John Boehner Can’t Stop Crying as He Praises Nancy Pelosi During Her Portrait Unveiling

Former Republican House Speaker John Boehner struggled – unsuccessfully – to fight back his famous, frequently-appearing tears as he offered a glowing tribute to Nancy Pelosi at the unveiling of her official portrait at the Capitol.

And never has there been a more appropriate metaphor for the old-guard GOP’s relationship with their Democrat colleagues.

“My girls told me, ‘Tell the speaker how much we admire her,'” Boehner whimpered, his face contorting in an unsuccessful attempt to close the floodgates.

He then joked, “As if you couldn’t tell, my girls are Democrats.”

But the praise didn’t just come from his daughters, it came from Boehner himself.

“The younger generation today has a saying: ‘Game recognizes game,'” he praised. “The fact of the matter is no other speaker of the House in the modern era — Republican or Democrat — has wielded the gavel with such authority or with such consistent results.”

The clearly emotional and flustered Boehner’s comments were littered with mispronunciations and pauses as he tried to stop the urge to continue weeping.

Boehner Crying as He Celebrates Pelosi

Pelosi’s tenure has been one of the most divisive and destructive efforts in the “modern era” and Boehner can only think to call her “incredibly effective” and “one tough cookie”?

That tough cookie has been crying and lying about an ‘insurrection’ on January 6th. She tore the nation apart and helped take focus off the incoming pandemic by pursuing an impeachment she once described as the “most divisive” path.

She has consistently caved to the fringe element of her party ever since the Squad was ushered in during the 2018 midterms. Pelosi forced the passage of Obamacare despite its unpopularity, famously saying, “We have to pass the bill so that you can find out what is in it.”

Democrats lost 63 House seats later that year. It was the worst shellacking since 1938. Very, very effective, John.

Boehner wasn’t the only Republican in attendance at the unveiling of Pelosi’s comically over-sized Capitol portrait.

The New York Times reports that Kevin McCarthy, widely presumed to replace Pelosi as Speaker of the House, “sat silently” during the proceedings.

Frequent Critic of Trump, Ted Cruz

John Boehner crying isn’t exactly new, but it’s an important reminder of the feckless leadership that allowed people like Pelosi and Barack Obama to run roughshod over the Constitution during their tenure.

Pelosi joked about the former Speaker being famously teary-eyed on a perpetual basis.

“I would have been a little disappointed if he didn’t get emotional,” she quipped.

And while he’s heaping praise on Nancy Pelosi, Boehner hasn’t always had the kindest words for staunch conservatives like Fox News host Sean Hannity, Senator Ted Cruz, or former President Donald Trump.

In a 2017 profile at Politico Boehner called Hannity “nuts” and said Americans were “ill-informed.”

He’s had a long-standing feud with Cruz (R-TX), going off-script in recording his memoir saying, “Oh, and Ted Cruz, go f*** yourself.”

That feud stemmed from accusations by Cruz in 2015 that blamed Boehner for helping Democrats fund the government, Planned Parenthood, and the Iran nuclear deal.

And, like Pelosi, Boehner naturally blamed Trump saying he “incited that bloody insurrection” at the Capitol.

Maybe, John, kick back with another red wine and shed some tears for what Pelosi and the Democrats have done to this country that led to anger over election integrity in the first place.

Mitt Romney Comes Out Against Hunter Biden Investigation – ‘A Waste of Time’ – Trump Calls Him a ‘Pathetic Joke’

Senator Mitt Romney is voicing opposition to Republican investigations into Hunter Biden, describing such affairs as a “waste of time.”

Romney (R-UT) ran to his fellow faux conservatives at The Bulwark to make his position known.

The outlet, which described the younger Biden, currently identified by federal agents as having enough evidence to charge him with multiple crimes, as little more than a “political bugbear,” notes that Romney is the only GOP lawmaker to break with his party on the matter.

“I think it’s really hard to know what the politics of a course of action might be in this day and age, to know where our party stands, what our base wants, what independent voters want,” Romney said.

“But I think you have to do what you think is right and I think the American people want us to tackle some of the big challenges we have—immigration, inflation, and so forth—and the other things that divert from those priorities I think are a waste of time.”

Romney: Hunter Biden Investigation a Waste of Time, January 6 Committee Not so Much

While it isn’t surprising that Mitt Romney would break with Republicans and jump to the defense of an embattled Democrat President and his scandal-plagued son, his reasoning is a bit of a shock.

A “waste of time”?

This is the same man who voted in favor of establishing the January 6 committee to investigate the riot at the Capitol. Has there been a more colossal waste of taxpayer money than that investigation, Mitt?

Romney, of course, also defended Nancy Pelosi after she initiated the first impeachment trial of former President Donald Trump, something even Democrat Representative Jerry Nadler (NY) called “unconstitutional.”

“She’s able to do what she feels is right. That’s up to her,” Romney said in defending Pelosi at the time. “At this stage, the process is to continue to gather information but clearly what we’ve seen from the transcript itself is deeply troubling.”

Much like the January 6 committee, the first impeachment trial was also a ‘waste of time.’

Romney later voted to convict Trump of inciting an insurrection during the second impeachment trial.

Voiced Concern About Going After Hunter Before

Romney has been seemingly protecting Hunter Biden from being dragged into investigatory avenues before.

In March of 2020, the Washington Post reported that Romney was poised to join Democrats and vote to squash a subpoena related to Hunter Biden’s work with the Ukrainian energy company, Burisma Holdings.

Though he later relented, his reasoning sounded awfully familiar.

“I would prefer that investigations are done by an independent, non-political body,” he claimed. “There’s no question the appearance is not good.”

Romney went on to tell reporters that the investigation “appears political.”

“I think people are tired of these kinds of political investigations.”

Romney did later join Republicans in voting in favor of the subpoena.

In a weekend comment on a separate matter, Trump described Romney as a “pathetic joke.”

Report: Democrat Seeking to Use 14th Amendment to Bar Trump From Office

Representative David Cicilline is seeking to invoke an obscure section of the 14th Amendment to bar Donald Trump from ever holding office again.

Cicilline, a Rhode Island Democrat, is specifically citing the former President’s alleged involvement in “inciting an insurrection.”

He sent a letter to colleagues outlining a bill and requesting co-sponsors for the measure that “would prevent Donald Trump from holding public office again under the Fourteenth Amendment.”

Cicilline circulated his letter on the same night Trump announced his campaign for the presidency.

RELATED: Democrats Attempting To Use 14th Amendment To Bar Trump From Office

Using the 14th Amendment to Bar Trump

Is there an Amendment the Democrats haven’t used in trying to keep Donald Trump out of the White House? If it’s not the 25th Amendment, let’s try the 14th.

Section 3 of the 14th Amendment is a rarely cited Civil War-era provision that bars individuals from holding office if they “have engaged in insurrection or rebellion” or “given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof.”

Cicilline believes the January 6 Committee has provided proof of said rebellion on the part of the former President.

He says his bill “details testimony and evidence demonstrating how Donald Trump engaged in insurrection against the United States,” and references evidence provided by the select committee hearings.

RELATED: Democrats Have A Back-Up Plan That Might Still Bar Trump From Running Again If Impeachment Fails

Flawed Logic

David Cicilline’s bid to bar Trump from office using the 14th Amendment has a couple of fatal flaws.

One, just because the media refers to a rally that got out of control as ‘insurrection’ does not make it so, especially when referencing a Civil War-era clause that was clearly referencing those who took up arms to try and fracture the United States.

Two, while Trump was impeached in January 2021 on the charge of “incitement of insurrection,” he was ultimately acquitted by the Senate.

Acquitted. End of discussion.

It’s such a sad attempt at keeping Trump out of office that one almost feels pity for Cicilline.

It’s not a unique stance, however.

The Political Insider reported back in February of 2021 that Congressional Democrats were considering utilizing the 14th Amendment to stop their primary political opponent.

The measure at the time had no support on either side of the political aisle, with Democrats preferring “to see the former president convicted in the impeachment trial.”

He wasn’t convicted, making use of the Amendment even more ludicrous.

Legal scholar Jonathan Turley has argued that invoking the measure against Trump is a “dangerous” tactic for the nation.

Barring the former President from running again in the future based on a rarely cited provision of the 14th Amendment, after having been acquitted and without a supermajority vote, could open up the floodgates for parties in power to keep their political opponents out of office.

  • 15 Democrats objected to counting Florida’s electoral votes in 2000.
  • 31 Democrats voted in favor of rejecting electoral votes from Ohio in 2004.
  • 7 different Democrats objected 11 times to certifying the results of the 2016 presidential election.

All of those Democrat lawmakers tried to overturn a legal presidential election. In 2016, it led to violent riots in the streets of Washington, D.C. meant to intimidate officials. In other words, an ‘insurrection’ by the media’s phony standards.

Should those individuals also be barred from ever running for office again under the 14th Amendment?

RussiaGate Democrat Claims Republicans Could Nominate Trump As Next House Speaker

Democrat Jamie Raskin, of RussiaGate and impeachment fame, is warning his House colleagues that the GOP could move to nominate former President Donald Trump as the next Speaker should Republicans ultimately prevail in taking back the House.

Raskin suggested the idea has been brought up “repeatedly” in the Republican caucus during an appearance with “Face the Nation” Sunday.

He made the comments after being presented with a CBS report which claims roughly 155 Republican House members who won their races this past week are so-called ‘election deniers.’

“That’s a statement about the political contamination of the GOP by Donald Trump,” said Raskin, who objected to the electoral vote count during the 2016 election, making him by media definition an ‘election denier.’

Raskin continued, arguing that “[House Minority Leader] Kevin McCarthy and other leaders within the Republican Party are now required to make a decision about whether they’re going to try to rid themselves of Donald Trump and his toxic influence on the party.”

“One potential candidate whose name has been floated is Donald Trump himself, because the Speaker of the House does not have to be a member of the House,” Raskin then claimed.

“And they are talking about putting Trump right there.”

RELATED: Report: ‘Knives Are Out’ For Kevin McCarthy After GOP’s Lackluster Midterm Performance

Could Trump Really Be the Next Speaker of the House?

CBS host Margaret Brennan wasn’t buying into Raskin’s paranoia that Trump could become the next Speaker of the House.

“That’s not a real option, though,” she replied.

But to Raskin, it’s as real as the threat of the next insurrection and the fall of democracy, by God.

“They talk about it repeatedly,” Raskin claimed. “And if Trump decided he wanted to do it, it would pose a profound problem for their party because they refuse to do the right thing.”

RELATED: Gaetz Says He Will Move To Nominate Trump As Next House Speaker If GOP Wins In 2022

Raskin’s Claim is a Bit Far-Fetched

Despite Raskin’s claim, there is scant evidence of Republicans talking about making Trump the next Speaker of the House. And there is no evidence they are stating that intention “repeatedly.”

So Brennan was right to challenge the January 6 committee member.

The only evidence I can locate of such a claim was back in December of 2021 when MAGA Representative Matt Gaetz suggested he would nominate Trump if Republicans were to win back the House.

Further, we know that the GOP is afraid of their own shadow, and would never do something as amazing as nominating Trump for Speaker.

Gaetz tends to state things that are sure to send leftists and the media over the edge sometimes.

While the move is possible, it seems rather unlikely that former President Trump would have any interest in filling the role currently held by Nancy Pelosi.

The position has never been filled by anyone outside the chamber, though the Constitution does not specifically state that the Speaker must be a House member. Anyone chosen by the House can serve as Speaker.

A representative for Trump has said he has “zero desire” to be named Speaker despite previous comments suggesting he’d look into it.

While it is still possible for the GOP to gain control of the House when all of the slowest states catch up on their vote discovery counting, McCarthy’s grip on becoming House Speaker has become tenuous due to the lesser-than-expected margin Republicans will have.

The Political Insider reported last week that the “knives are out” for McCarthy following his party’s lackluster performance in the midterms.

The fact that Raskin took such a notion to mean that Trump could be installed as the House speaker shows two things – Democrats are obsessed with using the former President as a boogeyman because it worked in the last election cycle, and he continues to live rent free in their heads.

MAGA Rep Matt Gaetz Torches ‘McFailures’ McConnell and McCarthy for Midterm Results

MAGA Representative Matt Gaetz criticized Republican House leader Kevin McCarthy, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, and Republican National Committee Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel following a flaccid performance by GOP candidates in the 2022 midterm elections.

As of press time Thursday, the balance of power in Congress still remains undecided, with too many races yet to be called.

The House appears likely headed to a shift of power to the Republicans while the Senate will potentially be decided with a Georgia runoff in December.

But the margins in the House and questions lingering in the Senate are disappointing when a massive ‘red wave’ had been predicted.

Gaetz took to social media to label McCarthy, McConnell, and McDaniel a bunch of “McFailure(s).”

RELATED: Report: ‘Knives Are Out’ For Kevin McCarthy After GOP’s Lackluster Midterm Performance

Matt Gaetz Guns For Kevin McCarthy

Matt Gaetz is taking out his frustration predominantly on Kevin McCarthy.

The House races shouldn’t have come down to the ones too close to call. This was supposed to be a slaughter at the ballot box, a lead so comfortable things couldn’t possibly be left to other mitigating factors.

This is the equivalent of a #1 seed in the NCAA tournament having to go into overtime against the #16 seed. And, just as a coach’s career would be reevaluated after such a performance, so should McCarthy’s.

The Washington Examiner reports that Matt Gaetz has been making phone calls to encourage colleagues to turn their back on Kevin McCarthy’s bid to be the next House Speaker.

“Just as I have done after every election, you can count on me having conversations with my colleagues on matters of policy, politics, and leadership,” he said in a statement.

Fox News White House correspondent Jacqui Heinrich reported that a GOP source earlier this week had warned that the “knives are out” for McCarthy after the midterm performance.

RELATED: Matt Gaetz Warns There Are Republican Squishes Already Trying to Shut Down Biden Impeachment

Failure of Leadership

Matt Gaetz was already targeting weak Republicans, warning that there were some lawmakers voicing opposition to impeaching President Biden should the GOP take back the House.

“There are current members of the Republican majority, people who will be in the next Congress, who are arguing very, very fervently that they will oppose the use of the ‘I’ word, impeachment, in any context for any official in the Biden administration,” he said.

“And I believe that would totally misunderstand the mandate that the American people are giving us.”

That opposition is sure to grow now that the President has escaped relatively unscathed following the Republican election failure.

Likewise, McDaniel, the niece of Senator Mitt Romney, declared that Republicans will reach across the aisle and work with President Biden following the midterms.

“Would Republicans be willing to do the same and not just be a roadblock for him?” she was asked during a CNN interview.

“We have to,” McDaniel replied. “We have to work on behalf of the American people.”

She won’t have to worry about that too much, as President Biden has declared that he plans to change nothing about the way he’s governed based on the midterm results.

Meaning he’ll continue to rule by fiat, issuing executive orders and doing his best to circumvent Republicans in Congress. And he’ll get away with it too, so long as the McFailures are running the show.

Report: ‘Knives Are Out’ For Kevin McCarthy After GOP’s Lackluster Midterm Performance

A Republican source is indicating that the “knives are out” for GOP House leader Kevin McCarthy following a lackluster performance for the party in the midterms.

McCarthy had widely been viewed as the likely Speaker of the House if Republicans delivered on their ‘red wave’ promises. But they didn’t. House control is still up in the air as of this morning, and even if they take control it appears it will be by a slimmer margin than anticipated.

Fox News White House correspondent Jacqui Heinrich received a text from an unnamed source that indicated the results could be perilous for the California lawmaker.

“Knives are out for Kevin McCarthy,” the source wrote. “If he is under 225, expect Scalise to make a move quickly for speaker.”

Steve Scalise (R-LA) had been speculated to be McCarthy’s number two guy just days ago.

Will Kevin McCarthy be Speaker?

While conservative pundits are actively conducting a social media autopsy of just what the hell happened to last night’s red wave, Kevin McCarthy continued to express optimism about his chances of being House Speaker.

“Now let me tell you, you’re out late,” he told a crowd of supporters late Tuesday. “But when you wake up tomorrow, we will be in the majority and Nancy Pelosi will be in the minority.”

It’s very likely to wind up being a true statement. The problem for him is, if the margin between Republicans and Democrats is thin, staunch conservative lawmakers will wield more power.

“The conservative House Freedom Caucus was set to have more sway, with lawmakers like Rep. Marjorie Talor Greene of Georgia set to take an outsized role,” the Daily Mail reports.

RELATED: Tucker Rips GOP Leader Kevin McCarthy As Democrat ‘Puppet’ After Audio Surfaces of McCarthy Ripping Trump Supporters

Just a ‘Puppet’?

Conservatives have begrudgingly gone along with the idea of Kevin McCarthy as Speaker, fully expecting a massive midterm election wave for Republicans.

But the actual results may have changed the calculus.

“A lot of rank and file members of Congress right now though are thinking to themselves that we need new energized leadership that is going to be focused on the working class voters,” a GOP source told Heinrich.

Audio surfaced this past April of McCarthy criticizing former President Donald Trump and some of his most resolute allies in Congress, even suggesting their social media accounts be banned.

The clips revealed McCarthy speaking with Scalise regarding concern over fellow Republicans – particularly America First Representatives Matt Gaetz (R-FL), Lauren Boebert (R-CO), and Mo Brooks (R-AL) – ‘putting other lawmakers at risk’ with their comments about the 2020 election.

He said that referring to Republican candidates not willing to fight the election results as “anti-Trump” was “serious stuff” that “has to stop.”

“Can’t they take their Twitter accounts away, too?” he asked.

The shocking comments prompted Fox News anchor Tucker Carlson to eviscerate McCarthy.

“Those are the tape-recorded words of Congressman Kevin McCarthy, a man who in private, turns out, sounds like an MSNBC contributor,” he said.

Carlson warned at the time that McCarthy becoming Speaker “would mean you would have a Republican Congress led by a puppet of the Democratic Party.”

Prior to the midterms, Kevin McCarthy was already telling anybody who would listen that he had no intentions of pursuing impeachment for President Biden.

“I think the country doesn’t like impeachment used for political purposes at all,” he said. “If anyone ever rises to that occasion, you have to, but I think the country wants to heal and … start to see the system that actually works.”

With a narrow margin, it’s likely McCarthy would have to bend the knee to some more conservative members of the House in order to win the speakership.

And that might be the one silver lining to come out of these midterms.

Nancy Pelosi Hints Attack On Her Husband May Lead to Retirement

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi indicates that the recent brutal hammer attack on her husband in their San Francisco home has her pondering retirement.

Her comments came during her first sit-down interview since the attack, an appearance with CNN’s Anderson Cooper.

“There’s been a lot of discussion about whether you’d retire if Democrats lose the House,” Cooper said, referencing the Democrats’ expected midterm shellacking on Tuesday.

While declining to make an announcement, Pelosi acknowledged, “The decision will be affected about what happened over the last week or two.”

Cooper continued to press: “Will your decision be impacted by the attack in any way?”

“Yes,” she replied.

Pelosi Prepping for Retirement?

Ever the master manipulator, Pelosi is already trying to control the narrative following the midterm elections.

Rather than admitting she’s about to be retired due to a Republican red wave, she wants to be able to say that political violence caused by Trump and his supporters forced her to step aside.

Pelosi even said she agrees with President Biden that there is a direct correlation between the hammer attack and January 6th, calling it a “copycatter” event “inflamed by the same misrepresentation.”

“There’s no question. It’s the same thing,” she added.

RELATED: Fox’s Jesse Watters Slams Gavin Newsom After CA Governor Accuses Him of ‘Aiding and Abetting’ Paul Pelosi Attack

She’s an Outstanding Master of Resources

Aside from discussing retirement, Nancy Pelosi went on endlessly rave about why she was allegedly the true target of her husband’s hammer-wielding assailant.

“I’ve been a target for a long time. Because I’m very effective,” she bragged. “I’m a great … master of the legislation.”

“On the political side, I’m an outstanding, shall we say, a master of the resources necessary, intellectual, financial, political to win elections,” Pelosi added.

“So they have to put a stop to me, right, because they know that I’m about having our members succeed.”

Here again, notice the use of the word “they.” Pelosi is attempting to portray the attacker as more than a lone lunatic who broke into their home late at night, and rather, a representative of the pro-Trump movement.

She’s a master alright. A master manipulator.

GOP Chairwoman: If Republicans Win Control of Congress They’ll Work With Biden

Ronna McDaniel, Chair of the Republican National Committee (RNC) and niece of Senator Mitt Romney, declared that Republicans will reach across the aisle and work with President Biden should they win control of Congress following the midterms.

Her comments came during an interview with Dana Bash on CNN’s “State of the Union” over the weekend.

McDaniel initially called for a new era of bipartisanship which would focus on the President having to accept the election results as a mandate to work with Republicans.

“If we win back the House and the Senate, it’s the American people saying to Joe Biden, ‘We want you to work on behalf of us and we want you to work across the aisle and solve the problems that we are dealing with,'” she said.

McDaniel pointed to Bill Clinton who famously turned his fortunes around after a Republican election sweep in 1994 by embracing fiscal responsibility and moving further to the center in governing.

RELATED: GOP Leader Kevin McCarthy Pre-Surrenders, Saying GOP Won’t Impeach Biden

Ronna McDaniel: GOP Will Work With Biden

Bash pointed out that bipartisanship cuts in both directions and would require Republicans to be open to working with Biden as well.

“Would Republicans be willing to do the same and not just be a roadblock for him?” she asked.

“We have to,” McDaniel replied. “We have to work on behalf of the American people.”

Going back to McDaniel’s claim that a red wave is an indication that Biden must work with Republicans, simply saying that the reverse is also true is a fundamental misunderstanding of the mandate American voters will be giving the GOP.

They want you to be that roadblock.

Voters aren’t turning to Republican candidates in droves because they want them to work with President Biden. If that were the case they’d just vote for Democrats.

The mandate is to shut him down. To keep him and his party and his ideology from destroying the country any more than he already has.

What would you have them compromise on? Open borders? Illegal immigrants voting in our elections? Abortion without limitations? Economic ruin? Biological males competing in women’s sports? Drag queen story hours for kids? Decimated retirement savings plans?

Which of those do you want to reach across the aisle on, Ms. McDaniel?

Because Election Day is likely to show voters don’t want to compromise on any of it. President Biden is already the worst president in the history of this country. There is no compromise with this man and his radical party.

RELATED: Matt Gaetz Warns There Are Republican Squishes Already Trying to Shut Down Biden Impeachment

Consistently Surrendering Before the Election

To paraphrase Groundskeeper Willie of “The Simpsons,” the American people aren’t interested in a party full of ‘surrender monkeys,’ cheese-eating or otherwise.

It’s the Republicans’ job post-election to stop the bleeding. And that means stopping President Biden, not helping him.

“I don’t live in Washington, D.C. I live in Michigan. I talk to people every day,” McDaniel continued after suggesting the GOP would work with Biden.

“I talk to restaurant owners who are desperate to find labor. I talk to families who are dealing, including mine, with these education deficits with our kids being locked down,” she continued.

If she did it’s very likely they would have never said, ‘We want you to work with Biden.’

In fact, it’d be a safe bet that many more uttered the same words brought to you by Rashida Tlaib than anything else.

Ronna McDaniel’s comments aren’t the first example of pre-surrendering to President Biden before the elections have been held.

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, quite likely the next Speaker of the House, has already indicated that should the GOP win back congressional control in the 2022 midterms, they will not impeach Biden.

“I think the country doesn’t like impeachment used for political purposes at all,” said McCarthy. “If anyone ever rises to that occasion, you have to, but I think the country wants to heal and … start to see the system that actually works.”

Heal? Work across the aisle?

President Biden had ample opportunity to take that path during his first two years in office. Instead, he has done nothing but demonize Republican voters as MAGA extremists, cast out concerned parents as domestic terrorists, and suggested everyday Americans are white supremacists.

He has politicized the FBI and DOJ to harass and pursue political opponents at every turn. He is the actual danger to democracy.

No, it’s not time to work across the aisle. Or to placate this President in order to heal the country. It’s time to put that worn-out donkey and his party out to pasture. To save the country.

Cruz: Only Billionaires, Human Traffickers, and Fentanyl Dealers Are Better Off Under Biden

Senator Ted Cruz analyzed the question of whether or not Americans are better off under President Biden than they were two years ago, concluding that the only people reaping the rewards of his administration are Big Tech billionaires, human traffickers, and fentanyl dealers.

Cruz made the comments during an interview with Fox News personality and former Director of the National Economic Council, Larry Kudlow.

The Texas congressman harkened back to one of the most pivotal debate questions ever uttered when Ronald Reagan asked in a 1980 debate: “Are you better off today than you were four years ago?”

By any economic measure today, it is objectively true that Americans are worse off than when President Biden entered the White House. Cruz, however, did find a quasi-silver lining for the Democrats.

RELATED: Ted Cruz: Biden Impeachment Likely If Republicans Win Back The House

Cruz: Who’s Better Off Under Biden?

Cruz had a “very simple question” for voters sitting at home as they consider their vote in the upcoming midterm elections.

“Are you better off now than you were two years ago when Joe Biden became President?” he asked.

It’s a rhetorical question, of course.

But Cruz added a twist. Watch:

“If you’re a Big Tech billionaire, if you’re a human trafficker, if you’re a fentanyl dealer – then the answer is yes,” Cruz surmised.

“And you probably better go vote for the Democrats.”

RELATED: GOP Leader Kevin McCarthy Pre-Surrenders, Saying GOP Won’t Impeach Biden

Predicts a Massive Red Wave

Elsewhere in the segment, Senator Cruz predicted a massive red wave precisely because the American people are not better off under the Biden regime.

“This election is going to be such a wave election, it’s going to be like 2010,” he predicted. “Republicans are going to take both Houses [of Congress].”

Democrats lost the House and ceded the majority of governorships in 2010.

That prediction in itself is newsworthy. Cruz has contended for some time that he sees the GOP regaining control of the House of Representatives, but acknowledged taking back the Senate would be less likely.

“I put our odds at 50/50,” he previously said of potentially winning control of the Senate. “I think it’s going to be a really good year but it’s a bad map.”

Polls have shifted of late for Republicans in several Senate polls and have grown even more bullish on their chances in the House.

Cruz has asserted that President Biden’s greatest weakness is the border crisis, which has been a boon for human traffickers and fentanyl dealers.

The Texas Republican has suggested the border crisis and Biden’s “decision to just defy immigration laws” are the most likely grounds for impeachment.

“If we take the House, which I said is overwhelmingly likely, then I think we will see serious investigations of the Biden administration,” Cruz has said.

“I do think there’s a chance of that,” he added, referencing impeachment proceedings. “Whether it’s justified or not, the Democrats weaponized impeachment. They used it for partisan purposes to go after Trump because they disagreed with him.”

“One of the real disadvantages of doing that is the more you weaponize it and turn it into a partisan cudgel, you know what’s good for the goose is good for the gander,” he continued.

Biden’s border crisis is having devastating impacts on American families, as cartels use the crisis to smuggle fentanyl and poison our communities at “record rates.”

According to the DEA, “fentanyl is the single deadliest drug threat our nation has ever encountered.”

Kevin McCarthy doesn’t seem as enthralled with the prospect of impeaching President Biden quite as much as Republican voters might be.

The House Minority Leader, in an interview with Punchbowl News, was already admitting that should the GOP win back congressional control in the 2022 midterms, they will not impeach President Biden.

“I think the country doesn’t like impeachment used for political purposes at all,” said McCarthy. “If anyone ever rises to that occasion, you have to, but I think the country wants to heal and … start to see the system that actually works.”

Later, when asked if anyone in the current administration has risen to the level of impeachment, the California Republican responded, “I don’t see it before me right now.”

Kevin Flakin’: We’re Better Than the Democrats

Kevin McCarthy went on to hint that he plans to hold a Republican majority to a higher standard than that displayed by Democrats during the Trump era.

And they absolutely deserve no such favor.

“You watch what the Democrats did – they all came out and said they would impeach before Trump was ever sworn in,” he said. “There wasn’t a purpose for it.”

Somebody with an actual spine would conclude that this means it’s time to play by the rules already put forth. But then, McCarthy doesn’t come off as such.

This perpetual cycle of ‘we’re above that kind of thing’ while watching Democrats treat Republican president after Republican president as the next coming of Hitler needs to end.

Does he truly think that if Donald Trump or Ron DeSantis wins the presidency in 2024 that Democrats won’t pursue impeachment to the ends of the Earth, with little to no ‘purpose’?

Afraid of the ‘I’ Word

MAGA Representative Matt Gaetz (R-FL), in an interview in recent weeks, claimed there are Republican lawmakers already voicing opposition to impeaching President Biden.

“There are current members of the Republican majority, people who will be in the next Congress, who are arguing very, very fervently that they will oppose the use of the ‘I’ word, impeachment, in any context for any official in the Biden administration,” Gaetz reported.

“And I believe that would totally misunderstand the mandate that the American people are giving us.”

A Rasmussen Reports survey last month indicates that 52% of American voters overall support the impeachment of Joe Biden.

That includes an overwhelming number of Republican voters and even half of Independents. Meaning the only group who opposes impeachment are the Democrats.

Democrats and elected Republicans, it seems.

Does McCarthy believe he works for them?

Even then, Rasmussen Reports indicates a third of Democrat voters believe President Biden should be impeached.

Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX), unlike McCarthy, understands that the Democrats are the ones who opened Pandora’s Box when it comes to the ‘I’ word.

“Whether it’s justified or not, the Democrats weaponized impeachment. They used it for partisan purposes to go after Trump because they disagreed with him,” Cruz said.

That’s the bar now, Chief.
