, and still support him, with Trump supporters even sticking with him as their preferred nominee in 2024.

The GOP Is Still Trump’s Party, Not Mitch McConnell’s – Poll

The Axios report is remarkable considering the fact that President Trump was a victim of character assassination by the usual suspects  – the Democrat media – over the last several days, but also by Republican lawmakers.

Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) accused the President of having “summoned this mob, assembled the mob, and lit the flame of this attack” in describing his actions leading up to the Capitol riots.

“There has never been a greater betrayal by a President of the United States of his office and his oath to the Constitution,” she dramatized.

Mitch McConnell (R-KY) meanwhile, reportedly viewed the Democrats’ effort to impeach the president as a means to “help rid the Republican Party of Trump and his movement.”

And yet, 64 percent of Republicans said they support Trump’s recent behavior, 57 percent of Republicans said he should be the 2024 GOP candidate, and just 17 percent think he should be removed from office.

Traditional Republicans Are in Trouble

Cowardice by some Republicans in siding with Democrats appears to be backfiring as the poll clearly shows support for Trump and not squishy lawmakers like Mitch McConnell.

McConnell, despite his reported support for ridding the party of the President and his supporters, has yet to commit to a vote on conviction in the Senate.

But he’s clearly got a voter problem.

“The survey shows why Trump could run again in 2024 (and possibly win) if he isn’t convicted — or banned from holding federal office — by the Senate,” Axios reports.

“It also shows the peril and opportunity for institutionalists like McConnell trying to reclaim the GOP.”

Fox News personality Tucker Carlson recently commented on what impeachment would mean for the President.

“By impeaching the president during his final week in office, Congress will not succeed in discrediting Trump among Republican voters,” he cautioned. “In fact, it will enhance Donald Trump among Republican voters. Obviously!”

Axios’ report and polling seem to confirm Carlson’s assessment.

Judd Apatow Outrageously Says President Trump ‘Normalized Being Insane’

Hollywood director Judd Apatow launched yet another ridiculously outrageous attack on President Donald Trump, this time blaming the tens of thousands of deaths from coronavirus on him and all Republicans.

“He normalized being insane but we will vote Trump and all Republicans out in November,” the “40-Year-Old Virgin” director tweeted on Monday. “They care more about their power than helping people. None stand up and say the President is inept and that is a dereliction of duty. As a party they are responsible for thousands of deaths.”

Apatow is one of many Hollywood stars who have been blaming COVID-19 deaths on Trump and his fellow Republicans despite the fact that the illness originated in China and has killed thousands of people all over the world.

I think [the Senate Majority Leader] and all of these politicians should be prosecuted when this is done for the lies which cost thousands of deaths,” Apatow said after Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) called out Democrats for focusing on impeachment while Trump was dealing with the threat of coronavirus. “He knows Trump is a con man who lied to everyone to delay bad news and that led to thousands of additional deaths. They are all murderers.”

Apatow has spent years relentlessly attacking Trump in the most obscene ways possible. “He’s a Nazi. He wants no judicial process. He kidnapped children and commits acts of violence for political gain and to support his racist views,” Apatow said of him in 2018. “He admires violent dictators. Trump is a Nazi. The debate is over. Soon we will have proof he is a Nazi supported by the Russians.”

It takes a special level of narcissism to think that directing comedies like “Knocked Up” makes you an expert on politics. Apatow doesn’t realize that the more he tweets about Trump, the more he shows that he’s just another Hollywood elitist who has lost all touch with reality. As President Trump himself would say: SAD!

Judd Apatow Calls For President Trump And Republicans To Be Prosecuted Because ‘They Are All Murderers’

Hollywood writer and director Judd Apatow, who is known for movies like “40 Year-Old Virgin,” just called for President Donald Trump and all Republicans to be arrested and prosecuted because “they are all murderers” who are responsible for “thousands of [coronavirus] deaths.”

Apatow tweeted this in response to comments that Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) made on Tuesday, when he told “The Hugh Hewitt Show” that efforts made by Democrats to impeach Trump distracted everyone from the impending threat of coronavirus.

“It came up while we were tied down in the impeachment trial,” McConnell said, according to The Hill. “And I think it diverted the attention of the government because everything every day was all about impeachment.”

This was enough to “trigger” Apatow, who argued for McConnell and his fellow Republicans to be arrested and prosecuted, although he did not specify exactly for what.

“I think [the Senate Majority Leader] and all of these politicians should be prosecuted when this is done for the lies which cost thousands of deaths,” Apatow wrote. “He knows Trump is a con man who lied to everyone to delay bad news and that led to thousands of additional deaths. They are all murderers.”

This is far from the first time that Apatow has called President Trump a murderer. Last summer, he likened Trump’s skepticism over climate change to him “murdering our children.”

Like many liberals, Apatow has also compared President Trump to Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler. “He’s a Nazi. He wants no judicial process. He kidnapped children and commits acts of violence for political gain and to support his racist views,” he said back in 2018. “He admires violent dictators. Trump is a Nazi. The debate is over. Soon we will have proof he is a Nazi supported by the Russians.”

There is no limit to what liberals like Apatow will resort to when it comes to bashing Trump. We should be putting any differences aside right now and rallying behind the president while he tries to lead us through this pandemic. But once again, the Left would rather see our country fail than see Trump succeed. As the president himself would say, SAD!
