What's happening:

- New York court rejects Trump's appeal of gag order…

- Former prosecutor who allegedly scuttled Hunter Biden probe ‘refused’ to answer Judiciary Committee questions…

- Senate delays Christmas break to work on border deal…

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre blew up Thursday when pressed by a reporter on President Biden "lying" about past interactions with his son Hunter's business associates, declaring there was "no evidence" the president did anything wrong.

Jean-Pierre also lashed out at House Republicans over the vote to approve an official impeachment inquiry against Biden, accusing them of "wasting their time," but the interaction began with New York Post reporter Steven Nelson asking why Biden interacted with so many of his family's business associates, which contributed to the inquiry's launch.

"What we're seeing from House Republicans is wasted time. And it is certainly, you know, a baseless political slant. That's what we're seeing. And they're leaving. House Republicans are leaving this week to go, you know, enjoy a nice holiday. Right? As most Americans should. But what happened to the funding to Ukraine?" Jean-Pierre responded

Earlier Thursday, the White House said House Republicans were "dithering" by leaving for Christmas break without approving additional Ukriane funding, aid to Israel, or addressing the border.

Harvard President Claudine Gay will remain in charge of the storied university despite criticism for her testimony in the House last week, when she said calls for genocide of Jewish people required "context" violate the schools code of conduct, depending on the "context."

On top of that, a Manhattan Institute Report over the weekend looked at her academic work, which has scholars saying Gay "definitely" plagiarized almost 20 authors in four of her 11 peer-reviewed academic papers, including her doctoral dissertation. In a statement, Harvard referred to the plagiarism allegations as incidents of "inadequate citation."

House GOP Conference Chair Rep. Elise Stefanik, R-N.Y., slammed the decision to stand behind Gay, calling it a "complete moral failure" of Harvard's leadership.

Former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger died at his home in Connecticut on Wednesday. He was 100.

The German-born American served as a diplomat, academic and presidential adviser, and continued to impact American politics in the private sector after leaving office. His stamp on U.S. foreign policy spanned decades and he was responsible – for better or worse – for systematically changing the standing of the U.S., China, Russia and others.

After the news of his death broke, dignitaries from around the world commented on his life and legacy. White House National Security Council spokesman John Kirby called Kissinger's death a "huge loss."

But not everyone spoke well of the deceased diplomat. Virginia Democratic Rep. Gerry Connolly said it was time to reassess Kissinger's legacy. "His indifference to human suffering will forever tarnish his name and shape his legacy," Connolly posted on X.

What's happening:

- Senator Schumer shares the isolation, fear, felt by American Jews

- Black voters in South Carolina feel the Democrat Party has failed them

- Dem run cittydrop six figures repainting BLM mural amid rising crime

The House of Representatives' Tuesday votes on reaffirming Israel's right to exist and condemning the terrorist group Hamas showed some division among members of the far-left "Squad."

The vote was nearly unanimous in support of Israel. Rep. Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich, and Rep. Cori Bush, D-Mo., were the only members of the radical eight-person group to not vote in favor of the resolution centered on Israel's existence. Tlaib was the only House member to vote "present," while Bush didn't vote.

After the vote, Tlaib told Fox News Digital in a statement about H. Res. 888 that "both Israelis and Palestinians have the right to live with democracy, safety, peace, and human dignity."

Republican Rep. Thomas Massie was the only "no" vote. He said he didn't support the resolution because it "equates anti-Zionism with antisemitism" and that expanding the definition of antisemitism to include criticism of Israel is "not helpful."

Michigan Democratic Rep. Debbie Dingell says the violent pro-Palestinian demonstration at the Democratic National Committee (DNC) Wednesday scared her more than the January 6 riots at the Capitol …Read more

In an interview with Fox News Digital, Dingell described attempting to leave the DNC headquarters, only to find doors blocked. She tried to leave through the front door where demonstrators stood in a line despite police telling them to cease blocking the door. Police warned that she would be hurt if she left, and she described how much it rattled her to see the violence up close.

"In the Capitol, we were in a big place, they were working to keep us safe," Dingell said, recalling the storming of the Capitol by supporters of former President Donald Trump in January 2021. "I never knew how bad it was until after we had finished our final voting about what had been happening."

The DNC headquarters, on the other hand, put her closer to the clash between police and protesters. "When you're in that contained space and all you see are bodies fighting each other, it's scary," Dingell said.

What's happening:

-President Joe Biden and Chinese President Xi Jinping meet in San Francisco

-Randi Weingarten questions presence of only men at all male Jewish service

-Republicans struggle to hold President Biden accountable on border crisis

Rep. Rashida Tlaib was caught being part of a secret social media group in which its members have glamorized Hamas in its war against Israel.

The Michigan Democrat is a member of the Palestinian American Congress group on Facebook. The group is hidden from non-members and does not appear on the platform's search engine, though Fox News Digital was able to gain access to it.

The group's founder, Maher Abdel-qader — who has extensive ties to Tlaib and has also been linked to other liberal politicians — has come under fire in the past for his antisemitic social media posts, including questioning if the Holocaust ever occurred.

What's happening:

- The House readies vote on a spending package to fund the government through the holiday season…

- Biden admin staffers revolt over president's calls for a ceasefire…

- RFK receives endorsements from three all-star athletes…

Congress has plenty of political battles, but Tuesday saw several incidents that nearly resulted in literal fights.

Oklahoma Senator Markwayne Mullin almost got in a physical altercation with Teamster President Sean O'Brien in a health, education and labor committee hearing.

"Sir this is a time, this is a place, you want to run your mouth we can be two consenting adults, and we can finish it here," Mullin told O'Brien after reading a tweet where O'Brien said he could take the senator "any time" or "any place."

"I would love to do it right now," O'Brien said, prompting Mullin to say, "Well, stand your butt up then."

"You stand your butt up, big guy," O'Brien said. Then Mullin, a former MMA fighter, rose from his chair and appeared ready to take on the union boss before committee Chairman Bernie Sanders told the pair to knock it off.

Fox News Politics: Dressing down

THE RUNDOWN: The Senate won't enforce its dress code as one Democratic member frequently walks the halls in shorts… President Biden called for "new approaches" to global crises in a speech at the United Nations General Assembly… House Republicans canceled a vote on government funding deal… border crossings spike in September… House GOP schedules first Biden impeachment inquiry hearing for Sept. 28

'STUNT' MEN: The White House hammered Republicans the Biden administration says is showing their "true priorities" by scheduling the first Biden impeachment hearing inquiries for Sept. 29, two days before some government funding will run out (unless Congress can reach a budget deal for the next fiscal year).

"Staging a political stunt hearing in the waning days before they shut down the government reveals their true priorities: to them, baseless personal attacks on President Biden are more important than preventing a government shutdown and the pain it would inflict on American families," White House spokesperson Ian Sams told Fox News Digital's Brooke Singman on Tuesday Read more

House Speaker Kevin McCarthy has been upfront that the impeachment inquiry is meant to answer lingering, unanswered questions about the president's involvement in his son Hunter Biden's business dealings, and rejects the claims that there is no evidence of wrongdoing.

"I can give you chapter verse in detail… and yet they just claim that there's no evidence at all," McCarthy said on Fox News' "Hannity" last week.

FACTIONS WITHIN FACTIONS: With an impending partial government shutdown less than two weeks away, conservative House members say some Republicans are toying with the idea of voting with Democrats for a "clean" continuing resolution (CR) — funding the government at levels set by the previous Democrat-controlled Congress.

Florida Rep. Byron Donalds, a member of the Freedom Caucus (who is also considering running for governor), had measure to fund the government for 30 days with an 8% cut to spending, but a procedural vote on that measure was canceled Tuesday.
