Delusional Trump supporter denies coronavirus exists

Donald Trump’s handling of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, aka the coronavirus, has been terrible. Meanwhile, the Republican Party has lined up behind him to turn the whole affair into a partisan one. The Trump administration’s basic incompetence and the damage caused by GOP policies of cutting the CDC’s funding aside, the partisanship and rhetoric coming from the Republican Party have dire consequences. They include slowing down the process of getting emergency funding and dragging down the speed and efficacy of testing and diagnosing the true nature of the problem. But the biggest problem is the disinformation that results from turning medical experts’ fears into political footballs.

At a South Carolina rally last week, President Trump claimed that COVID-19 was a “hoax” being perpetrated by the Democratic Party. He analogized it with the impeachment probes and the Mueller investigations into his administration. Forget about the fact that, like COVID-19, the facts of Trump’s corruption are scientifically proven. Even if you believe Trump did nothing wrong and the Democratic Party is just trying to relitigate the 2016 election, COVID-19 is a virus that even world leaders have caught and are suffering from. But how dumb is the racist death cult following Donald Trump?

CNN did a report on Trump’s misinformation and its consequences on the MAGA elite. The report included an interview from NBC where Trump supporters, possibly tailgating at some sporting event or waiting outside of a rally, told the reporter that COVID-19 isn’t worrying them because it isn’t real.

REPORTER: You don't believe coronavirus exists?

WOMAN: I don't.

REPORTER: So the two people who have been reported to have died from it in Washington state you don't trust that that's true?

WOMAN: I don't trust anything the democrats do or say.

The Centers for Disease Control already said in no uncertain terms that the coronavirus is not just real, it is in the United States. That means that this woman not only sticks to the most right-wing media outlets, she only pays attention to her television in the moments that Trump is talking.

The clip below made me wash my hands, and I haven’t even gone anywhere today.

Obamacare lawsuit? What Obamacare lawsuit? Senate Republicans play dumb

It's a horrendous look for Republicans, in the middle of a potential national epidemic and global pandemic, that their party and their White House are going to tell the Supreme Court this fall that the Affordable Care Act is unconstitutional and should be destroyed. So it's no great surprise that Republican senators who have to face voters in November don't want to talk about it.

Asked by The Hill about their position on this lawsuit, they dodged and weaved. Freshman Iowa Sen. Joni Ernst is going to have a hard time making this answer work for the next eight months: "I'm not saying whether I support it or not. It's in the hands of the Supreme Court now, so we'll see," she said. Maybe she feels the need to tread lightly here—she does have a primary opponent. He's just "some dude," but apparently Ernst still isn't willing to go out on any kind of limb by saying she thinks affordable health care for people is good.

Please give $1 to our nominee fund to help Democrats end the Republican Senate majority.

Arizona's stand-in, Sen. Martha McSally, who is there by appointment filling the late John McCain's seat, is trying to use that hook from impeachment days—it's in the court now, it’s in a "judicial proceeding"—and she won't comment. As if the Supreme Court was hanging on the words of a fill-in senator it’s never heard of before to make its decision. That's about as pathetic a response as you can get. Even McSally's counterpart, the other just-filling-in-for-now senator, Kelly Loeffler from Georgia (who's only been there a couple of months), did better. Eventually. Stymied by the in-person question, she had her office follow up in an email. "Regardless of what the courts do or do not decide, there is no question Congress needs to address healthcare issues facing Americans," Loeffler's spokeswoman said, offering that the senator wants a bill that "lowers insurance costs" and "expands coverage options." Which the ACA does, of course, for most people. But she's new. How could she be expected to be prepared to speak intelligently about the one thing that has dominated electoral politics for 10 years?

Sen. Thom Tillis, a vulnerable Republican from North Carolina, also wouldn't defend the lawsuit or even give his position on it. "What I'm more focused on is how we get back to a rational discussion about protecting pre-existing conditions, the kinds of things that are potentially at risk that for the life of me I can't understand why anyone would be opposed to, providing some certainty by just voting those provisions into law independent of the lawsuit." None of us can understand why anyone would be opposed to protections for people with pre-existing conditions, so this legal challenge is kind of a mystery. Except for the part where Republican attorneys general and governors and the Republican president are saying they should be struck down by the court. That's something Tillis should have to answer for.

Steve Daines of Montana was nearly as bad as McSally. He just brushed the question off, saying, "We're going to be talking about a lot between now and next year." Which means nothing, considering they've been talking a lot about it for 10 years and have managed to do absolutely nothing. Well, not nothing, actually. Republicans held literally dozens of repeal votes in the House and also brought three lawsuits trying to destroy the law. Spoiler alert: They will not have a plan in 2021 if the Supreme Court invalidates the law. Perhaps the most pathetic of the lot is Colorado's Cory Gardner, who seems resigned to his losing fate and didn't even bother to respond to the question.

On the issue that flipped the House in 2018, and that is at the top of voters' minds in 2020, Senate Republicans still don't have any answers. But they've got several months to come up with something to say before the Supreme Court and the case are back in the news with the arguments in the case. Judging by past performance, they'll have nothing.

Hillary Clinton Pushes False Story that Trump Called Coronavirus a ‘Hoax’

March 5, 2020

Hillary Clinton appeared on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” last night to promote her upcoming Hulu documentary “Hillary.”

While on the show, she took the opportunity to push the false story that President Donald Trump called the coronavirus a “hoax.”

“I wish I could say I was surprised,” Clinton said when asked how the Trump administration has responded to the coronavirus outbreak.

“This is something that you can’t just insult or pretend is a hoax, despite how hard [President Trump’s] trying.”

“You really have to listen to people who actually know something,” the failed 2016 presidential candidate continued.

“There’s a terrible shortage of testing kits. They need to make sure state and local health departments, governors, mayors, and others, have the resources they need with hospitalization. There’s a lot of work to be done and if he will quit calling it a hoax and actually let the experts do their job, I think that’ll work out better.”

This comes as the media has been lying for days by claiming that Trump called coronavirus a “hoax,” which isn’t what he said at all. Politico was one of the first outlets to push this myth, publishing a story titled “Trump rallies his base to treat coronavirus as a ‘hoax.’”

“President Donald Trump on Friday night tried to cast the global outbreak of the coronavirus as a liberal conspiracy intended to undermine his first term, lumping it alongside impeachment and the Mueller investigation,” reporters Nancy Cook and Matthew Choi wrote.

In reality, Trump never called coronavirus a hoax. Instead, he called the Democrats’ efforts to politicize the virus a hoax.

“‘Hoax’ referring to the action that they take to try and pin this on somebody, because we’ve done such a good job,” Trump explained this week, according to Breitbart News. “The hoax is on them, not—I’m not talking about what’s happening here; I’m talking what they’re doing. That’s the hoax.”

Clinton was also lying when she claimed that the Trump administration is not doing enough to fight coronavirus. Dr. Marc Siegel, professor of medicine at New York University, argued this week that Trump has been doing more to fight coronavirus than previous presidents in his position.

RELATED: Coronavirus a bioweapon?

“I’ve been handling these emerging contagions for about 20 years now, and I have to tell you, I’ve never seen one handled better,” said Dr. Siegel.

It’s sad that Clinton is still not over her loss to Trump in the presidential election. One would think that after three years, she would have moved on with her life by now, but that is clearly not the case as she still enjoys speaking out against Trump like it’s her job.

Despite what Clinton and her fellow bitter liberals say, most Americans know that Trump has taken care of us over the past three years in a way that few other presidents would be able to. There’s no reason to doubt that Trump will overcome the coronavirus just like he’s overcome every other challenge as president.

Perhaps Clinton is just mad because, deep down, she knows she could never be as good a president as Trump.

As Trump plotted his purge of nonloyalists from government, Warren developed her coronavirus plan

As the number of coronavirus cases in the United States swelled Tuesday morning and Wall Street sneered at the Fed's slap-dash interest-rate drop, bafflement overtook very stable genius Donald Trump. "Six weeks ago, eight weeks ago, you never heard of this," Trump said of the coronavirus as he addressed the National Association of Counties. "All of a sudden, it's got the world aflutter."

Geez, who coulda seen it coming? Not Trump. He's the guy who found out just a couple of weeks ago that the flu can be deadly. "I want you to understand something that shocked me when I saw it," Trump marveled during a coronavirus-related press conference last week, "The flu, in our country, kills from 25,000 people to 69,000 people a year. That was shocking to me." Yeah, we get it. You're a clueless navel-gazing narcissist who a month ago was gleefully planning your government-wide post-impeachment purge of nonloyalists.

Around that same time, Elizabeth Warren was preparing a global response to the emerging pandemic Trump had "never heard of." As Trump issued the opening salvo of his nonloyalist purge with the ouster of Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman and his twin brother from the National Security Council, Warren was releasing her plan to prevent and minimize transmission by investing in global health agencies, investing in vaccine development, and preparing hospitals and health departments across the nation for potential outbreaks. Her plan emphasized the importance of science and disseminating factual information while countering misinformation.

“Diseases like coronavirus remind us why we need robust international institutions, strong investments in public health, and a government that is prepared to jump into action at a moment's notice,” Warren wrote in her plan. “When we prepare and effectively collaborate to address common threats that don’t stop at borders, the international community can stop these diseases in their tracks.”

A month later, Trump would be calling this burgeoning public health crisis a "hoax" and rushing to reassure the markets that he had this all under control. Trump surely viewed the Federal Reserve as his ace in the hole. But after it took the rare step Tuesday morning of cutting the interest rate half a percentage point between meetings in order to mitigate economic fallout from the virus, the Dow Jones stabilized briefly and then plummeted another 500 points.

Dow down another 500 points AFTER the Fed makes a VERY rare half percentage point cut between regularly scheduled meetings. Normally, a cut like this suggests the Fed has a grip on the economy. This looks like the Fed caved to Trumps market-obsessed pressure

Goodness, just six weeks ago, who could have imagined? Warren not only could have, but she did, and got to work on a plan for that.

Bloomberg Called Out During Interview For Lying About Trump’s Coronavirus ‘Hoax’ Comments

Michael Bloomberg was called out by reporter Scott Pelley during a ’60 Minutes’ interview for spreading a lie about President Trump’s comments on the coronavirus.

Pelley, a CBS News reporter, asked Bloomberg for his thoughts on the coronavirus emergency. The Democrat candidate for President responded by spreading his own hoax.

“I find it incomprehensible that the president would do something as inane as calling it ‘a hoax,” Bloomberg falsely claimed.

Pelley stepped in to correct Bloomberg, who didn’t even bother to admit he had misspoken.

“He said the Democrats making so much of it is a Democratic hoax, not that the virus was a hoax,” Pelley explained.

To rehash – Bloomberg lied about the President’s comments, then accused Trump of being “inane,” “ignorant,” and “irresponsible.”

Pot, meet kettle.

Democrat Hoax

Fascinating, isn’t it, that President Trump would call hysteria over the coronavirus generated by Democrats and the media a hoax, and they would proceed to prove his point by flat-out lying about what was said.

Here’s the reality.

Trump told supporters at a campaign rally that the resistance party would do everything in their power to use the coronavirus emergency as a means to take him down – similar to the Russia collusion witch hunt.

“Now, the Democrats are politicizing the coronavirus,” Trump said.

He added, “One of my people came up to me and said, ‘Mr. President, they tried to beat you on Russia, Russia, Russia.’ That didn’t work out too well. They couldn’t do it. They tried the impeachment hoax. And this is their new hoax.”

Not Mini-Mike’s First Lie, Probably Not His Last

Having a reporter call you out in the middle of a ’60 Minutes’ interview for being a liar isn’t the first time Bloomberg has been embarrassed on the national stage.

It’s not even the first time a normally Democrat-cooperative media has called him out for lying about the coronavirus itself.

Just last week, the Associated Press fact-checked Bloomberg along with other Democrat colleagues for distorting the truth about the Trump administration’s preparedness in dealing with coronavirus.

“There’s nobody here to figure out what the hell we should be doing,” Biden said during a debate. “And he’s defunded — he’s defunded Centers for Disease Control, CDC, so we don’t have the organization we need. This is a very serious thing.”

Not so, according to the AP.

“Bloomberg is repeating the false allegation in a new ad that states the U.S. is unprepared for the virus because of ‘reckless cuts’ to the CDC,” the AP reports.

“Trump’s budgets have proposed cuts to public health, only to be overruled by Congress, where there’s strong bipartisan support for agencies such as the CDC and NIH,” they added. “Instead, financing has increased.”

Cher Spreads Fake News Story Alleging That Trump Described Coronavirus As A ‘Hoax’

Singer and actress Cher blatantly spread fake news about President Donald Trump on Saturday when she perpetrated the false story that he had called the coronavirus a “hoax.”

Cher took to social media yesterday to share an NBC News story that had the misleading headline: “Trump calls coronavirus Democrats’ ‘new hoax.'”

The story itself makes it clear that the headline takes what Trump said out of context, as he really used the word “hoax” at a recent rally to describe the way that Democrats have politicized coronavirus and turned it into a weapon against him.

This did not stop Cher from sharing the story alongside one of her typical nonsensical captions in which she called Trump “nuts,” among other things.

It was at a rally in Charleston on Friday that Trump made the comment that has since been twisted by the mainstream media, who are desperate to make it look as if the president called coronavirus a hoax. When looking at the full statement Trump made, however, it makes a lot more sense.

“Now the Democrats are politicizing the coronavirus. They’re politicizing it,” Trump said, according to Breitbart News. “We did one of the great jobs, you say, ‘How’s President Trump doing?’ They go, ‘Oh, not good, not good.’ They have no clue. They don’t have any clue. They can’t even count their votes in Iowa. They can’t even count!”

“One of my people came up to me and said, ‘Mr. President, they tried to beat you on Russia, Russia, Russia. That didn’t work out too well. They couldn’t do it,” he added. “They tried the impeachment hoax. That was on a perfect conversation. They tried anything. They tried it over and over. They’ve been doing it since you got in. It’s all turning. They lost, it’s all turning. Think of it, and this is their new hoax.’”

The next day, Trump confirmed that when he used the word “hoax,” he was talking about Democrats’ attempts to blame coronavirus on him.

“No, hoax referring to the action that they take to try and pin this on somebody,” Trump said at a White House press conference. “That’s just a continuation of the hoax, whether its the impeachment hoax or the Russia, Russia, Russia hoax. This is what I’m talking about.”

Democrats have been working overtime to try and find some way to blame coronavirus on President Trump, and they’ve stooped to sharing clear fake news just to try and make this story fit their narrative. Only someone as small-minded as Cher would fall for this one, however, as the average American sees right through what the media is doing.

Trump calls coronavirus ‘the new hoax’ as he repeats lies about spread within the U.S.

On Friday night, Donald Trump called the coronavirus epidemic a “hoax” by Democrats who “failed” to bring him down over his collusion with Russia, or the extortion of Ukraine that led to his impeachment. After weeks of downplaying the threat, of ignoring the spread around the world, and of demonstrating that his concerns begin and end with the stock market, Trump has moved on to the next stage of how he is handling the COVID-19 issue — affixing the blame.

On a rally stage in South Carolina, Trump took his statement that he could kill Americans and get away with it out of the realm of theory and put it into practice. The people that he murdered might not be dead yet, but his words on that stage have killed them as certainly as if he lined them up on Fifth Avenue and opened fire.

Trump has criminally underplayed the importance of emergency preparations of all kinds. His gutted White House has disposed of epidemiologists and emergency response specialists from the National Security Council, CDC, and elsewhere — for reasons that don’t seem to be much more defined than Trump’s lifelong hatred of having people around who know that what is doing is foolish.

During his positively incoherent press event on Thursday, Trump already knew that there were sixty cases of coronavirus within the United States. More importantly, he knew that the CDC had just identified the first case of “community spread” in the country — a case that didn’t come in from overseas, and wasn’t obviously tied to someone who had caught it outside the country. Before his speech in South Carolina, three more cases had been identified, including another case of community spread. However, Trump insisted on telling his rally audience that there were still only “fifteen cases in this huge country.”

Trump took credit for this “pretty amazing” imaginary victory, claiming it was because he “moved early.” But it’s clear that Trump wants to declare the win … won. And everything that happens from now on can’t be blamed on him.

Trump: “Now the Democrats are politicizing the coronavirus. You know that … coronavirus. We did one of the great jobs, you say, ‘How’s President Trump doing?’ They say, ‘Oh, not good. Not good.’ They have no clue. They don’t have any clue.  … They tried to beat you on ‘Russia, Russia, Russia,’ that didn’t work out to well. They tried the impeachment hoax. That was on a perfect conversation. They tried anything. They tried over and over. They been doing it since you got in. It’s all turning, they lost, it’s all turning. Think of it. Think of it. And this is their new hoax.”

The worst thing with Trump’s statement isn’t that it once again treats an infectious disease as a political talking point. It’s not that he’s failing to warn his listeners of the genuine threat they and their families will be facing. It’s not even that he’s dodging the blame for a response that has already proven inadequate

The worst thing is that Trump never has a worst thing. There is always more ahead. Because when confronted, he won’t admit a mistake, or apologize, or even try to sidestep. He will double down.

And where he’s going can already be seen in the way that this story is being handled by right-wing media and by politicians who are racing to get ahead of the issue … the Republican way.

The Corona virus was man-made. Bill Gates is one of the financiers of the Wujan lab where it was being developed. I wouldnt put it past them and by them I mean everyone from Adam Schiff to George Soros, Hillary Clinton and the Pope. #DeepStateCabal #KAG2020 @CIA https://t.co/NYHkEp5UHH

— JoanneWrightForCongress (@JWrightforCA34) February 24, 2020

Joanne Wright is an actual Republican candidate for Congress in the 34th California district currently held by Democratic Rep. Jimmy Gomez. Gomez won his last race with 72% of the vote … over a Green Party candidate, as Republicans didn’t even field a challenger. Wright doesn’t actually represent a threat to take away a seat in the House.

But she represents a threat all right. Her version of the coronavirus situation, with conspiracy theory ladled on top of conspiracy theory, with a heaping helping of both antisemitism and anti-Catholicism is exactly how this story is circulating in right wing channels. That may seem like the batsh#t fringe of the party. But at this point, the Trumpist party is all fringe.

Trump is already stepping onto this ground with his claim that the coronavirus is a Democratic hoax. With the stock market already in free-fall, and the disease beginning to spread across the nation in earnest, there is no place he will not go. Or at least … no place except responsible behavior and good management.

Mark Levin Blasts Pelosi and Schumer as the ‘Last People I Want Playing Doctor With Me or the American People’

Conservative talk host Mark Levin blasted House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and Democrats overall on Thursday for their criticism of President Trump’s response to the coronavirus outbreak.

‘The last people I want playing doctor with me or the American people are Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi’

“I watch this and I realize there’s a lot of stupid people on TV,” Levin told Fox News’ Sean Hannity. “The last people I want playing doctor with me or the American people are Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi.”

RELATED: Joe Biden Really Just Claimed Half The American Population Has Been Killed By Gun Violence

Levin then read a number of things Trump has done since the outbreak began, even as Democrats accuse the administration for not having a good response.

“There’s no CDC cuts. There’s been [funding] increases,” Levin said. “Certain individuals have been quarantined by this president — the first time a U.S. president has done that in over half a century. The White House coronavirus task force was appointed over a month ago. The president temporarily suspended entry into the United States.”

Democrats Should Have Been More Worried About Coronavirus Than Impeachment

Levin said that while Trump’s team worked feverishly to contain the virus, Democrats were too busy worrying about the impeachment trial.

“From January 16 to February 5, the United States Senate was paralyzed by the House Democrats and Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi with this outrageous impeachment trial where the Senators had to sit on their hands, shut their mouths and couldn’t pass any business,” Levin charged.

“They couldn’t address the coronavirus because Pelosi and Schumer shut down the Congress,” he continued. “They don’t want to talk about that, do they?”

Levin then slammed the 2020 Democratic field.

Liberals Have No Answers

“The Democrats, they go to the microphone and they attack. They don’t know anything,” Levin said. “What is their plan? What is the Schumer-Pelosi-[Bernie] Sanders – [Amy] Klobuchar- [Michael] Bloomberg whatever plans? They have great plans for containment. Open borders, eliminate ICE, no vetting of foreigners, sanctuary cities, nationalize and destroy the greatest healthcare system, destroy our pharmaceutical companies … that will come up with the solutions? ”

“The answers won’t come from the liberals and the Democrats,” Levin added, “which is why they attack.”

Tuesday Morning Recap: Buttigieg And Sanders In Dead Heat, Trump Secures Another Judge And Could Roger Stone Be Pardoned?

By LifeZette Staff | February 11, 2020

The New Hampshire primary

Buttigieg and Sanders remain in a dead heat going into the New Hampshire today. A large turnout will favor Sanders. Buttigieg is counting on depressed college student turnout, in both senses of the phrase, and a moderate voter base. Biden has to finish in the top three or he is in serious trouble. Warren has to just not get completely clobbered. Our call is Sanders. Then it’s on for them to savage Mike Bloomberg.

Coronavirus update

World Health Organization officials traveling in China today called the coronavirus “a very grave threat to the rest of the world.” Over 100 have died there from the virus and 43,000 others have fallen ill from it round the world. 99% percent of the cases are in China. There have been no U.S. deaths as of yet. International monitors speculate China’s rudimentary socialized health system is not capable of handling the crisis. But national pride stops them from asking for significant outside help.

Trump secures another judge

The president gets another judge through the Senate. This time it’s the nomination of Judge Andrew Basher to the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals. Senate GOP Leader Mitch McConnell got Basher his upcoming new job with a Monday 46-41 vote in favor. The official nod will be this afternoon.

Space war?

Two Russian satellites are tailing an American spy satellite, coming as close as 100 miles. In space, that’s nudging the guy next to you in the ribs. A U.S. Space Force ( so cool to write that) general says the Russian craft’s actions are “unusual and disturbing.” Not really, Just Vladimir Putin rattling his actually relatively puny sword a bit.

Could Roger Stone be pardoned?

President Trump is hinting he may pardon his former pal Roger Stone. In a tweet this morning he called Stone’s prosecution and upcoming sentencing “horrible and very unfair.”

Across the pond

Germany has been politically upended with the news that Chancellor Angela Merkel’s hand-picked heir apparent, Defense Minister Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer, has said no to moving into Merkel’s job. It’s like Mike Pence turning down the presidency after he won the 2024 GOP nomination for president. The Defense Minister made the move because she is upset that the political party of both she and Merkel, the Christian Democratic Union, allied with a hard core anti-immigration party, the AFD, in state elections.

News Wrap: Turkish, Syrian forces clash again in Idlib province

In our news wrap Monday, Turkish and Syrian forces clashed in northwestern Syria for the second time in two weeks. As Turkish trucks rumbled into Idlib province, officials in Ankara warned Syria's Assad regime to pull back. Also, U.S. Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer called for protecting whistleblowers after President Trump ousted several key figures in the impeachment probe on Friday.
