Democratic presidential candidate Tulsi Gabbard is suing Hillary Clinton on charges of defamation. Last October Clinton referred to Gabbard as a “Russian asset” during an interview.
Aan excerpt from the lawsuit reads:
“Clinton lied about her perceived rival Tulsi Gabbard…She did so publicly, unambiguously, and with obvious malicious intent. Tulsi has been harmed by Clinton’s lies — and American democracy has suffered as well.”

The two have sparred publically over social media during Gabbard’s campaign. The day after Clinton’s interview remarks, Gabbard fired back on Facebook:
“Great! Thank you, Hillary Clinton. You, the queen of warmongers, embodiment of corruption, and personification of the rot that has sickened the Democratic Party for so long, have finally come out from behind the curtain.
From the day I announced my candidacy, there has been a concerted campaign to destroy my reputation. We wondered who was behind it and why. Now we know — it was always you, through your proxies and powerful allies in the corporate media and war machine, afraid of the threat I pose.
It’s now clear that this primary is between you and me. Don’t cowardly hide behind your proxies. Join the race directly.”

Gabbard has been described as a moderate Democrat, which for some had made her less favorable, while more favorable with others.
Hillary didn’t get elected in 2016, but that hasn’t stopped her from intervening in the 2020 election. On top of her remarks about Gabbard, she has also attacked her 2016 colleague, Bernie Sanders, calling his supporters “misogynistic.”
