GOP Rep. Introduces Resolution to Remove Nancy Pelosi as House Speaker

Rep. Doug Collins has introduced a resolution that questions Nancy Pelosi’s mental fitness and calls for her removal as House Speaker.

Collins (R-GA) cited “recent actions” as a reason for her removal, as well as her refusal to adhere to the Constitution of the United States.

“Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s unwillingness to abide by the Constitution, combined with her recent actions, call into question her own mental fitness,” the congressman said in a statement to Fox News.

“Which is why it’s critical that the House of Representatives demand her removal from the line of succession,” he added.

The resolution goes after Pelosi for having “spent the majority of the House of Representative’s time pursuing baseless and fruitless investigations.”

It also points to Pelosi being the architect of a “party-line vote to begin an impeachment inquiry into a president,” the first of its kind in the nation’s history.

Pelosi Announces New  25th Amendment Bill to Remove Presidents From Power

Collins’ resolution – particularly the part about Pelosi’s “recent actions” – appears to be a direct response to her announcement last week that she wants to create a “bipartisan” commission that could remove the president from power using the 25th Amendment.

Pelosi and Rep. Jamie Raskin, author of the bill, announced the formation of the commission as President Trump was battling COVID and many were speculating about his health – both physical and mental.

“In times of chaos, we must hold fast to our Constitution,” Raskin announced.

“The 25th Amendment is all about the stability of the presidency and the continuity of the office.”

Republicans were not kind in their response to Pelosi’s bill.

It’s Not About Trump, But This is Definitely About Pelosi

House Speaker Pelosi argued that the commission regarding the 25th Amendment was not about President Trump.

“This is not about President Trump,” she said at a press conference hours after claiming President Trump was “in an altered state” following his COVID diagnosis.

“He will face the judgment of the voters. But he shows the need for us to create a process for future presidents.”

Trump even argued that it was more about Biden potentially becoming President and replacing him with vice presidential nominee Kamala Harris.

“Crazy Nancy Pelosi is looking at the 25th Amendment in order to replace Joe Biden with Kamala Harris,” Trump tweeted. “The Dems want that to happen fast because Sleepy Joe is out of it!”

Collins, meanwhile, made it clear his resolution is most assuredly about Pelosi’s mental fitness.

“Over the tenure of her speakership, Speaker Nancy Pelosi has started to demonstrate a decline in mental fitness, calling into question her ability to adequately serve the House of Representatives and the American people,” it states.

Pelosi Announces 25th Amendment Bill To Give Commission Power To Remove President

Nancy Pelosi announced a bill that would use the 25th Amendment to create a “bipartisan” commission that could remove the president from power.

“Bipartisan” Congressional Commission That Could Remove President From Power

The 25th Amendment states that a majority of “such other body as Congress may by law provide” may determine if the President is fit for office.

The bill, authored by Representative Jamie Raskin, would create a bipartisan “Commission on Presidential Capacity to Discharge the Powers and Duties of the Office.”

Made up of 17 “bipartisan” members, the commission could determine whether the president is “unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office” if they are physically or mentally incapacitated, and then decide that a transfer of power is needed.

“This is not about President Trump,” Pelosi said at a press conference on Friday, only a day after claiming President Trump is “in an altered state” following his COVID diagnosis.

“He will face the judgment of the voters. But he shows the need for us to create a process for future presidents.”

Raskin: “We Need To Act”

“We need to act,” said Raskin, who joined Pelosi at the press conference.

“In times of chaos, we must hold fast to our Constitution. The 25th Amendment is all about the stability of the presidency and the continuity of the office.”

This is the second bill that Raskin has created to set up such a commission.

“For the security of our people and the safety of the Republic, we need to set up the ‘body’ called for in the 25th Amendment,” Raskin said in 2017.

“The president can fire his entire Cabinet for asking the same question tens of millions of Americans are asking at their dinner tables, but he cannot fire Congress or the expert body we set up under the Constitution,” he continued.

“Pelosi Is Just Embarrassing Herself”

The backlash to the bill from Republicans was fierce and immediate.

“Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats still have not accepted the results of the 2016 election,” Senator Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) tweeted.

“Their talk of the 25th Amendment is just a continuation of that.”

Donald Trump Jr. got a good laugh out of it:

The Republicans on the House Judiciary Committee said that Pelosi was “just embarassing herself” with the 25th Amendment bill, and that the bill made Adam Schiff’s “conspiracy theories seem normal.”

Many others weighed in on the bill:

Trump Has A Totally Different View

President Trump had a different take.

Perhaps because Pelosi argued that the bill “isn’t about Trump,” the President saw something else:

Namely, removing Joe Biden from power, and replacing him with Kamala Harris.

It follows comments from the President on Thursday, where he described Senator Harris as “horrible,” “totally unlikeable,” and a “communist,” who would replace Biden as President “within months” if they won the presidential election in November.

Pelosi Suggests Using 25th Amendment To Remove Trump From Office Before Election

On Thursday, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi implied that she is looking at removing President Donald Trump from power  using the U.S. Constitution’s 25th Amendment.

Pelosi said to reporters during a press briefing, “Tomorrow, by the way, tomorrow — come here tomorrow. We’re going to be talking about the 25th Amendment.”

Pelosi’s comments come after her Democratic House already impeached the President, though the Senate declined to convict.

The Purpose Of The 25th Amendment To The U.S. Constitution

Using the 25th Amendment to essentially undo the 2016 presidential election has been a topic of discussion among Democrats and Never Trump Republicans since Trump first stepped into the White House.

Enacted in 1967, the purpose of the 25th Amendment was two fold:

  • To ensure that the United States has an Acting President in times when the duly-elected president can no longer lead, due to death, illness, or some other factors.
  • To set in stone the line of succession.

For example, when President Ronald Reagan underwent surgery in 1985 and Vice President George H.W. Bush was Acting President for that time.

George W. Bush also transferred power to Vice President Dick Cheney while Bush underwent surgery.

Section 4 of the 25th Amendment allows for Congress and the Vice President to remove the President from power. From History.com:

Section 4 stipulates that when the vice president and a majority of a body of Congress declare in writing to the president pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House that the president is unable to perform the duties of the office, the vice president immediately becomes acting president.

Pelosi appears to be looking at this section of the 25th Amendment.

President Pelosi?

Speaker Pelosi’s mention of the 25th Amendment comes not just after impeachment, but also amid speculation that Pelosi herself could become Acting President in the event of election chaos.

The possibility of her becoming president has been raised by many including Pelosi herself.

It is unlikely, but possible, that if the issues with the election leave no clear winner, and if the House is unable to reach a conclusion before January 20, 2021, Pelosi could become Acting President.

25th Amendment Interest Rose After First Couple’s COVID-19 Diagnosis

After it was announced that President Trump and First Lady Melania were diagnosed with COVID-19 last week, interest in the 25th Amendment rose online.

CBS News reported, “(T)he news of his positive coronavirus test drove an immediate surge in Google searches for the 25th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, which lays out the succession for the executive branch should the president be incapacitated or deemed unable to carry out the duties of the presidency.

RELATED: Pelosi Signals She Is Prepared To Become Acting President If Election Descends Into Chaos

When White House communications director Alyssa Farah was asked if Vice President Mike Pence might have to become Acting President while Trump was at Walter Reed, she replied, “The president is in charge.”

Still, the pattern of trying to remove Trump from office and defy the results of the 2016 election are clear.

The Democrats spent most of Trump’s first term impeaching him.

Pelosi even threatened to advance impeachment a second time over Trump’s nomination of Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court.

Now, Pelosi is talking about using the 25th Amendment.

Their mission since the 2016 election ended has been to undo its results.

If they care to be honest, Democrats might want to change the name of their party because their respect for democracy is at an all-time low.

That change is about as likely as President Nancy Pelosi ever happening.

DNC Source Says Biden VP Pick Is Down To Two

A source at the Democratic National Committee (DNC) has told LifeZette that the Biden search for a running mate has been narrowed down to two people: Rep. Val Demings of Florida and Rep. Karen Bass of California.

Both are black females, thus keeping with the racial quotas now in place in the deeply racist Democratic Party. An announcement is set to be made within hours, if not tomorrow.

Given Florida is a battleground state, Demings is far and away the best political choice. She presents no worse than your typical Democrat lunatic, gained national attention during the impeachment hearings, and is not prone to public communist statements and enthusiasms. Bass is altogether different.

As chair of the Congressional Black Caucus, Bass’ demeanor has been odd of late. The CBC is a hard-left group and has been for some time. But Bass recently broke ranks and did not support the defund the police movement beloved by many members of the CBC. Did she do so to make herself more politically palatable to voters and/or Joe Biden?

But the real interesting move, as hinted above, has been her turnaround on communism and Cuba. As a student radical Bass took a trip to the country in 1970 and came back with nothing but hippy drippy commie praise for the brutal island dictatorship and American foe. She even referred to Castro as “commander in chief” of Florida’s Cuban exile community.

She also called the joyous event of Castro’s demise “a great loss to the Cuban people.” That stuff is, of course, barking loony. But such was her thrall to savage communism that it was her mission to spread the gospel of Marxist glory to this country. But now that power beckons she likely has not changed her views, just what she says in public. Thus, on NBC…

“There were over 100 young people there, and all of us worked on different issues. We had the ability to come home and protest against our own government, but the Cuban people most certainly cannot do that. They couldn’t do it then and they can’t do it now,” said Bass.

If she understood that why did she sing from the Cuban communist hymnal for several decades after she left the country? Why did she mourn Fidel Castro? Why did she tell American citizens of Cuban heritage that Castro was their “commander-in-chief”? Does that sound like someone who has renounced communism?

But the views of both Demings and Bass don’t really matter in the dispositive sense to the national party. Just like Kluxers of old, the party is just interested in one thing: the color of their skin. Yes, the harridans and gorgons who run and staff the Democrats also want to make sure a man is not picked for veep because the poor dears have had to put up with an inherently toxic man at the top of the ticket.

But if they win in November, they probably won’t have to wait long at all until their veep calls their attorney general and says, “Tell me about the 25th Amendment.”
