Monica Lewinsky: Bill Clinton Should ‘Want To Apologize’ For His Role In Affair

Monica Lewinsky, the political world’s most famous intern, said former President Bill Clinton “should want to apologize” for his role in their legendary affair, but indicated she’s moved on regardless.

Lewinsky and the scandal that rocked the political world in the 1990s will be the subject of a dramatization of those events for FX, called “American Crime Story: Impeachment.”

“Do you ever wish that you could speak to him?” asked ‘Today’ show host Savannah Guthrie. “Do you feel like he owes you an apology after all these years?”

Lewinsky, there to promote the new crime series, explained that she no longer has a need for “resolution,” something she’s “very grateful” for.

“I don’t need it,” she replied. “He should want to apologize, um, in the same way that I want to apologize any chance I get to people that I’ve hurt and my actions have hurt.”

Lewinsky Discusses Upcoming TV Show

Monica Lewinsky, in discussing the ‘crime story’ project she is both a producer for and subject of, said the public will see some details of behavior she regrets and finds “cringeworthy.”

“I’ve really worn two hats in this project, as a producer, I’m very proud of the project. But as a subject, I’m nervous,” she explained to Guthrie.

“I’m nervous for people to see some of the worst moments of my life and a lot of behavior that I regret. If you remember your 20s, not that long ago, it’s pretty cringeworthy.”

If you’re too young to remember, Lewinsky had a politically earth-shattering affair with former President Clinton in the ’90s, a relationship which would lead to his impeachment for perjury and obstruction of justice.

The affair between Clinton and Lewinsky was widely seen as an abuse of power on the part of the then-President, due to their career positions and age difference.

Clinton was 49 at the time, Lewinsky just 22.

Clinton: I Don’t Owe Her An Apology

Former President Bill Clinton has said he doesn’t owe Monica Lewsinky a personal apology over their affair because he has made his feelings clear through public statements.

On the same ‘Today’ show back in 2018, as the #MeToo movement was heating up, Clinton was asked if he owed her a direct apology for his actions.

“No, I do — I do not,” Clinton responded. “I’ve never talked to her. But I did say, publicly, on more than one occasion, that I was sorry. That’s very different. The apology was public.”

In an interview with CBS’s “Sunday Morning” a few months later, Clinton’s wife, Hillary, was asked if he should have stepped down amidst the scandal.

“Absolutely not,” she replied.

“It wasn’t an abuse of power?” a reporter asked, to which she replied: “No. No.”

The former President was also accused of multiple infidelities, sexual assaults, and even rape by Juanita Broaddrick, a former nursing home owner.

The series highlighting Monica Lewinsky and Clinton’s affair is set to premier Tuesday on FX.

Juanita Broaddrick Says Tara Reade’s Joe Biden Assault Allegation Gives Her Déjà Vu: ‘I Believe Her’

Juanita Broaddrick has long claimed that Bill Clinton raped her in 1978, and she now sees similarities with Tara Reade’s allegations against Joe Biden.

Both women accused high profile national Democratic leaders of sexual crimes only to see their stories dismissed for the most part by the mainstream media. According to Broaddrick, this prompted her to contact Reade a few weeks ago.

Broaddrick: ‘This is a very, very believable woman’

“I just told her, any time she needed anything or wanted to talk, to call me and she almost immediately called me,” Broaddrick told Fox News. “I believe her. I spoke with her on the phone, we spoke at length… this is a very, very believable woman.”

Broaddrick plans to stay in touch with Reade and said that they “text every few days.” Broaddrick admits Reade’s story brought back “too many bad memories” about her tragic history.

In 1998, Broaddrick told NBC’s “Dateline” that Bill Clinton had sexually assaulted her in 1978. NBC chose not to air the story until after the Senate acquitted President Clinton during his impeachment trial in February 1999.

Similarly, Reade has blasted CNN and The New York Times for waiting so long to acknowledge and report her claims against Biden.

“The mainstream media is so liberal and they’re going to support anybody that’s running against a Republican. They’re going to be there, regardless of what’s been brought up about that person,” Broaddrick said, pointing to the hypocrisy of the media coverage of Christine Blasey Ford, who accused Brett Kavanaugh of sexual assault which became part of his Supreme Court confirmation hearings in 2018.

The Larry King 1993 Segment Raised the Stakes

“It’s got to get to the point that politics do not play a part in this,” Broaddrick said. “It just depends what side of the aisle they’re on. If they’re against Trump, they’re not going to come out for Tara Reade. And Tara Reade is not a Trump supporter.”

Broaddrick noted the new developments of Reade’s late mother calling in to “Larry King Live” in 1993 and alluding to Biden’s alleged assault against her daughter while working for the then-senator.

“She texted me after the Larry King thing came out and said, ‘Isn’t that great, my momma coming from the beyond,’” Broaddrick said. “My father died when I was 26 or 27, and I’ve always wondered what he would have done had he been alive when I was raped by Bill Clinton… I was his girl, he was so protective over me.”

Broaddrick feels that CNN and other mainstream outlets have only started covering Reade’s claims over the last few days because they now have no choice.

“Just like NBC was finally forced to play my ‘Dateline’ interview,” she said. “They did not want to play that but they waited until after the impeachment to run it.”

Broaddrick also addressed #MeToo originator and activist Alyssa Milano denying Reade’s claims before coming around somewhat recently.

“(Milano) came right out and, immediately, said this was suspicious and felt like Tara Reade was lying. And then she said Tara Reade needs to be heard because she got so much backlash, she said.

Broaddrick Blasts Hillary Clinton and Her Joe Biden Endorsement

Then Broaddrick turned to Hillary Clinton’s recent endorsement of presumed 2020 Democratic nominee Joe Biden.

“You knew that Hillary would probably come out for Biden, but the way that she did it expounding on his virtues was obscene,” Broaddrick said. “She must want to be the vice presidential nominee, no doubt, and I feel like this is just the road to it.”

Broaddrick joked that a Biden-Clinton ticket could use as its slogan, “Vote for Joe, he’s not as bad as Bill.”

Bill Clinton: I Had Sex With Monica Lewinsky to ‘Manage Anxieties’

In a new Hulu documentary, former President Bill Clinton said he had sex with White House intern Monica Lewinsky to manage his “anxieties.”

“Here’s Something That Will Take Your Mind Off it for a While”

The four-part documentary, “Hillary,” focuses on the life of former Secretary of State, starting with her exploration into student politics and the Goldwater campaign, and finishing with her crushing defeat to President Donald Trump in 2016. The documentary also includes a close look into the affair that Bill Clinton had with Monica Lewinsky, his intern at the White House during his 2nd term in office – the affair, and his reaction to it, resulted in his impeachment, becoming only the 2nd President to be impeached.

Bill Clinton told the documentary team that having the affair with Lewinsky was his way of relieving stress and anxieties as the leader of the free world.

“You feel like you’re staggering around, you’ve been in a 15 round prize fight that was extended to 30 rounds and here’s something that will take your mind off it for a while, that’s what happens,” Bill said, adding:

Because there, whatever life – not just me. Everybody’s life has pressures and disappointments, terrors, fears of whatever. Things I did to manage my anxieties for years. I’m a different, totally different person than I was, a lot of that stuff 20 years ago… Maybe it’s just getting older but I hope it was also going through a lot of this. But whatever, what I did was bad but it wasn’t like – how can I think about the most stupid thing I could and do it. It’s not a defense, it’s an explanation. I feel awful.

I Don’t Sympathise With Clinton!

In an interview in 2018, fomer President Clinton refused to apologise to Lewinsky for the affair, but this time he came closer.

“I feel terrible about the fact that Monica Lewinsky’s life was defined by it, unfairly I think,” he told the documentary team. “Over the years I’ve watched her trying to get a normal life back again, but you’ve got to decide how to define normal.”

I’ll tell you something Bill – I don’t define cheating on my wife as “normal,” or something that will “take my mind off” work! I wonder if Juanitta Broderick was just a stress reliever too? This documentary is clearly trying to make people sympathise with someone who has had multiple women allege he sexually assaulted and abused them, not to mention the number of corruption allegations against both Bill and Hillary. He’s the same old sleazebag he was back decades ago, and we shouldn’t forget it!
