GOP senator is horny for Trump to invade two more countries

On Wednesday, Sen. Rick Scott, a Florida Republican, said that the Trump administration should target the governments of Cuba and Nicaragua with the same aggression it has shown to Venezuela after abducting leader Nicolás Maduro. President Donald Trump’s actions have been criticized for violating domestic and international law.

Scott made his comments during an appearance on Fox Business’ “Mornings with Maria” in an interview with election conspiracy theorist Maria Bartiromo.

“What they did in Venezuela is going to change Latin America. This is the start of changing Venezuela, then we’re going to fix Cuba. Nicaragua is going to get fixed—next year we’ll get a new president in Colombia,” Scott said. “Democracy is coming back to this hemisphere.”

Scott’s rhetoric shows that while Trump continues to seek praise for violating Venezuela’s sovereignty, the drive to use force in the region is in line with the reasoning of much of the rest of the Republican Party.

Following his action in Venezuela, Trump told reporters that while he did not immediately believe military action was necessary in Cuba, “Cuba looks like it’s ready to fall.”

Secretary of State Marco Rubio similarly said, “If I lived in Havana and I was in the government, I’d be concerned.”

Cuba has long relied on Venezuela for fuel, a lifeline that is likely to be disrupted because of Trump’s actions. But the country’s long and historic rivalry with the U.S. is unlikely to lead to Cubans welcoming hostility from America.

Democrats like Illinois Sen. Tammy Duckworth have blasted Trump for demonstrating “bluster and bravado” in attacking Venezuela, comparing the administration’s false justifications for their actions to the lies about weapons of mass destruction in Iraq.

Trump’s actions have been labeled as violations of U.S. and international law and several Democrats have argued that he should be impeached. In fact, some politicians are running for office solely to make that happen. Similarly, Trump’s action has been condemned by multiple world leaders and a recent poll from Reuters/Ipsos found that only 33% of Americans back Trump’s decision.

Despite the warning signs, Scott’s rhetoric shows that congressional Republicans still appear to be in complete lockstep with Trump’s aggression.

GOP congresswoman defends Trump’s Nazi talking points

Republican Rep. Nicole Malliotakis of New York went on CNN Monday evening to defend Donald Trump’s recent fascist rhetoric. Specifically, Trump’s transparent use of Nazi references to racial impurity, saying things like immigration is “poisoning the blood of our country.”

Host Abby Phillip attempted to get Malliotakis to admit that, at the very least, Trump’s repeated use of authoritarian rhetoric was worrying, reminding her that Malliotakis’ own origin story includes being the daughter of a Cuban refugee. Malliotakis didn’t see it that way:

Abby Phillip: Let's talk for a second here about the fact that Trump continuously, repeatedly uses this rhetoric that now maybe you could say the first time he didn't know the references, the parallels to authoritarians—he knows now. Why does he keep saying it over and over again?

Nicole Malliotakis: Well, look, I just think he's trying to bring attention to the issue.

Is there anyone more narrow-minded and group-thinky than a Republican lawmaker? In Malliotakis’ defense, she has maintained a rather stolid hypocrisy when it comes to immigration policy. Her 2022 campaign for the 11th District of New York consisted of attacking asylum-seekers.

What makes this an extra-special kind of hypocrisy is that Malliotakis is willing to defend the heinous rhetoric of Trump, a man she herself claimed in 2017 to have regretted voting for. Of course, that was when she was running for mayor of New York City, a place where Trump isn’t well liked.

Warren Wants to Control Your Freedom of Speech

By David Kamioner | January 29, 2020

Have a problem with Democrat Senator Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts?

She doesn’t want you to be allowed to express it online.

Freedom of speech?

To her, it’s to be torched in the bonfire of her desire to silence anything and any person who may oppose her.

Warren has, in her zest to play to the prejudices of the extreme hard left, gone all the way to the end of the leftist dial and embraced the theories of national socialism and indeed the brand of authoritarian socialism that ruled in the Soviet Union for decades and continues to hold sway in the modern Democrat ideological homelands of Cuba and Venezuela.

Specifically, Warren said in a press release she wants to make a crime out of “disseminating false information” online and would prosecute tech giants for “false information that disempowers voters and undermines democracy.”

Who would decide what constitutes “false information” and what “disempowers and undermines?”

She would.

In her own words, “I will push for new laws that impose tough civil and criminal penalties for knowingly disseminating this kind of information, which has the explicit purpose of undermining the basic right to vote. The stakes of this election are too high — we need to fight the spread of false information that disempowers voters and undermines democracy,” Warren said. “I’ll do my part — and I’m calling on my fellow candidates and big tech companies to do their part too.”

Criminal penalties for speaking online against the likes of Warren and her ilk?

I hope I get a nice cell, one with a decent wine cellar and a walk-in humidor.

Perhaps it should be lauded that the Senator has dropped her mask and now fully and publicly supports installing national criminal penalties for opposing what Warren personally deems false and disempowering.

Even putting aside the outright fascist tone of her statements, in this era of the PC Thought Police and identitarian lunacy no doubt taking issue with any insanity the left may spread would be considered illegal and subject to prosecution.

Just how would a real republic, where people can freely voice their views, be able to operate under these strictures?

That’s just it. The Democrats fully well know one can’t.

Because a functioning republic is not what they’re interested in. Their only ambition is raw power at any cost.
