According to an Orange County sheriff’s arrest affidavit, a man who reportedly subscribed to anti-government politics is accused of fatally stabbing his boss.
Triggered By A Political Argument
Twenty-eight-year-old construction worker Mason Trever Toney was arrested Monday and charged with murdering his boss William Knight.
Knight, also 28, was described as a “proud and outspoken American and pro-Donald Trump.”

“According to the arrest affidavit, a 911 caller reported that his coworker, identified as Toney, stabbed and killed their boss,” ClickOrlando.com reported.
“Deputies said they found Knight dead next to an excavator with a brand new American flag over the side of his body. Witnesses said Toney was spotted carrying a backpack, which likely was carrying the flag, according to the affidavit.”
Toney Reportedly Thought the Government Was Out to Get Him
“Witnesses said Toney and Knight were friends outside of the workplace, and Knight picked up Toney earlier in the day,” the report noted. “Witnesses said Toney and Knight got into an argument, possibly over their opposing views of the U.S. government.
The fatal stabbing was reported at 10:45 a.m. at a construction site at Exit 254 of Florida’s Turnpike near State Road 528.
The affidavit showed that Toney was very expressive about his beliefs and also thought the government was out to get him.

Toney In Custody
Knight yelled for help according to witnesses who saw Toney repeatedly stabbing him with a trowel.
According to deputies, witnesses tried to stop the attack by throwing things at Toney. Toney eventually left in a truck calling the witnesses “terrorists” as he drove away.
Later, Toney was taken into custody in Brevard County and placed under arrest. He is currently being held in Orange County without bond.
